361  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Has Coinbase been hacked? Proof within ... on: July 13, 2017, 05:08:52 AM
Did you even try to log-in into your account of coinbase to know whether you will be denied access or not? If you do and your funds are intact then I don't see any problem because what you see might actually be a technical glitch or maybe an attack on your own account which might make it vulnerable. Most hacking don't come with notifications to users to confirm it. It just happen and the funds are gone.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Whales do not exist on: July 12, 2017, 08:33:39 PM
So many people are saying "whales organized the crash", "whales want it to go down"...

It sounds stupid. A conspiracy theory is all it is.

There's no whales that control the market. What i can relate to whales is only smart people, buy low and then dump it on your ass when everyone is buying.

For you to conclude that there is no whale is where I would say you got it wrong although I agree that whales cannot be responsible for everything that happen in the crypto world because when the price was increasing, no one was crying foul about the whales rather several reasons where brought up to support the increase but that does not mean there are no whales. For me whales are group of individuals or say an individual that can manipulate price and its not necessary one needs to have a 100btc to do that.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Elitists Ignoring the 3rd world on: July 12, 2017, 07:43:34 PM
I cannot but agree to this submission because I can really relate with it because I am equally from a developing country and I know the level of income around here which is no small thing. The issue of fees is something I even had to stop some days ago because of the issue high fees when I converted 40$ to my fiat I got to realize that its not small money and cannot be afforded to be paid as fees. Whether we like it or not, this is something that will really affect the penetration of bitcoin in this part of the world.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Target Coin - World's FIRST And ONLY Bonus Paying Crypto Fund on: July 12, 2017, 06:23:16 PM
i don't quite katch it
so it's a trading bot that pays guaranteed amount of interest to investors via smart contract??

Hi,

We use trading algorithms along with our fund managers trading manually for some part.

We use multiple strategies to invest and trade in cryptos. We use machine learning for historical pattern trading, technical analysis, quantitative arbitrage across exchanges and long term investments in promising cryptos.

We share 85% of the quarterly profits with the investors.

My question is this, I am sorry if it has been asked before

1. What will happen if loss is made, does it mean I lose my investment or it reduces considering that we all know that in crypto world profit is not of certainty.

2. Is there a way on how to monitor the profit being made on a daily basis in other to ensure transparency and also be sure of the quarterly profit to be distributed.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ether still struggling? on: July 11, 2017, 07:44:12 PM
I would say irrespective of its price, ETH is still struggling to have witnessed such a sharp drop as a result of a fake news. I wonder what would happen if the news had been real and there is nobody to debunk the death rumour and I still think that's one more advantage bitcoin has over ETH since its not tied around one person and whether he is alive or dead, no one knows. If a news broke that the Satoshi died tomorrow I don't see a lot of effect because a lot have claimed to be Satoshi.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Being a whale.. on: July 11, 2017, 05:35:21 PM
We hear whales' influencial actions everyday..
Who is considered whale in crypto world? How big capital is needed to be considered whale? How they coordinate with each other to influence coins?
what more concrete we know about them?

Posted From bitcointalk.org Android App

Whale is not necessarily one individual rather a group of individuals and they are not far fetched. Also there is no one volume to be a whale because the capitalization of coins differ. Pump and dump groups are example of whale. For me, if a coin total capitalization is 2btc which means with my 1btc, I have 50% of control and to be a whale and that goes for bitcoin. It is the amount of funds one have to possess control.
367  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC and other currency on the downfall on: July 11, 2017, 05:11:08 PM
Like what everyone is saying, it is expected that the price of bitcoin but the reaction of everyone or say the majority will determine whether it will be a crash or not but so far so good, I can say we are still doing fine considering the level of confidence quite a number of people have exhibited which is something that is still giving the basis for bitcoin to still maintain the price it currently compared to other alts, that have entered the phase of crashing.

