3601  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency scam tricks newbies might fall for. on: August 13, 2021, 02:05:57 AM
As cryptocurrency grows in popularity, more people are trying to scam it, and most of them are going after newbies who they believe don't know much about cryptocurrency or are new so they can easily scam them.
The thing is, they are actually not going after newbies per se, I'd not like newcomers in the network to have the erroneous perception that they are basically the target of scammers, they are after crypto users who are allured by "offers that look too good to be true", what that means is that, it's greedy individuals that are the main target for scammers, and anyone can be greedy, newcomer, old timer etc, thus users should know when something looks absolutely "too good to be true", then learn the operations of scammers and generally develop their knowledge of crypto, but mind you that someone who is in the network just basically to "get rich quick" would ignore all this, cause they are only motivated by avarice and as such every thing would then look like an opportunity to make quick returns, and thus will lead to the loss of their funds.
3602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 12, 2021, 08:24:11 PM
Well, Inter still needs to pay 55€ to Manchester so Cheesy not so a good deal for Inter.

They sold him and they will probably replace him with Dzeko who is currently 35 years old.
That is absolutely crazy, replacing Lukaku with Dzeko, tbh, I don't see Inter making the top in the Italian Seria A this season, even if they are in any financial crisis of any sort, I think the club still needs to put in a little effort and do more, they can't lose everyone, including their manager and replace them with low quality players, that is not fair to the fans, they would go from being champions to have a terrible season the following campaign, and then, I still expect more good players to leave, they would have to go, so they'll enjoy their football elsewhere.
3603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin being decentralised an illusion? on: August 12, 2021, 05:40:30 PM
Then if it is said that Bitcoin has reached the highest decentralization, will it change the existing program system on the Blockchain temporarily to centralization?
I think we are final, that when Bitcoin has reached its highest decentralization, it doesn't mean it's all over.
The thing is I actually do not comprehend what you mean by "highest decentralization", Bitcoin has always been that way, decentralized. That (decentralized) nature wasn't gradually improving or growing, it was that way on the inception of the technology/network, that's why I find it pretty difficult to understand what you mean by if it has reached it's highest decentralization. But that said, and whatever you mean, you should understand that the network can never change to a centralized system, it will always be free from the control of the governments as its users will always "be their own bank".
3604  Other / Archival / Re: [LIST] The Introduction of Bitcoin Into the Global Economy on: August 12, 2021, 04:17:46 PM
Bitcoin adoption continues...
It's absolutely continuing, I mean, all this announcements/news were big when we heard/read about them after they were published, but bringing them together in one thread somewhat exposes users to how many they actually are, and tbh, Bitcoin adoption has definitely improved in the past one year, thus that means mainstream adoption is a possibility somewhere down the road.

I don't think I'd be wrong to say the pandemic has had a lot to play in Bitcoins adoption in the last one year, I'm not saying it has been the sole factor, but the fall of traditional economies, inflation, plus government policies that society is still feeling the brunt of, and then the fact that Bitcoin was to a large extent unaffected by the pandemic and all, has allured quite a lot of people to the Bitcoin network, increasing their believe in the network as a possible "safe haven" (though it may not be there yet), and a hedge to devaluing fiat currencies.
3605  Economy / Economics / Re: Out of control and rising: why bitcoin has Nigeria’s government in a panic on: August 12, 2021, 03:53:15 PM
It seems many of nigeria's ruling elites were shocked by nigerians being able to circumvent the central banks bans. I hope this encourages them to buy bitcoin and HODL. Rather than store their wealth in their countries native inflationary currency, which appears to be losing value by the day. It is surreal to see nigeria's government continue to insist "bitcoin is not real money" when btc is a more stable and reliable asset than the nigerian government's native fiat currency.
I second that as well, but the thing is I'm pretty sure the Nigerian government being incompetent as they have always been are yet to fully do their research to understand Bitcoin and why it's so popular in Nigeria. The Nigerian government are only concerned with the negative information that the media has to say about Bitcoin every now and then, and they have acted on that to issue their own kind of ban on the currency. Having said that, I think the Nigerian government are renowned for "firing at the wrong target", if you live in Nigeria you'd understand exactly what I'm talking about, the situation on ground is pretty bad, instead of working on improving the Nigerian economic situation and other whatnots, the government still goes after things that a fair amount of it's citizens are enthused about, and making a little pocket money out of. The ban is an easy one to bypass though, and I was very sure Nigerians would bypass it, I just hope this doesn't move the government to issue an outright ban on crypto.

