3641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to control greed on gambling? on: December 27, 2016, 06:56:15 PM
I got to control mine by finding something to do with my own life. Controlling it is hard especially if you've been addicted to gambling for a long time, and that's what causes you to be greedy. Another thing you can do is withdrawing each time you reach a certain amount. For example you deposit 0.1, make 0.05 profit and you withdraw 0.1. Now you play with 0.05 and when you make 0.025 in profit you withdraw 0.05 and so on.
3642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the location affect when we gamble? on: December 27, 2016, 06:47:10 PM
If you're talking about your win chance, it won't be affected in any way. You won't have a higher or a loser chance, the only things that are changed are that you will be harder to be traced by the website and your connection will be just a little bit slower.

Even if they did manage to breach something it would likely be only a small portion of the site. Likely it wouldn't even be a significant financial loss considering most funds are held in cold storage. Without any more technical knowledge I can't say what data could be compromised though but based on what I've heard nothing critical would be at risk.
It is a misconception that the breach in data wouldn't affect the wallet or bitcoins as they are secured in a cold storage.A small portion of the site is enough to further make it exploitable to other parts.

For example,A small entry into the database can give user details like their passwords. If a user hasn't deactivated 2FA,all it would take is a simple login into the account and request for withdrawal.I'm assuming they're white listing the known ip addresses and hence this thread could be eliminated. But it still doesn't make it less vulnerable to attacks.

As far as I'm aware passwords are hashed so that's not a big of a risk. I was also referring to no significant financial loss happening. That means nothing over what hotwallet is holding.

No significant financial loss? There should be 0 financial loss in case of a theft. Although it'd make the site slower, I'd first focus on the security of it. These security measures should be met for the security of the users: each user data should be encrypted, first of all. After that, you should have a main password for logging in and the secondary password for the encrypted data. In case there's a new device logging in, you should either use a 2FA code or confirm your identity by an SMS or email code. Although they sound and are annoying at times, remember these are for your own protection and in case of a theft, you'll be safe and you'll thank the website for having them later.
3644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some people prefer Bitcoin over fiat ? on: December 27, 2016, 06:31:28 PM
I prefer Bitcoin, gold and silver. They're probably the safest ones to go for, especially gold and silver because they exist physically and an energy or internet blackout won't make them vanish. I'd go for one of the three as soon as I get money, I mean I prefer having something that cannot suddenly turn out into a piece of paper overnight if a crisis happens.
3645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Forever: 26.04 BTC Burned In 2016 on: December 27, 2016, 06:23:43 PM
What if they were actually cold wallets? It doesn't matter though, there are probably hundreds of thousands or millions of Bitcoins gone. People who joined Bitcoin in the first year might have thrown away their PCs, or erased the data they had together with their offline Bitcoin wallet. There were many cases in which they later found out they had millions in their accounts after cleaning up the house.
3646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto bank on: December 27, 2016, 06:18:51 PM
well, i dont know about europe, but in south america still impossible to "get rid of banks totally".
most of my expenses i can pay directly with bitcoin if i want but a few things will always need FIAT(taxes for example)... and to pay these things i need my bank account...

In any country you would be you need to pay in fiat. Bitcoin payments are not agreed by the governments and will never be, unless Bitcoin turns into the global currency (I don't think it will happen though). Anonymous = dangerous, in the politicians' minds. It's exactly the opposite, but whatever..
3647  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE CASINO - 90BTC MAX WIN, 1BTC JACKPOT, BET BACK, DAILY EVENTS! on: December 21, 2016, 01:17:15 PM
Yeah, having the multiple chat rooms for different languages is certainly a good addition and makes the site more friendly for non-English speaking users.

Looking forward to seeing some more users become active in these channels.
We should really expect that this thing would really happen since bitdice is growing everyday and players are increasing as the days or months goes by.Different chatbox would really be already a necessity as admin mention above.I would love to see bitdice community would go bigger.

A chat for different languages is required, especially for the most used ones. They do not even need to translate anything, just to add more sections. On the most popular websites I had visited, the Russian chat was as popular as the English one.
3648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What gambling method are you using for Dice? on: December 21, 2016, 01:09:37 PM
i have been playing dice for a very long time and all this time i have been trying so many different gambling strategies.

1) martingale strategy (the common way)
the normal/common way of using the 2x multiplier and increasing the bet size 100% on lose.

2) martingale strategy with different multiplier
the same thing but with different multipliers hence different increase on lose.

3) Anti-Martingale
also known as reverse martingale. which is the same thing as martingale but you reduce the bet on loss and increase on win.

4) Random bets
whenever i am tired or just want to have some fun i make random bets. i choose some random amount, multiplier and click roll and this is actually pretty interesting strategy because the outcome always surprises me.

5) if you have any other strategy please share it here with us.

Edit: i am not talking about a dice method for 100% win rate! that would be absurd. i am asking which method you like better, and enjoy using or have better results.

The martingale method and all it`s twists never works.

I don`t know why do you suggest it.

I place random bets and depend on my intuition.

You get from a beginning bet of $0.1 to hundreds of dollars within a few bets only. The money necessary to win something is enormous - and don't forget that playing with 2x multiplier and beginning with $0.1, even after $100k spent... After one win you still get JUST $0.1! If you want more profit, you need a higher multiplier. Martingale requires resources and luck.
3649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what is definition gambling in your mind? on: December 21, 2016, 01:07:06 PM
An addiction that cannot stop without your will. It's a game where you can try your luck, but an unpredictable one. There are a few lucky guys out there that won a lot, but I doubt that's their own profit and they have no debt to the banks or so.. I heard many people saying they're rich because of winning so much in gambling or trading but in reality they borrowed a lot of money from the banks after they lost all they had.
3650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading vs Gambling on: December 21, 2016, 01:04:54 PM
Trading is widely different from gambling!as earth wide from the sky. A professional trader treat trading as a business why a professional gambler treat gamble as a get rich quick business. A trader used analytical tools to make and information decision and also place his position in the trade based on an underlined pattern he or she has set for him self. A gambler always has two hope either losing or profiting.

