3661  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: sent btc to a wrong wallet address. is it lost? on: December 10, 2015, 03:55:36 AM
i am just new here because i got a big problem: i sent btc to a wrong wallet address.  Cry    actually the receiver gave me the wrong address and it was not my fault.

OP, have you considered the receiver may just be claiming he didn't get the coin?  To get you to send again?

He got super scammed, clearly. The "receiver" sent him a BTC address, then went "Oops it was the wrong one." *roll eyes*

Please, common.

I'm beginning to lose faith.  Most that were scammed would post who was person who sent wrong address, the transaction, the amount, so much info. OP has not really provided much yet.

Yes he's posted more but if he would take 10 minutes to type it out he would have so much better chance at help.  But when someone does not do what makes sense.... that's when i lose faith.
3662  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: December 10, 2015, 03:52:57 AM

Thats reaally a great Aount on faucets for 30 minutes. But if seen there is an bigger amount u could get so far. I could get like 30k in 10~15 mins.
You guys need any tips and tricks? Pm me Wink

lama-hunter

really Huh  Shocked 30k sat in 10-15minutes in faucet?
okey i will PM you i hope you can help me to earn more bitcoin today

Do you have any proof showing it?  From faucet or a BTC address that got it?

Normally it's pennies for hours of work.  So I would not suggest everyone to jump in trying to replicate
3663  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best trusted website to earn btc? on: December 10, 2015, 03:51:06 AM
Bitcointalk.org, obviously. You can give loans, join signature campaigns, or advertise your site.

Loans really are not the best investment.  It sadly is a problem with people defaulting.  It seems some have nothing to lose and are willing to scam.  So I would highly suggest avoiding loans unless collateral is given.

I would agree though this site is kinda the gold standard on trusted.  It has the most traffic by far. And is great place for almost all BTC information.
3664  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Nano - Stick Mining Fun! on: December 10, 2015, 03:46:11 AM
No, there are no special characters in the real login.
And yes, the second screen with the Tabs is the one that shows at the beginning of this thread.

Well, the whole thing is very confusing to me.
When I plug the miner into the USB Port the first thing that Pops up is a screen written in Chinese listing what I think is a list of connections.
Then a pretty big ICON shows up on my desktop looking somewhat like a key with a USB symbol the number 1 and then some chinese and the number 0.

Then when I click on the actual Avalon Miner shortcut : "E:\Bitcoin\bootstrap\nano\Avalon nano QuickStart\AvalonMiner.Qt4MSVC\AvalonMiner.Qt4MSVC\AvalonMiner.exe"

Up comes another box labeled as Avalon Miner with two tabs. One for Settins and one for Status. My pool connection shows up in the Settings Tab. But when I click on "Start Mining" the Title bar switches to green and says it's "Mining" but a look at the Avalon Log file shows this :

[2015-12-09 19:53:04] Failed to open Device Parameters registry key in lowl-vcom.c _vcom_devinfo_scan_windows__hubport():440: The system cannot find the file specified.
[2015-12-09 19:53:04] Do not have user privileges required to open \\.\COM3

I'm pretty much totally lost at this point.

REVISED : Problem was POWER
I had plugged the Stick into a USB Port that was underpowered. I moved the stick to plug directly into my powered hub and everything fired up as expected.

Thanks for update glad to hear you got it working.    Best of luck to you with your mining on it!
3665  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 10, 2015, 03:44:13 AM

Quoting so it shows picture as rank is not enough to do it currently.  Care to share more about your setup what PSU are you using?

Very nice speeds that you are getting.
3666  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 10, 2015, 03:42:43 AM
Any chance we can see your entire Winter and Summer Mining setup Notlist3D?  It might give us newbies some ideas

Summer is much more involved then winter to be honest.  I did not know if I could do summer or not.  I ended up doing it though so that felt like a accomplishment to say the least to have my own mining area.  You can read it here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1020826.0

Basically started with fan's ended up buying very powerful CFM fan's and regular fan's did not cut it.  I ended up needing a more commercial exhaust after that it worked very good but it was a challange to get it all running.

