3601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Tips- what kind of strategies do you use when playing? on: October 21, 2021, 01:20:00 AM
Poker is not really a game of chance.  This is a game in which the player with certain skills wins.  Poker masquerades as gambling, but the best poker players are calm and cold-blooded people.

To play poker successfully, you need to live a certain lifestyle.  You need to get enough sleep every night.  You need to lead a healthy lifestyle.  You can not use alcohol and drugs.  You should only eat healthy foods.  It is necessary to use medications such as lacto- and bifidobacteria.  You also need to play sports (run, swim).  Be in the fresh air periodically.

All this will allow you to withstand the enormous psychological stress that occurs when playing poker.

This will give you an edge over other players.

And this advantage can be decisive.

What you are saying is completely wrong! Sorry, but it is as it is!

I can explain to you, poker is a game of chance... the cards you hold give you lower or higher chances to win! BUT, if you pay to see the flop with your cards (week or low) depending on that flop chances for you are different! The beauty of poker is that if you wish to see that TURN maybe you will need to pay a big price (if someone rises before you)... and people who play the poker knows that RIVER can be full of surprises... but to get to that you will have to pay more maybe?!

The lifestyle you are talking about doesn't matter at all! You either like to play the game, and you know how to play it or not... what you use can harm you or give you a boost, but that is totally individually, whats good for someone is bad for others!

Some drugs could help you play poker if we are being honest. I mean look at those dude who play online poker, many games at a time for hour and hours on end, sometimes they are using more than just coffee to keep them going. However if you’ve got an in person tourney, one game that may require you to sit there for an entire game of one winner, then ya getting a girl night sleep and having decent health is probably an advantage. But it’s not like you have to be an Olympic athlete lol
3602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 21, 2021, 01:10:56 AM
Watching the Bulls game right now. Its great seeing them actually have a team that is competitive with a legitimate future. I know they aren’t winning any championships this year or anything but they are on their way to being able to have a team good enough to attract a mega star.
3603  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think narcos may actually be on the 10 richest? on: October 20, 2021, 05:50:21 PM
There is no chance that any Narco could make the top richest list anymore.  I am certainly very aware of Pablo Escobar and how rich he was.  He was the riches drug dealer of all time (Chapo was not even close) and will remain the richest drug dealer ever, no questions asked.  So no, it would be way too difficult for a narco to amass that sort of wealth that these mega rich tycoons have.
3604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe BTC can be attacked? on: October 20, 2021, 05:48:21 PM
I recently watched an Andreas Antonopoulos video where he was being asked if there was a way for hackers to be able to eventually hack the bitcoin blockchain, namely if there was a way that it could happen with the emergence of quantum computing.  His answer was basically that there is always going to be a possibility but that bitcoin is a programmable coin, where they can always prepare for these types of things and make adjustments as needed.
3605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you quit Bitcoin if a shitcoin like Ethereum surpassed it? on: October 20, 2021, 05:44:30 PM
I think that there is always a possibility that some sort of coin could take over bitcoins dominance.  Now that coin is not going to be ethereum because they are not competitors.  Ethereum is a smart contract coin where bitcoin is not, so there competitor would be something more like litecoin. I think everyone should prepare for that being a possibility one day, but as of right now, there is definitely no competitor in that manner.
3606  Economy / Economics / Re: Ways to avoid being scammed!!! on: October 20, 2021, 01:02:44 AM
lol I don’t know how praying to “god” is going to do you any good when it comes to not getting scammed. The most important things is be carful with what you download, keep your passwords safe, and do your research! A lot of people I’ve seen get scammed simply didn’t do their research which was mainly not asking a financial professional for advice. There have been so many crypto invests I’ve warned people of who didn’t want to listen to a financial advisor like myself who told them to stay away, like with bitconnect for example.
3607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin > Gold on: October 20, 2021, 12:57:46 AM

Government can literally take your private keys as easily as your hidden physical gold if they want, i mean good luck hidding that private key and if it's only in some physical device, it doesn't matter if officials can decrypt it or not if they confiscate it. Also btc wallet isn't an anonymous wallet, it's pseudonymous. You might feel that's nitpicking, but it makes all the difference since EVERYTHING can be tracked. That comes problematic when you try to cash out a bigger sum and your id will go to that mix.

Please, good luck with that. There is no chance in hell that my government is going to take anything from me. Amazes me that in the United States at one point in time our government had a gold recall. If they tried to do anything like that today they’d not stand a chance.
3608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Issue of fixed Matches on: October 20, 2021, 12:52:08 AM
For the most part no one has any idea when matches are actually being fixed, so really it’s mostly just a bunch of conjecture when people are trying to say they know a match is fixed. I mean unless they have a friend on the team who straight up told them, I’m not believing it.
3609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 20, 2021, 12:49:54 AM
It was a pretty good game, all in all.  I was surprised to see the Bills defense give up so many big runs.  I'm sure nutildah wasn't complaining though.

I'm sure he's very happy to win by 50+ points as opposed to merely 30 points Grin

Ok, ok, I know, tiebreakers, but it probably won't be that close after 14 games.

Come on, man.  Are you trying to tell me that pouring on the hurt doesn't make you happy?   Wink

Yeah not to mention all the people taking cmc first instead of Henry kicking themselves.  Henry is an absolute football and ff stud.  Have tannehill as my qb in another league and kills me everytime just ground and pound.

