when flashing RX 570, if we have to copy 1500 to 1625, 1750, 2000... do we have to do that on 1 and 2?
Meaning.. should we copy 1:1500 to 1:1625, 1:1750, 1:2000 AND 2:1500 to 2:1625, 2:1750, 2:2000 Huh
anyone?

Copy both, no harm.

Does anybody know how to say the gigabyte ga-m68mt-s2p does not recognize the rises? Huh Huh Huh
I'm trying to mount a small rig but it does not recognize the rises.

Did you try plug it dirctly on the MB?

Yes it worked normally but when I connect the rises it does not recognize.

One of three things are happening :
1) You did not plug in the power to the risers (molex or sata usually)
2) You have bad risers which need replacement, try them one at a time to be sure, and on the primary PCIe slot (the longest one)
3) You are plugging in the risers incorrectly on the motherboard. This could potentially fry the slot, the riser or the graphics card or even the motherboard. Here's an image to help :

Hello, any1 noticed if AC power on power loss stopped working with the latest BIOS?

Well, not exactly, with older BIOS, you could power on only tapping the power button on the power supply. But I updated to latest BIOS (to have 4G decoding enabled) and now it doesn't turn on the same way. I must unplug the power cord first, plug again and then it works, but it's a bit of an inconvenience.

Its meant for accidental shutdowns or power losses. If you just turn the mains off and back on, system will boot. If you shutdown your pc properly, well then its not accidental, and just turning power back on will not work immidiately, thats not what the feature is built for.
In such a case as you stated, you need to power cycle, which means turn off the PSU and wait a minute for the capacitors on the PSU/motherboard to discharge.

Hey Claymore, I see the miner uses Cuda 6.1. Do you think the recent Cuda 8.0 release could result in any speedup?

There is no reported hashrate, so this is more likely something like a botnet stealing shares, or maybe one of Claymores Fee addresses.

Hi guys,

Sorry to ask this again but I went through the new joiners posts and still couldn't make up my mind around it and  figure out the answer.

So I would like to jump on the crypto currency boat, but I have a few questions before.

1- as I understood that bitcoin mining is becoming less profitable every day, unless you have a massive hash power, I'd like to try mining altcoins, but am I wrong thinking this is profitable ?

2- following that, are there ASIC miners (I only see those for bitcoins, unless antminers are also able to mine altcoins?)

3- last one, when scouting for a pool, would you recommend a pool/software that mines a bit of everything or a pool for each cryptocurrency I mine.

Cheers guys.

1) Profitability is directly correlated to hash as long as you are on a pool. There is no minimum or maximum hash needed to be profitable. However the most expensive/highest hashing ASIC gives you the most hashes per $$ so that reduces your ROI.

2) Correct, there are ASIC's for several coins like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash etc except the ASIC resistant coins like ETH, ETC.

3) Every Crypto would have its own set of pools, and one or two for each would be the best, these may not overlap. Do your research for each crypto that you are going to mine and choose from the top three pools for each.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI z270 MB for +7 GPU's on: July 15, 2017, 07:46:29 PM
when using 8 or more gpu rigs, do you split psus? Lets say I've 8 Rx 480, But my psu has only 6 gpu connectors. Each cable has two gpu plugs but one of plugs is 6pin. How do you handle this?

Yes but you can use 2 +750w which is alot cheaper than one big monster psu. They is if you run 8 RX470 4g

Yeah ... good luck running 8 GPU's on one motherboard.

I've Seen it, and it does work, with the MSI Z270 a-pro , soon you'll see 12 GPU's on one mother board.. Soon.

I take my words back. I now have several Z270 boards that run 8 cards. Also have ordered the Biostar 12 card board.

I have bought and been buying thousands of ETH for the last 3 days. It's too difficulty for miners to mine eth, few coins with lots of hardware, I said before and I will say again, I'm aiming at 300% profit in the next 3 months or so with eth trading, buying low now and will sell around 0.4 btc or so. I have a feeling many btc owners will exchange their btc for eth  and eth will fly to around 0.9 btc per eth.

