3661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest issue with Bitcoin wallets? on: October 19, 2021, 06:05:29 AM
(multicoin/multi-asset wallets included)

I have a couple questions about (software) wallets that I'd like to have answers to, feel free to rant Wink

1. What are the features that you feel that are sorely missing?

2. What are your biggest issues with specific wallets you're using, or with BTC/cryptocurrency wallets as a whole?

3. What's your favourite wallet and why? Is it the user interface / user experience, colours, specific functionality, habit, perceived trustworthiness, something else?

4. What changes would you like to see with the wallet(s) that you're using?

1. The feature that are missing in most wallets are the safe option to "sweep" paper wallets.

2. The security features can easily be bypassed, if the 2FA can be exploited. (You first get the password with a key logger and then you get access to the phone or more experienced syndicates can just do a Sim swap.)

3. Electrum (It has a quick and easy "sweep" option.)

4. The miners fee should be highlighted in the Fiat value. ( I once paid $1000 in miners fee, when I did not take notice of the fiat value)

3662  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurs, money and investing - your culture on: October 18, 2021, 04:58:12 PM
I live in a country where entrepreneurship is encouraged, because the entrepreneurs are the people who are creating the job opportunities for more people and I live in a country with a high number of people that lost their jobs due to the Covid pandemic.

It is not about the individual, but rather what the individual can do for the group. The gap between the rich and the poor are growing bigger, because some countries do not encourage their people to think for themselves.  Angry

Ready to take on Eddie?

A new week of Stake vs Eddie is on!

Beat the multiplier to share in a $10,000 prizepool!

https://stake.com/promotions/promotion/stake-versus-eddie

Sheeesh Eddie has really rocked it with this challenge.... beating a Target Multiplier of 385.00x is really difficult with this Slot. I have now played it for 8 hours and the highest I could get it was 156x ....with a lot of smaller wins in between.  Wink

Let's say there are only 2 people that are able to beat Eddie's multiplier... will the $10 000 be divided into a $5000 prize for both of the people that beat his multiplier?

Also... if you bet the minimum of $0.10 on the bet and the value of Bitcoin drop... and the bet id shows.... $0.09 cents... will it still count?

3664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What problems face Bitcoin? on: October 18, 2021, 12:11:42 PM
Well, infrastructure will point to physical Internet infrastructure and the availability to access the Internet. The connectivity issues in 3rd world countries are huge ....with rural areas that might not even have electricity. So even if you place the needed hardware, people will still not be able to make transactions due to the lack of Internet access.

The way to address this, will have to be wifi hotspots in areas where commerce takes place... for them to access their Lightning Network wallets in close proximity to where they want to use their bitcoins.  Wink
3665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 18, 2021, 10:46:09 AM
I am currently betting on the WTA Moscow, Russia Women singles, but I am doing this eyes closed with a multi bet. Yastremska Dayana looks to be the favorite and also Begu Irina-Camelia ... but it will be a close one. Anyone know these two... because the odds are good on them. :->

I like to bet on Stake.com... because they are very fast with the verification and the payouts after you win. (Anyone betting large amounts there... because I want to know if this is just for the smaller bets?)  Huh
3666  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: October 18, 2021, 10:33:27 AM
One thing that happens with me .... I will bet an amount on manual bet and then it will work for a few bets and when the higher multiplier come.... and I cash out early at a high multiplier.. it will hang a bit and crash... without registering my "cashout" command.

I do not know if my connection to the server "time-out" when I do not respond for a longer period ...when it runs up a higher multiplier or if it is something else. (I sometime have to refresh the browser... because it looks as if it is losing the sync to the actual draw)  Roll Eyes
3667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ***BREAKING *** Bitcoin ETF is approved on: October 18, 2021, 05:38:16 AM
People should not be too optimistic about anything being approved by the SEC, because we know what happened with the previous applicants in the past. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/26/winklevoss-twins-bitcoin-etf-rejected-by-sec.html

There are always a big hype before these announcements and the market react positively and then the SEC come in and spoil the party. In any way, if it gets approved... the market will spike for a short while and it will drop back to $50 000+ and stabilize there.  Tongue
3668  Economy / Economics / Re: Is budgeting still effective in tackling the need to constantly withdraw money? on: October 17, 2021, 02:31:17 PM
I found that the more difficult I make it to "convert" my bitcoins to Fiat.... the less I want to do it. So the way I do it is the following. I divide my bitcoins into for example 0.1 btc chucks and then I transfer that to paper wallets. To get my hands on those coins... I first have to "sweep" the paper wallet and then transfer the coins to an exchange to get the Fiat currency.

