3641  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selecting a proper way to store my Bitcoins on: March 07, 2021, 05:37:07 PM
Hey guys, a noob member here, as I've learned, there are a few ways to store bitcoins: Software wallets, hardware wallets, Paper Wallets, and Web wallets.
I will answer my opinion from your quote, pick the desired wallet as you want.

Software wallet: If you choose noncustodial wallet software, means full control of your funds on your hands. But there is still a risk of getting hack by device hacking. A custodial wallet means the fund isn't fully under the control of you and hacking possibility more than a noncustodial wallet.

Hardware wallet: Fully secured, just need to make sure your wallet credentials like seeds are safe. Hardware wallets hide your private keys, so even your device is hacked, the hackers can't see the private key and can't spend the funds. Always need to sign transactions from the device. Make sure to backup your wallet seed and both (wallet and seed) stored in a secure place.

Paper wallet: I wouldn't agree to use the paper wallet to handle your funds anyway. There is a high risk during generating and importing your private keys especially phishing attempts. Also, there are a few issues during spending like change address which would lead to losing your funds.

Web wallets: Web wallets are really not a wallet. It's just an algorithm. Because there are not true funds, they store your bitcoin under control of them because it's a custodial wallet. When you make a withdrawal, they just send that funds from their hot/cold wallet. I won't recommend it to use to store your funds.

Exchange isn't really safe to store your funds unless you want to trade there. For me, storing your funds on a hardware wallet is quite safer than another wallet. If the amount is bigger then perhaps you would choose a cold wallet as well. Depends on you now which wallet suits you. Please always make sure the address when you are copy pasting.
3642  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance Savings on: March 07, 2021, 05:14:51 PM
Although my choice is Binance as a centralized trading exchange for trade, I wasn't familiar with any kind of investments nor I am interested. I am not a big trader, even I am always worried about my funds there. So I can't invest there for interests. Never-ending the return is big or small. However, I didn't notice it before you wrote here. Because I simply enter there and just open spot trade. Other features aren't for me (for a simple trader) and I don't involve with them.
3643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Purchase on: March 07, 2021, 04:54:48 PM
This 10M is nothing compare to their total holdings. I will call it more like a message "we are still here and we are buying" rather than a thoughtful purchase aimed at increasing their exposure to bitcoin. This shows a little that their bags are full or close to full.
Second that. You just said what was in my mind. MicroStrategy just wants to indicate that they are still accumulating Bitcoin and they believe Bitcoin will grow more. Because they bought 205BTC an average price of $48, 888 means they are expecting the price still reasonable to buy Bitcoin and it will fly more. I think the current bull trend continuing due to institutional investors and their holdings. More likely they aren't going to sell bitcoin in this price range.
3644  Other / Meta / Re: Shame question - links in signature on: March 07, 2021, 04:28:34 PM
For the forum,
There are no specific rules to wear a signature, so you should obey the forum rules during insert a link into the signature like phishing or malware. But yes, you are allowed to use referral links.

For the community,
Since the forum doesn't moderate the scam, so the community cares about it. Wearing a scam site link on the signature would dislike by the community.

So, if you feel the link isn't harmful to the forum and community then you may go. Since a moderator (hilariousandco) answered your question hope you are fine with it.
3645  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best wallet on: March 07, 2021, 04:16:55 PM
Just spend a few days on the forum and use the search button, so you would get a few existing answers from the forum related to your questions. It's quite hard to select a perfect wallet at the beginning. Even a few people think web wallets are bitcoin wallets especially those who are newbies. However, I will suggest buying a hardware wallet if you can afford it. Otherwise, Electrum is the best option for you. But you can't use it for storing multi coins. But on a hardware wallet, you can store multi coins securely. So choose according to your needs. Keep in mind, wallets aren't secure unless you can secure wallet credentials.
3646  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Another Uniswap Fake Airdrop on: March 06, 2021, 06:56:56 PM
This is the most common and popular scam method nowadays. When I open Twitter accounts, many such links are noticed from there although I can't post them due to lack of time. I believe this is a team of a scammer. Because they simply use the same template just changing by domain Mae and logos. All other methods are the same as before. However, I believe more crypto users are familiar with that kind of fake giveaway, and they would save their funds as well from a scammer. Anyway thanks for raise up on this forum. Hope newbies would learn from here.
3647  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Blockchain's phishing website in Google's first search results. on: March 06, 2021, 06:49:05 PM
Same like the forum, Google does not moderate scam Grin. And I don't think their AI would detect a phishing site instantly useless someone report it. I think there is a report button on every ad. Had you tried to report it? I can't see the ads from my device even I searched for blockchain. Not sure either hacker changed the domain name or the ad has taken down. Just report them instantly if you found something like that. However, still some very inexperienced people wouldn't detect that is a scam if taken down the ads, at least a few innocent people will be benefited.
3648  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase support on: March 06, 2021, 05:37:36 PM
Reset it from a device you have previously used to access Coinbase.
Reset it from a location (IP address) you've previously used to access Coinbase."

