3601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the ex-PM Portugal scandal be good for bitcoin? on: November 24, 2014, 11:15:16 PM
Moving so much money from the banking system to bitcoin would not help his situation, he would still get caught, besides that, what would he do with a few million euros in bitcoin?

It is being said that his driver was bringing him loads of cash from Portugal to Paris in a car, not long ago. Using bitcoin would make much more sense, I reckon.

It would leave a similar digital trail, plus what would he do with a bunch of bitcoins in Paris?

You cannot buy a 3 million euro apartment in Paris with bitcoin, or pay for college tuition.

It's too much money to get away with without a really good plan, plus he recently said on national television he had no investments, no savings and he had to take a loan for his tuition in France, this was clearly a lie...
3602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the ex-PM Portugal scandal be good for bitcoin? on: November 24, 2014, 10:59:52 PM
I have almost absolute certainty he does not hold bitcoins.

Impact for bitcoin is nil.

Using bitcoin would not have help in his case.

How can you be so certain?
Also, why do you think bitcoin would be of no use to him? Couldn't he use it as a safe store of value?

Bitcoin is almost unknown in Portugal, he started receiving bribes in the 90's way before the invention of bitcoin.

Nice video, and I think it's amazing finding so many people on the streets who even had heard about bitcoin.
3606  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Facism making a comeback? on: November 22, 2014, 03:47:32 AM
in the last couple of decades Fascism has been slowly gaining traction throughout Europe(other radical groups such as communist have as well). Now some of these parties will claim to not be fascist while others will strait out say they are. here is a list of a few, and what are your thoughts on the rise of fascism and could it make a comeback.

http://theweek.com/article/index/261659/how-fascism-returned-to-europe

Fascism is not xenophobic right.

Fascism is a style of socialism.

Nop, actually fascism is quite hostile to socialism.

And saying fascism is xenophobic right is quite accurate because it is a 'style' of nationalism.

Can you use a service like Sedo for the sale?

I think it's better to do so.

I have an account with SEDO although not sure how to use it really. But, you are saying this will protect it ?

They want me to use http://dn-tools.domaincertifications.net/certification.htm to verify I own it and no Trademark ( but, i have to pay for it ) which makes me suspect.

I don't think that website is legit:

Thanks for the heads up! figured something was up!

I guess that's the scam, they bait you with a big sale for a domain and require you to buy that 'certification', you buy the 'certification' and that's it, they got that money.

I've been a proponent of free opensource software since 2000 or so, I've deal a lot with this argument when it comes to linux, and now it is probably the most used OS in the world.
