3641  Other / Meta / Re: [DEAR ADMIN] Account being Hacked on: March 05, 2018, 02:44:09 PM
Don't you have an older address posted? It probably won't be restored without one. There's also an accusation of the account changing hands several times as referenced in your feedback:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2892017.msg29734347#msg29734347

Did you purchase the account?

hilarious & StephenCurry fighting it out for 1st place but wait......

cicciobtc.....

Lol. Not quite. More like I swiftly dodge to the side as he jumps in as we're both tied right now  Grin. I wonder what the odds are of all the current top five being dethroned.

We should do a higher stakes league next season for the big boys. We can still do a cheaper one at £25 or so but I'm up for putting in £100 or more if there's a handful of others that are. We should probably get more people joining the next time we start it as well.
3643  Economy / Reputation / Re: shdvb hacked? on: March 05, 2018, 11:42:56 AM
He says over wechat he isn't hacked. But there's no way that the original shvdvd doesn't know how to sign an address.

I don't think every single one of his social media accounts is hacked. So maybe he sold all of the accounts?

I thought something fishy was going on when he wanted to find an arbitrage partner

If you have a keylogger or your computer is compromised then all your accounts you use from that one could be. He also could have used the same password across them all. Of course he may have also sold his account or business as well.
3644  Other / Meta / Re: A Copper membership, the btc address changed? on: March 05, 2018, 11:21:58 AM
Membership doesn't automatically change and you have to manually enable it. Go to the membership page and enable it via the the drop-down menu:

3645  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wrong accusation! Please confirm my signed message. on: March 05, 2018, 11:14:18 AM
I never said that I was not online during that time. I just said that I did not have time for this forum! I simply did not visit this forum during the time. I can tell you exactly what has changed. The rapid rise of the btc in 2017!
I think it's a audacity that you accuse me without even a proof to have bought the account. Just because I stayed away from the forum does not mean that the account has changed owners.

I still find it hard to believe or a little suspicious that you're so busy that you can't find the time to post or log on at all in years. Of course nobody is obliged to do so but you're likely going to be under some scrutiny when you return and start offering services after such a long time. And I never accused you of selling your account, but people do buy and sell accounts with private keys attached. That's just a fact.

3646  Economy / Reputation / Re: shdvb hacked? on: March 05, 2018, 11:00:12 AM
yeah several things.List me? I am not worried since i can verify everthing. Plus a Staff member last night already stand on my side and confirmed my account is NOT hacked.

I don't know because I'm not you but if someone wanted to me to prove my identity here or I was who I said I was I know I would be able to provide numerous instances of proof personally relevant to me or answer questions on specific trades or deals I have done that only I and the parties involved would know. As for what level of proof you can provide that is something you're going to have to think about.

For someone involved with bitcoin for so long the fact that you can't sign a message and then post a brand new address asking someone to send money to it is seems a little fishy. Also how your behaviour changed on the 1st and your wife account juts pops up the same day for the first time. Even if you are legit you must be able to accept that things seem a little off here.
3647  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wrong accusation! Please confirm my signed message. on: March 05, 2018, 10:49:55 AM
I do not mean to sound overbearing, but there are people who still have a real life.

Actually, it's none of your business what I did in the meantime and why I stayed away from this forum, but since I have nothing to hide, I'll explain why.

Study, family and my girlfriend were one of the reasons why I did not have time for this forum.

So you don't go online at all during your "real" life? Studying, family and girlfriend take up your time 24/7? What changed now? I'm sure many people can go to school or run businesses, deal with family and girlfriends yet still find time to make the occasional post on a forum. You really don't think the huge gap in your posting is something that others should at least be concerned about?

I do not even know why I need to explain myself AFTER I've posted an SIGNED and a VERIFIED message from an old btc address.  Roll Eyes

As TheQuin just said people do sell accounts with private keys included, but it's still suspicious that you're MIA for years then suddenly decide to come back and start running campaigns. There have been dozens of scammers who have tried to run campaigns and several that have done so successfully. You could just be another one for all we know. You have no history here for years and all the signed message proves is your account isn't hacked but doesn't mean people shouldn't treat you with caution.
3648  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this allowed? is it ethical? indian beggers or just scum bags? on: March 05, 2018, 10:35:45 AM
You could argue it's unprincipled and shameless and I think most people would be annoyed by the behaviour if their personal business is effected by it but there's nothing illegal about the practice. People are free to try offer better deals and services though often times they'll likely be much worse. There have been users and scammers pestering ICOs as soon as they get announced offering to run campaigns for them for little to nothing and there have even been cases where account farmers have gained access to managing campaigns as well and this is something big farmers will be desperate to do so they can just siphon off money to their shitposting alts quite easily.

