3621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think sport betting and gambling casinos are the first business to get up on: April 29, 2020, 08:53:59 AM
Guess you mean it "could" last for 6 to 8 months.
Well I don't really know about Gambling casino businesses, but good/safe betting businesses should flourish if they are needed by people and are safe for them. Betting on things are actually very important to society than people think.
3622  Economy / Economics / Re: Cantillon Effect and Bitcoin on: April 29, 2020, 08:36:32 AM
Bitcoin price really occasionally fluctuates a bit extremely.. . But it's deflationary in the long run (without manipulations Ofcourse),which is good for keeping your funds safe from long-term inflation in current government controlled world.
I think using bitcoin more within the community/ecosystem could help improve things abit.
And the community would also need to auto regulated the price (in decentralized manner) to keep it from those extreme movements. The movements should be moderate... example: it moves 2 points up, 1 down, maybe in  8 out of 12 months
3623  Economy / Economics / Re: The true value of money, is it always just a number? on: April 29, 2020, 08:03:36 AM
People probably don't see the need to note those things or they don't want to be bothered by it. I used to keep a budget in my mind. I try not to surpass the budget whether I have enough/excess money or not. And I also reserve abit of my fund for unforeseen circumstances (like my phone getting spoilt & needing repair). I usually end up spending below my budget then move the balance to another week.

3625  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining: Halving will destroy the half of us. on: April 28, 2020, 04:56:32 PM
One of the most important things in my opinion is to have a mining sector that is very decentralized/antifragile/safe and is able to thrive in unsafe and crisis ridden world. The current large but few miners takeover doesn't sound antifragile/decentralized to me. I believe satoshi wanted censorship resistant Bitcoin.  Large, few and stationary miners kind of weaken and contradict the censorship resistant ideal. There should be other ways(or additional ways) to incentives small miners (A regularly deflationary Bitcoin would have helped in this case) and even make mining energy efficient.
3626  Other / Off-topic / The problem is not really government on: April 28, 2020, 11:31:10 AM
The problem is how governments are structured and how they operate. Structure them properly so that evil people in governments (and even private sector) will be held accountable for their crimes and breaking of laws/rules

It seems many don't check and balance their governments. We could even use the right technology (like decentralized tech) to do this very effectively. Centralization of power contribute seriously to the evil in governments. We all need to properly monitor those who are up there to serve society (whether private or public) and use the laws against the breakers of good laws.
3627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your biggest bet, loss and win on: April 28, 2020, 10:39:29 AM
The gambler took a big risk, assuming he can't afford to lose that much.
Taking big risk in betting games is generally not advisable. *Bet, but don't gamble*. Only bet with small amounts or what you can afford to lose.

My biggest loss was probably less than $1 long time ago. I  bet once in a church compound during thanksgiving, and I bet on physical lotteries back then too. I think it's safe to say I didn't win any of them which meaning I lost those bet(I lost few dollars/cents). I have also bet on online dice once with coins from faucet... didn't win that one also , so that count as lost too.
3628  Economy / Gambling / Re: HUGE ACTION PokerBros room accepting new poker players ($100,000 GTD MTT) on: April 28, 2020, 09:52:55 AM
Did you miss posting the specific poker website here, (is it pokerbros .com, .org, etc ?) . Is it posted already somewhere but I missed it or something? Would be nice to get the link from here in order to see what the site looks like, instead of searching for it via a search engine.
3629  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Halving Promotion - May 2020 on: April 28, 2020, 09:01:56 AM
It's an interesting idea.
Where will the bot be? On one site or  anyone can have it on his/her site?
Well, I think this will make alot sense if price is guaranteed to move high up, else you will probably have only generous or happy people giving out bonuses, day free spins etc
By the way, we have no government like structure to make this somewhat important/necessary so that we can have a special day/days to mark the day, get certain businesses close shop and Bitcoin workers have some rest on the day.
3630  Other / Off-topic / Re: 5 Acronyms Your Mother Never Told You About on: April 28, 2020, 08:25:47 AM
You mean most children get high on Marijuana? Where exactly are children allowed to get high on Marijuana? Probably getting high illegally?