Thousands of ETH??? THOUSANDS??? Casually buying 200+K in crypto ... you got balls man. While I am pretty sure ETH will cross 500 by the end of this year, I dont have the balls to buy ETH directly, so I mine.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Did I broke my card on: July 13, 2017, 09:01:38 PM
Nvidia cards auto OC to the highest core clocks possible depending on the thermal and power limit headroom availible. Also 1700+ is a pretty normal OC on Nvidia current gen cards. This is why manually setting an OC on the core is pointless, because the card will automatically OC if the card is cool enough, and it will automatically downclock if it gets hot. You can not control that behavior.
Secondly and more importantly, dial the fuck back on that memory OC unless you want to wreck your card, that is too huge, you need to start at +600 OC, run it for a while to heck if its stable, and then increase by 100, and repeat untill you find the max OC that runs stable for atleast an hour of mining.
Also, reduce the Power limit from 100% to like 60% if you are only going to be mining Ethereum since you do not need the core to clock to 1700+ as it doesent improve Ethereum mining performance anyways.
Cheers.
Okay thanks a lot i reduced my max power to 70% that is the minimum i could get my card to and thats solved my core GPU problem and it is now stable at 1227 MHz .
I got my mem to 600 now but may I ask how to know if it is stable or not ! when it was at 1000 mem i did not get any errors or anything

If mining runs fine for 1 hour on 600, then its stable. Then you can increase +100 and run for 1 hour again. Repeat untill you find highest stable memory overclock

first of all I am new to mining but i Have really very strange thing my card (gtx 1050 ti) clock speed base is 1303 boost is 1417 but after i downloaded msiafterburner my card is acting very strange it wont back to factory reset my clock speed now is crazy 1750+ without even play with any settings this is became the default for it . the real strange thing is my temp is very stable i dunno if that is normal or not i googled it and I know sometime the real boost speed can be more than what is advertised but not that much more we are talking about 300 mhz more . here is a screen .

You can see in the screen i only oc my memory but still my cpu get boosted even while it is on default .

371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how to build a stable 5GPU mining rig ...? on: July 13, 2017, 02:08:01 PM
Hello guys !
- Carte mère MSI B150 PC MATE
- Alim 1000W EVGA
- 4 Go de RAM
- SSD 60go M2
- Processeur Intel Celeron
- GPU (RX580 4Go Pulse, Hynix et Elpida)

First off, you need to undervolt and underclock your GPU's, they are drawing too much power to hit 800+ Watts.
I am assuming you have already modded the bios for memory timings since you mentioned the memory type of the cards.
With 5 GPU's you should ideally be under 600W total system load under windows. Use a tool like Watttool to underclock and undervolt the GPU core each time windows boots, and to apply the memory overclocks that your card is stable at.

Second, MSI b150 PC Mate is known to struggle with more than 4 cards, so that is most liely the source of your troubles. Not all motherboards will do more than 4 cards.
The B250 Z270 motherboards are much better in that respect.
Having said that, I would recommend digging into the BIOS and spend some time disabling every Sata port and Every USB port, Audio interface etc that you are not using. ALso change all PCIE lanes to Gen 1.

Third, you could try no tusing the M.2 slot ssd and try with a regular ssd connected to a regular sata port to see if that helps, just in case the m.2 slot is taking up a PCIe lane.

Best of luck.

Step 4 : Turn all PCIe slots to Gen1

What the heck type of motherboards are you using that allow you to set that?
Never seen that as an option on anything I've ever used.

I thought everyone knew where to find the various PCIe gen settings so why bother explaining how to get to each and turn them one by one Tongue

You seem to be ASSUMING that these settings are the same on every motherboard - and that they EXIST on every motherboard.

They do, on the motherboard that the OP is asking about atleast. And he did get what I meant. I don't know what rattled your cage though ...

Hey guys, my Eth rig recently went down and tonight I went about troubleshooting. For some reason, it was refusing to power on. Unplugged it all and went for 1x gpu. Powered on booted into Windows fine. Tried 2, works fine.