If the coins was in my desktop or hardware wallet... it would simply mean that I had to transfer it to an exchange and then sell it for Fiat. The paper wallets are also more secure than the desktop and hardware wallets.  Wink
3669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Network Security and Weakness on: October 17, 2021, 10:54:20 AM
Ask yourself the exact same question .... What will happen to "Fiat" currencies ... when all those things happen?

In the event of some apocalyptic scenario.... when the Internet and electricity goes off... most ATM's and Bank networks will not be functioning and many people will have to resort to whatever cash that are left or they will have to barter with goods and services.

You have to remember one thing... Bitcoin is a decentralized network with full nodes all over the planet. So if a comet hits earth and some country are destroyed... then the Bitcoin network will still be running in other countries. (So the whole network will not go down.... )

People will also run Full nodes with Solar / Wind / Generators ..... etc... etc.  Wink
3670  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best Site for Gambling? on: October 17, 2021, 05:21:02 AM
There are several good sites out there, namely : Rollbit.com / Roobet.com / Fortunejack.com / Stake.com / Betcoin.ag /
Primedice / Bitcasino.io / Freebitco.in / Cryptogames.net / Duelbits.com <-- The One in my Signature.

The thing is..... everything will go well at these casinos... until there are strange activities on your account... then it will get flagged and investigated. (possibly banned if they find anything weird)  Cry
3671  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Watford FC Main Sponsor - UFC Official Betting Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: October 16, 2021, 08:34:35 PM
If hey have "so many more players" obviously they earn more money.

So why not employing more support workers? When its about improving the experience for their customers they dont give a damn.

They sponsor fighters, football teams and so on but not investing some money to improve this. Classic stake.

Thats why they overcharge on withdrawals also, pure greed.

Ok, you have to remember that more gamblers do not necessarily mean that they are making more money. Not all gamblers are highrollers... and this is evident in the increase in the amount of "beggars" that we see in the English chat.

It is also not just a question of increasing the "support" staff.... these people need to be trained to handle gamblers and high rollers and this takes time and lots of money.
3672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen to the price when all the bitcoins are mined? on: October 16, 2021, 01:49:33 PM
By the time that happens, all of us will be dead.... so we should not be worried about that. I seriously think people are making issues of things that will not affect them in any way.

The other thing is..... Bitcoin might not even be around by then, simply because it will be replaced by a much better technology. We already have thousands of Alt coins that are better than Bitcoin in some features.... so how many of the newer Alt coins will be much better... 10 or 20 years from now.  Roll Eyes
3673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin stands to gain when the government prints more currencies on: October 16, 2021, 06:47:59 AM
Well, if you consider Bitcoin (high risk) as a anti-inflation currency... then you might want to re-consider your investment. Bitcoin has a good store of value, but it is not guaranteed and you would be making a big mistake to invest all your money into Bitcoin.. in the hope that it will continuously beat inflation as an investment.

The long-term "dream" of all Bitcoin supporters is that the spike cycle will repeat it self over the next years... but when you have bitcoins in the recovery cycle... it goes down very hard and it does not beat inflation.  Tongue
3674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: have you ever play or won from a crypto exchange lottery? on: October 16, 2021, 06:06:41 AM
The thing is.... any Lottery has to have some verification system to determine and prove that the winners are drawn from a legitimate algorithm and not hand picked by the people hosting these Lotteries.

