I don't know why you guys bother. Since I've started to use the ignore button, the forum has improved immensely. Smiley
Yeah, ignoring is cool and all but then if you're having a nice day and in the mood for some light entertainment, it's too bothersome to click on the 'show' or quote the user. Might as well see what wild thing they conjure up next time.
I have ignored a few users but for the most part, I can do without—it's fine just mentally ignoring them, even when they have long-ass quotes. Wink
3662  Other / Meta / Re: It's time for more "report to moderator" stats! on: February 11, 2018, 10:17:28 AM
"You have reported 329 posts with 91% accuracy".

I feel like I might be off/too strict with my models. I'm also wondering, though, if moderators investigate more deeply into the post (i.e. context) because sometimes I do mention that the statement has already been made earlier in the thread. (typical recycled post garbage).

I believe a lot more spam megathreads should be just cut off and deleted. I still see too many.
3663  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is anyone interested in playing Yahtzee or Backgammon for BTC? on: February 11, 2018, 08:26:40 AM
Yahtzee! and Backgammon are solved. Meaning, you can just send input into an engine and it will give you the correct move to make. If you're making the escrow make sure that there is no foul play (machine usage) then that's extra work for the escrow. Not to mention, you can simply decide to emulate decent moves and good/best moves sporadically... and the fact that playing the best move 98% of the time also doesn't mean you're cheating, per se.
It would be good to see this kind of thing happen—I'm personally a fan of both games—but I feel that it's just impossible.
3664  Other / Meta / Re: Rejoice! Actmyname is soon to be demoted on: February 11, 2018, 08:23:18 AM
Ah here comes another narcissistic nobleman trying to assert his superiority by pushing out these literary growing pains of mini-essays that nobody cares about. And while you are still at it, could you please give Lauda some private lessons in English punctuation 'cause I think his English textbook is not up to snuff and I am tired of reading his inappropriately used commas that tend to litter his nicely spaced out ramblings.

Thanks for your time and have a nice day, knobhead  Grin
Why quote the whole post and make a reply that is not even 10% the size of the quote block?
It's useless, unnecessary, wastes time, and is redundant. see what i did there? it's called a joke
And the random bolded n's are pointless. You didn't even bold the "not" in your second sentence so there's that inconsistency.
I quite like the size of nullius's replies. It makes me happy to see coherency across a large chunk of text that can flow twenty times better than the dialogue by account farmers and spammers.
3665  Other / Meta / Re: I reckon more warnings are necessary to protect newbies from ICOs on: February 11, 2018, 05:58:49 AM
How about Newbies can't post threads except for in Meta and beginners
Newbie jail should come back.

Let me add another board to that mix: Technical Support. Beginners & Help is too much for most people who hang around in the technical sections to deal with, so this would be a better compromise (for those that are just concerned about some problem in bitcoin).
Anything in Marketplace shouldn't matter. If a Newbie wants to sell something, then let them buy a Copper Membership. Wink

Not interested in pre-2015 statistics that are found on Google.
Thread will be locked immediately after a satisfactory reply has been found. All unnecessary comments will be deleted.

3669  Other / Meta / Re: Why is account selling allowed? on: February 09, 2018, 05:18:20 PM
I think he meant getting an account with higher rank. Otherwise he might be doing something silly like creating multiple accounts from his system one by one.
Perhaps I should have added [tone=sarcasm] as a prefix to my reply...

I thought it was obvious. Wink
I greatly frown upon those that purchase accounts to get a higher rank. The only reason for doing that is to participate in bounties/signature campaigns straight-off and I don't think that should be the main reason that people go to Bitcointalk. Of course, I'll probably be called a hypocrite for wearing a signature myself—apparently, that makes my opinion completely invalid.
3670  Economy / Lending / Re: Gift me one merit on: February 09, 2018, 01:35:56 PM
There is nothing wrong with asking since there is no way to earn merit from the forum.
Are you daft?
3671  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: what's the full member account price? on: February 09, 2018, 01:33:34 PM
i am not trying to sell I am just wondering...
And you are wondering, specifically... why?

What would be the point of knowing if you weren't going to sell it? Wink
3672  Other / Meta / Re: Add a poll to an existing thread? on: February 09, 2018, 01:19:22 PM
I just did a basic test in the Marketplace section. In the bottom-right of the thread, you have the thread edit options. There should be an option called "add poll" to it. Once you do, a poll will be created at the top of the thread.
Lock please. /thread

disregard.
3674  Other / Meta / Re: Why is account selling allowed? on: February 09, 2018, 01:10:37 PM
people who buy account might want an instant way to own account since it is so difficult to make new account of bitcointalk forum.
Click on the register button. Try a username. If it's used, try to create one that would be unused on the forum. Fill in the password/email forms. Complete the captchas.

Create.
See, that wasn't so hard now, was it?
3675  Other / Meta / Re: Trust problem: Need help with forum administration on: February 09, 2018, 09:06:56 AM
IvanBerkut was removed from my account and was acquitted and took off his red trust, why I still consider the Hypnosis account and do not remove the red trust. Could not you just do it right away?
actmyname nevertheless realized that Ivan is not my multi-account, but why Hypnosis did not immediately check, Admin can in fact help with this.
actmyname you thought that you made a mistake with one account, why you do not admit the possibility that you made a mistake with the second one. The situation is exactly the same, the mutual sending of merits. But after all, without self-interest, there was no evil intent in this. Please reconsider your decision, double-check again if it does not make it difficult for you.
You are HypNoSE. The reference was updated and so was the comment. IvanBerkut was ruled out due to lack of concrete (blockchain) evidence. However, in the case of you and your alt, it can be publicly seen that your Ethereum addresses were quite connected.

To the point where you see multiple token transfers between them and an additional Ethereum transaction.
Will you still deny the accusation?
3676  Other / Meta / Re: Why is account selling allowed? on: February 08, 2018, 06:33:45 PM
By the way, some guys who bought account for bounty may be OK and even start an interesting discussions.
Name one. And you do not need to buy an account to start "an interesting discussions". You can simply create one, even as a newbie.

At least they aren't a bots and can generate the content.
No content > Shitty content.
3677  Other / Meta / Re: Should the lowest merit spenders among us be known? on: February 07, 2018, 10:37:16 PM
You should deal with lowest merit spenders that have spent above 1 merit. Otherwise, you'll have to deal with a lot of inactive accounts, unless you decide to exclude them from the list.

do you guys think that your point is more interesting if you use lines in your posting.
What cracks me up is that you actually went ahead and made a line with underscores.

3680  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 07, 2018, 11:12:47 AM
I already saw merit selling on the internet...
Where? Feel free to report it. I do not think that merit sales or trades should be condoned. As I have stated in the past, it is equivalent to buying trust.
