3661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: November 20, 2017, 07:08:01 PM

This guy is asking the real question. They say "Visa deal is good to go" but there is no info on visa site. I'm an investor and this price is freaking me out. When it was on 10 dollars it was ok, but 5 dollars? WTF! I bought 17 MCO tokens when it was @16 dollars. So a little freaking out right now. They don't give us anything to hold onto. It has been 3 months but there have been no progress at all. In every way TENX looks more promising for now. I'm considering selling it at loss after empty 3 months. At least this way, my money wouldn't be locked up here.
Sorry to poop your party. But if you're buying anything during pumps and then get freaked out when the price dumps, you're not an investor. You're an impulsive and emotional gambler.

Be glad that you seemingly don't have any money to put into crypto, otherwise you'd be losing a fortune very quickly.

I suggest you take some time off to study the difference between trading and investing, pick one route and then study that before making any further rash decisions.

That's the joke.

This coin did not die?
Why would it die in the first place?

3665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH target 1000$ in ending of this year on: November 20, 2017, 06:50:36 PM
ETH is very good coin after BTC in history of cryptocurrency .i guess it will touch 1000$ in coming few months

This is way too high a prediction for Ethereum's price within this year. You are setting this target 4 months ago. Right now, the end is only a month shy. And looking at Ethereum's price right now, which is still a little more than $300, I could say with all certainty that it will not be able to accomplish a $1,000 price. Let us just try to cross our fingers and hope Ethereum will be reaching at least $400 to $500 within 2017.

This is not something that gonna be with time. When its time comes for pump, the price will move very rigorously and it can make 2x 3x within a short period of time. You'll see my point when the time comes up for this, as I said.
That is only right for the shitcoin, it is not an altcoin has high market cap like Ethereum. Even Bitcoin, you can see Bitcoin needs a mid term to increases its value as x2 x3, unlike shitcoin can does that within few days lol.
That's because of the high volume and liquidity. It's very difficult to move giants like Bitcoin and Ethereum, so Ethereum won't be reaching $1000 by the end of this year without a miracle.
3666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: November 20, 2017, 06:18:54 PM
It has been several months now. SONM price continues to gain 1 U.S. cent per month since July and that looks like stable increase to me. Stop looking at the BTC value cuz Bitcoin is in frenzied rally right now. The real value still continues to go up and under the radar of many traders.
I think it's still important to consider the BTC value, both for investors and for traders. After all, BTC will be your benchmark for your crypto portfolio. I wouldn't get too hung up about it, especially when investing. But you should at least know how you've performed against the most important benchmark so you can think of ways to improve yourself even further.

Don't really follow crypto over the weekend and we're still hitting ATHs. What happened to the real Bitcoin, BCash?

The great pretender? Oh, it's still there, adding a little extra value to the coins of those too lazy to dump it.

I'm too lazy to even fork my wallets for BCash.

Did all of you "To the moon" here noticed smart contract removal?

Did you notice why it was removed and how that is to our benefit and how they are working on implementing an alternative that works within legal boundaries to not be delisted and how Monaco already  increased cashback on all purchases from 0.75% up to 2%?

Yeah I don't think so. Otherwise you wouldn't be here trying to disinform people.

I dont have time to explain to you how naive you are, but in short, the removal of the smart contract means that Monaco is not legally responsible for anything associated with the "Monaco token".

Saying they did it to avoid de-listing from exchanges, is the magic excuse for them to decouple the token away from the company entirely.

Simple examples of random scenarios:

Monaco gets a 1 billion dollar investment from whoever -> Monaco token is not tied to the company in any legal way shape or form, so it wont benefit from anything like that.

Monaco sells more cards than they have "available tokens" -> Monaco token is not tied to the issuing of credit or debit or gift cards in any practical way. No company needs a "token" to be "held" to issue a card. Monaco can issue an infinite number of cards at will, without using the Monaco token in any way. There's no laws, nor are there any binding contracts (hello!) that says they must use Monaco tokens for anything going forward.

The actual "token" has no practical use, only an artificially made up one
-> It is not a "system" that does anything. The BIN from VISA is important, and is an actual "system" without which Monaco would not be able to function as a card issuer. The "token" system from Monaco is literally a useless guise to raise money without selling company shares. Its essentially like going on "Dragon's Den / Shark Tank" tv show and saying "I need 25 million dollars from you guys, and instead of company shares, i will give you these keychains that i may, or may not,  buy back (depending on demand), once people start buying my product"

The "token" is not a company share - Success for Monaco is great for company owners. Token holders are not company owners, and rely on the company, without any sort of regulation or binding contract, to somehow make them "rich" out of the goodness of their hearts and keep their promise (track record in regards to that is not very good at the moment)

Most investors are well aware of an attempted work around, but falling short of a legally binding contract that would expose them to government regulation (which it wont be, no matter what they come up with, because they're not stupid) the token is based on a faux system that has absolutely no use in the real world. (what other crypto cards require to artificially "hold" tokens to get a card? When's the last time you heard VISA ask you for $500 to "hold" for 6 months to give you a card?)

For even more fun, you need to realize that only specific current metal cards, not their basic (or future) Monaco cards, require holds on tokens, and the majority of people will have the cheapest one, requiring 50 tokens. Add to that the hold cycle of the tokens, add to it the total number of tokens including those not in circulation, and you'll see that unless they have an absolute constant number of hundreds of thousands of people signing up every few months, they'll never even get close to hitting the token cap, in order for you to have a high scarcity of said token.

People waiting for this to "moon" are delusional. Even current pricing of $6 USD is ridiculous for what it offers in return and how de-coupled from company success, it is, at the moment.

