361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much money (equivalent BTC, ETH, USD) have you earned from bounty companies? on: April 18, 2018, 06:21:49 PM
This is actually my first time doing a signature campaign for IOSToken. They have very good pay for ranks from member or jr.member. I am currently being paid 5200 IOSTokens per week for my sig space , avatar and text along with 0.0016 BTC.

I have received my first payout last week (14-Apr). There are a lot of campaigns going on - but it ll only benefit everyone if people care about not-spamming the forum as much as they getting some tokens/coins.

I try to post like 3-4 posts per day, so that adds up to 28-30 per week and will go over the minimum requirement - which is 25/week. I also try to post quality content so that others may also benefit, rather than just posting something which no one will see in the mega threads or similar threads. Now, that rank depends more on 'merit' rather than forum posts or activity, it is better to post quality stuff. That will always give a positive impression when a signature campaign manager takes a look at our profile during selection process.

362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Savedroid is a scam and yet it had 4/5 rating on ICO Bench. on: April 18, 2018, 05:54:57 PM
Found this on another thread just posted some hours ago:

https://www.ccn.com/over-and-out-savedroid-ico-makes-apparent-exit-scam/

I guess these websites recommending and rating ICO's clearly takes money from the team behind it, just like many people including youtubers promoted something like bitconnect - only to lure ignorant investors and newbies and running away with their money.

People who lose money by buying into these scams then go around saying the whole BTC and cryptocurrency are Scam.
363  Bitcoin / Press / [17-04-2018] Report: Less Than 1% of Bitcoin Used for Illegal Purposes on: April 17, 2018, 05:56:39 PM
Cryptocurrencies are regularly accused of causing “deaths in a fairly direct way” (as Bill Gates put it). A report released by The Foundation for Defense of Democracies found that less than one percent of Bitcoin is used for illegal purposes.

Bitcoin Not as Criminal as Some Might Think

Quote from: Tom Robinson, Chief Data Officer at Elliptic

“the report demonstrates the transparency of the Bitcoin blockchain, and the analytical techniques that can be used by law enforcement to trace and apprehend cybercriminals, and by financial institutions to prevent the reintroduction of this dirty money into the mainstream financial system.”

Crime has existed long before Bitcoin and will continue to leverage new technologies to its own benefit.

365  Local / India / Re: Is this possible in India? on: April 17, 2018, 04:25:23 PM
We have almost 10 weeks (according to the RBI circular) until every bank stops supporting exchanges. I ve just today received a mail from Koinex that they have changed their banking partners. I still hope against all odds that something positive might happen if a very large number of people decide to take action in anyway possible. I have signed the PIL and will forward to all my cryptobuddies.

366  Local / India / Re: Indian Babudom out in Full Force: What to do about it on: April 17, 2018, 04:20:33 PM
This is from another thread I have posted recently regarding something similar to RBI's action against cryptocurrency that happend in chile and how they responded by going to the court.

P.S. I am no expert of law, just wondering if something like this is possible in India too? If yes, Why wouldn't exchanges give it a try?

A PIL is already underway.

I hope all our Indian members will join this and show support. I would also suggest sharing the same in social media groups etc..

367  Local / India / Is this possible in India? on: April 16, 2018, 04:03:31 PM
On March 19, chilean banks started closing bank accounts of major cryptocurrency exchanges in the country. First in the line were Itau Corpbanca and Scotiabank followed by Banco del Estado de Chile only a week later.

Now, the exchanges in question gathered to fight back, legally. According to Bloomberg report, three exchanges hit by the ban, BUDA, Orionx and CryptoMarket have jointly appealed the bank decisions, that essentially ended their platforms.

Crypto community in Chile also joined the battle and try to help the exchanges with a Twitter action under a hashtag #ChileQuiereCryptos. It is obvious that people in this Southamerican country want to have an option of trading cryptocurrencies.

368  Local / Mining (India) / Re: regardign ethOS on: April 16, 2018, 01:32:59 PM
Here's a package I created to keep your rig mining the most profitable algorithm. Defaults uses Nicehash. If you find any issues or want to request features please submit an issue on GitHub.

https://github.com/ajpsp5/ethos-auto-miner

Its does donate one hour a day of mining time (roughly $0.15/day) towards improvements and an ethos mobile app I'm working on. Anyway, I hope it helps.

This thread was posted on June 2017 and probably the guy gave up because of all the fuzz happening around BTC in India. I have seen this 'auto-miner' being posted in many threads posted by newbies. There are already many great mining programs, whats special about your miner if you are trying to help newbies?

As far as a newbie miner is concerned, he can just download the NiceHash Miner from their official website and point their rigs, and the NiceHash miner is very user friendly and also a great integrated 'auto-mining' software and there isn't this whole one hour a day of mining time donation also.
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Citizens of Japan are going all-in on Cryptocurrency on: April 15, 2018, 05:04:46 PM
Japanese are very smart and also well disciplined. Their govt. is positive about BTC, since they understand the true potential of BTC. No wonder people are going all-in.