Well, children certainly need to have some sort of kids friendly internet to prevent adults from taking advantage of them via codes like those. The bad codes shouldn't be allowed for them in the first place. I think parent should be able to easily know the codes(and new ones) to prevent their kids from using them by monitoring them constantly
3631  Other / Off-topic / Re: Distributed vs decentralized (my opinion) on: April 28, 2020, 08:01:13 AM
Distributed could be a sneaky way for some to bring in centralized projects into crypto world & avoid accountability. By just calling their projects "distributed", many will think or assume that they are decentralized when they are not.
I still strongly believe that centralized crypto projects should be regulated by governments. It's dangerous to run centralized crypto projects or bank-like projects in Crypto world without adequate regulations.
Those who refuse community-based regulations or self-regulations should really be regulated by the typical governments.
3632  Other / Off-topic / Re: what if ? on: April 28, 2020, 07:46:37 AM
If such thing happens, it will certainly not affect certain people. This is why it's important to always flee places with lots of evil especially when the places have become completely evil. And when you form a community of survivors like yourself, make sure they always live morally and serve their true CREATOR.
By the way, lots of people are already "dead" and are zombies to sin or forces that control them without knowing it.
3633  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you remember your first mobile phone? on: April 26, 2020, 04:41:22 PM
Not sure if i personally owned a Nokia 3310. I think I used them for small call business around 2003/2004 though. My first functional mobile phone was probably red in color and has somewhat rubbery physical keypad...very old phone even back then  I was really grateful having it.
I also owned a Thuraya satellite phone I got from a relation, didn't really use it. It was actually my oldest phone. Took it to school always, even though it never worked Smiley
3634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The current level of security in PoS. on: April 26, 2020, 03:59:45 PM
I guess 51% attack is also possible on POS coins but it is easier on POW coins, PoS makes it simpler to penalize explicit actors in a 51% attack situation I think that is why no one does that on POS coins and they will be caught and punish specifically. This is on the grounds that PoS validators have moderately long-lived identities and PoW miners are changing their identities with each block and it is harder to trace them specifically.

I think PoS could be attacked if I can secretly print fiat currencies without limit, for buying up PoS coins and at the same time preventing the coins from moving up in price.
How about if most people mines on centralized platforms?
And I have to have certain amount of coin in order to stake and participate in the network consensus.
Almost everyone can afford a phone and laptop for minimal PoW or something, but not every can afford the expensive amount for participating in PoS.. This alone should disqualify it. A reasonable community should make it possible for everyone to participate and still keep things very safe. Besides, phones and laptops are multiple purpose aside mining or participating in network consensus... this is really good thing.
PoS is also very vulnerable in my opinion.
3635  Other / Off-topic / Distributed vs decentralized (my opinion) on: April 26, 2020, 01:54:55 PM
— Decentralized things = no centralization. Any form of centralization contradicts the name decentralization.

— Distributed things = can be either centralized or decentralized.  A central power could distribute things around but still retain the central control of that distributed things. This is not decentralization.

So, I totally prefer the name Decentralization for a decent Cryptosphere. A true decentralization is the safest and can easily be proven to be safest.

3636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Provably Fair Extension | Quickly Verify Provably Fair Bets from Your Browser on: April 26, 2020, 10:40:19 AM
I guess the owners of other betting sites or the crypto betting communities could hire or get you to include other sites... assuming the extention really works well.
Can you build similar thing for mobile betting? Maybe a special app for betting and verifying other sites?
3637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mixed Sports Betting on: April 26, 2020, 09:59:41 AM
[TT=Table Tennis?]
Is that a real volleyball game or the online/virtual volleyball game? If real, where exactly is it going on? Well, I wonder where such games are going on in this crisis time(table tennis is probably safer). Would be nice if  you provide the links to the games, (assuming it's online/virtual world.)
3638  Economy / Gambling / Re: TOTAL CAPITAL - Recursive Crypto Totalizator! on: April 26, 2020, 09:43:08 AM
You mean "*YOU* BET ON THE BET OF OTHER PLAYERS"?  "You" instead of "your"?  And does the third one (confirmed in the blockchain system) mean provable fair system? If that is provable fair then I don't think it qualifies as "first time ever" unless your own system is unique?
3639  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation, printing money and Bitcoin on: April 26, 2020, 09:17:30 AM
I think printing of more money than is required could easily cause inflation if goods and service are scare or production of good and services is slow or low. One of the biggest dangers of printing more this way is when scare/limited resources is regularly acquired by average people who get the printed money or  by those who get very wealthy from the printed money... (especially money printed for people who aren't really working hard or contributing enough.)

In regards to this affecting cryptocurrency price, I guess people don't have excess or alot of money to spend. The lockdown made earning lots of money from their jobs and businesses and having excess to spend on what they feel they don't really need difficult. I guess if they start having the excess/extra money from the money printing, they will likely start spending them on what they feel they don't really need.
If we had a really flourishing cryptosphere with lots of very decentralized marketplace , businesses, Insurance etc... basically filled with decentralized products/services, it will likely create the need for consumers to spend here, because of the availability of better and safe alternatives in time of crisis and uncertainty.
3640  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lockdown depression :( on: April 26, 2020, 08:25:31 AM
I used to be depressed too, even though I usually eat healthy and exercise often.
I think hopelessness, sin and what we feed our minds with usually create the depression.
I repented, refocused on one true GOD (eat more healthy too), guard my mind, and every form depression or anxiety ceased completely.
I honestly wish you all the best and good things of life.