The first one is probably the reason you're still receiving it, despite using Tor.
Probably you are right, but not sure. Because I had tried resetting the password from a new device that hadn't been used for my coinbase account ever. So surprisingly I received the recovery mail. Just imagine someone lost his device, so how the recovery system would work for him. As you know Tor browser always changes your IP every time you open it, where also password recovery working fine for me.

However, try from your ends, there would be something wrong. Continue to communicate with the support, hope you will able to recover the funds.
3649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Security Issues Question on: March 06, 2021, 05:16:21 PM
Where you had found that news? In a little dig on Google, I have found nothing. When you post something like this you should add at least a reference from where you had heard this news. At least I am not gonna believe in this. How they could steal your money? Are they controlling Bitcoin? Not, it's not possible for a truly decentralized cryptocurrency like Bitcoin. Bitcoin is backed by the worldwide community, not just by China. So it's an unrealistic thought that they have been stealing money. Obviously, that's a piece of fake news if you found it somewhere.

they will probably create their own centralized fake bitcoin soon.
I will not surprise I if discover there is "chitcoin" created by China (Lol).
3650  Economy / Reputation / Re: User SmokerFace - Recycling posts for sig campaign, new way of cheating ? on: March 05, 2021, 06:33:56 PM
There is also another account owned by SmokerFace
add me on facebook: noobfromphseller@gmail.com
The account is question inactive since April 25, 2017, 04:20:45 PM. So it's not worth even tag that user, but I believe that account also changed hands somehow. Because all the related accounts came from account farmer based on your presented evidence. I think more alts would be revealed by deep investigation.

From what I can recall this account was returned to the owner several months after the loan was taken.
So, the account wasn't sold by you. But I quite curious why you had deleted all the related replies there and the main thread's contents have been cleared.

Anyway, the account changed hand, that's the main fact, no matter how.
3651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The World Without Bitcoin on: March 05, 2021, 06:21:58 PM
Isn't many propels have been living without Bitcoin? From my family only I am familiar with Bitcoin, no one else. So aren't they living without Bitcoin, it doesn't affect their lifestyle. There is much centralized Electronic Cash authorized by the government, even you don't need to carry cash for shopping. Even I am involved with bitcoin, at the end of the day I have to use fiat, either it's centralized Electronic Cash or paper money. The reason you know very well, we can't use bitcoin even in my country. So there is no alternative. I believe if there is no Bitcoin, it will not affect our lifestyle. But who had invested in it, of course, it will affect his lifestyle.
3652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin mixers are only for criminals on: March 05, 2021, 06:09:30 PM
Bitcoin designed a "Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System", but peoples using it to scam others. Is that fault goes to the Bitcoin or Bitcoin creator? The mixer has designed to cut the links and receive clean coins, it's mostly using by those who care about privacy. If scammers or hackers using it then really can we blame the mixers? I don't think so. Also, fiat money using for fraud attempts, but we can't blame fiat. Mixers just break the links between transactions. It would be used by criminals or by legit Bitcoin users.

The forum doesn't moderate scams, if scammers using bitcoin to scam people then should the forum stop spread the words about Bitcoin. Same about mixers, if it's using by criminals, doesn't necessary to stop advertising here.
3653  Economy / Reputation / Re: User SmokerFace - Recycling posts for sig campaign, new way of cheating ? on: March 05, 2021, 06:54:39 AM
This all brings up some questions: Is the account still in Parodium's possession?  Did the account get returned to the original owner?  Was the account sold by Parodium?
It's confirmed account changed hand. Because Parodium had been tried to prevent a red tag from that account.

Then tag it after he has paid me back otherwise you will cause me to lose 0.012, he obviously can't scam anybody else whilst I'm holding his account.
That's the reason why Parodium has deleted his replies. At the same time, SmokerFace (Parodium) edited the thread as well. But by mistake, he edits the title with canceled, how a deal would be canceled after the deal is done? Parodium deleted all posts simply means the original owner of SmokerFace defaulted the lent amount. Simply means it's just was an account sell at the end.

