3641  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Using an ASIC for something other than mining on: December 23, 2021, 04:54:51 PM
Actually, you can if you can make a program for ASIC chips to run for brute-force or search data but the speed is different compared to mining.

I suggest you read this "Why Bitcoin Mining ASICs Won’t Crack Your Password"
It will tell you how they try to use ASIC chips on brute-forcing the only problem is it's very slow. And ASIC chips are not designed for cracking it was created only for mining.
3642  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S19 Pro - one hash board missing on two rigs on: December 23, 2021, 04:00:49 PM
Both miners have missing ASIC chips that cause the middle hashboard shutdown.

If you bought this new from Bitmain I suggest try to flash it first with the latest version your miner version is currently running nov firmware so upgrading it with the latest one might solve this issue.

If it is still under warranty you can send it back to the manufacturer for repair.
Also if it's 2nd hand unit or not under warranty you can try to replug cables on the middle hashboard then test it again.
3643  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transactions on: December 22, 2021, 11:58:28 PM
Hello,
We have traded on purse.io, but DE and FR products may not be traded, so we need others to help us.

Are you sure I know they only support a few countries but you can use a freight forwarder just like what they suggested here "supported countries"

If you can't then your other option is to buy an amazon gift card you can try to check this list of gift cards from the link below

Then you can use it buying directly to Amazon DE or FR as you said.
3644  Other / Meta / Re: [HELP ON REFUND] WRONGLY SENT $1000 worth of BTC to copper member payment addres on: December 22, 2021, 11:33:45 PM
Next time check carefully if what address you pasted before you send a BTC it sometimes happens to me before that I sent BTC to someone here because I copy-pasted someone's address from the signature campaign and then sent a BTC. I'm lucky that he sent my BTC back.
And I believe it's always happened it won't be a trojan horse just like the above said.

So since you sent it to the forums address accidentally I think you have a chance to get it back minus the transaction fee. Just wait a bit until Cyrus or theymos become online.
3645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A question about inputs and outputs - re: Aantonop's bitcoin book on: December 22, 2021, 11:18:05 PM
Yes, but it is Alice wallet.

Assuming you are Alice, you were sent 1 BTC. You sent 0.4 BTC to Bob, the 0.4 BTC output you sent to Bob will becoming input for Bob and Bob will be able to spend from it. But not only that, the remaining 0.6 BTC will be sent back to change address generated on your wallet which is what you are referring to. Anytime you want to spend again, you can spend the change address utxo.

It won't become input if you receive a change in your wallet it would be still an output or we can call it (Unspent transaction output)UTXO.

It only becomes inputs when you make a transaction just like what you see on the image above as a sample.
3646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A question about inputs and outputs - re: Aantonop's bitcoin book on: December 22, 2021, 09:17:30 AM
I think the change output is what are you talking about?

Yes, it will become input again if you create another transaction for now it's output. It's just like you are buying shoes at a price of $59 but you don't have the exact amount of $59 and you only have $100. You pay $100 to the seller and you will get a change amount of $41.

It's the same as what Bitcoin transaction works.

Just adding this sample image below to understand it a bit

3647  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Costs for a Mining Pool Provider? on: December 21, 2021, 11:59:24 PM
So do you have a plan to make a mining pool?

It won't cost anything if you run a mining pool with your own PC there are open source code out there called Yiimp you can find it with this link below

It only costs you if you going to host it to VPS and buy a domain.
3648  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Is it safe to test run S9 Antminer with 110v? on: December 21, 2021, 11:39:55 PM
Based on what I heard before there is someone successful running s9 with 110v but they disconnect two hashboard and only mine with one hashboard.

Don't run all hashboard with 110v because it can melt wires and connectors or if you don't want to have a burnt or broken power supply.
3649  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S19J abnormal hashrate. No error in Kernel on: December 21, 2021, 05:31:41 PM
Just ignore them if the miner is mining normally and hashing but according to Bitmain if you have that kind of issue it might be because of a connection issue.

Replug all fan cables and the ethernet cable is what they suggest. So try it and hope those invalids will be gone at least if not then just ignore them.
3650  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I earn a free BTC? on: December 21, 2021, 04:41:20 PM
Have you tried to read the sticky thread here in this section?
Read this "[General] How to earn Bitcoins"

Claiming free BTC is the easiest one you can find most of the BTC faucets under the Micro earnings section.

Also, you can earn here on the forum but newbies are not allowed to join any signature campaign you should be ranked up first before you can join.

Adding this if you have knowledge about CPA then you can earn free BTC promoting offers from CPAbuild and earn huge they do pay in BTC but mainly pay in Paypal.
3651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who maintains the BTC blockchain on the Net? on: December 21, 2021, 03:56:51 PM
If the miners all quit and shut down all their computers, would the blockchain cease to exist?
No. Miners are very crucial, they mine new blocks and confirm transactions. Both miners and 'nodes for transaction validation' are very important part of the network.

I agree it does not exist but if his question is all about the nodes and miners then blockchain still exist but the only problem is who do you think can verify and validate transactions before the blocks are generated both nodes and miner are needed to construct a block that includes transactions and added to the blockchain.

So if all nodes and miners are shut down and no one verifies and validates the transaction then there are no blocks being generated and our transaction will be stuck forever but the blockchain still exists.
3652  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S19J abnormal hashrate. No error in Kernel on: December 21, 2021, 03:00:51 PM
Do you have a stable internet connection? What is your internet speed?

