Who among you here bet on the Celtics vs Heat series?

The line currently is 1.71 for Celtics and 2.10 for the Heat.. This is going to be an exciting series, so it's sure worth a bet.
3602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting: how much knowledge is too much on: September 15, 2020, 06:46:39 AM
I've been experimenting with betting on sports, and for now I don't see a difference between when I'm making an educated bet and just betting blindly looking only at the odds. It hasn't been long, however, so I'll keep experimenting.

I can only speak of myself. I know a lot about football/soccer because it is a sport that fascinates me, so I bet 99% of my money on football games and no other sports. I have been consistently profitable for a long time (winning 55-60% of my bets). If I happen to bet on other interesting sports (e.g. recent NFL games), I always have a win rate of less than 50%. So I cannot confirm that knowledge does not make a difference. But to be profitable you also need good money and balance management. So knowledge compared with good money management is the key to success.

Gambling is really different than just watching the game and enjoying it because this should be treated as a job, you do your research so your chances of winning will increase. With a lot of sports you can be interested with, you can bet them all but you can't focus in all of them and that will affect your chances of winning, so as for me, I just focus on the league that I know the best and that is basketball especially the NBA.

I am winning of course but not all the time, my goal is just to win most of the time and I'll be profitable as long as I will stay discipline with my bankroll management. So everyone, hopefully you also learn how to manage your bankroll as that is one of the most important factors to succeed in sports betting.
3603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: September 15, 2020, 06:23:17 AM

Yeah you can say that but I'm just saying facts here that even if Miami Heat is just 5th in the East they still manage to beat the #1 seeded game in the East which is really a a surprising thing to see.

Most of us if not all are really surprise after Miami almost Swept the number 1 seed Bucks. The team developed good chemistry
kudos to the coaching staff as they really build this team from the scratch and now they are back to ECF.

yeah, maybe most of us but some have seen how the Heat as the better team against the Bucks in their games in the regular season.
And actually Bucks are hyping the regular season but in the playoffs they are.... "sorry" but a lot of fans are disappointed with them, it's okay to lose but at least they gave a good fight.

3604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: September 13, 2020, 10:09:16 AM
we need to discipline gambling games to avoid the losses.
I just wish that this kind of thing is is the thing that most of the gamblers must have whenever they are gambling.
I just wish that having discipline while gambling is that easy to do.

If only more gamblers are disciplined enough whenever they are gambling, their chances of losing money will be reduced by a bit but that doesn't the case. Most of the gamblers are ending up losing their self control whenever they are either winning or gambling and having self control is automatic when a gambler is disciplined enough to control himself. I just wish that more gamblers will have this trait to lessen their losses.

Loses do happen to us gamblers even if we are too discipline, what discipline could only teach us is to gamble and not allowed ourselves to lose more than what we can't afford to lose. That's very simple but actually hard to implement if you don't have that discipline.
3605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: September 13, 2020, 09:55:17 AM
Will the celtics or the Heat would take that opportunity from the team who will advance in the NBA FINALS?

Of course, there's a big possibility as Both the Celtics and Heat are playing very well in the playoffs, whichever team will advance in the NBA Finals, I'm sure they will give a hard time to their opponent. I think I will go with the Clippers winning over the Lakers, and Clippers will win in the championship, but before that, they need to take care of the business tomorrow by defeating the Nuggets.
3606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful when you play games with your coins! on: September 11, 2020, 02:48:03 PM
Most players just play for fun but if you have experience a huge profit in gambling, you may change your mind even though, you have set your daily limit.
Playing for fun doesn't mean you play to lose, of course we still have the same purpose which is to win, so it's just normal to aim for winning and we get more ambitious sometimes if we win, especially if we believe it's not luck alone but our skills is making us win.

Those rules tend to be broken with the same reason that rekt most gamblers, that's greed. To me, in order to enter gambling platform, you need to have self discipline and strong mental toughness to resist temptation into betting more than the average amount you've wager.

