S2 received yesterday after ordering it on Friday evening. The boards inside were all jiggled loose during shipment and the case itself was a little bent but everything works fine. I wonder if Bitmain could consider shipping the boards secured together seperate from the case itself so there is less chance of damage from the boards clashing around in the case.
Everything works though after plugging them back in.
I ordered Sat, delivered wednesday to UK... not bad. Has anyone approached bitmain re damaged cases? i have two folded corners and a dent in the top. ......@bitmain ( shouts into the dark ) "Any replacement cases sent out?" Seriously, why do you care? I have a miner that looks perfect, but only 9 out of 10 boards hash. Do you want to exchange? LOL He paid for goods and they were damaged - it's normal to complain about that is it not? Albeit his miner mines so I see what you mean... |

It's kinda bs though...with the rise in the coin price S1's have been increasing in price. This should not be happening anymore with diff. where it is. I still haven't seen a single day where I feel I could make my money back with an S2.
+1 - sad but true - coins are ready but still waiting for a decent deal on the S2 yeah if they figured in diff rise and btc rise the price would be .380 not .419 this would be an exact match to the best price they had which was on may 19th .. so if you want to say the may 19 price was too low they could still offer this for .4 pre coupon and do better then they were doing with the may 19th price. And I have accounted for btc and diff .. I want to buy 2 more and have been holding on to coins since may 19th . So far holding the coins is better then buying these. Maybe, if enough of us complain about the price of the S1 and S2 then bitmain will take a look and decrease the prices  [edit] actually he did seem to respond dramatically to complaints several weeks ago with the S1 when it went from .9something to .6something iirc... |

the only restriction is I have to stay under 800 watts. I have to make them run quietly. they do run pretty quiet . I think I will order 2 more s-1's today or tomorrow
One of my S1s came with a broken fan, I replaced it with a push/pull pair of Corsair AF120 performance edition fans (30db) and I must say that that miner runs at the best hash rate 205.6 and the lowest temp - by 3-4 degress, and is by far the quietest - over the others. £25 for the pair. Bitmain promised to ship a replacement fan with my next order. thanks. If I see them on sale here I will grab some. I have found that on my over clocking the gear has been pretty loud. but on my under clocking I have a corsair vortex and I have the stock fan. the stock fan runs under 1500 rpm and it is quiet . but testing new fans is cool with me. I dont really get the underclocking stuff if I'm honest Phil, I need to max the income from these things before they become useless... Happy to be enlightened however... |

Bitmain should really change the pricing on the S2's to BTC price not dollars. These miners should never go up in pricetag, that's bad business.
Fix it to BTC already with steady decreases. They'd get alot more buyers that way. Also, the S2 has been out for awhile (since early April), no reason for it to be over $2k pre-coupon at this point. No chance at ROI for miners at this difficulty and future ones. It'll never earn back the 4 BTC it costs.
Even with a coupon it won't earn the 3.3 BTC asking price - needs to give a little here... [edit] looks like he's taken some holiday time... |

Thanks, that's tempting - 2 BTC for 800 GH/s plus $200 shipping - hope bitmain is watching this... Too tempting had to buy one to try it out. RaPi I have. PSUs I have. I wish to see new Friedcat chips.. Bitmain we have seen Jack's site gave me Total (Shipping fee not included) 2.06444018 BTC I have bought him before customer support is bit dodgy but they have shipped out hundreds of miners. I have buy very first Dragon 1T from him. -edit- no idea how shipping is billed. I will wait and see. Let me know how you get on pls |

It will add up more than $1800/TH usd after you factor psu less hashing power, pi. and shipping.
Most people already have a PSU (or plenty of). The point is bitmain is no longer the best deal and once asicminer get their feet back in the door... |

Its disgraceful keep changing the price so we can hardly earn a satoshi no matter what the BTC price does!
They do charge in BTC. They only quote in USD, (and BTC right next to it). The price is dropping. Right now they're at 3.961 BTC. Just earlier today they were at 4.02ish. They cost less today than they did two days ago when I bought mine. How hard is that to comprehend? And before you say that if you buy in fiat the price has gone up then let me just counter that by saying that if you start mining with one you're also going to make more fiat than you would have done as well. You can't have it both ways. You either price in BTC and the cost has gone down while the earning potential remains the same, or you price in fiat and the cost has gone up but so has the earning potential. Take your pick. who said it was hard to comprehend? if the USD price had not been raised AGAIN - the BTC price would actually be reasonable rather than STILL disgracefully high duh I have to side with you. Also right now asicminer new gen gear is selling at 1170 usd for 800gh so do I want to spend 2309 usd here (well 1909 usd after coupon) and get a 1000 gh unit or do I want to spend 1170 usd and get an 800 gh unit. I have to add a psu. I have one. I have to add a rasp Pi so for 1230 usd I get 800gh vs 1909 for 1000gh This is very simple if the new asic miner 800 gh machine is good these s-2's are very overpriced. Raising the price is not the best reaction to an exploding diff  To have a chance to get a ROI the price may not be much higher than 1500... Indeed, looks like I'll have to hold back for another couple of weeks until bitmain offers a decent deal... |

Thanks. I will look for a drop and order again. I was able to set up some at my friends office. I think I can run 4 at his place with under volt and down clock . I can get 600 gh and 800 watts. He shares a building 4 ways and splits the power bill 4 ways. so I am getting power at 4 cents a k watt in his place vs 16 cents in my home. my limit would be 4 units in his office but at 4 cents a k watt I smell roi. That's a nice price for electricity if you can get it. What would be even better would be if the S2 came down to a more realistic price of 2 to 2.5 BTC - then we could all save on elecricity bills... |

Even with the coupon these S2s are still over 3.5 BTC. For 1TH/s that's over the top.
We need a step change again here bitmain (like you did with the S1). Bring these down to 2.5 BTC and start selling a pile of them.