Now this is where it gets weird. As soon as I plug in another pcie cable to my power supply, the rig refuses to power on. Not just not booting into windows; completely no power. If I plug the powered riser into a 3rd gpu: no power on. A couple times while I was trying different things, it wouldn't even power on for the 2 gpus which worked a minute before. Then (seemingly randomly), it will work again for only 2x gpu.

What I've checked/done: checked all power cables/plugs on mb. Swapped power supplies with a new one.

Any ideas where I should start troubleshooting? I really thought it was my PS, but I can't believe I'd have 2 go out on me. Maybe my MB is going bad?

Rig:
Asrock H81 Pro Btc
evga 1k PSU
5x Sapphire Nitro+ 480x
shitty cpu and 4gb RAM

Happened to my rig. PSU turned out to be the problem. Change it and check, if you have a spare.

Nice. Now how about you send us pics of Rigs that you build not images taken off of google search?
Place a placard with your name and current date on it against any of your rigs and then take pics.
That's how you establish proof, if you are familiar with any of the tech forums.

Try setting your machine up with more virtual memory?

I did. I added 16GB of virtual memory.

It works normal with 4 cards and when 4G Encoding is disabled, when I enable it it becojmne super slow.

Claymore works ok but ehhh

If someone can help me to get genoil work on my Asus Rog Strix Z270f Gaming motherboard and 7xGtx 1070 I promise i'll donate him 0.3 Eth.

I am on Win 10 Pro

All these are BIOS Settings that work for me on 10+ boards flawlessly :

Step 1 : Update bios to the latest
Step 2:  Disable Audio, Disable USB 3.1, Disable all USB ports except the first 4, Disable all sata ports except the one that your SSD is connected to, disable serial port
Step 3 : Set default display to onboard/igfx, enable 4g decoding
Step 4 : Turn all PCIe slots to Gen1
Step 5 : Reboot and run with all cards connected, let the cards intall for a bit, check in device manager when they are all done, then reboot system and voila

If you use a m.2 to pcie converter, you can get even 8 cards to work with the above settings. PM me if you still cant get it to work.

This vanisha soni thing is very shady.

Their company does not exist either. Didn't find any registration info.

Also, you claim to be from Jaipur. I'd like to pay you a visit while I'm here.
PM me your address and I'd like to see if this is legit or not.

Sure it all looks shady, but if he can provide us with pictures of the cards, and screengrabs of them working, some previous builds hes done etc to establish some kind of proof of life, then I am willing to do business.
And incase hes running a straight up scam, he should stick to OLX Cheesy people are too tech savvy here on bitcointalk Tongue
378  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: prebuilt mining rig fir sale in India on: July 10, 2017, 06:12:52 AM
Stock Hashrate: 190 MH/s would mean about 31.7 mh/s per card. Are you sure about that claim? That's higher than the legends on these forums can push those cards to.
And on EthOS? Those cards draw 180W each, so 6 cards would burn that 1000W PSU unless you undervolt, so how are you undervolting on ethOS?
Also what brand/buiild are the Rx 580 8GB cards? What brand/make are the GTX 1080ti's? Can you post some pictures here of the rigs that you build and/or cards?
Im super interested in buying just the cards, in bulk. Answer the above queries and we can do business.
I respect your views. But in my mining rigs it is possible and working fine.
I myself have farm (or a little farm) of 10k MH/s at Jaipur. you are invited to visit.
Thanks

So that's a no for pictures? How do we proceed then? I'm sorry its a little hard to trust someone with your money without even a picture of what you are selling.
well i tried to upload pics. its comlicated to post a pic here for a newbie.

How about you share a link to a website/blog where you have pictures uploaded?

Does anyone have Asrock h81 btc pro ?
i have connected the 2 molex Cables on the motherboard aswell as having powered risers (sata to molex ).
Is this correct or should i remove the 2 molex on the motherboard?

If you are using powered risers, then you dont need the molex cables plugged into the motherboard.

Can confirm, 7 cards are detected, and installed in windows but while mining CPU usage will rise to 100% and miner crashes coz of hardware/interrupt errors.
