3621  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Why people don't like coinbase? on: November 30, 2016, 10:19:21 AM
Coinbase blacklists addresses and may ban people for sending or receiving money from gambling websites. This goes against bitcoin's basic standards and is very anti-freedom. No wonder people have been saying that Coinbase is not suitable as a bitcoin wallet service. I've heard similar things about Circle as well.
3622  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: November 30, 2016, 10:15:54 AM
Seeing that many people complain about the table's size, I think that a way to reduce it a little would be to shorten the contents of the term field. Since it's always pretty standard post/weekly could become post/w or even p/w, post/biweekly fixed/biweekly to fixed/biw or f/bw etc. And Legendary could be shortened to Legen.

But other than that, bitcointalk's tables aren't that flexible and there's not much that can be done. This is something I've been complaining about for a while.
3623  Economy / Speculation / Re: voting: $750 in 1/12/2016? on: November 30, 2016, 10:09:05 AM
Resistance at $735 seems to have been broken, which is kind of surprising. I wonder what's next, but I sure hope for a follow up from the market. Volatility usually ensures after resistance is broken so let's just hope that we won't see a significant price fall soon.  Grin

3626  Local / Ελληνικά (Greek) / Re: Χρεωστικές κάρτες με Bitcoin [INFO] on: November 29, 2016, 08:46:02 AM
3627  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: November 28, 2016, 12:00:28 PM
Hello, all.

Please advise, could the debit cards be considered as the bank account in foreign banks?
No, you don't get access to a full bank account in your name plus you only access the card's services through the interface of the service you chose. If you're talking about bank grade security though, I admitedly don't know. It surely has to be more insured than letting your bitcoins sit in the wallet of a service that you have no direct control on.

When getting a card from the OP list with an IBAN attached to it, can you withdraw PayPal to it?

Are you referring to a specific card?
Not at all, just any service that offers card with iban. I think viabuy does this. Do you think it is possible to withdraw paypal money to it?
I've only been monitoring bitcoin debit card services so I don't know.much about this. I've seen some people here offering bank accounts but those are essentially "proxied" bang services and hence largely trust based. I'm not aware of any bitcoin related service officialy offering what you ask for to be honest.
3628  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: November 28, 2016, 05:51:30 AM
While I know that E-coin is having some issues at the moment and some people are enjoying throwing accusations at the moment , you probably should read the latest posts from this (OP from E-coin threads) : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=409314;sa=showPosts He pretty much explains the issues.
I don't see an explanation but rather responses trying to reassure customers. I really do hope issues will get sorted out for users because it seems like there are several cases of people having problems with E-Coin's service as of lately, which is worrying.

I think that we're in agreement, I was just suggesting to hat users that accusations should better come with evidence.

After talking in PM with him, he somehow had the staff to answer my tickets...

But this should be a clear warning to everyone that this is no way to handle a online business to have to make bad talk on a forum to be able to get answer on a damn ticket...

By the way, my money still gone.. they are looking into it... they must wait answer from bank?? even tho the money deposited on the card clearly says ''failed transfer'' i dont understand what bank has to do with this... money failed to transfer to them... you are the one i deposited bitcoin to, not them, if you do not put money on my card then not touch my bitcoin... anyway!!

Will wait tomorow to see whatsup....

I sincerely hope they resolve.
Several users of E-Coin seem to continue having a very troublesome experience with their services...

3633  Local / Ελληνικά (Greek) / Re: Χρεωστικές κάρτες με Bitcoin [INFO] on: November 27, 2016, 11:34:06 AM

Almost 2 weeks now and not seeing anyone signed up via this sig or traffic increase.
Not sure if worth continuing much longer. This is the 4th or 5th sig campaign this has happened with so clearly shows it's a waste of money.

So, this means that you will stop it?
It's like an early announcement?

Is there something else that we can do, as participants in this campaign?

Hi.
I will keep it going until at least the end of week three.
I'm not really sure what else can be done to be honest. Never really had any luck advertising or giving things away on this forum.

What about to make participants most posts in gambling section? Won't it help you? Because betking is dice. We really want to help you because while I am promoting here, it's my duty.