Winter is much simplier.  But this is all really for another thread Smiley.
3667  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: December 10, 2015, 03:33:42 AM
just a hobby rig in the basement.

Ant miner S1
Random USB ASICs I have collected
Klondike K16

Posting so it shows pictures as account is new who posted.  It should appear above this post.

And it worked Smiley.  Thanks for sharing your setup.
3668  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Total newbie post on: December 10, 2015, 03:31:00 AM
Thanks for all the answers/advice.
So, it seems the two big factors would be difficulty and BTC exchange rate. Given, of course that electricity prices don't change and the miners don't break.
I'm beginning to understand now why its called speculation, rather than just plain mining.
One more question: does the difficulty ever decrease?

Look at bottom of page - https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty .  It shows difficulty changes.

So can it happen... yes it can.  Right now with prices going higher and higher will it no.  We likely are in for some more high difficulty changes, but time will tell.
3669  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Setting up new diff thread Dec 6 to Dec 20 picks closed. on: December 10, 2015, 03:27:25 AM
Yesterday they sold 2279 BTC worth of miners.

https://blockchain.info/charts/received-per-day?timespan=30days&showDataPoints=false&daysAverageString=1&show_header=true&scale=0&address=1KwA4fS4uVuCNjCtMivE7m5ATbv93UZg8V

That is like at least 2PH/s worth in a single day. CRAZY! I am surprised they aren't sold out yet.

Makes you wonder, if they are selling this many S7s how many are they keeping for themselves?

If I were Bitmain I would sell every single one. Instant ROI with very little risk, no worries about halving or anything, and they can put all that money into the next gen hardware development.

And they can use the info they have learned from all the batches.  So they can make the best of the best for them self when they go to fill it up again.

So I agree lot's of good reasons to sell current stock of miners and replace.  And also they can do a even bigger batch and that brings down prices.  So it's pretty much all pro's besides a data center without miners in it temporary.
3670  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining profitability, total noob setting up first farm on: December 10, 2015, 03:25:31 AM
My goal is to generate at least one bitcoin per 24hrs, what kind of setup is required to achieve this?
Well there are 144*25 or 3600 bitcoins currently mined per day.  The network hash rate is currently close to 600,000 Terahash. So you would need 600,000/3600 or 170 Terahash to mine one bitcoin per day.

Say you use Bitmain S7 miners you would currently need 35 miners.  You will need to keep adding a couple of miners each week to keep up with the hash rate changes.

With current commercial miners this would require about 40,000 Watts.  This is a lot of power and heat. Its about the average power consumption of 30 to 40 houses.  Getting rid of the heat will be challenging.

It is not a cheap thing to do. Very expensive and NOT for someone just starting off as I'm assuming they do a lot of the setup to save money.  Pay someone to set up all the miners its going to add up even more on price.

OP what is your budget?  What are you planning as I think you see 1 BTC per day is a huge undertaking, and also with difficulty it would lower aswell.
3671  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: sent btc to a wrong wallet address. is it lost? on: December 10, 2015, 12:26:58 AM
Where was this deal or transaction made? I'm assuming it was not on the forum here otherwise we would have seen you post their profile name by now.

localbitcoins.. but well.. what does it help to talk about that. i just feel like shit now... and very disappointed.

thank you guys for all your help!

Ok you posted address.  Who was person who gave you wrong address?  Do you know who own's wrong address?

Those are two important questions.  You keep giving part of info.  If you have time to do a good post with all info it will be a lot better.
3672  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining profitability, total noob setting up first farm on: December 10, 2015, 12:20:57 AM
I have always been interested in getting into mining, but am struggling to come across explicit and jargon free information on how much money i can make daily per TH. Issues of electricity costs etc are of no concern to me as im able to generate electricity practically at no cost

My goal is to generate at least one bitcoin per 24hrs, what kind of setup is required to achieve this?

