3601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: P2P Bitcoin Volume Hitting All-Time Highs on: October 04, 2020, 10:35:05 PM
It's hitting all-time high in certain countries, while in other countries the all time high was in the end of 2017 or beginning of 2018. And Bitcoin is still a new thing that gets adopted, so having an all time high isn't very impressive - it's actually bad when the volume isn't an all time high right now, because it means that it was popular in the past than it is now.
3602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a new investment on: October 04, 2020, 01:03:26 PM
Bitcoin is one of the strong cryptocurrency and it is the most stable digital coin nowadays. Also, bitcoin is one of the promising investment in digital world. Since, peoples economy nowadays are unstable due to the pandimic situation in the world. Peoples are looking for new source of income to improve their economy. Do you think bitcoin is the best investment choice nowadays to earn money?

Do you seriously believe that Bitcoin is stable? Have you seen the charts? You're even contradicting yourself, because if something is stable, it's not a good investment because it doesn't grow.

And to answer your question whether Bitcoin is a good investment or not, Bitcoin is risky, it has always been and will be for a long time. Many investors don't like taking risks, they prefer calculating the most likely outcome and just make profit by being consistent over long periods of time. So, Bitcoin is not a universally good investment, it's a good investment if you can afford the risks and know how to trade on volatile markets.
3603  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcointalk Forum posts ? on: October 04, 2020, 11:07:54 AM
This forum is for the educational purpose of blockchain technology and studies bitcoin or altcoins functionality, most especially, how this technology work that can help the ecosystem.

This isn't true, this forum isn't some academy, especially not for the blockchain technology. It's a place to discuss everything related to Bitcoin, and economic activity, which marketing is a part of, has always been a big part of this forum. I don't think we should shame people for wanting to make money, especially since majority of forum's members are enrolled in signature campaigns, so it's pretty much the norm here. Kinda hypocritical to criticize newbies for wanting to join too.

What is true is that sig campaigns aren't easy money, there's many barriers for entering, and it's not very profitable for most people.
3604  Economy / Economics / Re: Does China plan to go communist? on: October 04, 2020, 10:43:11 AM
I believe the Chinese government understands that communism is a failed economic theory, they have their own experience and experience of the neighboring Soviet union. China is really scared of failure, they don't want the repeat of the century of humiliation, so they won't be taking any huge risks with their economy.

Also would you expect their military to still be able to compete well with other countries?

In the age of nuclear weapons the military conflicts happen between smaller countries, or between big countries and small countries. So, of course China will always be a military threat to all its neighbors, but I doubt they'll be able to have global presence like the US does.
3605  Economy / Speculation / Re: On Trump COVID Announcement: Bitcoin vs Gold vs The US Stock Market(US500) on: October 04, 2020, 10:12:50 AM
Just having a fixed supply doesn't guarantee being a hedge. Bitcoin is still an extremely risky and speculative investment, it doesn't even have some predictable fundamentals that you can use to calculate its value, and it's not enough that a small group of people believes that it's digital gold, because the rest of the population doesn't, and they won't be using it as a hedge, so it's natural for the speculators to dump it when there's uncertainty.
3606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin countries: top hotspots that use BTC on: October 03, 2020, 10:30:38 PM
I'm not sure that Bitcoin volume on p2p exchanges directly correlates with overall Bitcoin use and adoption. Some countries might have good p2p exchanges while others have bad, there can be differences in their use due to some reasons like local banking rules, competition with local centralized exchanges, legal status, maybe even differences in mentality.
3607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is monero a good buy because of the application? on: October 03, 2020, 12:21:26 PM
Privacycoins, at least those without backdoors, are quite likely to be outlawed at some point in the future, because governments really don't like the idea of criminals or even regular citizens hiding their transactions. Bitcoin is tolerated because it's transparent, but if it will get some huge privacy improvements, there will be a risk of it getting banned too. You can already see how a lot of regulated exchanges were forced to drop Monero and other privacycoins - this can't be good for trading and the price.
3608  Economy / Economics / Re: "Humans will not be replaced by robots very soon" --- yeah right !!! on: October 03, 2020, 11:23:44 AM
Yeah, AI in the recent years conquered a lot of fields, but it still is nowhere near competing with humans in the most important one - creativity. If AI can't create something new, it's just a parrot, a monkey that does tricks. Yes, it will replace a lot of jobs, especially the low skilled ones, but without creativity a huge amount of jobs will be off-limits for AI, and it's very likely that the new future jobs will require creativity in some form. So, I'm really not worried that AI and robots will make us all unemployed.
3609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mediocre/People. on: October 03, 2020, 10:53:55 AM
Bitcoin is generally a coin that is good for our daily and future transactions, but I do notice that some class of people fine it difficult to go into trading and buying of bitcoin, I really don’t understand the problems.

Buying and trading Bitcoin isn't really a problem to anyone who is at least a little bit computer literate and uses other services like online banking. If someone faces problems with those things, they probably best to stay away from Bitcoin, because it only gets harder after making your first steps. Not everyone has to be their own bank, a lot of people have very poor security practices or easily make mistakes with technology, so they are bound to lose money with Bitcoin in long term.
3610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum resistance on: October 03, 2020, 08:54:38 AM
If Quantum mechanics are being used then for sure it can be integrated in the machinery of the bitcoins itself , an attack from the quantum computer can only be stopped by quantum mechanics itself.