3649  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wrong accusation! Please confirm my signed message. on: March 05, 2018, 10:19:34 AM
Just what we need: more random accounts popping out of nowhere to offer to run signature campaigns.

Why is there such a huge gap in your posting history? November 14, 2014 was the last post until January 10, 2018. Your first post back was to create this thread that has been suspiciously edited and archived edited:

Please delete this thread.

Thank you.
3650  Economy / Reputation / Re: shdvb hacked? on: March 05, 2018, 10:13:28 AM
So after a while thinking that maybe I could help him verify that he's not really hacked, I came to his live chat (https://tawk.to/thomasxu) and talked to him. I asked him to upload a selfie with a paper that says "I am not hacked, 04 March 2018" on his own Facebook page which he just did and by the look of it, I think he's the real Thomas.
So you are saying that you have evidence and believe that shdvb is not hacked?

I have his skype id, where I talked to him many times. If it help to confirm from skype, I can talk him there. But I never saw his face, so I can't confirm his face.

Depends to what level he's been compromised. Maybe the attacker has access to everything.

!!!This account is not hacked or compromised by anyone.I still and will always have the account ownership.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3061930.new#new this could get cleared up sooner or later.
For this,I need an old customer of mine to tip me a small amount of bitcoins like 0.0001 to my trezor wallet below
so I could sign a signature and prove what you guys want.

My trezor bitcoin wallet: 3Q8EpEZpConcWq3Mn8FGYikZg1eCTYAw3h

Lol, where have you posted that address before? It's had no transactions. All these things you're claiming and then failing to provide any reasonable evidence that you are who you say you are just make this look more suspicious. You've been trading on here for years so there must be several things you could use to prove your identity beyond reasonable doubt.
3651  Other / Meta / Re: Account hacked cyrus dont reply three weeks passed Theymos TOO (NEED ATTENETION) on: March 05, 2018, 10:07:29 AM

i have not posted any address
can you assign message to anyone address no , i assign message to the txid i posted so i think this is right ,
second i lock the account immediately when i get the mail so this proof owner ship too

are there any more things i can get my account back ?

You can't sign a message to a txid as it's not got a private key?
And also I don't think there's a way to get it back if you haven't posted a signable public key.
i have assigned message to the address which is in the txid , i have private key

Can you provide reasonable proof that that address is yours? Where was that transaction made and who else did it involve? This is a case where an admin will likely have to look into other evidence to corroborate like IPs etc but the chances of an admin looking into this right now though are slim to none as even straight forward cases with legit signed messages seem to not be getting handled.
3652  Other / Meta / Re: Forum subject - limit of posts on: March 05, 2018, 10:03:05 AM
Is there a limit to the number of posts that can be placed in a given subject?

There isn't but theymos could easily implement it, but a maximum number of posts wouldn't do much because people would just open up another thread right after. People already create the same topics just reworded in a different order time after time:

what is the bitcoin for you? and how did he change your life?
how do bitcoin change your life?
Can bitcoin change your life better than before?
How does bitcoin affect your life?

Those are actual threads. I've probably locked or trashed dozens of those type of threads along with bitcoin vs gold, Is bitcoin better than gold, Gold or bitcoin, which do you prefer? Is bitcoin a better currency than gold? etc etc but they're never ending. The problem is shitposters and crapcpin campaigns. Hopefully they'll die down once people realise posting in them will get them next to zero merits but they're still valuable fort shitposters to shitpost in.
3653  Economy / Reputation / Re: shdvb hacked? on: March 04, 2018, 03:38:25 PM
no one got compromised.
shdvb-assistant is my wife. WE recentlly moved into a new office so I decided to let her register and help me while i am away from PC.I can understand to sign a signature but most of my previous transactions' wallets are from exchanges,i dont own the private key of them.

All we have is your word for that at the moment and it's a bit suspicious "she" suddenly shows up for the first time the day you change your password. You must have some other proof that you're legit seeing as you've been trading on here for so long. What was with the random out of character thread seeking trades/trust?