The market is dropping.
Another surge in price before the end of this year?
Thoughts?
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTF is happening in cryptocurrency world ? on: July 11, 2017, 02:19:30 PM
What I see here is a testimony to the various threads that has been created on the forum here and there concerning the issue of August 1 which everybody is really skeptical about and as a result they are pulling out of the market. As for the other alts that are equally going down, its just a testimony that whatever happens to btc happens to them as well no matter how they proclaim themselves to be a better alternative or even another Btc as we can clearly see here that they are even more hit than btc itself.
369  Economy / Economics / Re: Can you really make money on Forex? on: July 11, 2017, 11:53:07 AM
I will also lend my voice to this that its very much possible to make money in forex and this is something I have verifiable evidence on considering the people that I have met who are even close to me which means I know they cannot be lying about it but the issue is that they went on a standard and adequate training before engaging in it because to my understanding, its very much risky even riskier than the crypto-exchange market that I am very used to.
370  Economy / Economics / Re: Would bitcoin help teach kids about saving? on: July 11, 2017, 08:56:52 AM
So I have 2 cousins. One of them doesn't save and is a huge spender while the other is a saver and spends only once a year. So would bitcoin be a good way to teach them about saving? Since, mining bitcoin is the only way to make alot of bitcoin, I would use a alt wallet to show them what happens if you spend and don't save. What do you think?

There are other ways to teach kids how to save rather than relying on bitcoin after all several of us didn't know anything about bitcoin when we were growing up but that does not mean we don't know how to save or never inculcate the habit of saving. A piggy bank is what a young chap needs and at the end of the year, he would realise how much he has been able to save in the period of time rather than spending it on groceries and things that are not worthy as such.
371  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's have a serious talk about high risks. on: July 11, 2017, 08:13:50 AM
We all saw this coming.
It's about that time.
I'll tell you what. We can keep our $100B market cap if each and every one of you goes out and sets up shop with bitcoin or helps an existing business integrate crypto in less than a month. Colds calls, door to door, vistaprint, hail marry.

I don't believe in that. I don't want to. I believe people are going to start taking high risks. The only thing that's close to the reciprocal of the crash is something at 1 sat with nowhere to go but up.

Who thinks we're gonna bounce? Are people investing in 1sat coins in hopes of making extreme gains? Like all or nothing?
I am very on edge because I know there is still a way to make money.

All these coins are in the green. Except by the hour

There's got to be one that's a sure shot up. There's got to be some data scraping that can figure out which one its gonna be.

In as much as everybody is not totally happy with the crash but I still agree with the poster that the crash is on the other way round a good thing for those who are bent on making sure they continue pumping the bubble and wait till when it burst so they can have their own joy. At the same time, it presents an opportunity by sending a strong message to those who the media have brainwashed to think this is a Ponzi scheme. I however, agree with you that more still needs to be done in sending the message put there.
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Energy provider in Austria accepts BTC as payment on: July 10, 2017, 10:16:49 PM
http://www.nachrichten.at/nachrichten/wirtschaft/wirtschaftsraumooe/Energie-AG-Ab-Montag-werden-Bitcoins-akzeptiert;art467,2617284

sorry but it is only available in german.

The energy provider EnergieAG in Austria (Central europe, south of germany and no kangaroos) started to accept BTC as payment.
Why I post this here and not in a german subforum? Because it is great news that a second big company (biggest food delivery service in Germany too) started to accept BTC in a few days. That is great news
Even though its for the German market, I believe its still a good news to the market in general because it shows that businesses are beigingng to trust the technology and the force behind it and not just individuals now but corporate bodies no matter how small their capacity is and with the biggest food delivery coming on board in few days, then all I can say is that good days are here and its happening in our very own eyes.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Karpeles of Mt. Gox trial starts in Japan on: July 10, 2017, 07:40:02 PM
The biggest hack on bitcoin exchanges history - Mt. Gox will be scrutinized in a Tokyo court this week as Mt.Gox’s Mark Karpeles is brought before the law to answer charges of embezzlement and data manipulation.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/wolf-of-mt-gox-mark-karpeles-faces-music-in-tokyo

