The good thing is that they got Iggy at the tail end of his career, that's why he was able to play that well and become a finals MVP and if I'm not mistaken the win started the franchise to become what is is right now, dominating the league with Steph.

So just right for the Warriors organization recognizing what he did and yes he can mentor the young members, those who will follow the footsteps and continue their dominance.
They got him for cheap and yet he was the Finals MVP. I think that's worth every penny to sign him again like an appreciation gesture for doing a great job at both their offense and defense. He doesn't even need to play anymore just like how Dirk Nowitzki was guiding new players in the Mavs while he still has a contract.
I sure think this will be the last year of his career. I see him having a job somewhere in ESPN or TNT after this run.

I was thinking that he can get a job from either network as basketball analyst, but we will see after he really retires from active basketball. Or maybe become guest somewhere along the line and give his insights just like the rest of those retired players. At least he can get paid still.

And after the Warriors didn't sign him, he went to the Heat if I'm not mistaken. And then he comes back again, win another ring. He could have been their lucky charm.  Grin
3662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: September 24, 2022, 09:02:31 AM
As expected Shakur dominate the whole fight for a unanimous decision win
SCORES: 117-109, 117-109, 118-108 for Shakur Stevenson, Shakur is ready to move up in the lightweight division but I doubt he will have the same success as he did in this division, Haney, Garcia, and Loma are just too good, and he cannot match up the power and speed of these three, but anyway congratulation to Shakur.

He schooled Robson like he is an amateur hehe but that was expected but it's just interesting to see if he had the same performance had he decided to shred that excess 1.6 pounds because for sure it will have an effect on his performance.

Almost bet for Shakur by decision @1.6 (boosted) but my mind changed when he did not made the scale as i thought he would knockout Robson since he would be bigger by fight time but i'm wrong, playing safe all the time.

I'm not so sure if he could survive the like of Loma or Davis if he fight them right away, i think he needs few more tune up fights in the LW division before facing either champion.

Nevertheless congrats to Shakur for the win in front of his hometown.

Yes, mate it was a dominating win by Shakur, but he can't knockout Robson, although he score a body shot knock down. This version of him might not be enough for elite of 135 lbs. So yes, he will need to have a tune up fight first and see and feel the power of a true lightweight.

I'm thinking that Davis and Loma might just toy with him and he will be pot shot by Loma all day long. While Davis might be looking for a knock out if they fight.

3664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Go home with a profit and come back to end up losing a lot. on: September 24, 2022, 07:13:25 AM
Lol, this has happened to me several times already. But I had a good run though, it's like 3 successive days that I'm winning so I keep coming back. But in the 4th day, it wasn't like the other days. I ended up losing all my previous days winning and then some of my capital. Was so mad, but that's gambling, I have to take some days off or even a month if I can remember. It took me a long time just to get over incident as a gambler.  Smiley
3665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 23, 2022, 11:59:16 PM
Wolves might have improved but they aren't the only team in the league who improved so much in the recent season, and they should acquire more experience to be able to reach at least Conference Finals.

Exactly! they might be improved this upcoming season but they are not alone who's doing the improvements

Maybe we will see them competing in the playoffs, but the west side are full of superb teams, a lot of competitive lineups that
are around, especially the defending champ. They are still in the upper hand with the same core that they've got and those
young rookies who are also adopting the same system, they are keeping on improving while other teams are trying to build
chemistries, GSW are just keep on improving their system.

To many teams upgrade their line up so we cannot say immediately that they became a title contender already since many teams create good movements so that they can compete with existing champion next season. I'm still impressed how GSW do to their team because they value to much their rooster and enhance the chemistry on their team. Maybe other should follow this action since chemistry is vital to team the success.

GSW has a holistic approach to their organizations, they kept their pieces together, Steph, Klay and Draymond. And then move around players until they find a perfect fit, Poole and Wiggins, getting role players and then drafting players that are under the radar.

So this is what a blueprint of a franchise is, and this is no secret, from the Bulls, to the Lakers to San Antonio this is what they are going so teams should emulate it. But I guess it's difficult to find the perfect player for a franchise specially in this era as they keep moving from one team to another.
3666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 23, 2022, 11:41:36 PM
I think I like the idea though of the winner getting the bigger slice on the rematch. And I think it will favor Crawford to some extend, yes he will be getting like 40%, like what we have been saying. But if he won the first fight and the rematch clause was automatically activated, then it will be the other way now. Crawford getting at least the 60% now, the biggest purse. Although again, if this for us is very easy to understand, then why not their legal counsel translate it in paper so that they can sign it right away.

