There is absolutely zero retail demand for "Ripple".  No random joes off the street are opening Coinbase accounts to buy Ripple.
I see you can be right too at times. It's a good sign. Happy 2018!

im gonna laugh if coinbase adds it to the mix overnight with no warning like it did with
that btrash pump fiasco

3663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 29, 2017, 10:17:21 PM

I can live with sideways. Not sure what kind of memes we can make of that. But I'm willing to try.

oh yeah , Sideways... that was a pretty good flick....

how did i guess that meme would be posted? i must be psychic....

I could care less about time in prison.  I'm more interested in restitution.  I would bet the sentence is short and weak.

And you think the restitution would be any stronger?

....and I think we all know the answer to that and its damn depressing.

Well I see the Byteball thread is now doing the post count, price parity thing.
I know... useless fact, just thought I'd throw it out there for a shiggle.....

Hmm, would it be that time again when I already called for a (self) moderated topic?

not exactly sure what you are insinuating there but
if you mean please abstain from posting useless fun facts on the thread
I certainly will and my humble apologies...
if not, well nm....

Very interesting CNBC conversation around Bitcoin and hedge funds.

https://www.cnbc.com/video/2017/12/26/hedge-funds-want-in-on-the-bitcoin-action-heres-why.html

Yep...

Holy moley!!!

This guy has a very conservative presentation of the bitcoin situation, and even how bitcoin might fit into traditional financial thinking - but if you really consider what he is saying, it seems that bitcoin has to do another 5x - 10x before it is going to begin to be treated seriously by traditional investment circles.

It's getting more and more publicity each day. All that publicity will get more and more newcomers investing in bitcoin every day.

There were almost a hundred thousand new members registered on bitcointalk in November this year. During November last year it was closer to ten thousand new members registered. When it's a million new members a month bitcoin will be going mainstream.

hahahahaha..

That is funny.   Cheesy

Imagine, the registration of 20k trolls out of the 100k new members in November 2017; however, when we reach a million members registered in a month, the trolls will have to work harder on a percentage basis, and perhaps, there will be 50k trolls, yet we know that trolls are louder than regular peeps, they are smarter too, and they don't scare off easily.. .Those fucks.   Angry Angry   but the trend is against the fuckjob trolls.... sorry lillie trolls, you are in a losing battle, ultimately....  Cry Cry  But you can still come over to the enlightened side and buy ur selfies a bit of bitcoin, because even today's prices are going to seem cheap when the monthly registrations reach 1million per month...  Kiss

So every time someone says  "trolls" on this thread i hafta drink...damn! . jjg just made me run outta boos!
3669  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 29, 2017, 05:02:04 AM

Lol ..jsyk.... weed.....  Consuming that shit now makes me paranoid in my old age.
I used to be able to smoke a doobie and party hearty back in the day.
It just got to damn potent for my taste. Probably a blessing in disguise mind you....
Now its just old fashioned martinis and beer that light me up ... i know ...boring.....
3670  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 29, 2017, 04:39:13 AM
The poll is bullish as fark. Who here really thinks we're going to see $20k in three days? Tera?

Screw 20K we need it to .....

Frikkin spare me.... (no offence btw ...im just lit up tonite)

Haha, now this is choice.
http://www.businessinsider.com/ethereum-founder-threatens-to-leave-if-the-crypto-community-doesnt-grow-up-2017-12

Vitalik Buterin goes on a rant pointing out all that is currently wrong with the crypto world, as well as admitting what goals Ethereum and other cryptos haven't yet accomplished.

But then he threatens to leave the Ethereum project because of it. Which inadvertently highlights another fallacy: how important he supposedly believes he is to the Ethereum project, or that a decentralized cryptocurrency should have ever had a CEO/Lead creator/developer in the first place.  Tongue  Roll Eyes

Also, it's pretty ironic that the MSM want to use the analogy of Beanie Babies when referring to Bitcoin. But the CryptoKitties dapp is literally a digital version of Beanie Babies reincarnate. But of course they don't say shit about that.