Let us see if justice will be served for those who has become victim of this hack. But Karpeles lawyer said he will plead not guilty.
If it can get to this point, then I am happy that people are being brought to be responsible for the funds kept on their various exchange site and if anything should happen, they have betrayed the trust of investors in which they should be made to answer to. I hope justice is serve not because he is guilty of the hack or even mismanagement but because I fully believe its his responsibility to keep those funds safe and ensure the hacking didn't happen in the first place.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you include bitcoins in your will (and make it a quest)? on: July 10, 2017, 06:23:47 PM
I see it as a futile exercise because since I would have died then I don't get to know who is more intelligent and even get to see the fun part of the quest. Rather, when I am sure I have enough to sustain me in my life time then I can give them the quest in my life time for the rest while I watch them and ensure the rules of the game are kept so they don't get to kill each other and in case no one is able to break it, I can provide them the solution rather than losing the whole coins forever.

(hypothetically) When I die I'd like my children to have all my bitcoins. So I was thinking of writing a will to give each of them equal amount but to make it more fun I'd hide the keys from my wallet and make it a quest.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin versus Illuminati on: July 09, 2017, 07:49:10 PM
I.just think this is another conspiracy theory. People like when something has a hint of mistery and something that can't be explaind so easily and of course there is often presence of some secret organization or society in the background and the fight for world order.

I share the same thing with your thought because that the same way there was this video that Obama will bring end to the world because he is a member of Illuminati and because of Obama care but alas Obama left and handed over but the world is still standing? And also with all the powers that Illuminati is purported to have, if its now been attached to bitcoin, then I don't see why anything should stand as a challenge in its way in becoming a world currency in a short while.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins looting the money on: July 09, 2017, 05:59:19 PM
Hi, today i sent 0.00238 btc from my electrum wallet to my localbitcoins account.I have already paid transaction fee.I have received only 0.00154 btc in my localbitcoins account. So they have taken 0.0008 btc as incoming fee. So,dear all be careful while using localbitcoins.com for selling your hard earned btc.Just wanted to make you all alert of this loot.

Its actually not looting money but payment for services they are offering which is even as a result of the increase in the price of miners fee in recent times as an explanation for the high payment they are charging. If still feel its still ok to pay them that and have a smooth transactions than to fall in the hands of scammers in the process of converting to fiat which is mostly what happens when one wants to avoid the payment of fees. Also, if its something you cannot afford, start looking for alternative means.

378  Economy / Speculation / Re: downtime soon ? on: June 29, 2017, 05:03:25 AM
there are many reports which states that the coins sized my GOVT agencies will be auctioned soon...
if we do some calculation i think there are aprox 1000 BTC (maybe more) which are freeze by agencies from various counties

if i remember correctly Silkroad admin alone had 300+ BTC..

now if those reports are correct
and if those BTC again come to circulation
does it mean we can expect a huge decrease in BTC rate in future ?

A 1000btc dump into the market is a lot as at now to cause some shake in the market but not enough to take a massive hit. We will have some downward trend in price but it will bounce back. Even with that, I still feel we will still do well above $2000 mark.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do i get free coins? on: June 28, 2017, 09:33:10 PM
Often see some bounty post, how can I do to get free and have the potential coins, for example, in the bittalkcoin this forum on their product post, what is the request for my account? Activity quantity

I really need to give it to you to have made a 100 posts as a newbie but you have not been reading because aside faucets which is not common for alts, there is no free coins anywhere. Its either they are doing something in return maybe translating and managing the thread, or joining to spread the message both here and on social media. The other way is to invest early in ICOs which will give bonus for such early believers that could equally amount to free coins.
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Risks of investing in ICOs that are restricted to US residents? on: June 28, 2017, 08:39:13 PM
Hey guys,

Recently it seems that the good ICOs are being less available to US citizens. I know people still do it because, well crypto.

Anyone investing regardless of the restrictions and what are the risks of doing so?

In recent times, I have not seen any ICO that have locked out US citizens for any reason because its crypto and to me even if they block IPs, there are rooms for VPNs without any restrictions. I would appreciate if you can list some of them. Anyways, US is one country anyone does not wants to toy with when it comes to internet issues so to avoid matters of legal concerns, the best is just to avoid their citizens all together.