It should not be broken, one has to discipline himself to get some peace of mind when gambling.

There are two kinds of gamblers.

1- those who gamble for a living
2- those who gamble for fun,

Both gambling purpose is to win but if you are gambling to make a living, then it should be treated like a job.

3608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: September 11, 2020, 01:58:33 PM
If no fans will be allowed to watch the bout then a minimum of $15 million in ticket sales will be lost so it is vital fans will be allowed in to the arena otherwise Pay Per View fans watching at home will have to pay increased amounts to make up for the shortfall.

If the price is affordable I think they can get it sold to the fans, they might not have the gate entrance but there's a lot of fans now that would still watch online so PPV will increase compared to the regular situation where gate entrance are allowed.

Promoter should carefully evaluate this fight, it's a big fight hence it deserves a big pay.

If they love the fans then they will make it happen at per scheduled date but if they love their pockets, they can postponed it again, for the 2nd time.  Sad
3609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: September 11, 2020, 01:33:39 PM
If you are jobless person, you only have your own savings and you have a family to raise, it is much better to use your money to provide their needs instead of risking your money on playing gambling without any assurance of winning your game. When you lose your game you will regret it because you will earn nothing but you also lose your money with nonsense thing. What you have to do is to look for a job or put up a business instead.

That is just true but people that are actually addicted to gambling won't realize this. What matters to them is that as long as they can bet or gamble, they will be facing the problem of their family or their needs after gambling because their priority is gambling. Actually some people can't stop gambling that is the reason why some actually make some solutions like adding more shifts to earn more money they could use to gamble.

Some can't even identify themselves as an addict, how can they really know what to do with their money anyway? I've read that some addicts have their own reason why they are addicted to gambling, and it will never be a reason for them to stop gambling just because they are losing money. Or it will not make them realize to invest in a business or etc. A pandemic wouldn't even stop them from gambling. If the addiction is already hard to control, they needed a professional help, but they themselves first must accept that they are an addict.

That's the thing, the problem is how they can accept they are addicted if they themselves doesn't recognize they are already addicted. It's sad that they are justifying what they are doing even though it's already obvious that they are already addicted in gambling, they may not see it but it's visible to other people especially for people close to them.
3610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Inoue vs. Moloney - October 31 on: September 11, 2020, 12:53:16 PM

Can they sell at that price? I doubt.. Tyson and Rjr are popular in the entire world while " Inoue vs. Moloney " is not that popular especially in the USA as Inoue hasn't fought in the US land yet.
Inoue is still a big attraction because the media portrays him as one of the most promising boxer in the industry, many Americans have seen how Inoue fought Donaire and they consider Inoue as a great prospect just like when they first saw Pacquiao, it will be great if Inoue fight in the American soil one day, and get the same treatment like Ryan Garcia is getting.
It's different though, Ryan Garcia is state side, while Inoue is Asian, so different treatment. And Inoue has not yet been exposed to American, it's just one fight that they have witnessed and that's why Bob Arum is really working hard for Inoue to be accepted in the US soil just like what he did to Pacquiao and he is trying to repeat it, however, it might take some time because of the pandemic.

The timing was really bad though, it was Inoue's debut in the US and yet the fight was postponed because of the pandemic. He is good but I think Bob Arum can't anymore find a boxer like Manny as he is already a legend and one boxer said that 8th division champion as an achievement is hard to surpass.
3611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Atlant - An overly undervalued token on: September 11, 2020, 12:14:50 PM
with an ROI of -94% you say that the token is good?
That's the reality, we can't deny how it fell according to the figure, so it's not really good to say that the project is good, that's a bias statement from whoever said that.

