Profit with the LBRY sp-mod

LBRY @ 520MHASH

1080ti single card  $6.26 per day

(source whattomine.com)

really nice with a single card, but the card is too expensive, maybe better to go with a 1080? now with the 1080 and the price cut i find it a good option
3602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PIVX hits 2$+ on: April 16, 2017, 04:59:46 PM
Doesn't matter much that it launched fairly. The code is open source so anyone can relaunch any coin with features from 2-3 different projects and claim theirs is better.
Best example is bitcoin, almost every other project out there is better than bitcoin, but they aren't worth shit because they aren't original.

People won't move money from one project to another just because every other day another "coin" appears out of thin air and does something better. Unless it's not a clone and it's something original, like ethereum. Look at the ethereum clones mcap and see the difference.

etheruem isn't that original either, ethereum is similar to maidsafe, there are no original project, everything is based on bitcoin like you said early, everything is a clone of bitcoin, if you can't come up with something that don't use the blockchain you will always making a bitcoin clone, this is how i see it, if you want to stay original make somethign better than the blockchain as a decentralized public ledger
3603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When LTC Segwit will trigger? on: April 16, 2017, 04:55:25 PM

According to https://bitinfocharts.com/litecoin/ there were 568 blocks mined in the past 24hours.

So, in theory if ALL pool support segwit (which is impossible) it'd take 11 days.

But it depends on the no. of pools applying segwit through.

i don't know anymore but are you sure? this conversation that i had with this guy say without doubt that it should be already activated

-snip-
that site say that only 258 block are left until period end, litecoin have 576 block per day, this make us need only for half a day for this activation to happen, the two weesk have almost passed already, or that is a bad indicator?

that is not how it works. that site should really make this clear with a little footnote or something so that people can easily understand it.

the activation period is the period between two difficulty adjustment times and that happens every 8064 block (i believe it takes 2 weeks). and hash rate supporting the proposal has to reach above 75% before the adjustment (which already have ) and then it has to stay there for the whole next period.

in short this period is finished in 10 hours, 32 minutes and in 14 days SegWit will be activated if nothing changes!
3604  Economy / Economics / Re: where should i invest my 0.5 btc ? on: April 16, 2017, 04:51:27 PM
bitcoin is its own investment so you don't really need to invest it.

and investing it is risky.

there are some gambling websites where you can invest in their bankroll which is reasonably profitable and relatively low-risk, but even that is more risky than just keeping your bitcoin safe in your own wallet.

0.5 bitcoin should be worth quite a lot in the next decade or so, so just holding on to it might be your best bet.

i've read this many times, but it's wrong what you say, if people want to invest their bitcoin it's because they want more bitcoin, if they just hold their bitcoin they can't have more, isn't this clear? investing done right is a good thing, there are decent amount of altcoin that can givr you a very high return, my last investment was atomcoin, at 600 satoshi now this coin is at 2200 satoshi, i made almost 4x my investment, plus this coin have 100% pos per year which can make your income double each year, people really need to search more in the ann there are nice coin to invest
3605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of Forks of succelfull coins? on: April 16, 2017, 04:48:38 PM
is there a list of forks of succelfull coins?

yes there are many, vertcoin is the first that come in my head, this coin had many successful hard fork to combat asic, and every time they change the algo, feathercoin the same htye changed the algo, every coin that changed the algo has a good hard fork
Do you think if ethereum will be included on the successful coin to drive his fork? Looks like they're successful in driving his hardfork until this time.

ah yeah but they were kinda forced to do the hard fork right? because they screwed the code, and the hackers stole all those coins, and eth classic was the result from all this mess they created, the hard fork from ethereum is different from me than the one from vertcoin
3606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash Instamine is a non-issue. on: April 16, 2017, 04:46:09 PM
And why would pivx be better ? What makes their dev team better ? The fact that it is a clone proves the team is average tops and the project is vaporware.

because pivx was not instamined like dash, but dash was not actually instamined, darkcoin was instamined up to 5 million from the dev, and then they did the swap with the so called dash, but one is a pos and the other cna still be mined, even if dash is bad because instamined, i still like it more because you can mine
3607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: April 16, 2017, 04:45:00 PM
what sense there is behind saving bitcoin for fun? this must be stupid, bitcoin is money, do you save gold for fun lol? no of course, i save it to have a much better value later, and to save my future, and holding bitcoin now is the best thing you can do to retire later when you can't work anymore

3609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: looking for altcoins to invest on: April 16, 2017, 01:03:47 PM
hello,

so basically all altcoins are going up and it`s really hard to get in at these prices.
the only thing i can do is to go short for these coins but any minute they can drop so the profit i will make is really low and doesnt worth the risk.

i usually go for POS coins because even if price drop i can still get some interest from these coins.

anyway which cheap altcoin you suggest to buy?

thanks!

if you like pos coin, the bets one is decred, which has a different pos than the normal one you find in other coin, you buy ticket and get reward, or if you want a very cheap coin with good pos, 100% per years, i can suggest Atom, i bought some and it's staking nicely now, i hope i can get 100% return in one year
3610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash Instamine is a non-issue. on: April 16, 2017, 10:59:01 AM
Partial Instamine is a non-issue.