This is what I found

Code:
2021-12-21 11:30:58 WARN_NET_LOST: network connection lost
2021-12-21 11:30:58 will power off in 72 seconds in case not resume
2021-12-21 11:32:09 network connection lost for 5 min + 72 seconds, power off...
2021-12-21 11:32:16 chain avg vol drop to 1.27
2021-12-21 11:36:04 ****power off hashboard****

Can you try to run or switch to another pool server if you are living on ASIA you should use an ASIA pool server or if you are living in the US then you should use a US pool server to get the lower latency?

Also, notice this

Code:
021-12-21 11:36:09 Invalid config option --bitmain-fan-pwm: '' is not a number
2021-12-21 11:36:09 Invalid config option --bitmain-freq: '' is not a number
2021-12-21 11:36:09 Invalid config option --bitmain-voltage: '' is not a number
2021-12-21 11:36:09 Invalid config option --bitmain-ccdelay: '' is not a number
2021-12-21 11:36:09 Invalid config option --bitmain-pwth: '' is not a number
2021-12-21 11:36:09 Invalid config option --bitmain-freq-level: '' is not a number

and this below sometimes it doesn't have a fan power signal

Code:
2021-12-21 11:24:05 fan_eft : 0  fan_pwm : 0

The fan might be the issue that is why you have an invalid config option according to the above logs.

Try to upgrade it to the latest version and test it again if your issue doesn't solve then post the whole kernel logs again here.
3653  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Miner-Va ASIC Miner default password. on: December 20, 2021, 11:59:20 PM
Why not try to contact the support? support@miner-va.com

Their website doesn't have so much page and I don't see where you can find the admin password.

Or try this admin admin or admin root
3654  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help w Hedging - Puts? on: December 20, 2021, 11:36:10 PM
Are you talking about hedge trading I never had done it before but I heard that you can do hedge trading on Binance?

I don't know exactly what you need is that a guide on trading with hedge mode?

On Binance there are some guides and videos on how to do hedge trading and explain how it works I'll give you a few videos and links below.

- Hedge Trading in Binance
- Understanding Price And Basis Of A Futures Contract

Does it seem the hedge trading is mostly used on future contracts or margin trade?
3655  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How long to crack 24 word phrase if you know all 24 words out of order? on: December 20, 2021, 04:25:10 PM
I think it all depends on your hardware speed like on btcrecover.py on cracking password, encrypted key, or seed phrase.

They have a list of hardware performance both CPU and GPU you can find it here https://btcrecover.readthedocs.io/en/latest/GPU_Acceleration/
Based on that chart GPU is much faster than CPU.
3656  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Miner A851 (Request for Help) on: December 20, 2021, 03:56:31 PM
I'm not so familiar with the logs of the old Avalon miner but I would like to ask if this is the whole API logs?

If not, post the whole API logs and use insert code tag(# icon) before you post or if you experience a character limit then you can paste it to pastebin.com and share the URL here.

The only thing that I could suggest is to try it to upgrade to newer firmware because your Avalon firmware version is 2018
You can download the firmware directly from here https://download.canaan-creative.com/

Also, check this "troubleshooting and repair guide by HagssFIN"
3657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: non-standard segwit(BECH32) transaction on: December 20, 2021, 01:20:25 PM
You can also contact him directly on his website proofofwork.energy

My suggestion try to broadcast your transaction with this link below
- https://www.f2pool.com/pushtx

The only problem is you don't have a referral code only those who mine on their pool could use that service. They are partnered with Viabtc but I don't know if they do allow non-standard segwit or uncompressed segwit.

Much better if you can find someone who mines on f2pool to broadcast your transaction or try to contact f2pool.

Here's the contact info support@f2pool.com
3658  Economy / Reputation / Re: 'Not all 1xbit promoters are scammers' on: December 19, 2021, 11:27:03 PM
All I see is group of people who cant see others earning money. I am sure the campaign against 1xbit is launched by there competitors who don't want them getting success. This method is very common to beat your opponent. Interestingly you wont find solid prove against 1xbit, just few DT members leading this blame game.

What solid proof do you need? They already admit that they are scammers look read this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5266815.0

Base on the OP they scammed someone 2 years ago and they are trying to solve the case but the reason most of the users who use their service reply on that thread and give some proof that they scammed. Why not, read the whole thread?

3659  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 Reboots every Minute or so on: December 19, 2021, 04:49:45 PM
Actually, I'm not so familiar with BraiinsOS logs if you want to troubleshoot this issue I suggest switch it back to stock firmware.
So that we can troubleshoot the problem and understand the logs.

The guide on how to switch it back to the original firmware is here below.

And then once it's successful run the miner first in 30 minutes then copy all kernel logs and post it here make sure to use the insert code tag to make your thread clean and also edit your first post and put all logs inside the insert code tag it looks # icon above this button Undecided icon.
3660  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 1246, Problems with 1 hb on: December 19, 2021, 04:29:42 PM
I am in EU and the asics are connected to the network via a 4g modem, and always all the old batches of s9 s17+ m20 e.t.c worked fine.

Are you connected to the EU pool server?
I think even you have a 4g connection the latency shouldn't be around 200ms if your miner is connected to the right server but if you are connected to the US then the ping you have is right. All your miners will work but you will still experience some network failure and unstable hashrate to the pool.

Where actually do you mine and what exact stratum pool you are connected to?