I think this is a good idea and should be tried if the campaign were to continue for another term.

I've been monitoring the Wirex/E-coin thread for the past weeks and some really suspicious activity has been reported by users. Many users are being unable to see funds loaded in their account, and others are unable to withdraw. Most calls for support go unanswered until users go public with their complaints. Seeing as to how other bitcoin services have silently pulled a MtGox on users with big balances we have to be extra cautious.

I'm putting Wirex/E-coin in the quarantine list and would advise everyone to stay away from their services UPDATE: see here. Here's a list of quotes from Wirex/E-coin users reporting faults in their service recently:

They are having issues with their bank. Their bank said I had reached my lifetime limits too even tho I never spent more than a few hundred dollars with my real card. Nevertheless, I contacted their support, Alena took my case and after a few days of working with the bank she successfully could transfer my funds in BTC so I could move them. I think Wirex is stuck with issues with the bank and they are trying hard to fix them.

Alena keeps transferring my support requests to other people.
Other people keep telling me LIES about card limits.
I keep saying I had a BRAND NEW EURO card that wouldn't even load 410 EURO.
I am at the point that I am telling her to stop allowing her workers to LIE to me, give me my money back.
I am now accusing them of scam excuses and stealing.  I keep asking for my money back, and they keep lying about card limits.
I explain that I do not want to load any more cards.  I just want my money back.

They won't give it back.
HELP!

Hello

I am a customer of e-coin.
e-coin has taken my money.  410 Euros, and 252.40 USD

I have deposited bitcoin then attempted to transfer to virtual cards, not exceeding the monthly or daily limits.
The Euro card was new with no limits used for the day or month.  I tried to load the cards and received an "unknown error...."
The money was taken and not returned to my account or put on my virtual cards.

I contacted support, and was told I have reached a "lifetime limit".
I am guessing my account itself as an overall limit?  This is a NEW LIMIT e-coin created???
Because a brand new, unused EURO card was not letting me load.  I reached no daily or monthly limits.

The error message did not say I reached a limit.
It said unknown error.

I have an emergency, I must pay bills.
They said I reached a limit and did NOT return my bitcoins!   They are telling me I have to do all this verification now.  Stalling me.  I don't have time for this.  Virtual cards did not require verification in the past year.  I need to pay overdue bills NOW.  I need my money back so that I can have them back and find another service that works.

Can you please help?
Customer support is telling me I have a lifetime limit and NOT returning my money!
We are experiencing some difficulties with the USD card loading service. The service will be resumed on Monday 14 Nov 10am GMT at latest.

If that's the case, have you considered posting in the forum's scam accusation board with evidence? I'd encourage you to do so if getting your money back is something you want. E-Coin/Wirex doesn't really have a great reputation when it comes to customer support and relations but as a service provider they sure as hell care about their public image. If they're indeed holding your funds hostage and aren't responding to your inquiries then this is absurd. Handling user funds responsibly is their one job and if they aren't doing it right pressuring them by going public might get your issue fixed faster.
3638  Economy / Speculation / Re: voting: $750 in 1/12/2016? on: November 27, 2016, 02:03:09 AM
Ιt'll be hard for the price to recover but not too unlikely either. But then again, I'd rather see sideways trading other than the price falling even more. There were significant back to back sell orders that lead the price to where it is now... The market's mood over the past weeks doesn't really signal another rise, $750 isn't impossible but at the moment traders seem to be packing bags for more dips.

Can't speak about this specific bit of code but the general premine issue is known and was well known from the time Dash was called Darkcoin. it has been been a topic thoroughly discussed, especially by the bitcoin community.

Uphold seems to have started offering a virtual Mastercard service. This is very new and I just bumped onto it so I didn't have the time to look into the service, but feel free to look into it on your own.

https://uphold.com/en/blog/posts/uphold/spend-uphold-money-anywhere-mastercard-r-is-accepted

Edit: so the service is a virtual prepaid card. USD but available worldwide. The fee is a bit of a turnoff for me though, 3% upon creation. This would be good for a disposable card service but then again Uphold requires extensive account verification so I don't think that there's going to be much demand use for a service with so limited potential use cases when there are significantly more competitive alternatives.