If Monaco comes out tomorrow and says they'll buy out the tokens at the IPO price, or not at all, while also having their un-needed ecosystem go dead, there's no legal recourse for you.

Also, if Monaco ever goes public with a legit IPO in the future, they'll completely have to get rid of any possibility (even perception of such a thing is damaging) of being legally exposed in any way, to a class of "non-investors", which means the death of the token.

Monaco is only good for day traders to sell on news, or for card holders, who legit want a metal card. If you're one of those "to the moon" people, you'll have a better chance buying a lottery ticket, as the token itself is not tied to company growth or success over the long term, and it also lives in an unnecessary ecosystem that only hinders Monaco as a company, going forward, growing from its infancy stage.

On a final note, I dont believe any of the changes were done maliciously, but, given the timing, delays, magnitude, and delivery of the news, it makes me believe that, either the people in charge dont know what they're doing and learning as they go along, or that they're very smart and pulled the proverbial rug from under non-ico holders, before they were legally tied into the token and under government regulation as a result.
Glad to see some more people stepping up to the game of shedding some light in this zombie-like "to the moon" darkness. Was starting to get a little lonely.

3672  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 15, 2017, 10:36:51 PM
This brings up an interesting tax thought:

If you sell your bitcoin cash for cash then you have to pay the difference between either 0 or the strike price as a profit. This is not unusual and makes sense.

However if you take your bitcoin cash and switch it into bitcoin again what happens? Technically when it split off it reduced the value of bitcoin by its value. Ok, fair enough. But if it had remained bitcoin and bitcoin went up more than bitcoin cash has isn't it technically a capital loss? Or if a gain only the differential between the bitcoin value at the time and now applied to any bitcoins sold after that time that may have been some of the bitcoin cash coins (assuming one is using LIFO, most people want to use FIFO for capital gains thus they would be screwed)?

These are the things I think about while the dryer is running with my pants in it.

Could you expand why most people want to use FIFO instead of LIFO?  I would think LIFO would give you the least amount of capital gains.
There usually are two tax rates. One for <12 month holds and one for >12 month holds. So if you're a holder you may find yourself in situations where you'd rather FIFO over LIFO.

I prefer FIFO myself because I pay no taxes on >12 month crypto holds at all, which makes it possibly to actually diversify into stocks without any cost involved other than losing out on some crypto profits in exchange for safety.

I voted for the $6,000 to $6,500   range which surprisingly is the least popular. I think by end-of-year Bitcoin will be above $8k, but this month is super bearish in my circles, rumblings of altcoins and other rumors erode confidence.
Rumbling of altcoins should amplify the upside of the Bitcoin market though. When people finally realize how shitty most altcoins are they will want to withdraw and move into Bitcoin or fiat.

That should actually make you happy.

This is a long thread for such a short period. Still, until the end there is no way to tell one way or another what is going to come of it all. I have seen worse put together projects that showed a huge improvement after launch and initially paid well to those that were in the first group.
It's easy to get long threads with alt accounts. So far all serious questions remain avoided and even ignored. Either way, the length of a thread is irrelevant, just look at DeepOnion which is spammed with useless posts and hardly any substantial information.

I don't know about you, but if it is true, I find it quite encouraging: https://cryptocurrencyinvesting.news/adam-back-bitcoin-block-size-increase-in-mid-term-is-possible/

Stick to Core's roadmap, a block size increase will come later if it's needed.

I just realised that my locked-in period finished just before peak and I could sell for $20+ a coin. Undecided i'm a  Gumb Duy.
People not understanding the lock-in period is what caused the pump as well as the quick dump straight afterwards. They realized that they still didn't have to lock in yet. Tongue

Let's see if there'll be any news regarding the asset contract in the Q4K tomorrow.
3678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why is bitcoin cash rising all of a sudden? is it killing original bitcoin? on: November 15, 2017, 12:39:13 AM
Cool
actually, I gain profits with BCH. I traded my BTC when BCH was at 0.05, and traded it back at 0.2!
I don't care who's will end up winning tbh, as long as I can get profit from it.
I hope my country can suppoert BCH or any other coins.
You should care.

If BCash wins, the whole world loses.

Take your grass roots efforts elsewhere, blockchain is blockchain, they all copy each other's code, all open source, whoever wins it  does not matter, as long as the whole space wins it's more money in my bank account.
You clearly don't understand what Bitcoin is and what it was created for. Not much of a surprise coming from somebody who only cares about his bank account though.

nice to hear that all token on the pre-sale is sold out which means that this project has really great progress, it make this project more promising.
The only thing an undersold ICO would mean would be an even larger ROI for the people who did invest.

And the worst thing that would happen would be a slower take-off. If you go through their Whitepaper and look at their worth ethics it should become pretty obvious that this project can only become a success.

They've also been in direct contact with the third largest political party in Germany, which is bound to be good news.

Hello,
I have joined to bounty campaign
Welcome! You've made a great decision.

longuest campaign yes, but the reward will not be very good at the end if there is too much people ...
More people = bigger ICO = more rewards.
3680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: November 14, 2017, 10:10:58 PM
Absolutely, this is an incredibly big deal that will help SONM achieve its true potential.

A few people made a few skeptical posts because of SONM activity in early days, looking at the activity of the team, their roadmap and the fact that they consitently deliver what they said they will I am confident that this project will moon in the coming years.

Proud to be a early bagholder of SONM. Anyone reading this in 2020 - you lost out big time Wink
Nope, early adopter myself. Doubt I'll read this exact post ever again though. Wink