Crawford for now is not caring about his slice. He just wanted to push the fight and will be after that whole thing after
the first match takes place. If he wins, then expect a much better slice and much bigger demands.

It will be great for the boxing community once the final date for the upcoming fight will be announced as it's really
been waited a long time ago.

The delays are keeping the fans hanging in the air, still waiting for any result of the negotiations coming from both
camps.

I also believe that, Crawford knows that Spence will always ask for a bigger slice, and Crawford is okay with that as long as the share is reasonable. One big win here will make him at the top, so it will be him dictating the terms on their next fight, Crawford has to prove that he is better than Spence, end of the story.

And it you look at the noises from the background, from analyst and boxers, they favor Crawford to win in this fight, or at least 60% believed that. But it doesn't mean he will be the A-side, Spence believed he is the best welterweight because he has fought the best against Crawford resume. And Bud knows that, and so they are ironing out about the rematch clause that will give the winner the biggest purse in their rematch. And this is going to be worth for Crawford if he wins the first fight.
3667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: September 23, 2022, 11:16:11 PM
^^ Right, so even if Lopez moves up to 140 already, we have someone trying to get into the picture and put his name around those established boxers in the lightweight.

So we will see how he will adjust to it, maybe he can challenge for the belt because guess what? Shakur is with Top Rank as well so it's a win win situation for him to get into this weight class ASAP because Haney is also on the same stable and so is Loma.

Great decision of a fighter, if he is not anymore comfortable in a lower weight, going up is always the solution. They have to face the champion and the good thing is they are not forcing their body, they are fighting to a weight class that they feel they can give their 100%. Salute to fighters who are honest and do not make an excuses if they lose.

Right, for some this is a surprising move by Shakur and his team, vacating the belt and doesn't want to make the limit at 130 lbs.

But in the long run, it will do good for him, he has 2 belts already at 130 and then can chase more at 135 when he is about to hit his prime. And then the belt will be easy for him because the champions will be his stable mate at Top Rank. So the fight can easily be made. Of course he can fight Davis, for all the glory and marbles, but for sure his adviser will say not to look for Davis yet, it will come. Might be better to fight those who have the belts at the new division that he will enter and if he get that, all fights that he wanted will happen because they are going to chase him as the champion.
3668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 23, 2022, 11:02:34 PM
Have you guys noticed that there's almost no crowd watching live games in the PBA now? Too bad since its rival MPBL is jam-packed every game as i noticed, if this will continue i think the PBA will be disbanded.

Isn't it normal that nobody watches the elimination games of PBA? It is only jam-packed during playoffs and when Ginebra is playing. That is why they are heavily favored by the commissioners because they pull the crowd.

I have not watched MPBL and how much they pull the crowd but if what you are saying is true, then MPBL can be the future of basketball in the Philippines. Lately, the complaints against how PBA is being run are getting more and more and louder and louder.

It will be a big disgrace for basketball fans to see the PBA disbanded, it's our pride that this is the first league in Asia. So it will be a shame that because the commissioner has failed to do everything in his power to keep it. But I think league owners will not let this thing happen.

I remember that there were also a rival league in the early 2000's (I forgot what's it called then), it try to challenge the PBA but it didn't have enough backing up from the fans.

For  those who are interested on the PPV numbers regarding Canelo vs GGG fight.

Quote
As Saul “Canelo” Alvarez ultimately outboxed Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin this past weekend to bring one of the most compelling rivalries in sport to an end, DAZN Group has confirmed the Canelo vs. GGG III fight night saw a global audience in the millions, with more than 1.06 million buys generated worldwide including PPV and DAZN subscriptions.

https://www.dazn.com/en-US/news/boxing/dazn-confirms-106-million-buys-globally-for-canelo-vs-ggg-iii/tjfnmc91gd8a1vzv8gih4812q

What do you guys think of the numbers?

I was thinking that the numbers will go high as this is the last fight of their trilogy and I was predicting that US audience alone could be around this ball park number. But this is globally already, and if I'm not mistaken the 2nd fight generated 1.1 buys and the rematch 1.2 buys.