Unlike countries like India - where the cheap prostituting politicians sell their own homeland for money, Japan has more integrity which always mean they will be succesful - which is very evident from the pace of their nations development.

This is of course a very positive sign for BTC and cryptocoins overall.

371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Been Scammed? on: April 13, 2018, 05:48:35 PM
Yes, the classic ones 1) cloud mining 2) trading through forum without escrow

I have invested around 0.2 BTC to a cloud mining site called hasheer only to get rekt after few weeks. They ran away with around 100 BTC (may be more) from all the investors.
I traded some eth to a legendary member in this forum and got rekt, only on close inspection of his profile did I found that the account changed hands.

Bonus: I have been scammed by some stupid kid playing Counter Strike: GO. When he promised to trade me an expensive knife for the skins I had. That was another 200 USD.

Quite a bumpy road.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A8+ Crypto 240kh/s ?! on: April 13, 2018, 05:43:02 PM
Innosilicon is one of the oldest when it comes to manufacturing ASICs. But they fucked up big time last year during the sale of A4 and A4+ LTC miners. I myself have ordered and paid 75% on June and the delivery was promised on September. It got postponed to Nov, Dec, Jan (since they were releasing A4+ at that time and offered upgrade) - but in effect I lost out on 4-5 months of mining when the crypto market mooned to 19+ k USD. Finally, the delivery was made late Jan 2018.

Make sure you get the miners delivered on time, in case you are ordering from Innosilicon.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: rx 550 hashrate ETH on: April 13, 2018, 05:36:45 PM
The math will look good and fascinates us at times, but also consider the amount of headache if you install 100 of these to get 100 x 12 = 1.2 Gh/s (ETH). The same can be achieved with lesser number of more powerful cards.
Many people had their rigs burnt and rooms catch fire because of overheating, burnt psu power cables etc..

When looking to invest in mining, the maintenance part is as important as the initial setup. Good luck

374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Becoming a dev on: April 13, 2018, 05:14:24 PM
I have enrolled for an online course at coursera.org. This course is created by Princeton University and the lectures are given by Arvind Narayanan (Princeton University) and others. I am a super noob when it comes to coding or anything related to development, but the course seems very comprehensive and interesting even for me with limited knowledge.

you can check out the link here to get all details about it and join if you wish.

Goodluck.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: biostar tb250-btc on: April 13, 2018, 05:06:06 PM
There was a known driver issue with running many RX 580/570s during the time it was released. I don't know if they were fixed with new drivers but anyway, you can see how to fix the driver issues by combining an old and new driver. The process is shown in video by cryptomined.

376  Local / Mining (India) / Re: Is gpu Mining is still Profitable ? on: April 13, 2018, 05:01:10 PM
Hello all,
Im Nob In Mining World I am wants to know that is GPU mining is still Profitable i'm from India

There is a lot of uncertainty about GPU mining right now after many asics have showed up for many coins including XMR which used cryptonight algo and was considered to be ASIC-resistant. XMR had to hardfork to brick all the asic and the huge amount of hashes which was brought to the network.

I wouldn't risk investing in mining (especially since you live in India) as the situation is the worst after the RBI's new regulation on cryptocurrency. Spend your money wisely, don't jump in without proper research or awareness about what is going on.
377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any chance for Bitcoin this year? on: April 13, 2018, 04:48:48 PM
At your point of view, Does Bitcoin have a chance?

If you shift your attention from the immediate past 3-6 months chart to the last 2 years or so, you can see for yourself that BTC have gone a long way already. we are at 8000+ USD per 1 BTC which is itself extra ordinary. As you know the supply is limited to 21 million unlike fiat currency, so with more awareness and people showing interest in BTC and more organiztions adapting to the technology after realizing its true potential - I say 8k or 10k is just the beginning.

378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Speculative Coins to mine with GPU Rigs for April 2018 on: April 13, 2018, 04:35:49 PM

As an example, those who mined XSH (Shield Coin) back in November just after its initial launch raked in tens and hundreds of thousands of coins, which they then could sell in December during the boom to the tune of millions.

I guess they have really done their homework before sending their hashes towards mining XSH. The best thing to do is to invest time yourself trying to find potentially good cryptos which will moon in the future. I don't think you ll get a ready made answer here. Just my opinion.

You can start your search at the altcoin ANN section here
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: biostar tb250-btc on: April 13, 2018, 04:27:51 PM
It will be helpful if you give some more information about your setup like what cards you are running and overall hardware spec. If you have moded bios or not, and also if you are mining on windows/linux or any other OS like ETHOS or Simplemining.

As a first step I would run each card alone to see if its a hardware issue with the card itself.
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Latest new coin to mine?? on: April 13, 2018, 04:22:00 PM
The altcoin ANN section which you can see here, have info about every new coins that is being released. The ANN thread typically consist of all the information about the coin so you can see whether it is mineable or not using a GPU.

but, beware that many of them serves no real purpose for anyone - they just announce a coin and offer ICO etc only to lure new investors without good knowledge or experience about cryptos. It is better to do a good amount of research before setting up your hardware to mine them. Good luck.
