361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you currently holding cryptocurrencies and now speculating what will happen? on: January 10, 2020, 11:56:49 AM
I have a lot of hold cryptocurrencies and most of them are came from bounty campaigns where I used to participate. Frankly, I am never expecting to earn a profit in some of my holdings but I really do hope that someday I could use them for something that would really be useful. I do also hold some cryptocurrencies that is capable of giving a huge profit. Those coins are listed in top-ranked in the market like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP, that is why I have a expectations from those coins.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on a cell phone on: January 08, 2020, 03:32:04 PM
If it is mining as in mining, that is not going to last long. If a CPU overheats and consumes a lot of electric energy, then a cell phone will have a shorter battery or life span. Think twice about this. You might end up buying a new cell phone every month.
Very well said. Mining uses a huge amount of energy and I don't think that phones can handle this kind of activity. If you want to mine then buy a mining rig because I phones can nothing to do with it. Besides, there will be halving again you need to upgrade your mining rig in order to solve those blocks. And even a computer I think would not be a good idea to use upon mining so better if you will purchase a mining rig.
363  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It’s very easy to trade Bitcoin on: January 08, 2020, 02:52:47 PM
It just a luck but not all times luck will save you in the market challenges. Trading bitcoin is not easy even though professional traders are losing because loss are inevitable. I often to trade bitcoin but my win rate is high, I lose small and I win big. I manage to make profit in bitcoin trading because I often to read books and journals that can help me to become a better and successful trader.
actually trade bitcoin, if you have patience, will not end in loss, because if you look at the price of bitcoin, in the end, it always increases. but of course, it takes a long time to recover. In the last 3 months, I have also been quite good in trade bitcoin, every drop below 7000 always fast recovers above 7000. but it does look easy, rather than altcoin trading which is more difficult and risky because it depends on bitcoin flows.
Patience is always in the key in this kind of market. Bitcoin is volatile, however, it takes some time to make a move. It is really easy to trade Bitcoin the only thing makes it hard to deal with is just because of our emotion. We tend to get to used FOMO especially the newbies but as you get used to it or when you have enough experience I am pretty sure you can handle it well. If you know the basics already I guess that would be enough to survive in this market.
364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery In Your Place on: January 08, 2020, 02:14:57 PM
In my country , lottery generally is offline and deals with fiat. Also , it is more famous among senior and retired folks as they have not much to lose and are not aware or dont have energy to play other gambling games. Lottery for them is simply game like tambola or bingo. I personally dont deal in lottery but my friend told me about few sites like lottoland.com and lotoanalyst. Check them out , not sure though.

those sites do also accept crypto or only support other payment method  ? op would be interested on it too  .  i have only tried the lottery on freebitco before but i havent experience to win yet but maybe it will depend on the number of your tickets as i only have small tickets  so the chance of winning is also slim but the usuall lotto works on picking and balling the number  . its more believable if they will only show the result in real time  and not only via randomizing sites .

Lottery in our country is more on fiat, I’m not sure if there any offline lottery available because most of the time I noticed that people in our country will visit a lottery outlet just place a bet and they use fiat currency for payment.  But if in any case there is an offline lottery then I think it is not a bad idea because you can place your bet anonymously and if you win no one will know that you won and you can securely save it in your account.
In my country also lottery is one of the famous betting they are doing every day I see many people are placing their numbers in a lottery outlet hoping to win, but I've never tried one, so maybe after trying once I will not try it again because let's be practical there is a very little chance of winning out of how many people are in my country, so instead of placing a bet I will just save the money and invest it to trading. But I guess for those who love lottery; an offline lottery will be a good choice for them.
Same here mate, lottery really does a popular gambling game in my country as well and just like you, I haven't tried it once in my life though its looks fun probably because it has a low chance of winning. I have a thought that instead of placing a bet in a lottery I could just place it in investment or other gambling games that has a higher chance of winning such as sports betting. But I will try it just for the sake of experience and if it caught my attention then I will probably consider to play it.
365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price on Chinese New Year on: January 08, 2020, 01:38:07 PM
I don't think that many people would sell their crypto hodings and especially Bitcoin for clothes or food. If you would hold an investment would you liquidate a part of it to pay some festive expenses or would you use fiat instead?
I don't think also that people are going to spend their Bitcoin now, the fact that they are now going to hold it until the halving. Bitcoin halving is now getting closer and everyone are preparing for it so I don't think they are going to spend it.
~snip~

