Bitcoin has a future because the system based on technology whilst the mindset of most people will change slowly where the technology highly affect their minds. For instance in my country, before the online shop is crowded such as now they are very reluctant to use it even assuming that the online shop is scam or a place of fraud. But if I see now, most of them use online shop as easy place for shopping, even as a place that most liked by many people.
This is what will happen to bitcoin in the future and may some people has revoked the babble about bitcoin in the past. Related to the government, actually I have a little confident to them, they may still selfish to accept bitcoin as payment system or as a place for investment and be included into several categories such as commodities or property. Most of government will still look to bitcoin as a currency which they could not accept rashly.

The regulation is important for cryptocurrency at least to make everyone know about cryptocurrency. If I need stability and safety I will choose XRP, but if I need high profits I will choose ETH. 2018 shows the stability of XRP, but that means less profit.
I don't think XRP have stability price, if you see the price movement on coinmarketcap XRP price have the same with other altcoin even with ETH price. Also, in the past few month XRP and ETH alwasy overtake each other to take second place. Because the value of the bitcoin last few days ago reached again $4100 and now it's $3800 each bitcoin . So it good to have more bitcoins now because you can do shorterm if you want or maybe longterm depends if you think bitcoin can increase again in the next few months or years from now. Buying bitcoin is really good opportunity and also possible for you to have good future.
How if bitcoin price fall to $3300 again like a few weeks before? Everyone have a worries about that, so as they take a safe way to wait untill the price really recover. I do believe that makes prices drop dramatically when one of the tokens is successfully listed on an exchange are because of bounty hunters. You can imagine that every bounty hunter has a large number of tokens, let's say 50,000 per bounty hunter so they are able to increase and decrease the volume. I did not expect this I thought Bitcoin is heading to $4200 level and then this thing happen it was so fast and it seems every body was caught by surprise.
I don’t want to think that this is a bull trap, i think this is just a correction. Well, as expected there is no easy way to up again but for sure it will still grow high. The market price is still good, it will go beyond the resistance level again. We will see another pump after the hardfork on ETH. When I saw the recent market I agreed with you, there is no bull trap. The price of bitcoin and altcoin does not decrease dramatically when it rises, but falls slowly and a few moments later prices will rise slowly again. I gambled to make money and I have no any other reason why I gamble. I think many of us if we can be sincere do the samething. Gambling is a game and investing into gambling so be taking as such. This question makes me think that bitcoin doesn't really have a decentralized system. OP thinks that by making bitcoin by satoshi then satoshi will affect everything about bitcoin and even he can change it into a centralized system. But bitcoin is not like that, bitcoin will still have a decentralized system even though satoshi is truly an American, he will not change anything and will not give a limit to some economically competing countries.