He wants the Crypto community to grow up whilst he posts a pic of himself in which he looks about 12 years old?

... Whilst threatening to rage quit as a crying child would do because of trolls are being just trolls.

ETH is an exploding clown car. So now he cares? There isn't a worthwhile dApp now, and there wasn't even the hint of one when he created this mess. It has no use case. It never did. He should feel bad.

missing the boat and didnt buy ETH at sub 10 $?  Cry

I saw that boat. I chose to stay in this one. No big woop.

Bet you saw the other now  20 or so  mega yachts too....like me....sux dont it?

I'm given to understand boat ownership is overrated. Fancy cars are kind of a pain in the ass too, if you ask me. Fix the lube, jiff the skip, hoist the crankshafts. Uff. Forget it.

Um...ok, but thats not what i meant...boats as in the eth mega yacht boat, yeah ? Wink
Shit nm...ive had too many ....lol

Sorry, your TXID doesn't exist  when I use accelerator.

How were your funds stolen?

Windows 10, I just did a fresh install a few days ago. I haven’t installed much other then btc, Ltd, ripple wallet. Not sure how I got a virus. It turned off windows defender and I only saw it detected a virus when I turned it back on. This is after I already noticed my coins moving on the blockchain. I don’t keep wallets on on my pc but I had them on for a min earlier today to move some coins.

That's what hardware wallets are for... to NEVER let your regular computer know your private keys not even for a brief second (which people with paperwallets will have to do when they decide to claim them).

Unfortunately that advice is of not much help for your recent incident now Sad

Um, read his latest post. Its all good man...

Then soak it in petrol and set it ablaze after you do the deed ...just to be sure ....

Don't forget the being naked while using it part.
Lmao.... seriously..!

Thanks, the computer will be offline  while I'm making the wallets, but it's not a computer that's offline usually.

Then don't do it. Buy some $50 refurbished piece of poo laptop from Ebay and take out the wifi card before doing anything with it.

Then soak it in petrol and set it ablaze after you do the deed ...just to be sure ....
3676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: December 29, 2017, 03:08:34 AM
    So, just for some clarity:

  • The primary dev/promoter has not logged into BTCT since October
  • The github repo has had no code commits/activity since October
  • There was considerable speculation this was just a scheme to pump SPR for bagholders
  • SPR hit ATH in... October just before split
  • Slack is no longer auto-inviting and there's been zero updates for two months

Going out on a limb here, but the speculation seems correct.
• WTF are you talking about? BTCT is not the name of the Helium repository. Just like any intelligent dev they do not post repository updates until it is live on the main net. No one in their right mind would make their intelectual property public before they can implement it.

    Quote
The 'official' repository at heliumpay is more or less empty as HLM is still weeks ahead of launch but if you are in dire need of GitHubs please feel welcome.

    • An ICO would be a better way to scam the community, an airdrop without a launch? Why wouldn't they just launch a Dash clone and make even more money?

    • Of course it hit ATH, because a superior project was born.

      • Bullshit, slack may be full but there have been plenty of updates. There was one just a few days ago.

Now that's what I needed to hear. Same for many people here who are becoming doubtful of the project.

But if that's the case, I would hope they'd drop a quick update to all their channels. I also wish they hadn't hunted at an imminent launch mid-november on twitter. That got a lot of our hopes up. Like others have said, needing more time is fine. Not dropping any updates on this main thread nor on Twitter with the only updates being on a closed Slack, doesn't help the FUD that many are spreading here.

And likewise, as others have said, this whole pre-launch marketing and whatnot could have been handled a lot better. I think there's a lot that can still be salvaged and not make this entire coin a massive dump on launch, but the team REALLY has to want it IMO. Simply showing that would go a long way.

HLM dead?

Can something be dead before it is born?

 Nailed it!
