Thank you all for your support!!! It is great to have such a supportive community.

The bug is fixed and the code is patched. There will be a hard fork at block 537500, which gives us a couple days to get everyone to update prior to the fork. New version is 1.2.

The updated source code is available here:
https://github.com/DNotesCoin/DNotes
All pools and exchanges will need to update their daemon to the latest version of the code.

New windows wallet here:
http://dnotescoin.com/dnotes-1.2-win.zip
Windows user can simply extract the files from the zip file and open dnotes-qt.exe. You may disregard the previous dnotes-qt.exe. No need to modify any data files, or change any existing files, your wallet.dat and backups will work with the new upgrade seemlessly.

We will have a new Mac wallet soon, thanks to DNotesPool for the help on the Mac wallets!

Once we mine up to block 537500, the reward will be back to normal. In the meantime, we will continue to add transaction fees to the network to help compensate for the block reward.

I will be emailing the pools and exchanges and services that may have a DNotes daemon running.

Just a quick update. There will be an upcoming patch soon, the fix will require a fork. As soon as we are ready, we will provide everyone the updated source code to update the daemon and start notifying everyone, as well as provide the new desktop wallets.
3604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOTE]DNotes - Open House 2/17 and 2/18 1 yr anniversary on: February 18, 2015, 05:13:10 PM
We have identified a bug that specifically applies the issuance of block reward to miners. It does not affect our normal operations or the integrity of our network security. You can continue to send and receive funds using DNotes as usual.

We need to figure out the best method for deploying a resolution. In the meantime, we are asking if DNotesPool is able to add a bonus block finder reward, and move most of the hashrate there. As always, we welcome suggestions from our community and appreciation your contribution.

FYI: Was getting around 200 NOTE per day, now showing 1.07

Thanks RJF, that is the issue we are working on.
Yep, saw that after posting. Always remember to refresh!  Cheesy

For the time being, I am sending large transaction fees through the network in an effort to compensate for the missing block reward.

That's very nice of you but it just complicates matters even more for many pool owners - we have the responsibility of trying to figure out who get's what from each block found - there's no 'magic button; we can push to do those calculations.

Lifeforce Pools is closed until the real problem is resolved. I am looking forward to a real fix to the problem - until that time arrives our pool will remain closed.

thanks for your prompt reply to my message to you and I will be forwarding the payment addresses and the the number of pool shares for all the affected miners on the pool so that you can disperse the funds accordingly.

kindest regards

Thanks for the heads up. We will do everything we can to get it fixed asap.

Bitcoin Alternative DNotes Launches Long Term Saving Plans With Potential To Aid The Unbanked And Retirees Worldwide

Stable cryptocurrency DNotes launches new Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plans (CR.I.S.P) for Retirement. Long term saving plans will receive up to 12% yearly interest bonus on their deposit with a 1 million DNotes limit on the bonus interest offered and 100% deposit guarantee

CHICAGO, IL / ACCESSWIRE / February 18, 2015 / Stable cryptocurrency Dnotes, after the successful launch of Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plan (CR.I.S.P) for Kids, is pleased to announce their latest long term savings plan for Retirement. CR.I.S.P. allows people worldwide from all financial backgrounds to set up savings accounts with the potential of high returns. Individuals that commit to long term DNotes deposit of 5, 10, 15, or 20 year duration will receive up to 12% yearly interest bonus on their deposit with a 1 million DNotes limit on the bonus interest offered and 100% deposit guarantee.

DNotes is a Bitcoin alternative cryptographically created digital currency based on a novel decentralized peer to peer model, where trust is replaced by mathematical algorithms, eliminating the need of an intermediary such as a bank or an automatic clearing house. Assets of value such as Bitcoin, DNotes, and other cryptocurrencies can be sent and received in minutes anytime, anywhere, worldwide without the oversight of any central authority. It takes as little as two simple cell phones, or computers with an internet connection to send and receive funds.

CR.I.S.P. rests on the web wallet and secure coin storage platform DnotesVault.com; a secure and a strategic vehicle of DNotes to become the digital currency of the future with lasting value. Its mission is to encourage and assist everyone, worldwide, to support and participate in the high potential returns of digital currency savings. The DNotes' team has gone to great lengths to ensure that the user interface is simple to use and easy to understand. The technology and process control, while complex, make it so secure that a 100% guarantee matching fund, always in excess of the total amount in deposited, exists with the guaranteed fund being displayed with addresses and amounts verifiable on the blockchain.