Anyway, hope Parodium would clear the story behind it.
3654  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trying to get my first multi crypto wallet on: March 04, 2021, 06:32:34 PM
I hope OP got answers about open and closed source wallets. But do you think it's enough to choose a wallet especially if it a multi-currency wallet? I think the main fact where you choosing a wallet either it's custodial or noncustodial. Take a look at this article Crypto Wallets for Storing Multiple Cryptocurrencies, Top 10 Wallets in 2021 will find a list of few wallets with the details. I haven't used them, so use them at your own risk, I just share information. Most probably take a look at Trust wallet (by Binance). But I will suggest buying a hardware wallet where you can store multiple coins with full safety. It's a noncustodial wallet, so everything under the control of you.
3655  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Forget Blockchain poassword on: March 04, 2021, 06:07:52 PM
@OP, we can't help you if no share more details. Just saying I lost the password, ask for help and disappear after creating the thread wouldn't be helpful to recover your funds. We need a piece of clear information on what currently you have to recover the wallet like other users already asked. Blockchain support won't help you recover your password, so by force, you have to choose an alternative base on your wallet credentials that you have currently.

Anyway, most likely you would find a few PMs from scammers to recover your wallet. Just ignore them and ask to engage with the discussion here if you want to save your funds. Don't hand over your wallet credentials to any scammers.
3656  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitsArcade.com - Crypto Gambling Platform - Start with a 50% deposit bonus! on: March 04, 2021, 05:30:42 PM
We are excited to offer you our casino services now globally, in addition to our Russia Demographic focused casino (play2x.com).
OP can you please describe it in more detail? Seems @markk1 accusing you of fake relationships with the play2x? What is the real story behind that? I there is no relationship with your site then why are you using their name?

And what about your terms and conditions as mentioned by @panjul07? It seems just copy-paste, it's same as your script or you copy-paste from others?

Seems you mentioned you are going to support your users via Telegram, but when I clicked there then it has redirected to your channel. So how are you going to support users since they can't ask questions on the channel?

@markk1, merited you to make visible your images, so someone would read your images.
3657  Other / Meta / Post still exist of a nuked user, forum bug? on: March 04, 2021, 04:36:46 PM
User bitburn nuked on 3/3/2021 8:25:09 PM (as per BPIP status) and seems post and activity is ZERO. He has created a controversial thread, today is 4/3/2021 and  all his posts exist there. Doesn't matter what post he has created, but isn't delete posts when a user nuked?

Is that forum bug?

3658  Other / Meta / Re: YubiKey optional Bitcointalk login on: March 04, 2021, 04:18:33 PM
I am not familiar with Yubikey, just a little search on Google and discover that you need a hardware device to use Yubikey. I don't think it's easy for users at all. In case of device lost or key lost will lead your account not accessible and would quite a lengthy process to recover your account by the forum administration. I know it would more secure from Google 2FA but almost isn't the same? Theme is same, lost key means lost account unless admin recover by themselves. Doesn't matter it's optional, some users obviously will attempt to use it and perhaps we will see many threads about account block.
3659  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase support on: March 03, 2021, 07:20:30 PM
After some research, the password recovery email won't be delivered if you are making a request from an unauthorized IP.
Wrong information. I have tried resetting my coinbase account now from Tor, the new device, and the incognito tab, and got reset links instantly. Do you believe my Tor IP was authorized where I never used my coinbase account on the Tor browser? Even I use it's not possible authorized because IP always has been changing where you open a browser every time.

So I believe there is something wrong. Most probably your girlfriend forgot which mail was used to register a coinbase account. Even you submit a random email during the recovery account the message will be the same as this that they will send a recovery link if there is an account that belongs to that email.

Try with other emails if she has, authorized IP doesn't matter since I can receive reset links via Tor browser.
3660  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About crypto mixers on: March 03, 2021, 06:41:27 PM
Just be careful, there are more fake mixers than legit mixers. And there aren't many ETH mixer seems on the forum. I am not familiar with any reputed ETH mixers, so use it at your own risk whatever suggesting by other users. Always we have been seeing accusations against fake mixers. If you can find some other alternative way then it would be nice to clean your ETH. For example, you can exchange it for some other coins from Dex, then just buyback from other reputed centralized or decentralized exchanges.  It would cost you few extra fees, but you are almost safe.