1 bitcoin per day is pretty unrealistic as far as just starting.  Your talking about a decent hobby mining operation there.... not starter operation.

You can use this to see different senarios: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator .  It's the best as far as difficulty  in my opinion being able to tweak that on ROI adjustment's.

What type of budget are we talking about?  Do you have a room just for mining?  What is your electrical like (need lots of details here).  I think you will end up with something much less then 1 BTC a day.
3673  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: B-Eleven sha-256 ASIC miner on: December 10, 2015, 12:17:36 AM
I personally think they have these miners for testing atm, and will reach their anticipated in house launch date of Jan 1, 2016.  I am pretty excited for the B12 offering they have once it goes live, and think if they in fact do produce this hardware miner for the public it will be competitively priced.

Quote
“The miners are now available for pre-order at a price of 0.87 BTC with a minimum order of 333 miners which is 1 petahash,” Virgilio Lizardo Jr., Head of International at Bitbank told Bitcoin Magazine in an exclusive interview. “This price will be available until November 11, 2015. This winter, the miners will be available with no minimum order required; the price at this time has not been decided yet.”
I am interpreting the 0.87BTC as being per TH and was for "Large Orders", with no indication of what a one off order might be?. However that article was back in October when BTC was about $260 so that could be good news?  Smiley
Rich

This is a little worrying to me as far as getting our hands on them since it appears they may only want to produce large quantity orders.  If they do in fact offer some 10 MOQ orders I will def be interested with their prices speculatively looking pretty attractive with bitcoin now at $420 and climbing.

A lot is still in the air with this miner.  They pre-sold a LOT of gear they will do their own cloud.  That no doubt will be first to go up.

From there it will open up to public I think.   But we still don't know size, price, etc.  We have not even seen a prototype.  So there are to many unknowns to really do any good guesses.
3674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 100% Newbie on: December 09, 2015, 11:29:45 PM
You can check what is the most profitable to mine in here:
http://www.coinwarz.com/

I would suggest if new staying with BTC.  It is easiest to mine arguably and is pretty user friendly depending on miner.  But some are very easy to use.

Also coinwarz is good for current BTC, but future it is not as no difficulty.   Use one such as: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator to get difficulty and better for long term calculating on btc mining.
3675  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: sent btc to a wrong wallet address. is it lost? on: December 09, 2015, 11:22:14 PM
I would assume that it is lost unless you know who owned the address and that he is willing to give it back to you.

It's not your fault. Let the guy who gave you the wrong address take the losses. Tell him to refund you. He should have figured it out himself which address is the right one and which is the false one.

i also said so but the guy refuses to refund the btc to me (actually it is not that big amount but for me it was all i had). and i dont understand why i should take the loss. makes me feel so down and desperate  Cry

Can you post more such as address sent from and to?  Who did you send it to?  Also who is " receiver" with him sending wrong address he should really take the hit and not you. If you post more about him/her you have again better luck.

So hope your luck gets better but I would not hold breath on getting it sent back.
3676  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary one day? on: December 09, 2015, 11:18:16 PM
A thanks to everyone who congratulated me.  Everyone has been very nice about hitting it.

Good luck to all those still left waiting.  The randomness really does make this hard to pick out when it ill happen.  They did a great job on being random.

Congratulations notlist3d for being legendary you were the second on the list by the probability but it is really random who will be the first legendary, seems that there is no difference in your signature campaign rate as i checked now.

No it is same there for hero/legendary.  So no real gain for me financially.

It is more just fun to see it there.   Ranking does have some good benefits when it comes to selling and trust.  But feedback plays a big factor.  That is likely biggest advantage I see is what ever I sell they see legendary might let them feel a little safer.