Thats my opinion about bitcoin price on Chinese New Year, how about you guys? Let's discuss it  Grin
I don't think Chinese new year effects to Bitcoin price that much. On this occasion, people might need more money to prepare for the holiday but the percentage of Bitcoin user is very low and it doesn't require too much money.
Exactly. Besides, they can use their fiat instead of using crypto especially Bitcoin. I am not seeing any reason to sell their coins at a cheap price just to celebrate the Chinese new year so I don't think that there will have a big impact of celebrating that event in the price of the Bitcoin and other coins in the market.
366  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin have a price increase before the halving like we saw in 2016? on: January 08, 2020, 10:50:57 AM
In 2016 the halving was early July.  Depending on the exchange, the price was as follows:

May 1, 2016 $453
June 1, 2016 $536
July 1, 2016 just before the halving $677

The price increased about 50% from May 1 to July 1 just before the halving event.

Should we expect something similar this time?
There are some analyst says that Bitcoin halving won't do anything with the price and some other believes that bull run may not follow after the halving.
I'm having thoughts that if bull run won't hit this year then probably it will take an effect next year just like what happened in halving in 2016 where Bitcoins price surge 2017. There might be no bull happen this year but I am pretty sure that Bitcoin will pump.
367  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you holding Bitcoin? on: January 07, 2020, 03:21:01 PM
Yes I hold and save some Bitcoin.  Not too much indeed, but at least I have a Bitcoin deposit as a lock on my hopes someday.
All of us have some dreams and some planning about our investment so I also have some bitcoins and I am holding all of them for long term because I know with holding it will give me all what I want. Bitcoin is best coin for holding and it has huge potential to fulfil all your hopes related to bitcoin and I am also bitcoin long term holder.
Holding is surely the most important thing because when you are holding you will feel safe about the falling price of bitcoin but when you decide to sell just check the market price properly as most people make the wrong choice because of unawareness but they should make research and avoid selling at the wrong time. I am yet holding because I know the price of bitcoin can rise more than this with the passage of time.
I am also currently holding my Bitcoins and I am not planning to sell it now because I do believe that it could grow even more especially that the Bitcoin halving is now getting closer. For someone who seeking for a profit that doesn't have that much risk, I think HODL will be much perfect for you. I always prefer to earn this way because not all the time Bitcoin having a good price.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tricks and tips for esports betting on: January 07, 2020, 02:26:07 PM
Depends alot on the game, but teamwork counts alot for integrity of results and likelihood the team is practising together, etc.   I got alot more faith in an underdog bet when I believe that team has underlying potential to keep improving and surprising in their results, alot of that revolves around the team spirit being healthy.   The biggest mistake people make is counting results evenly when some games wont have the effort spent on them over others, some enemy teams or the map choice allows an easier result.
There are a lot of analysis that we need to know in order to win in Esports betting. Before you place a bet you need to know who's underdog and who's have upper hand. I often bet in dota 2 and I have high win rate because I always identifying the strength and the weaknesses of the team before I bet my money.
That is the right thing to do I guess. Knowing the limitations and the capabilities of a those team would be a better to do because this will be your guide on what team you are going to place your bet. Looking for match history could be helpful as well. And if you have some knowledge about the game then I am pretty sure that you are already aware who is in upper hand and who is the underdog.
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts about Bitcoin adoption on: January 07, 2020, 11:59:02 AM
we do not know the great people behind the development of bitcoin can make more than LN to be another solution, discussing the issue of mass adoption, it is actually easy if all the people in this forum introduce bitcoin en masse or expand it will be great, because there is no mass adoption without mass promotion, this is my open mind because it would not be possible for bitcoin to be famous today without any mass promotion
Exactly. However, we also should consider the thoughts of the government of each country across the world because a massive promotion will not be successful if the government appears to prohibit the use of this technology. Basically, what I am pointing out is that it should be started with our government before we do the massive adoption and in addition, the community itself is not enough for wide promotion we also need some help from the media.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in multiple altcoins on: January 06, 2020, 02:49:00 PM
Ok guys so I have 500 CAD left to invest in altcoins, I decided to invest 3000 CAD in bitcoin and leave it like that. So for that 500 CAD (377 USD), please tell me if this makes sense. (I want to own a broad portfolio of multiple coins that have good odds for the future). All amounts are in USD for a total of $370. I'm open to suggestions.