Bitcoin as a digital currency and the associated blockchain technologies are viewed by many highly regarded industry leaders as the greatest technology innovation since the Internet. The distributed and consensus technologies coupled with the blockchain protocols have significant and positive world changing implications.

DNotes co-founder and experienced computer entrepreneur Alan Yong has been quoted saying, "We never had and never will have a better opportunity to help the financially disadvantaged and the enormous population of the unbanked who have little means of rising from poverty."

Unlike the costly credit and debit card payment network systems, where personal information is always at risk of being stolen with huge identity theft liabilities, DNotes transactions are only identified by a string of numbers, valuable for reference and tracking only. All transactions are posted in the blockchain public ledger and available for public inspection and verification. The complexities built in the hash functions make the successfully confirmed transactions impossible to reverse; thereby avoiding potential fraud and huge cost burdens to merchants who often have been exposed to such risk when accepting credit and debit card payments.

Mr. Yong explains that for mass consumer and mass merchant participation to take place, there must be a stable trustworthy digital currency like DNotes to deliver the true cost advantages of an alternative form of payment, beyond just the lower cost of transactions.

As reported, the richest 1% of the world's population will own more than the other 99% put together by next year and according to a 2012 World Bank published report there are over 2.5 billion people worldwide who are under-served or not served by banks and financial service companies. These groups, collectively known as the unbanked have limited opportunities to emerge from poverty. DNotes digital currency is the future of money with growth and appreciation potential for early adopters and long term investors. It also has the potential to change the wealth of nations and their citizens, when supported with favorable regulations. Under the right political leadership that has a deep knowledge and appreciation of this powerful technology, massive job creation could be the much needed impetus to propel the next global economic bloom that can benefit more than just the rich.

With DNotes long term Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plans for Retirement, with up to 12% yearly interest bonus with a 1 million DNotes limit on the bonus interest offered following the well-received launch of CR.I.S.P. for Kids - DNotes may very well be a game-changer in terms of long term cryptocurrencies and their impact on personal wealth on a global scale.

Virtual currency is not legal tender, is not backed by the government, and accounts and value balances are not subject to FDIC and other consumer protections. This press release is for informational purposes only and should not be taken as investment advice.

I'm DNotes pool operator. Should I take any action? What will hapen with rewards for these blocks?

Hi Wargo, thank you. Sent a PM.

If any pool operators would like to setup a block finder reward funded by us in the meantime, that would be helpful.

I've setup 25NOTE bonus for finder and 1% bonus to all miners on DNotes Pool

Thank you! Checking into a couple of other temporary solutions as well.

Happy birthday DNotes. It's hard to believe that just over one year ago today, I was losing hair trying to find a stable altcoin to mine. Sure making money by inadvertently investing in pump and dump schemes can be easy, but it gives the whole industry a black eye. Then like a single ray of sun on a cloudy day, there was DNotes.

My digital currency venture began in 2013 after missing a huge profit in Bitcoin, on a small investment. I first heard about Bitcoin from a co-worker while I was still firefighting. At first I didn't get the concept, and mocked it repeatedly because, "it had to be a ponzi scheme". But after seeing how much the price went up, I decided to gamble some of my savings. With very little knowledge, I started trading prior to the Mt. Gox bot induced price spike. Feeling pretty confident from my smart (100% luck) investment, I decided to research the industry more.

When I first found Altcoins, the same thing went through my head every time, "imagine if that were worth as much as Bitcoin". Litecoin was the first cryptocurrency I ever mined, and my first GPU rig ran at a mere 150 kh/s. I switched to Feathercoin next, because it was slightly more profitable. From then until the launch of DNotes, I mined probably over 100 different currencies. Devoting resources to untrustworthy investments was a big mistake, because 95% of those currencies are now worthless.

Two months after coming across DNotes, I founded Fire Fighters for Digital Currency (FF4DC). FF4DC is a Non Profit organization, intended to raise digital currency awareness in the firefighter community, and help their organizations prosper. There were 5 currencies I inteded to support, which appeared to be in this for the right reasons. However, there was only one that had any intention of supporting my cause, and that was DNotes. All the help and advice they have provided me has been invaluable.