He was an absolute stud last night.  Tannehill's only job is to throw just often enough to sell the play action run.

Yeah Derek Henry is on a different planet right now. I mean I haven’t seen a dude dominate form a position of power like he is since Adrian Peterson in his prime. That guy just straight beasting people and sometimes it’s easy to forget that these dudes he’s destroying are the best in the world at what they do. Something else.

Lemon in beer, especially Mexican beer is common but not oranges in beer.

It appears that putting oranges and orange peel is common for Belgian beer. I might try this with friends next time hehehe.

https://beerandbrewing.com/orange-appeal/

In any case , who are your candidates for rookie of the year? Top 3 among football experts are Jamarr Chase, Micah Parsons and Najee Harris. Sometimes Mac Jones is mentioned.

Blue Moon always advertises their beer in conjunction with oranges. It’s like limes with Corona, they just go perfectly together.

Rookie of the year, hmmm.. Ja’Marr Chase is certainly up there. Najee Harris as well.

By any crazy ass chance is one of these still available?

I’d recommend posting a WTB thread. I’m sure someone here is willing to part with one.

My all time favorite beer. Where’s your orange 🍊 though?

I can't drink any beer with fruit in it.

Geno smith sucks big donkey dick, I think your bet is safe! Smiley

Massive huge donkey dick lol. I didn’t even realize he was still in the league until Wilson got hurt and he came in.

Man Blue Moon is so much better with an orange slice. Corona with a lime, etc. You could pour a little OJ in your blue moon. I’ve done that many times when the bar would be out of oranges. Not as good but decent.

Shit my stomach just rolled over reading that!

Lol I knew that was coming  Cheesy

I dunno suchmoon, being 3-0 in your division, you're technically the best team in the league.

That's very cool and will brag relentlessly for the next few years how I once was leading an FF league after week five but unless Lamar does a dozen cartwheels into the end zone and Patrick Price has a bad hair day, my opinion of our matchup stands.

You got your wish with Lamar. That was the biggest problem with my players this week, all of their teams got up huge early on and ended up just running the ball leaning my WRs little actions. Also didn’t help that Marquis Brown  once again dropped a TD. That’s 4 on the season now. Smh

What do you guys think about tonight's matchup? Is today finally the day to bet against Tom Brady?
It's never a good time to bet against Brady but in the scheme of things this might be the closest to the best time. Smiley

Have you two started weekend refreshments a day early? Betting against the goat? Roll Eyes

Not until he meets Josh Allen and Bills defense in the SB.

YUP!

My all time favorite beer. Where’s your orange 🍊 though?

Hope y’all had a better FF day than I did. was up nicely in all my leagues but then in the last hour of games if all fell apart. Thankfully I’ve hit on every bet so far (got the Steelers at -5.5).

Why are you refusing to tell us the mintage #. Also why aren’t you using your regular account? Shady shit. You’ve now lost all credibility, not that you care it’s an alt account anyhow, right. SMH
3617  Other / Meta / Re: Is it needed a History & Education board? on: October 17, 2021, 12:54:40 PM
There’s some epic threads without much merit that are very deserving. Like this one ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=737.0 ) which should have a ton of merit but it’s old and not “famous” enough but it’s far more important than say the Hodl thread.
Yeah, excellent thread from 2010 and it seems like that was decades ago rather than just over one decade.  Maybe my merit source philosophy is warped, but I wouldn't merit posts that old--especially not if they were made by Legendary members.  I try to help members rank up with the merits I give out, and in threads that old there are a lot of Legendaries and members who aren't active anymore.

Well as Welsh stated, he believes part of why Theymos implemented merit was to shine light on important threads and this thread deserves a few to show newbs that it is an important historical convo. As a physical crypto coin nerd this especially hits close to home, so had to do just 1, as I otherwise certainly agree with you. Same for Satoshis escrow thread. If it was more visible maybe someone would have brought his eventual breakthrough idea to life already (though I really wish Szabo would just do it and stop wasting time on twitter arguments)

3619  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are “first bits” still frowned upon ? on: October 17, 2021, 12:26:04 PM
Thanks guys! As you guys know (at least Dave and Quick) I’m a physical coin enthusiast so referring to those mainly, though I wanted to educate myself about them, pros/cons.

So this begs the question, is there an inevitable problem coming soon for all coins with holos using first bits, like Casascius coins?  I’ve never had an issue verifying funds on wallet explorer myself, nor has anyone ever mentioned having issues on the collectibles board that I know of. I guess perhaps this would be a good topic to post about.

(Quick haven’t seen you around in a bit, hope you’re well)
3620  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Are “first bits” still frowned upon ? on: October 17, 2021, 12:23:58 AM
I recently found out that if your address is not funded, and you only have the first bits and no longer have the full key, then you’re sol to ever fund it. Someone posted about a litecoin wallet with only access to first bits trying to find the full key so I asked Charlie Lee and he confirmed to me it’s not possible. So just curious, is there a way to change this, or is that not a good idea? I did some reading and also learned first bits are frowned upon as they cause some issues..is this still the case? (not sure of the articles date I read).  Just curious is all, wanting to learn a bit more about this.

Also, I once read somewhere that technically “first bits” is not the proper term, but can’t find where I read it ..anyone know if that’s true ?