This doesn't look like a post a highly trusted member would make: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3061131.msg31523173#msg31523173

I checked his profile and the seclog, and he apparently changed his password on 1st March.

Did you archive it?

Wow now deleting threads?? Bye bye chances of proving you are innocent

He didn't delete it - I did. It was reported as spam but then I saw his feedback and checked this thread.
3654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk English Premier League pool betting Discussion Thread on: March 04, 2018, 03:33:36 PM
Yeah, Cicciobtc has just taken the top spot for the first time I believe but hopefully not for long  Grin. I just got a correct score on the 2-1 Brighton win over Arsenal which if Cicciobtc didn't predict a Brighton win will take me ten points clear at the top again I believe. Doesn't really matter though cos it's still so close at the top.
3655  Other / Meta / Re: Trust spam report + suggestion on: March 04, 2018, 11:55:46 AM
Something should be done about blatant abuses but nothing likely will. Theymos is probably too busy to investigate and I don't think cyrus has the powers to remove it (though I could be wrong, but he'll also likely be too busy to do so). I've suggested before some restrictions should be put in place like maybe a user can only leave one feedback per day on a user (or maybe even longer - week, month etc). They can still edit the feedback with any additional updates but there's probably not many good reasons why people should be able to spam a users trust. I've had one on my hilariousandco account who went on a spamming spree in the past removed but the huge feedback from steamproject advertising his scammy torrent invites sales is still there despite requesting it to be removed. Other such instances like yours should also be removed but I doubt it's a priority for the admins right now sadly.
3656  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Love-making Immortalized - Drawbacks of the Merit System on: March 04, 2018, 11:15:21 AM
That thread is pretty cringe but at least it's entertaining and there's clearly effort and knowledge gone into it. I would rather read posts like that than the standard generic shitposts of bitcoin is good because it is profit and helps me with my daily needs which is good in every possible permutation over dozens of accounts. And it's those sorts of posts that shouldn't and won't be merited, but I see no real reason why the post in the op shouldn't be merited. As cringe as that thread is, it really isn't one you should be attacking and there will be far better (or worse) examples of posts that should be called out.
3657  Other / Meta / Re: Is it too late for newbies to rank up on Bitcointalk? on: March 04, 2018, 11:10:49 AM
It depends on what sort of poster you are. It's harder for people to farm accounts just by making lazy contributions because now you need a certain amount of merit to move through the ranks. However, it still takes a long time to rise through the ranks and most people should be able to get sufficient merit during that time so poor posters will struggle but good quality poster should probably breeze through.
3658  Economy / Reputation / Re: shdvb hacked? on: March 04, 2018, 10:44:16 AM
This account popped up registered on the 1st as well replying to posts in his thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1895733     shdvb-assistant

You must be able to provide proof from some form of personal wallet given the amount of time here. He had plenty of other channels of communication as well which someone should probably try verify (though I guess they could have been compromised as well).
3659  Other / Meta / Re: Account Recovery Moderator on: March 01, 2018, 05:04:31 PM
Exactly the purpose of the 14 day period.

And what's to stop people ordinarily selling their accounts and trying to reclaim them back anyway. I mean there's not too much evidence that would be gatherable to prove the account wasn't hacked, sold and is then reclaimed by the original owner. Buying accounts is quite risky.

1 day or 14 it doesn't make a difference really as they'll just wait whatever delay it is out then follow the process. And people have sold their account and tried or have even been successful in claiming it back in the past.  At the moment the thing that is probably stopping them from doing this is people aren't getting their accounts back at all Grin. This sort of scam would become more common if someone was actively handling the requests but even more so if the process was automated. To kill the market for accounts I think we should just disallow their sale here and allow people to purchase additional membership ranks (Silver and Gold) that come with the benefits of Full and Hero members etc. Would pretty much all but kill the account farming and selling business and curb the chance of people just doing the restore scam.
3660  Other / Meta / Re: Ideas for improving post quality? on: March 01, 2018, 04:56:46 PM

I like your idea, which I want to underline is the point of holding a tire for account sales. I think this activity which selling and buy an btt acount make this forum be a bad quality.

I think we have to stop selling and buying an btt account.

I wouldn't be against prohibiting users from selling their accounts here as the majority of people doing so are either straight up scammers or shitposting spammers, but giving people the option of being able to purchase the signatures from us with membership would essentially all but kill the market for them instead. Sales could also be banned as well to pretty much put the nail in the coffin of account sales here.