It's a huge honor to have been named Director of CR.I.S.P. for Charity. I've started doing some leg work, targeting Veterans and Firefighter organizations, on behalf of CR.I.S.P. for Charity and V4DC/FF4DC. We have had some interest, and are in the process of forming key partnerships that will help make CR.I.S.P. for Charity a success. Being the last CR.I.S.P. to launch is a huge advantage, because the previously launched programs will have done a lot of the necessary groundwork. I have some interesting ideas on how the CR.I.S.P. programs, V4DC and FF4DC can work in conjunction with each other, and will be in touch with the other directors over the next couple days.

Cheers to one year, and a great open house!

Thank you CryptoBroker79, we are proud to have you and will help in any way we can!

I just know from start to finish this project is the most worth while, one year and ticking with growth that makes the banks shudder and always someone to talk to on the forum ...I started mining this with 1 partner and then added my uncle with my friend ..to then incorporate my father and have tried to get many others to read and realize the potential of the current Devs of this coin and to look back on how much garbage has come out of crypto and see the light of the next Bitcoin (Dnotes) and realize there is a new future here.. now get the hash rate up and make lite coin quake,do your part to make others realize what the future is and the potential growth this offers. STOP looking to just make a quick profit and make a REAL future investment in a vehicle that might actually make it to the destination with YOU helping to drive it there. Thanks for reading my post and in a world running thin on faith just push a little harder for this one and never say I give up.... Eric

Great post Eric, thank you!

DNotes stands out in the crypto world and will certainly achieve it's goals if we continue to support and contribute to that growth. Like you I truly believe in the project and can see a day when DNotes is well known world wide. If other coins adopted the same values and focused on long term adoption, the whole crypto world would take a giant step forward!

Thanks Eric, indeed another great post! It is up to everyone to make sure DNotes is successful, and every bit helps. Even sharing your story for others to see get inspiration from helps.

Hey Dnotes! Happy Birthday  Smiley

My first mined coins came in on March 10th 2014, at a little past 10pm at night. I had learned of Dnotes somewhere along the way after realizing my GPU farm was slowly taking a backseat to Asics when mining BTC. So the search was on for a stable Alt coin that would be suitable for my GPU's. Hence I found Dnotes and boy it sure has been a great ride, in regards to mining. The early days were more profitable than I could have ever imagined for an Alt. For the past year now, Dnotes has been my primary coin to mine. Not sure how many coins that is but is well into the thousands and thousands. Now I only wish I had sat on them, had I done so, I could looking at a very nice retirement portion just from Dnotes Smiley But its all good.

A special thanks to the coin dev, team and community on an excellent well managed well maintained coin with a lot of vision for the future. The very things that most other coins are very lacking in! I know I haven't posted much nor contributed a lot to this thread, but going forward I will try to lend support wherever I can.

Again, Happy Birthday and congrats on a job well done! Lets make the next year even better  Cool

Hi everyone.

I got a forum posting education from my kids so I could try and help out with your open house.  The education came with a lot of eye rolling  Roll Eyes and sighing as I am the ONLY mother on the planet that doesn't know how to use Facebook, Twitter, or a forum.  This seems like a really friendly bunch here and I haven't seen anyone who looks like they might bite, so I will start by telling you my retirement story.

Both my husband and I work hard and save for retirement.  He has a pretty good government pension that he will get when he retires in about 10 -15 years.  My savings are mostly in mutual funds and the magic number is no where close to where it should be at this point in my life.  2009 was a real blow to my retirement fund.  We both contributed to Canada Pension Plan which we will receive at 65 but it won't be much.  I was told you are supposed to be debt free 10 years before you retire and with a mortgage and kids in university, we just seem to keep spinning our wheels.

We seem to have missed out on every gold rush, oil boom, and internet craze that came along.  When a friend explained DNotes to me, even though I didn't understand anything technical about it, I knew I had to take a chance.  I won't cry if I lose the $100, but I will cry if it becomes the best investment in history and I had a chance to get in on it and didn't.

Thank you everyone for giving me this chance and I'm holding you all to all the case of wine promises you made. Smiley

Thank you for sharing your story MarriedWithChildren. We are glad to have you and appreciate you taking the time to post on the forum ( and to endure the eye rolling education to do it Wink ). It means a lot to us and drives us even more to make DNotes as successful as we know it can be. If there is anything we can do to help, just let us know.

Great job, infovortice2013. You must have stayed up all night to bake that delicious looking Birthday Cake for DNotes. I am sure it was done with much love. Thank you and Happy Birthday to DNotes with every best wishes to everyone and all.

Thank you infovortice2013! Here is a little snippet from the article.

Great job!
