36501  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Avalon 4.1 Miner 1.3 TH 40+ units on: July 09, 2015, 02:22:03 PM
Right now no one sells to the usa except bitmaintech.

No 4.1's
No sp20's

the only new  gear is  avalon usb sticks

so yeah it is bitmaintech or nothing.

I would get the mini's from avalon but no reply at all.

That shits just weird to me. Why did they post the mini and never put a price for sales? Then they leave prices up for the 4.1 and 4.1 suite....makes no sense.

Yeah I know..   I think I could get a few partners and buy 40 to 100 of these maybe 200 of them.

Then spilt them up between the partners and sell them off.  I feel The mining game is passing us by. Oh well.
36502  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: i have $250,000 to start a farm help me plan it on: July 09, 2015, 02:19:12 PM
hello all, i like to see what you would think, if you had $250,000 to start your own farm, what eqip ? how much equip would you use? what software would you use? how would you set it up? and would you be profitable within 12 months?

i know power cost is one of the main factors, so pls assume average but not high,

so what would you build ?

or list your dream farm as well , sure why not think big or go home is what i always say! so please help me plan a farm ! i cant gold mine in the yukon like on discover, so let me mine what i can while i can so please help me a lil info goes a long way

Listen to the others   your power cost is average  means you lose money.

Now your best real chance is to get some one to make you custom miners from good chips.

Sidehack and Novak have been playing with bitmaintech's chips and getting really good  efficient results.

If they built you miners that were more efficient in mass production amounts you may stand a chance.

a .3 watt miner with .09 cent power is as good as a .6 watt miner with .045 cent power.  do the math.

This would be the only way you stand a chance to make money.
36503  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New R-Box Upgrade Kit on: July 09, 2015, 01:31:18 PM
Just had a thought about selling my 2 remaining New-RBoxes these days but now I will wait a little longer and watch this thread  Wink

You have some free action for a while.

I saw a really nice heat sink  for 12 bucks on ebay. I think I will get it and just hope these get built.
36504  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: I am judging interest in a group buy of the Avalon mini on: July 09, 2015, 01:29:37 PM
I emailed again.  First email was sent on the 30th of June.

I am hoping for an answer even if it is no.  No response at all is pretty hard to deal with.

I had a few pm's about joint funding so I may be able to buy a large order.

Maybe I will get a response.

First are you are windows?

Second  ask us first before you load drivers.

but  now that you loaded zadig  don't use the bitminter app.   as it does not use zadig drivers. ---- I could be wrong since I have stopped using it and I use cgminer

try  downloading cgminer 4.9.2 from here if you are on windows

36507  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: If electricity was free, which machine would you recommend? on: July 09, 2015, 01:06:57 PM
Your question itself have the answer.

If electricity was free, then why should you bother about any machine?  Huh

This answer makes no sense at all.

If indeed he has free power the answer is a used S-3.

Then use the profit to buy a a used S-5.  in Sept 2015

Then use the profit to buy a used S-7.    around Jan 2016.

The only issue is how much free power he has.
36508  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New R-Box Upgrade Kit on: July 09, 2015, 12:43:07 PM
If I'm not able to fit S1 holes on it, they'd still fit on a redrilled S1 heatsink. So, anything you could mount a standard S1 board on would fit two of these side-by-side.
Yes, it'd have a PCIe for power and a USB.

And you'll loose all the buyers who wants to buy in quantity....

I think nobody will redrill 100 or 200 pieces of S1 or S3.... Redrill and make the screwthreads.... Not a good idea.

but he has 1000 chips with 600 set for usb sticks this leaves only 400 chips left.

these boards are 18 chips so we are not at a quality point.

of course my numbers may be wrong on chips.

Ok got it.

This stuff is not for mass production.  Angry

I am thinking sidehack is looking forward to a second set of chips maybe BM1386 for the new s-7  not sure.

This r-box is more like  a practice step.  Have to wait and see.
36509  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: July 09, 2015, 12:40:22 PM
Hey sidehack with all the last post, Im a little bit lost  Tongue

What is the road plan?

You will produce stick and S1 upgrade or you change your mind ?

stick ------practice r-box board with BM1384 chips --------- S-1/S-3  with newer chips then BM1384

I think the above is the newer plan.

But also not completely sure.

36511  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GloFo tests 7nm. We prolly shall see miners on this node next year. on: July 09, 2015, 11:47:42 AM
It's no longer exclusively silicon transistors ay 7nm, its a Silicon Germanium x-istor..
http://www.theverge.com/2015/7/9/8919091/ibm-7nm-transistor-processor

maybe 2018 not 2016, but  If someone were to go right to this skipping over all the in between  sizes  we would get close to a .05 watt per gh chip
36512  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Raspberry PI 2 Model B with 3 Antminer U2 on: July 09, 2015, 10:41:55 AM
good I am good you got it up and running.

most often you need a decent hub.
36513  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5: Not mining on: July 09, 2015, 10:37:01 AM
There are two steps you should do:

1) set freq to 100MHz and see if both boards are hashing even with poor PSU it should hash.

2) if not hashing, one or both hash boards are damaged.

In case of one boards is damaged, S5 firmware has a bug which will cause complete miner to freeze in few minutes. If you find which board is damaged, you have to unplug it to make S5 work with one blade only.

this most likely not the case of the op.

those psu's max at about 300 watts each

his gear pulls about 600 watts.

so he is exactly at the max of that psu.

his freq setting of 350 is too high

freq 275 should fix his issue.

@ op I have quite a few quality psu's sitting idle let me know if you want one.

Yeah I am in for a few. I will make my own design with parts lying around and the 18 chip boards.  should be fun.
36517  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Block split - 25 - 12.5 on: July 09, 2015, 04:22:56 AM
I`m worried less on the halfing but more on the whole part with what im about to say.

"Bitcoin Core has no code in it to handle a permanent and growing transaction backlog. "

what happens when transactions are super slow as fuk, hence a ultimate incident way back when.

transaction fees will rise and block size will expand .  no other solution works.

transaction fees are the only way to kill off spam transactions.
36518  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New R-Box Upgrade Kit on: July 09, 2015, 03:10:39 AM
I have a lot of heatsinks

I used to build amps for musicians

and audiophiles

these are about 6 by 12

I can drill them to fit the chips and put two boards on it.
heck If I figure out where I put them i could use 1 per board.  would be quiet.

36519  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New R-Box Upgrade Kit on: July 09, 2015, 02:50:39 AM

Yes, it'd have a PCIe for power and a USB.

I think I can make some nice heat sinks match this very well.
