3641  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you know person that predicted this retracement ? on: May 17, 2021, 09:40:32 AM
This is extremely difficult.
Some of these people or groups are asking for payment, but you can find some are free and they cannot guarantee 100% sure (even paid groups can't 100%).

You can check in Twitter, use search box for particular cryptocurrency you want, like for Bitcoin => $BTC or #BTC, Ethereum = $ETH or #ETH.

There are lot of free tweets in Twitter with some charts and analysis for free, avoid joining to paid groups.
3642  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: General noob BTC/Altcoin buying question on: May 17, 2021, 08:09:50 AM
@mk4 is right, if you set a particular market price but the price of a particular coin didn't reach that market price, it will not trigger at all.
There are differences in a limit order and market order. Both also got different advantages and disadvantages.

I think this article will help you to understand more about different order types: Understanding the Different Order Types
3643  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Fake alert during p2p trade on: May 16, 2021, 02:03:48 PM
This is becoming a common problem these days on P2P trading, not even on a decentralized platform.
Even on Binance P2P trading, this kind of scams already happened especially using e-wallets as a mode of payment, since most e-wallets are sending you a message once you received payments to your account.
So scammers, may copy the format or style of the message and use some SMS provided when doing a P2P transaction.

That's why recently, Binance put some warning text on checking first the account balance itself before confirming the payment in P2P Binance because relying on just an SMS message is very risky.
3644  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Connecting to multiple exchanges at once? on: May 16, 2021, 01:53:17 PM
There are a number of choices, depending on what you're trying to accomplish.

Two that come to mind are CoinAPI and Apifiny Connect.
  • CoinAPI is a pure connection solution
  • Apifiny Connect seems to have what you may be looking for. I'm trading on 5 out of something like 20 exchanges. They all have colocation which they gave me for free, but I'm not sure if that was a special offer. We're using the FIX API. I'd check them both out, depending on what you need. My fees are lower with them than on the exchanges, too.
(......)
Alternative for these platforms is Shrimpy - "The Social Trading Platform for Cryptocurrency. Simplify the way you manage your portfolio by automating your trading strategy" - https://www.shrimpy.io/.

I checked their demo page and it quite a good, very nice UI. And if you are a developer, or have some knowledge on API, they have Developer's API can be found here: https://developers.shrimpy.io/

They have this demo page, you can check it here: https://www.shrimpy.io/demo

And I saw they already have a lot of supported exchanges, most of them are popular crypto exchanges with huge trading volumes.

3645  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what are you investment strategy on: May 16, 2021, 01:41:34 PM
To be honest, farming or pools will not guarantee a profit. Do you know what is Impermanent Losses when you are doing yield farming/pools?
I saw a lot of people in some random group chat that they are telling that they are more profitable if they just hold the coin that is involved in farming rather than added it to LP and farm.

For now, my strategy is, stick with high market cap altcoins and then small stakes on low market cap altcoins since Bitcoin dominance is still dumping, altcoins lately are getting wild. Most are spot buying, dollar cost averaging too.
3646  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The urge to quit on: May 16, 2021, 01:37:30 PM
Always think that being successful in trading will not take in just 1 night or 1 week.
Trading is survival, the longer you are in the game, the more profit you make. That's why a lot of traders keep suggesting that you should have risk management, never be greedy, or putting your all account balance in just 1 - 2 trade positions.
Capital preservation is the key to survival in trading.
3647  Other / Meta / Re: what is the easiest way to see bitcointalk on a mobile? on: May 16, 2021, 08:56:03 AM
Make sure to use non-desktop view when you are using your mobile browser on surfing in Bitcointalk because if you will enable the desktop-view on your mobile browser, you may experience a desktop view and that's the time you will see very small texts and you will need to zoom first before able to see them clearly.
3648  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to spot common Bitcoin scams and avoid them on: May 16, 2021, 08:53:59 AM
I can add additional the best thing to avoid scams.
High reward, like offering free money but you need to pay them. "Too good to be true", this is very common and the most victims here are the newbies who are aiming for free money or easy money, that's why they are lured with it.
3649  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: reasons for bad trading on: May 16, 2021, 08:39:24 AM

a. price went +20% up, we dont sell.

b. price went -25% down, we sell.
(....)
From what can I see here. It is just showing that a trader doesn't have a goal or plan before entering a trade. I already experienced this like in the scenario I am catching a dump and longing it without planning at all.
In that case, you entered on a trade without stop loss or a price target for that trade, which is really bad practice for a trader.

3650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what do you think about this Bitcoin? on: May 16, 2021, 08:31:53 AM
a few days ago I opened my Binance account to transfer my bitcoins there to my personal wallet, I was surprised because currently Bitcoin already has many networks
(....)
There are still a lot of other networks that pegged Bitcoin, not just what you can see in Binance Exchange.

I am also wondering that these other alternative chains for Bitcoin may help the Bitcoin network to become more scalable like other people will use another network besides the Bitcoin network itself.
3651  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need some advise! If this works, it can/will be life chaning! on: May 16, 2021, 08:26:03 AM
This is like a scam.
What is their service? It is like a paid signal group? Like they will tell you what to buy, when to buy and when to sell?