Come on, how much do you lose there until you forget or can't compare which one will grow which will disappear? I don't mean to offend you but the token is hopeless in my opinion, and I think I've heard of this token and I think they held a bounty before raising ico.
Just forget about the bounty, it was already released completely, the price is what matters now.
3612  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best Prediction Site on: September 11, 2020, 11:20:11 AM
Be careful when you are using any bet prediction websites as they are often times affiliated with some sponsors, especially if they are free.
Searching on internet you can find some of them that are legit, but I would not trust them 100%
I like to read team news before entering any bet, and sometimes I check betshoot.com

True, prediction could be wrong also, just use a simple common sense, people won't share their analysis if its working as they can use it to make more money. Just do your own analysis and don't completely rely on prediction site, I guess prediction thread in this forum is way more accurate than in a certain site which gives a prediction.
3613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Inoue vs. Moloney - October 31 on: September 11, 2020, 10:13:32 AM
If these numbers priced into those normal days then for sure it would possibly be doubled or increased that much on this pandemic situation.

Also the ppv cost on Mike Tyson and RJj fight will cost $50

Right so the fight is not comparable to what Mike Tysons amount,Maybe if Holifield will Fight there might be a chance of having same rate or even much higher.

But this fight  for me considered to be under card if they go along in mike tysons event .

Maloney isa  good fighter but i doubt that He can Beat Inoue in this,So i am aiming to Bet in Inoue's side.

No, don't mixed an exhibition fight to a professional fight, this is a title fight FYI, so it's a serious fight and not an scripted fight.

Inoue-Moloney Bantamweight Title Fight Set, October 31 In Las Vegas

They are the main and only fight AFAIK.

That's right, it's a different fight, one is a real fight (this one), and the other is an exhibition fight. Inoue is good but not in the level of the great and popular fighter in the world as most of his fights are only in his homeland, and good thing he get a promoter that could bring his talent in the US, he could have fought a great fighter as well if not cancelled, but hopefully this one is good too.

Could be undervalued to you but you can't convince everyone about that.
The project seems to be not competing well starting 2018, though they still have some good update but unfortunately that positive update doesn't affect the price.

How can this project grow if the team alone are not choosing very well on listing it in an exchange that could provide them liquidity.

I'm not saying the project will eventually fall but without liquidity it will not improve its current status.

]I didn't pay attention with your Harris thing as I know you for sharing big bang underdog winners and the over and under experts. Whenever I do have spare coin I usually follow those shared picks of yours 😉
Yeah, I am kind of new to that kind of betting. Might try it again.
It gives more excitement when you watch.  Grin
Let's see what would be your best picked for tomorrow, Lakers is still the favorite having an odd of 1.47 not bad.

Congrats  and good luck 👍

So 1 game later.
I am with Lakers here. Once they got their rhythm, there is no stopping it.
Lakers -5.5

Lebron James blocks had been good.
Game 1 and 2 - 2blks
Game 3 - 4 blks
It might be because of the Houston small line up. Thinking about putting a bet here.  Grin

Lebron has never get old, he is blocking shots like a center but he is not, lol.. he is playing the point for the Lakers. Still -5.5, I think Lakers here can get this win again, Rockets has no answer in game 3 while Davis has already performing his usual and might continue doing the same.  How about rondo? you don't play a player props for him?
3617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: September 10, 2020, 09:58:47 PM
Probably because they get blinded by the idea that they might win and earn money by gambling.

That might be the main reason why they are risking their money in gambling. They are hoping that they can win good amount of money in gambling, and maybe this could be a coping mechanism of them to deal with their problems specifically when they lost their job because of this pandemic.

Hence, I agree that they have their own thinking, probably they see theirselves successful on gambling that's why their hopes are high.

Probably only few of the people are gambling because they lost their job, while most of the gamblers are enjoying because they are staying at home and they are finding ways to entertain themselves. Hence, it should not make gambling bad as though there's a risk and there are people who get addicted or lose a lot of money in gambling, but majority of the gamblers are doing it responsibly.

People should not blame gambling because they lose, or blame the pandemic for that to happen, they should be responsible enough to accept their mistakes and blame themselves.