3671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: September 23, 2022, 10:06:49 PM
~
Indeed mate, these kinds of fights are risky to bet because we cannot take away the chance that both camps might have some agreements even before the fight was announced. We all know in the first place why Silva and Jake Paul have agreed to fight and that's because of the money, alone! What else? There's no bad blood between them or known rivalry, they've just surfaced suddenly because they know that their equation will give them millions. Their fight may be interesting to watch but this is not a pure professional fight even if it's considered as a pro-fight.
All sporting event takes place because money is involved, we are not living during the Rome colosseum tournaments where slaves were forced to fight Cheesy Tongue. If not for the money who in the right mind will participate in getting their face punched and you do not need bad blood and drama or a huge rivalry to set a match up. The prime audience who will purchase the PPV will be MMA fans who likes to see Anderson Silva back in boxing and the other set of fans who wants to see Jake Paul getting knocked out.

What is a pure professional fight  Cheesy.

I think this has been the case for almost all of the biggest sporting event including boxers, there are sponsors willing to pay the boxers and fighters for advertisement and then there are the networks and promoters.

So everything boils down as how much money they can generate, even if it is former UFC/boxers against a Youtube sensation. And yes, this could be stage and rigged so it's really up to those gamblers if they are willing to be "part of the plan".  Grin
3672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: September 23, 2022, 09:46:07 PM
It's interesting to know though that Robson could have gotten his full purse here if he refuses to fight Shakur because he is over the limit of 130 lbs. However, he decided to push with the fight and negotiate to get at least $50k more for Shakur not making the weight.

So it's good that he didn't take the easy route, easy money for him not taking the fight and then he will still have the chance as he is rated both number 2 by WBC and WBO, the belt being on the line here.

3673  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone buying right now because they think we are at or close to the bottom? on: September 23, 2022, 12:48:46 PM
Is there anyone buying right now because they think we probably will not go much lower and don't want to miss out at these low prices?

Smart investors are mostly buying in the range of $18k. It's as close to the lower lows we have seen this year ($17,500), so at $18k-$19k is a good buying point.

I am not talking about people who are averaging down or doing their weekly small bitcoin purchases, I am talking about people who are actually converting their cash into serious bitcoin holdings, or increasing their bitcoin holdings by a large amount.

As I have said, this might be the case, we are down like -60% from our all time high, so you can accumulate at this price buy in bulk and simply hold. There's nothing wrong with DCA though, I guess it's depends on how we wanted to purchase. But in the end, there is nothing wrong to buy at this price. You can also buy when the price hits $15k or even lower.
3674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A good news or a bad news on: September 23, 2022, 12:22:35 PM
I read online that A US court have ordered USDT owner Tether to disclose the reserves backing its stable coin, this is the largest Stable coin in crypto space presently and this doesn't sound like a good news to me, is this the great crypto collapse in play or I am just think way too much? This freaks me out.

All I can say is that Tether has been in this position already, and if I'm not mistaken, it was already 2018 wherein they have a court case and they yet continue to exists in the market. I'm not saying that they are running on fractional reserves, because that what everyone is suspecting. However, they have been in the market for a long time and so far there are no threat of collapse or something. And investors are still using them, despite so many competitors already, maybe they trust Tether or they just don't believed that the government has a case against them.
3675  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for September on: September 23, 2022, 10:42:42 AM
The end of September, of this ghost month, might not really be as horrifying as it seemed when the month just started. I guess September would just be another ordinary month following the equally bearish August. I think the price would still play around $20,000. Bitcoin wouldn't probably rally towards $25,000 but won't also fall too far toward $15,000. I think things would remain to fluctuate along the middle of both amounts.

True, if we look at the polls, $15k is what we thought that price will be this ghost month. But we did close to it, or not. $18k was the lowest, give or take. And then we have a good moment today, thanks to the news about XRP which has a trickle effect to the whole crypto market, bitcoin goes above $19k again.

But we still have a couple of days before we officially closes this month, so we might be around $19k-$20k and yes, it just could be the normal bear  months that we have been experiencing.
3676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Heavyweight Battle of Britain - FURY vs JOSHUA on: September 23, 2022, 10:19:26 AM
Coming from 2 big losses, yes Joshua's days are numbered, just one more fight that we have been demanded before, even prior to Fury making a comeback, and that is the fight between Wilder and Joshua. And if this fight is going to be made, and if by chance Joshua won, then maybe he can still fight and cash in.