That is right. In short, mostly trade is about business and making money patiently and gambling is about earning easy money. Though not all traders trade for business, they also trade for fun and their hobby and happiness. They get what they want from trading things and their money. In gambling, there are instances that they really look gambling as a side show or an entertainment to spend your time and have fun with your friends. Well bitcoin is free right? We dont have a right to stop them, but we are just giving them tips base on our experiences.

I agree that not all traders trade for business, but most of the traders do it for money. Yup, I think there is no fun we will get in trading, it's pure business. It's just my opinion maybe you guys will enjoy this trading I don't know. The gambling is a completely entertaining game here people will play for money and fun. If you are lucky, you will get both. If you are unlucky you will get only fun.

trading is a lot of stress so you are right that it is no fun but if you are making money, specially if you are good at trading and make lots of money then there is no fun better than that when you buy low and watch your investment grow at the speed of light mostly in altcoins that are getting pumped and you got in early.

If you know the news and their meaning, you know what is next for the currencies. Otherwise there would be no billionaire trader.. Every information you get from the Internet, if you're among the first ones to find out about it, can always be in your interest and you can make good decisions in a short time that will multiply your money.
3651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there a good modified martingale strategy? on: December 21, 2016, 01:02:48 PM
Martingale doesn't work as a strategy. These strategies are actually ways you can try your luck, but trust me: none of them work unless you got luck. I have tried as many "strategies" as I could when I was gambling and I almost never won anything with them. Most profit was from manual or automated bets, with my own "strategy".. Cheesy
3652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Highest profit on Bitcoin Gambling? on: December 21, 2016, 01:01:12 PM
I don't know what about single bet wins, but the biggest profit one player had was OVER 1kBTC. That's millions of dollars, and the site went bankrupt for a while. The player was HufflePuff from PrimeDice, and rigged the website to be able to know every upcoming number. I wasn't there when the hack occured, but I watched videos on YouTube and it's insane.
3653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The best way to quit gambling for good on: December 21, 2016, 12:57:46 PM
The best way I was able to do it was finding something else to do with life. I found a hobby and I only gamble once in a while, like once per two to three months. And when I do, I do not even play with my own funds. I play with faucets, I think it's the best way to earn something without investment. Although I didn't win much (only a few hundred bucks), I was able to quit my addiction which is amazing for me.
3654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel shameful for being a gambler? on: December 21, 2016, 12:39:39 PM
I don't. Why should I feel shameful when I won money for free? Unlike others, I'm only gambling with faucets so I do not lose any money. And even if I won $100 and then lost it, it would be exactly like I never had it. If you can control yourself and play with limits, you have no reason to feel like that.
3655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you gamble your (or your child's) school fund? on: December 21, 2016, 12:37:32 PM
I wouldn't gamble ANY money that I have put away to save up. Especially if it would be the money I saved for my children. These funds can go away within SECONDS if you got a bad day. Gambling is known for meaning loss in the long run.. Why would I do this to my children?! I mean I would rather keep that money and give it to them later than trying to double the amount and losing all...
3656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this true or a speculation on: December 21, 2016, 12:34:29 PM
There are many websites like these. A thief won't stop after its first crime, they need more and more money every time so they go for bigger scams. I doubt these guys even get their site "hacked", it's just another reason to run away with the money with this excuse. After they close one website, they open a better looking one to attract more people and they go on with the scams. Never keep your funds in any website.
3657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your pain and problems in the bitcoin world on: December 21, 2016, 12:28:06 PM
Transaction time is the main problem for me. Sometimes, I have to wait for up to 2 hours to convert my Bitcoins to fiat in Localbitcoins. And logging in to the Blockchain.info wallet can be quite frustrating sometimes. There are instances when the email code never arrives.

Blockchain wallet seems to be a pain sometimes... I can't send funds from my phone, I always get an error and I hate it when I need to go to Chrome and try to send it from there... It's harder to do it, you can't even scan the QR code..
3658  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is a good investment now, because... on: December 21, 2016, 12:22:50 PM
Because it is a badass.  Grin

Just look at where it is now. You could reminisce way back it was just $300+ then try to view it again and you will how cool to have even just 1 bitcoin in your wallet.

Nobody had believed in 2012 that Bitcoin will go over $50 EVER. And one year later it didn't go up to $50.. It went up to $1200! Huge increase in such a short time. Imagine having 100 Bitcoins in 2012 (1BTC was $10) and one year later the $1k you spent suddenly turns into $120000. This was caused by the halving which took place only once ever since Bitcoin has been released. The second halving took place a few months ago.. Will we see the same effect taking place soon??
3659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: December 21, 2016, 12:06:00 PM
Who know's maybe bitcoin really is the future of money we don't know what the future may bring
but this crypto currency is really rocking right now so let's just enjoy it while it last

It's going to last longer than you think. Bitcoin having a lower price means negative profit for miners and investors. The miners are the most important ones because they generate the Bitcoin we're all using. I think the price will skyrocket and it's going to be like that for a while - the recent events do not look like something good is about to happen soon!
3660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Proof on: December 21, 2016, 12:02:24 PM
The real proof you can have is the private key. That's where Bitcoin is being stored. Wallets are the ones just making your job easier and smoother - they provide you an user interface that will let you spend and receive easily. It's like a PC operating system - you can use Linux, but if you want everything to be fast and work within just a few clicks, you might need Windows.