The Nigerian Naira has definitely "seen better days", it is presently experiencing severe inflation, I'm not saying Bitcoin should be used in the place of the Naira, but the Nigerian government should freely allow Nigerians to decide the currency they want to use, Naira, Bitcoin or both.
3606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are meme/NFT investment really worth the hype they're getting?. on: August 11, 2021, 09:03:05 PM
Why risk it all on meme and NFT when you can simply buy Bitcoin or other legit coins and profit in the future. We have to stop giving this rich bastard and scammers the room to scam us and ripoff of our money. Stop this worthless investment and Invest in the right things to secure a bright future.
The problem stems from the erroneous ideology that crypto is all about "getting rich quick", these investors are aware of "lottery" coins that have given massive profits (through luck) to one or two investors in the short period, but Bitcoin on the other hand is a long term project, thus this investors do not have the patience to invest in a coin that actually has a use case and that will give ROI with time, they rather want to go for pump and dump coins and hope they get in at the right time and make profits when it pumps, but unfortunately, that's not always the case, as they most times lose their funds.

Having said that, the inability of investors to do a good research on what they intend to invest in is also a problem and a cause of mistakes people make, I'd actually not blame most of these prominent individuals, if people handle their investment matters independently, then this rich people would not have anyone to make money out of.
3607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum @4k on: August 11, 2021, 08:42:59 PM
As, the entire cryptocurrency market is in the green mood and the bull run is gaining momentum ethereum price at the moment is already above $3k which is a sign that ethereum will reach $4k before the end of this week that is a week after the ethereum London hard forks. Just my prediction.
It could prolly take longer than the end of this week, but one thing is for sure, and that is that, ethereum is definitely heading for $4k sooner rather than later, Ethereum has been doing quite well in the market and I expect that to continue as the coin chases another all time high, it's safe for Eth hodlers to regard the coin as a long term investment, the eth network is quite different from a lot of altcoins that are more or less pump and dump, eth looks more like a project that's going to be sustainable for the long period and if you ask me, it's actually not a bad idea at all to hodl ethereum.
3608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 11, 2021, 07:58:54 PM
He wants to leave but he can't since his president doesn't care at all if he will leave for free.
If that news is true, then I think PSG are actually doing a pretty bad business in the transfer market, after recently acquiring Messi's signature as well as other signings, they definitely have to make money as well for themselves from the sale of players that want to leave, if Mbappe wants to go, and the club is so sure he wants to leave, I see no reason why they should hold him back.

Having said that, why would the club be willing to miss out on over 100 million, because Mbappe would definitely cost around that amount, only to keep him and later let him go for free, that's actually a bad idea, notwithstanding how rich the club actually is.
3609  Economy / Economics / Re: Can developing countries follow El Salvador use Bitcoin? on: August 08, 2021, 03:05:45 PM
The developing countries are the worst to be friendly to bitcoin especially here in Africa where they should have risk some country reserve like allocating perhaps 2% to bitcoin but they wouldn't, they would rather allow their citizens involved in ponzi scheme and fraud each other and that's why the development remain stagnant.
I second you there, but I think some of this developing countries are just following in the footsteps of the developed ones like China. China and many other developed countries are working on CBDC's and regulating Bitcoin and other dex crypto, so their citizens do not have to choose the digital currency to hodl, cause the government knows majority would definitely choose Bitcoin; thus what they do is just issue sanctions and increase hostility to Bitcoin.

Having said that, instead of developing countries that are faced with myriad of problems to concentrate on solving them, as well as embrace Bitcoin as a currency that can help their citizens individually, they instead want to act like developing countries and try to create their own CBDC, Nigeria is a very good example, tbh, they really have no reason for working on a centralized digital currency, they rather should be trying to solve inflation issues affecting the Nigerian Naira and other pressing issues, but they want to follow in the actions of developed countries and sooner rather than later they will run out of resources to keep up and thus run into trouble.
3610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 08, 2021, 02:40:28 PM
Lautaro to Tottenham seems to be done. Good deal for them, both in case if Kane stays or not. 70 million euros is a lot of money in this market but Lautaro is young, has room to improve and is already an established international.
It could actually even mean Tottenham are already preparing for 'life' without Harry Kane, it is no longer news that City are very much interested in Harry Kane, I don't know if Spurs will be able to prevent him from leaving this season or maybe even next, but I'm pretty sure Kane's time in Spurs will come to an end sooner rather than later, Kane wants to win trophies, and if we're to be honest, Spurs don't look like they are winning any trophies anytime soon.