Why his days will be numbered? He can always fight second rate fighters. Joshua has a big name in boxing, a lot of boxers will want to face him. Of course his rewards wont be as huge as they are now, but still. He will only loose popularity. Like Bronze Bomber aka Wilder. In 3 weeks he is having a fight against Robert Helenius and nobody on this forum gives much care about it Cheesy

Yeah, he can fight the Otto Walins and Andy Ruiz' of the division. But he will never be the same after his back to back lost to Usyk. He once was HW bankable star, but once he was exposed by Andy Ruiz, then chance is style, fought Usyk suffered a back to back lost, his stock is not the same as it used to be. And if by chance he lost to Fury, then goes after Wilder, and again in any case he lost that one they he will fight second rate fighters, of course, the money is there but it won't be as big as he was the top dog of the HW. So he is on a dangerous position right now, whether he take the bait from Fury's camp or not.
3677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch To Ban Gambling Streaming By October 18th. on: September 23, 2022, 09:23:28 AM
This means that Stakes.com, duelbits, Roobet, and Rollbit are not regulated in the U.S. so they are restricted to the U.S.

I'm also just wondering why they made the dice games different, after all that game is very simple, why not the Poker, blackjack, and baccarat games? I just ask this. Is it because the government has a greater benefit here? It's as if it's not clear what the real reason is for taking it down.
Actually, Stake.com might be restricted to US citizens as it has concerns regarding the regulation of US laws however there is another version of Stake that is only available to US Citizens which is at Stake.us. You can try and check out this thread about Stake.us and this is what the resolution made by Stake to allow users from US to continue gambling.

Also, I wonder if they'll allow Stake.us to continue streaming at Twitch since the main reason why they banned these websites or gambling platforms is mostly about conflict with US regulations. But still, whatever decision they'll make, these streamers can still continue streaming at another platform that is not against Gambling.

The way I interpret it, they prohibition is a blanket ban, so everything the relates to gambling specially crypto based casinos are going to be ban.

Now the question is how is this ban going to affect those mentioned gambling platform like Stake? I would say that it wouldn't put any dent though, I mean gamblers will continue to play on any platform regardless if they will be promoted by crypto influencer in Twitch. So it's going to be business as usual and they are going to continue to make money. The effect will be felt by those influencers because obviously how will they promote those sites if there are no streams sites to begin with.
3678  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Meron bang local owned crypto casino? on: September 23, 2022, 08:49:54 AM

At syempre regulations coming from our government na rin. Kaya mas maganda na maraming crypto based online casinos na nagagamit tayo, although yung iba restricted ang Pilipinas.

He is Liu Chuanxing, 7 foot 5 inches in height and he is there to make the life of June Mar miserable. Cheesy

I do not think June Mar can totally stop this guy alone if he decides to impose his dominance in the paint. June mar will need help from his teammates to be able to stop this guy. Luckily, basketball is a team sport so June Mar will not have to do it alone.

That would be a great matchup and for sure many fans are going too watch that when our very own Junemar Fajardo battles Liu Chuanxing. Offensively, Junemar will most likely struggle against this giant as we all know that he had problems operating inside the paint when his guard is taller than him, we have seen that when he is up against Slaughter but it is very interesting how he will adjust.

I do agree, it will be a big test for JunMar to play against the giant. Not just him to be fair though, every team will be a nightmare match up for this behemoth.

But we will see how good JunMar really is, if he can score at low post or battle him out in the boards. And if will just show how our locals will do because we haven't seen someone as big as Liu in our league.
3680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: September 23, 2022, 07:52:46 AM
I think AR/VR will never replace the real world. Check Meta’s stock price it is going down into toilet. People are simply not interested in this shit. I know I am not. Some people will try it out eventually but Zuck made a bug mistake with changing the corporate’s name in to Meta imo and we can see the effects on the price of the stock. Right not MeTa is the (or one of the) cheapest social media stock there is and it is being priced like it is going bankrupt. That should give you an idea .

You have a point but I guess what they are offering are alternative, so in the end, it's the people that are going to win here.

The question is, can decentralized (or close to it) services grow in China?
Not possible. I mean it's China, I don't think we have anything more to discuss there.

That is the big question, but we already knows that the Chinese government will not allow decentralization. Just like what they did in crypto, they allow it to flourish until such time that it grows big. And what they do is simply shut it down for good.