I will keep watching this thread as I find it interesting seeing that it truly is so random.  They did a good job at making it where you really don't know.  Thank you shorena for keeping up list's and updating them!
3677  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: AntMiner u3 stop working after a few hours on: December 09, 2015, 11:12:16 PM
Hey,

no chance, i send back the miner to the seller. he send me a new one he has testet before.
now it looks fine Wink

best regards
paD

He can send you another but they all zombie out with U3's.  It's just a fact.   Granted some do it more then other's and some argue linux less then windows.

But I can guarantee the one he sends you will zombie out at some point after mining... and it will do it over and over.  This is why automation is so important with these.
3678  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: can i make a profit with 50 ghs asic and no electricity bill? on: December 09, 2015, 11:10:02 PM
what is your recommended asic for a new miner? around $60 - $65 if possible

Phils idea of S1 is not bad depending on price you get it at.  Honestly your price range makes it tough.

Have you heard of "lotto" mining or solo mining with little gear?  Most of the miners in your price range will fall into this category.

Its not enough for a S3, so the only option really is 2x S1 here. Maybe it could be done, 65$ including shipping. But OP would still need to get a PSU.

The 2x S1 could do something like anywhere from 160gh with 150w~ to 400gh with 800w~~

Price seems to have moved up with BTC value going up.  So good for ones owning rigs now bad for those wanting old right.

Look over at ebay S1's are going for a little more.  It seems crazy but it's like 60 bucks for 1 including shipping... which seems high.  But everyone can check ebay buy it nows have risen.
3679  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best Gh to Watt Miner? on: December 09, 2015, 11:05:48 PM
Best GH/Watt ratio is currently the Spondoolies SP50 (assuming they're actually making them), but you have to be a BIG MINE to even have a chance of buying those.

Antminer S7 is next best and pretty close.
 Then the Avalon 6.

Then it's a LONG drop to the SP20 and S5 class gear.

The Lketc/BW.com B-Eleven should be in the same ballpark to a hair better vs. the S7 when it is released, probably in the next month or two.

Innosilicon has been talking some interesting numbers about their upcomming A3 chip, with an A3-based miner due out per their most recent talk about it probably in mid-Febuary timeframe.

There is no telling what KnC or BitFury have available right now, unless you're a MEGAfarm owner, they have announced some interesting numbers but nobody has hard data on actual performance or cost or availability on their stuff that is talking about it.

NOTHING in the under-200GH/s range is efficient by current standards except for Sidehack's "Compaq" stick - the next closest was probably the Rockbox but it didn't even match S5 efficiency IIRC, and S5 efficiency right now is getting to the point it's marginal for ANY profitability unless your electric is below-average on cost.
The Compaq is a little better than the S5 if you undervolt it, but it's kinda pricy per GH like any stick miner has been.

Which is clearly out of OP's range.

The closest would be a underclocked undervolted S1 at 0.9W/GH for about 80-90 GHs. The thing would probably not need any sort of fan.

OP really want's something that does not exist.  The 50-60 GW range is small.  Some had brought up S1 but I have a feeling that and PSU is out of budget he mentioned.

We cannot make gear appear.  So there is no way to really get OP what he want's.  At this day and age ROI'ing in 50-60 GH range is pretty unrealistic.
3680  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: December 09, 2015, 10:11:03 PM
Figured I'd post this here for people who don't follow the S7 thread.

Decided to "make a thing" to power my S7s Grin. Hope some of you will appreciate this!

2X 2000w server PSUs sharing the load of the 3 S7s. Will shortly be replacing the PSUs with the 2500w versions since I'm actually pulling 4400w DC from them right now, which is 200w over their rating on each.

I've adjusted the voltage output to 12.6v on the PSUs.

Wow, looks homemade but effective. Very impressive! Do those fans do enough to cool those machines or you need extra fans?

I agree it's very impressive.  You no doubt put together a nice PSU for a decent price.  I like the look aswell.

Eventhough I like the look those exposed bars scare the heck out of me.  That is a lot of power running though there.