Having said that, Lautaro Martinez is a top striker, he'll help Spurs a lot and I think he'll also develop personally, if Kane doesn't leave this season, then the better as they'll both partner up front and be lethal to opposition defenders.
3611  Economy / Economics / Re: Ukraine is the "island of crypto freedom" in Europe, what to expect ? on: August 08, 2021, 09:43:20 AM
I have been living in Ukraine for 3 years now, considering this is my fourth year, I can honestly give a good opinion.
It's actually great to get the opinion of one living in the country we're discussing about, and tbh, I'm actually elated to read your posts and what you have to say about the condition of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in Ukraine, and prolly the Ukrainian government may actually turn out to be different from the others, we'll just have to wait and see. I'd actually be surprised and I'm as well keeping my fingers crossed to see if the Ukrainian government will take absolutely no action in regulating or stopping the freedom at which people can use Bitcoin when the virtual hryvnia is officially out, but for now, going by your experiences you just narrated, Ukraine sure seems like a wonderful place to use Bitcoin compared to many other parts of the world.
3612  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Signal trap, a self-conscious scam on: August 07, 2021, 11:14:00 PM
Even if someone have to make use of free signyal, he must already been an expert, if not an expert, the person will definitely lose, whike paid signals are complete scam.
I know not all traders are on the same par, some are better experienced than others due to more research and learning, but I'd try as much as possible not to refer to them or call any trader an expert, at least for the sake of newbies, some of these signal groups have scammed quite a lot of people impersonating themselves as 'experts', newcomers in the network are always hungry for experts to teach them how to "get rich quick" which is the first mistake they make, but in the long run, they learn there are actually no set in stone experts in the network, but that must be after they have lost some money.
3613  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful of low marketcap coins on: August 07, 2021, 10:33:50 PM
When I came into contact with cryptocurrencies, someone told me not to touch those altcoins. You would become the person who carried the sedan chair.
Even after quite a lot of pump and dump experiences, exit scams, shitcoins and the rest, investors still time and again fall for the possibility of altcoins to make them rich, the thing is users who choose many altcoins and randomly invest in them are just basically looking to "get rich quick" through crypto, some of them hardly even do the tiniest bit of research on what they are putting their funds into, they just go in like it's a "lottery" and hope it can produce ROI in some time. Having said that I wouldn't even tell users to chose from coins within a certain amount or from the top or bottom of cmc, if you're a long term investor, then what you need is a coin that's sustainable for the long period, and it's Bitcoin, if you want to invest only shortly, then you can look in the direction of some of these altcoins and hope your money doesn't 'go away'.
3614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 07, 2021, 09:18:30 PM
Inter had a great run last year,...
Yeah, they absolutely did, and tbh, I was hoping they were going to continue this season in the same way they finished last season and keep pushing Juventus to their limit, but I think neither of my hopes is coming into fruition, the club are losing every single pillar that made them champions last season, first from the manager Antonio Conte, to their key striker Lukaku and a host of others that are prolly on their way out as well.

I feel really disappointed, especially for Inter fans, I'm pretty sure many of them were expecting their team to replicate what they had last season, but from what I hear they are in a financial mess, one they can't solve without selling their key players, I think Juve will be the ones enjoying what's happening at Inter right now, as they can capitalize on this and reclaim their trophy. It took Inter quite a long time to build this team that just recently became champions again, I don't know how long it'll take them now to assemble another team worthy of being champions.
3615  Economy / Economics / Re: Ukraine is the "island of crypto freedom" in Europe, what to expect ? on: August 07, 2021, 12:55:33 PM
3. A virtual hryvnia (the national currency of Ukraine) is being prepared to enter the market
I don't think Ukraine is planning to be crypto friendly for the benefits of the common citizen, what they actually want to do is create their own centralized currency (virtual hryvnia) for their advantage, with the virtual hryvnia, Ukraine will be able to monitor users of the currency, denying them of their privacy, which is exactly what the government is known for; I think the whole reason for generalizing their intentions in the direction of them being crypto friendly is basically so people get the erroneous message and think they'll embrace crypto in general, but I honestly doubt that.