50    Ethereum
50   Ripple
50   Binance Coin
30   Litecoin
20   Enjin
10   Iota
30   Cardano
20   Stellar Lumens
10   VeChain Thor
10   Pundi X
10   Basic Attention Token
10   Ontology
10   Zilliqua
30   Monero
?   Eos
10   Tron
?   Zcash
10   Icon
?   Chainlink
any other ?
10   Dash

Well, I think it is not bad to invest in a lot of various coin but for some reason it would be more likely hard to handle because there's a lot of coins you need to monitor. I suggest to minimize it so that you could handle it more, choose the coins that is you will have more potential to give a profit. Yeah, it is good to diversify our investment but I think it is too much you must be have a lot of time aren't you?
371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Daily trade Vs long trade on: January 06, 2020, 01:46:35 PM
I am a newbie of trading so i don't have proper knowledge about trading. But honestly i want to be a trader. But first time which trading is best for me daily or long term?
Thanks in advance.
Based on my knowledge, these two different kind of trading cannot be compared to each other due to the fact they have their own advantages and disadvantages. However, for someone who don't have enough experience I would not recommend daily trade because this requires an intense technical analysis day by day. Therefore, long term would more likely fit for someone who recently enter this field.
372  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we getting a pump and dump for this month? on: January 06, 2020, 11:45:51 AM
One of the most commonly spouted tenets of cryptocurrency trading is “past performance is never an indicator of future success.” However, when the same pattern occurs three years in a row at almost exactly the same time, it can be easy to question the validity of this statement.

In this case, we are talking about the fact that Bitcoin (BTC) has witnessed a significant pump for the past three years at the beginning of January—gaining between 10% and 24% in the first week of the new year.

Source link here

January wasn't really good for the past two years. Will it repeat again?

Two years ago after the big BTC bull run, "The Great Bitcoin Crash" began in the mid-January and it ended up around $3k+ in December.

Last year, it started from $3k+ and it ain't that good either, but we finished above $7k last month. So almost $4k gained.

Will there really be a pump and dump for this month? I know that the market is so unpredictable now, but I wanna hear your reactions or thoughts about this one.

Thanks in advance.
Not very sure though but I guess this January of 2020 will be the same as 2018 and 2019. Bitcoin halving is expected will happen at the month of May and that is the only way I can think of that could make a price difference on Bitcoin. However, who know market is always unpredictable thus, there's a lot of thing could might happen.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Profit matters most in crypto currency on: January 06, 2020, 10:23:00 AM
My brothers, anything crypto currency is highly volatile, don't hope on a hopeless hope, whenever you see profit, take it.

I will keep saying it,
in crypto currency profit is the game, you can always take your profit no matter how small and you will be happier at d end

Like I always say, small money in ur bank account is far better than $3k in ur online crypto wallet/exchange,

it can only be better the moment it's converted to your local currency.

Invest in crypto, safeguard your profit.

NB: Just my believes and mindset, I would love to learn even further from everyone here.
Ignore my English too

Happy new year.
Not gonna lie, I mostly used crypto just for the sake of profit. For me profit is everything in crypto because of this currency I could able to buy and support my necessities. That is why no matter how big or how small the profit will be I still take the opportunity to earn it. I learned that we should not waste the opportunity because crypto market is always volatile and this will surely grow.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to know if a bitcoin trading is worth trusting? on: January 06, 2020, 06:24:24 AM
Hello all,

I am new to this whole bitcoin thing and know very little about it.

A few days ago I got added to a Telegram group which is run by a bitcoin & binary trader.

I am being proposed 100% ROI, with the trader claiming 95%+ success rate.

If I invest $500, I will get back $5000 within 5 days.

So, my question is - how do I know if this is legit or not before investing?

Their fees would be 15%.