1. Bill Gates pre-mined Microsoft stocks.
2. Mark Zuckerberg pre-mined Facebook stocks.
3. Vitalik pre-mined Ethereum.
4. Crypto-coins are both digital gold and a stock.

I believe that creators need to have financial incentives to make their projects a success.

developers need to be incentivated to work right, but not to scam people, they could add a fee to the miners reward that they take, like some coins did in the past, this is a good solution for them to have the funds to keep develop their oins, meanwhile investors are not scammed by huge premine, and where is your source that bill gates premine microsoft? what the hell premined stocks means here lol?

3612  Economy / Economics / Re: "European Central Bank: Still Too early for Blockchain Technology" on: April 15, 2017, 04:10:12 PM
The European Union's central bank today once again shot down the idea that it might use distributed ledger tech as part of its market infrastructure in the near future.

Published alongside the latest annual report from the European Central Bank, released on  tuesday, was a feature on the tech. While largely written in broad strokes, the paper reiterates a position expressed in the past by ECB officials – namely, that the central bank isn't likely to tap distributed ledgers in the near future.

Do you think eurozone central banking should embrace distributed ledger technology?

it's no use for them now, they have their system which work good and don't have scaling issue, like bitcoin, if they are going to implent their own coin this coin would have the scaling issue, because could not handle what visa can today, and segwit isn't helping, segwit with LN could help bu still it's too new for them to grasp how it really work
3613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥 All-in-1 Rig Tool 🔥🔥 [REMOTE][WATTTOOL][PROFIT SWITCH][WIN][IOS/ANDROID] on: April 15, 2017, 04:07:17 PM
hey this is a useful tool, but can i remote control also the bios of my rig with this? for now only radmin can do this, or amt kvm which i found here https://www.howtogeek.com/56538/how-to-remotely-control-your-pc-even-when-it-crashes/
3614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What out of the box tools do you use to help you mine? on: April 15, 2017, 04:06:07 PM
i use teamviewer that help me contorl remotely my mining rig, there are other good alternative that can remote control even the bios of your mining rig, like radmin, if you talk about controlling multiple rig like it is one, check this, it's very useful https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1772780.0
3615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you stop someone forcing you to hand over your private key and taking all on: April 15, 2017, 04:02:51 PM
One thing I have thought about is that with bitcoin, someone could force you to hand over your private key. What sort of safeguards are there to prevent this happening, or to prevent them taking everything in that wallet?
One thing one can do is leave Bitcoins on an exchange that will only allow you to withdraw $1000 worth per day, but then you run the risk of the exchange being hacked....what are the other options?

this is no different than someone forcing you to take out the money from your pocket in real life right? it's better if you secure your bitcoin like you do with cash, put them in a safe box underground in a place where only you know about, this solve your problem man
3616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit Activation Dance with Litecoin and Vertcoin on: April 15, 2017, 03:58:45 PM
thanks to segwit they are adding litecoin to coinbase very soon, vertcoin is looking for the same fate and they are activating segwit for this reason, really excited to see more coin on an exchange like coinbase, maybe in the future we can have more coin to use like bitcoin and not only pump and dump
3617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need help understanding PIVX address on: April 15, 2017, 10:14:06 AM
I'm coming back just for another final question: To transfer from bitcoin to pivx I need an exchange? Or can I just send coins from one bitcoin address to a pivx address? Thank you!

yes, or you can do private trading and get the pivx, this si like buying pivx, and no you can never send coins from one blockchain to another one, they use different address, don't fall for the first letter, even if they start with the same letter the hash is different, so be aware, always use an exchange
3618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who do coin owners not revieal who they are? on: April 15, 2017, 10:10:43 AM
They do as Satoshi did. Full stop.

they are worse, because they have also their main here, it's like satoshi create an account to scam by creating other bitcoin clone lol, i never trust a newbie dev, unless he use a known escrow and some dev are spamming their own thread with multiple aka to make you think there is interest in his coin, stay away when you see multiple newbie in the same ann
3619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My company has tasked me with creating an altcoin on: April 15, 2017, 10:00:36 AM
I'm a developer working for a mid-sized firm and the powers that be want my team to spend some time diving into developing an altcoin. I'm pretty sure there are decent tutorials out there for where to start (ie Bitcoin Github) but I'm wondering if you guys have any tips that are not that commonly known.

Also if someone has experience with this we have a consultation/freelance budget.

Thanks.

please don't create any alt that is only aiming at pump and dump like any ico, i'm sure your company want an ico like many other company, because it's easy to have the money from investors, and to scam later, but making it look like the market killed the coin, which is never true, there is always a big sell off from someone that kill the coin, and this is either the exchange or the dev