Their website is trash, no such information and they only provided payments using BNB.

For OP, if you are a newbie in cryptocurrency, never try that site you provided.
3652  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is Easy dont be afraid just on: May 15, 2021, 11:03:01 PM
The same odds to lose are 50:50 to Win.
You lose Only if You buy When price is Up Green*
Or You Panic selling*
If its correction just buy more.
Just make sure You have always other 50% cash to buy the dips*
(.....)
This is very difficult, it's like catching falling knives. Well, maybe we have a different trading strategy.

Are you using stop loss? If no, you may consider yourself a bad trader. There are a lot of things to consider in trading, not only buy low sell high.

Speaking of panic selling, yes this is a very bad act. There are a lot of traders, most are newbies that experiencing this. I think it's normal for them, especially it's their first time experiencing such loss.
3653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What percentage of investment BTC vs ETH on: May 15, 2021, 10:58:54 PM
For me, I allocate more to the highest market cap. It is a high percentage that high market cap projects will stay more longer in the future. Low risk, low ROI (sometimes).
In terms of other altcoins which is the market cap is not that so high, I have small stakes there. We should never underestimate Bitcoin.
3654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Got a stupid question . on: May 15, 2021, 10:55:22 PM
I would also say Twitter or here because if you use the websites that claim to be up to date in most cases they are not.
(....)
Yeah, Twitter is good BUT you should consider who is your following people,  so if your following on Twitter is not interested in such upcoming cryptos, it is limited what you can see.

Since we are already here in Bitcointalk, I can suggest is another section in Altcoin which is Announcements (Altcoins) .
Some of the altcoins announcements are also starting here.
3655  Other / Archival / Re: More Adoption - More Speculation (?) on: May 14, 2021, 01:11:37 PM
The recent Elon Musk FUD was likely the previous FUD that happened with Bitcoin around 2 years ago. This time is different, it can only be driven by a billionaire guy.
I can also consider Elon Musk is likely John Mcaffee of the last bull run, we saw how John Mcaffee entered the cryptocurrency scene since he is the well-known guy in the tech industry, he can pump any altcoins before when he starting to show.
For me, these kinds of FUD from huge personality in crypto will start become a FUD of ETF rejection in previous, which people started to became neutral for some related FUD.

In short, it is just showing that we are still early indeed, a billionaire guy can just easily move the market with just some tweets.
3656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Abolute bottom of Bitcoin? on: May 14, 2021, 06:55:56 AM
My bet ist 30.000 $. If we would fall way
lower then Bitcoin has probably failed for ever.
For me, the best scenario is we will not able to see the lowest price reached of Bitcoin from the last bear run, which is below $4,000.
In short, the 90% correction from the previous all-time-high of around $60,000 is now impossible for me. The market is now different from previous years, volume is different now, adoption is different now.
3657  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elon Musk loses $20B since SNL..would you believe? on: May 14, 2021, 06:43:58 AM
(....)
It's either pure stupidity or a trick to buy more bitcoins at lower price. We will see!
Pure stupidity. Especially since the beginning shilling Dogecoin to other people, it's like a pump and dump.

For me, this kind of action made by Elon Musk is like a show or entertainment.

The good thing here he mentioned that they are not selling Tesla's Bitcoin and if you take a look at his recent tweet, there's something on the picture that 'don't panic' words. And doge devs things, it's something like there is cooking something.
3658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what do you guys use bitcoin for? on: May 14, 2021, 06:37:17 AM
Are you guys currently using bitcoin to make payments or making purchases with bitcoin?
(....)
Both. Since here in our country, using Bitcoin for such payments-especially locally is not that so popular, so most of the uses of my Bitcoins are in online services or products such as online shopping (but this is not directly Bitcoin, It's just swapping your Bitcoin to our fiat and mark as paid the order directly).
Speaking of investment, somewhat like that too. Since I hodl most of my Bitcoin from 2017 and plan to hodl it for the long term.
3659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New meme coins 😂😂😂 on: May 12, 2021, 10:41:51 AM
To be honest, I am very upset about these meme coins or animal coins. Not because I don't make a lot of money because of them, but because the value of other projects became forgotten because of these meme coins.
Additionally is, I am concern for those new people who are just starting to cryptocurrencies, and their first cryptocurrency owned is/are these meme coins which must are no uses.
3660  Economy / Speculation / Re: One Year After The 2020 Halving, Bitcoin Price Has Gained 533% on: May 12, 2021, 10:39:49 AM

If you take a look at this chart. The Bitcoin block halving event is one of the best indicators of all time.
For every block halving we had in the past, we haven't seen any huge dump or closing below the previous Block halving ATH.

But what I observed is, the more halving occurs, the ROI or percentage that Bitcoin pumps become smaller. But that is not important to me now. How Bitcoin works and how convenient it to use it, is already good, the percentage gains or ROI is already a bonus.