I have yet to see one Lottery system that has a "fool proof" system that verify the actual winners, apart from the one that are hosted by Freebitco.in

Most of these systems are used for cheap advertisements and people fall for this crap.  Roll Eyes

I have to say.... Alice Cooper and the Tomb of Madness was a breath of fresh air for me, because I have been on a bit of a losing streak lately and I got so into this Slot, because it was so much fun... and I won a good amount of money.. with the dancing man!

I was a fan of "Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness" before I played this Slot... so it was easy to fall for this one. The madness is real with this one, because it has a whole bunch of features... (high-paying symbols will be turned into one matching symbols / low-paying symbols will become high-paying symbols / it removes symbols from the reels and replaces them with wild symbols / Adds a wild to the reels and change other symbols into matching symbols.)

So boys and gals..... go out and chase the  ‘Hat of Madness’ !!!!

-snip-
Well, at least we have live support.

Rather than via email waiting only on business day and time, really sucks. Are you sure the reason why VIP Host change to Platinum 3 because lack of VIP Host, I don't think this is the reason.

I am not a 100% sure about this, but I think I watched one of Eddie's streaming sessions and he answered a question from someone on Twitch about this. The person was Gold and he was about to go to Platinum I and looking forward to having his/her own VIP host and then they changed it... just before he leveled up.

The answer was something in the line of.... "We (Stake) have seen a significant increase in the amount of people leveling to Platinum I and we (Stake) need to increase the VIP hosts to keep up with the increasing numbers of people leveling up."  Huh (The ratio for Platinum to VIP host has increased too much)
3677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After a few months of China crackdown on mining. Check it out! on: October 15, 2021, 07:20:21 AM
So from what I have heard.... Russia has invested a lot of money into Crypto currency mining and I believe a lot of the Chinese mining operations have relocated to USA and Canada?

I also believe that the zero mining operations in China might be wrong and that someone might still be mining on a very small scale, from their basement or mining Alt coins from their GPU's. (It will never just go to zero.... those stats are being manipulated)
3678  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Watford FC Main Sponsor - UFC Official Betting Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: October 14, 2021, 08:11:20 PM
Does anyone find the support service a bit slow to respond ? since Stake sponsored Watford  it seems stake users are increasing
We get slow response when we need support take at least 5 minutes to wait We believe there is a solution here to keep customers comfortable
Nope, I don't.

I guess depends on your day, in busy day the chat or player online in stake can be over 5,000-6.000 people. Comparing to support who online maybe around 10-15 is pretty low, and some support is sometimes needed several check for some case.

I understand the situation stake.com are experiencing a spike in users that's why I'm posting here so developers can find a solution
Stake.com keeps growing so there's no way to avoid it maybe involving a third party could be a solution

A casino and it's support grows with their userbase, as Stunna mentioned in one of his previous posts. They took away the VIP hosts for Platinum I and then recently for Platinum II ...because too many people reached those ranks and the hosts cannot handle all those VIP's.

#Stunna promised that this will change in the future and they will train more hosts for most of the VIP's in all the ranks. Let's hope this applies to the support too.... because we saw how Coinbase got a lot of flack... when they grew too quickly and their support started to suck.  Roll Eyes
3679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia took third place in the world in bitcoin mining on: October 14, 2021, 06:59:11 PM
Well, I would have never guessed that...... Russia have had a real "on" and "off" relationship with Bitcoin over the years... with the different sections in government contradicting each other.  Roll Eyes

Vladimir Putin (President of Russia) was very interested in the things that Vitalik Buterin (Canadian-Russian programmer) was doing with Ethereum.... so I guess it is not a big surprise.

3680  Economy / Economics / Re: Simple reason why crypto is preferred over fiats on: October 14, 2021, 11:59:13 AM
The real reason why people prefer to use Crypto currencies are not just because it is a decentralized "authority" ...but rather because it gives them the freedom to control their own wealth. A person have full control over their wealth, if they have full control over their private keys.

Crypto currencies also offer people some anonymity, so they will prefer Crypto over Fiat... because they do not want "unwanted" eyes on their private finances. (Why should a government employee have to know, what you are spending your money on?)

Bitcoin transactions are also much cheaper and faster, when you do international remittance. (Using the Bitcoin Lightning Network)  Wink