Also, Hayward will be coming back soon.

Is he? Whoa! That's great news.
But I may bet for the underdog here.
Raptors loves being hammered hard and I think they will still fight back later.
Then the addition of pleasure to watch a Game 7 series once again.  Grin

They are a good match and whoever wins this will have a difficult time facing Miami.
Does Iguodala have a lucky charm?  Wink

Latest news or update on Hayward.

Gordon Hayward is back in the bubble, but Boston Celtics aren’t sure when he will be out of quarantine

Quote
Injured Boston Celtics wing Gordon Hayward is back in the bubble after returning home briefly, and he should rejoin the team’s doctors and trainers for rehab soon.

Hayward is still in quarantine, however, as the NBA ensures he is free of COVID-19 and that he won’t compromise the Disney World bubble, so he won’t be on the sideline just yet.

“I don’t know when the quarantine period will end,” Brad Stevens said after Monday’s Game 5 victory. “I think they will determine it through a set of doctors and all that stuff, how long that is. But my understanding is that I know he’s back, and I haven’t seen him because he’s been in a room.”

Hayward sprained his right ankle in the first round against the Philadelphia 76ers. Imaging later showed that he suffered a Grade 3 sprain, which was projected to keep him out for 4-6 weeks.

There was no serious injury, so the moment his quarantine is over, he can start training again, if he will missed the ECF which is unlikely IMO, for sure he will get to the NBA finals if they beat the Heat.

Heat -3, this series will be over tonight, with or without Giannis.

I will follow this pick, Heat can't give bucks a chance to win here, otherwise they will be put in a situation where might lose some confidence as the series is going forward. I believe Miami Heat has some better plans to execute the play very well this time and will dominate this game as much as possible, I would expect that Giannis won't play as he hasn't come back in the last game.

Thanks for the win, I was not wrong when I followed your pick, Heat really did their best to end the series and spread covered.

I got boston Celtics for tomorrow's game, hopefully this is the last game of the series.

I have them at -3 now. Good luck guys, if I win this, I'll be 3 in a row, so I'm kinda hot right now, don't fade, kidding.  Grin

I think i have to stay away from this game to avoid spoiling your winning streak  Grin.

Got a little streak on my own, so for tomorrow i'm betting for the Nuggets +8.5. I got a feeling that Denver would lose but not above 10 points.

If that's the case then we all will be winners here, I could follow you both and I will win more bets as I got two. hehe

Nuggets +8.5, seems very high of a spread knowing that Nuggets beat the Clippers in game 2, I think I might taste the ML as well.
3620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: All your entertainment things must have an external limiting feature, agree? on: September 09, 2020, 11:40:49 AM
Nothing is going to stop unless the user itself want to stop because gambling sites can make profits if gamblers play more and more so we can't expect them to stop us from over betting and other way could be locking our funds for a time frame in a website or in a wallet which also not feasible because no one really want to lock their funds.

Well, we can't really believe or even expect these online casinos or gambling sites to make a way to stop us gamblers from betting. It is either the government need to interfere with their policies and regulation or if we realize ourselves that we need to limit or we need to stop gambling. Another thing is that if ever that a casino site would be adding a limiting feature for their accounts, would gamblers really use it?

No, they will definitely stop gambling at that casinos.

That is the thing about gamblers, if they feel that they are being limited and being restricted to do things they wanted, they will go to other place where they could continue what they are doing in the past. I think casino owners are also aware of this that is why for a long time, they would not be accepting this idea. Gamblers themselves should step up, not the casinos not the government.

That's right, limitation is a bad thing in gambling, casinos would not want that either as that will also limit their profit.

If our country, there's a saying when gambling that goes "sky is the limit", so we can gamble whole night until the morning because gambling is fun.
Gamblers already have that kind of attitude, it's already in their system, they don't feel tired or bored even gambling for long hours.