Thanks
I think this definitely a scam yeah getting $5000 within 5 days seems possible however, looking on the market we have now it more likely impossible. It is obvious that this is scam because you won't get that amount in a single amount of time and you can easily determine whether the investment is scam or not if you have enough knowledge about this things. I recommend that you should study about the investment before place your fund.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Death of ICOs on: January 05, 2020, 02:37:46 PM
Let's wait, maybe after market conditions improve there will be potential for real projects to do such as crowdfunding events. For now the average project fails, because investors prefer those on the market today. Sometimes in addition to fake teams or plagiarism in whitepapers, scammers are now very clever to steal investors' money. One way to identify scam projects is that there are no recent innovations but only imitations, and there are no real activities, such as meetings.
I also think ICOs are now in not good condition because of the market we have now, so I guess we should wait until the bullish market before we make our conclusion. Mostly of ICOs are undeniably broken into pieces and because of scammers and fake team, ICOs are getting closer to its end. The fact that investors are now having doubt to place investment in some projects.
376  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do traders spend crypto when they can? on: January 05, 2020, 01:40:21 PM
I definitely think people should take profits regularly. You want to convert your profits into a house, a car, a lifestyle, otherwise, what's the point?

And yes, do support those crypto businesses that accept crypto and spend some of it. Otherwise the whole eco-system will die and the value of your crypto will die with it. If crypto just becomes speculation, then eventually the party will end. You need the eco-system underneath to be robust so that it can all continue.
Indeed, I think sometimes we should take some of our profit and spend in some stuff that would make us happy because if not then what is the point of getting profit. Besides, we need to circulate the those coins otherwise it will die. Moreover, some of us have no option but to spend the profit they got just to support their daily expenses.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Gambling on Mobile Devices on: January 05, 2020, 12:27:01 PM
Have you ever gambled from your mobile device (preferably smartphone)?

I know that some online gambling sites adapt themselves to mobile devices. But I'm talking about applications that you install on your phone which allow you to gamble anytime, anywhere. For Android, I've toppled with an app called "CoinPoker" which allows you to play Poker on the go with cryptocurrency. I'm sure there are other apps out there, but that's the only one I've found. For ETH-based gambling sites, I use the "Cipher" wallet to interact with them on my phone. Per my experience, it's much more convenient to gamble on a mobile device than a computer. But everyone has their unique preferences within the mainstream world.

If you happen to know of good Android apps which allow you gamble with crypto, please let me know. Also, feel free to share your experience when gambling using a mobile device. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley
Upon my time playing in this crypto gambling industry I always prefer to play on my smartphones due to the fact that is way more convenient for me. But I never heard any gambling applications where you can play in through use of crypto so I have no choice but to use my phone's browser and so far I have no problem upon using it since the their website is compatible with it.
378  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will Bitcoin do next in the near term? on: January 05, 2020, 11:46:55 AM
So Bitcoin has been sitting around $7000 for quite a while now.

What do you think the next significant move will be? Up or down? Down to low <=$6000s or up to >=$8000s?

And when do you think it'll make this next move? Jan? Feb? Later?
Not sure though but I guess Bitcoin will still sit around $7000 or simply became stable by the month of January and February. The halving is expected to occur on May so I guess there will be only a movement after that event. But who knows Market is always unpredictable there might be something happen that is hardly enough for Bitcoin to make a move.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Survey: if you have $50k fiat ,will you invest in btc or put it in bank? on: January 05, 2020, 11:02:20 AM
Just what the title says if you have $50k fiat ,will you put on btc or in bank ,which of them will give you bigger profit after 10 years? Your money will gain interest when you put in a bank, your already sure the amount will increase, or put it on btc and leave it for 10 years. Which is better?
$50k is quite huge amount and it will be too risky if I will put it in all in Bitcoin hence, I will split it into different kind of investment because I do believe that never put all of your eggs in one basket. Probably I'll place the 30% for investing on Bitcoin, another 30 will be in banks and the rest will be use to have my own business so I can have my passive income.
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Extra weeks added to bounty campaign on: January 04, 2020, 01:27:50 PM
To all bounty hunters on this wonderful forum i want to know if its advisable to continue with the bounty you have been promoting for 12weeks that got extra 8weeks added more, have you promote projects this long that ends up with good end results? Thank you
I have participated in a number of projects that experienced an additional duration of several weeks. But this happened around 2017. And at that time almost all who received extraweek succeeded in the project. For now, I suggest you check beforehand how many sales the project has received. If it is large, I suggest you continue to follow. If it's small, you have to think about it because you don't want to waste your time later
Just like you I have been also experience to participate in several bounty campaigns that used to extend the duration of their sales and yeah some of it became succeed somehow. However, before you take and proceed in extended week make sure that you'll get an enough reward but if not then leave it because just like you what you have mentioned it will be just a waste of time.