I mean, think of it, why would they be preparing to launch their virtual hryvnia and still nurse the idea of being free to other forms of decentralized cryptocurrency, the thing is whenever a country starts to work on CBDC's, you must understand that sooner or later, they'll hardly want to entertain any other form of decentralized currency that would pose as a sort of competition to their own digital currency that they are controlling.
3616  Economy / Economics / Re: Can developing countries follow El Salvador use Bitcoin? on: August 07, 2021, 12:32:16 PM
So will more countries follow El Salvador to use Bitcoin as legal tender?
No, I'll definitely not put my money on that happening, I mean with all the talk of CBDC's and regulations, I'm pretty sure many countries do not have Bitcoin in their plans at all, what you need to understand is that Bitcoin is decentralized and can't be controlled by the government, neither do they appreciate the idea of making something they can't control or print a legal tender in their country.

I think it's only normal for governments to be hostile to Bitcoin, they do not want people to control their funds, neither do they want individuals to keep their privacy by being their own bank, thus nursing the hopes that soon many countries would make Bitcoin a legal tender is more or less like raising false hopes. But mind you that despite all the negativity from the government, Bitcoin is definitely going mainstream as sooner or later many more people would take up the responsibility of being their own bank through Bitcoin.
3617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The one with the mirror behind on: August 06, 2021, 07:24:25 PM
I understand the point you're making, and I somewhat share in your thoughts or paranoia as some people would call it, though I don't think it actually is, the thing is, for whatever it is worth you should try not to open wallets, accounts profile or any aspect of your account that will display your passwords, personal data or your funds when you're in public, especially when you're close to people or in a place were there could be cameras or prying eyes, the actual danger may not be too high, but being as security conscious as possible isn't bad at all.

The thing is, since people erroneously believe crypto people are rich, there could prolly be a danger of a $5 wrench attack if someone gets to know you're into crypto or sees how much your have through accidentally seeing your wallets or one of your profiles/accounts.
3618  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What motivates you to start investing in cryptocurrency? on: August 06, 2021, 05:22:58 PM
I've said this a couple of times, and I don't mind saying it again, my interest in Bitcoin stems from the fact that I have the sole responsibility of being my own bank, quite a lot of people do not know exactly what that means and the advantages it entails, when you talk about traditional financial systems, it's the government that are in control, they are free to print their currency how they feel, notwithstanding the consequences of inflation or not.

Having said that, how can one who is concerned about their funds, how to protect it and their privacy not be interested in Bitcoin, thus that's the reason why I'm in the network, cause of the control of funds and freedom Bitcoin offers, and then the possibility of great ROI in the long run, it is just the perfect blend of what any who is concerned about their funds like myself wants.
3619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Phenomenal Bitcoin In The Current Generation on: August 06, 2021, 04:57:03 PM
But what about the condition of bitcoin in 5 or 6 years, considering that there are so many coins that are starting to appear, are they able to maintain their position and so is the value of buying/selling bitcoin?
Tbh, I'm not worried about the condition or state of Bitcoin in the future, even if I'm to be, it would be on the basis of regulations and government trying to issuing sanctions to hinder the development of Bitcoin and not even cause of more and more altcoins that are being created, Altcoins have been created in large numbers for quite a long time now, and they are basically just all alternatives, and not threats.

The thing is that Bitcoin is a long term project and many altcoins are not, they are more or less pump and dump and shit coins, thus there is no way they can challenge the position of Bitcoin on the network, buying Bitcoin would always be the better choice and more valuable than any altcoins, it actually has a use case which many altcoins do not have, if you're planning on investing in crypto, Bitcoin should be your top priority, then or altcoins, eth is a pretty good alternative.

3620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How will Ethereum survive without Vitalik? on: August 06, 2021, 04:24:44 PM
I think it's difficult to understand what will happen to the progress, development and sustainability of Ethereum in the absence of Vitalik, I think the circumstances surrounding his exit is what matters the most, if for example, Vitalik actually plans his exit from the Eth network, then I don't think there will be too much of a problem, cause he would prepare how exactly he'll handover the network and what he'll want the continuity to be like, that is in the case of a premeditated exit.

But having said that, if Vitalik is to leave unexpectedly on the occurrence of an unforeseen circumstance, then it could be disastrous for the network as it'll take quite a lot of time to balance things out in the absence of Vitalik.