Wrong, quantum-resistant cryptography has been known for decades, and it doesn't require quantum computers to work. Quantum computers aren't just more powerful classic computers, they are good for certain things, and worse at doing everything else. They aren't going to change everything, they'll just improve some fields.
3611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you leverage the power of your Bitcoins? on: October 02, 2020, 10:43:28 PM
- Taking a collateralized loan - Where would you invest this loan? A business, real estate, etc.
- Putting it into a interest account.
- Lending it.

All those things are done in a centralized way, and unlike with traditional finance, it's way more riskier with Bitcoin, because those services aren't fully regulated and due to the nature of Bitcoin it's easier for them to pull exit scams. Since the risk is higher, it's not that lucrative to invest your Bitcoin.
3612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone accidentally sent or received BTC to and from another address? on: October 02, 2020, 10:06:47 PM
It never happened to me, and it's generally pretty rare, but if you're talking about really small amounts, it could be a dust attack. Maybe someone is trying to track you, or maybe this was just an advertisement spam, which is more likely - its purpose is to make you research the originating address, which probably belongs to some service. Or maybe it's just bcash people being desperate, and they try to promote their coin by giving away some tiny amounts.
3613  Economy / Economics / Re: Are the Central Banks starting to worry about the public's perception? on: October 02, 2020, 09:50:44 PM
But ask random people if they trust the government, and the monetary system, and I believe the smarter portion of those asked would answer "NO".

And this distrust never translates into real action, so governments can easily ignore it. Even if a lot of people protest, it doesn't guarantee change, take France as an example - the yellow vests movement didn't achieve much, despite months of regular protesting.

Plus there are more and more people learning more about "the banksters" because of the internet. Like us for instance. Cool

Still very far from achieving a critical mass that can start something.
3614  Economy / Economics / Re: Are the Central Banks starting to worry about the public's perception? on: October 02, 2020, 07:51:54 AM
If you ask average people on the street, what do they know about central banks, they'll only have very vague understanding of what they are doing. If the crisis will worsen, people won't be blaming central banks, they'll blame the ruling people, especially the leader, because it's the person responsible for everything. So, I don't think that central banks are panicking right now, they probably just want to explain what they are doing, because there will be more intervention now, and more people might be curious what's going on.
3615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: French police arrest terror financing ring that used Bitcoin coupons on: October 02, 2020, 07:32:06 AM
I have only said that banking channel is highly monitored so a criminal will have to make good connections with the banking people and bribe money to continue their shady dealings through banking channel. That's where crypto came in and took away the risk!

That's exactly what's happening, and big banks get exposed for that, but with very little actual consequence. And Bitcoin might be useful for small criminals, but it's actually hard to move large amounts of money undetected, because Bitcoin itself is not that big, so some sudden spikes in transaction amounts would attract interest of chain analysis. So, banks are still the choice of big criminals like drug cartels, mafia, corrupt politicians, dictators, etc.
3616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First time in Ethereum's history, miners made more from fees than from block on: October 02, 2020, 07:14:09 AM
I hope this won't become a trend, because new generation of Nvidia GPUs was released, and AMD will roll out their products too, and I don't want miners grabbing all the cards, this will again create negative view towards crypto by the PC community, and it's just unfair that the product gets intercepted and isn't reaching its target users, gamers in this case.
3617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump gets Covid and we Crash? on: October 02, 2020, 06:23:46 AM
Buy the dips though.

1% drop is not the dip for Bitcoin, it randomly goes up or down by a few percents very frequently. So, it's actually not a good idea to FOMO right now, better sit and wait for an actual dip, if buying the dip is your chosen strategy.

Trump is apparently good for the stock market, and now there is a small increase for the outcome where he is no longer a POTUS after these elections, so no wonder that the market reacted negatively, and Bitcoin is following stocks for now.
3618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millennials Increasingly Prefer Bitcoin to Gold or Real Estate on: October 02, 2020, 04:09:13 AM
I'm a millennial, and while I'm heavily invested in Bitcoin (why else I'd be on this forum?), I dream about getting into real estate, maybe become a landlord or invest in early stages of a project and sell later. But my greed is stopping me from doing this, I keep hodling Bitcoin, because I want to see at least the peak of the next bull run before I start getting exposure to other markets, and I totally understand that it's actually extremely risky, because there's no guarantee that there even will be a next big bull run. YOLO.
3619  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin over $10,000 for the past 66 days on: October 02, 2020, 02:58:58 AM
Will BTC ever drop under $10,000 ever again?

Very likely yes, we are in a bit bearish market now, and we're not that far from 4-digit territory, so we can go there in a matter of minutes, if a sudden crash will come. I don't think that the fact was above X level for Y days really means anything - people though that prices below $4,000 won't be seen ever again when the market was bullish in the beggining of this year, and then the coronavirus crash came.
3620  Economy / Economics / Re: FOLLOW THIS RULES TO BECOME RICH on: October 01, 2020, 09:03:16 AM
I'm pretty sure that all the actual rich people aren't thinking about any rules how to become rich, they just earn way more than they spend and that's it. How do they earn so much? They could be a successful businessmen, they could have inherited wealth, or married into wealth, and some people just have a good career, work hard, invest their money and become rich.
