Wow, you need to DYOR. Start at Coingecko.

Like that other behemoth of coin-aggregations, (Coin Market Cap), coingecko has become riddled with incomplete information, does not consider smaller than the market leaders' worth tabulating and is useful for quick glance summaries of a coins trends.  They don't respond to attempts by coins to reach out for corrections to be made, or, when they do state they aren't considering an Exchange's information to be useful.  Unfortunately, it's the best we've got at the moment.
3682  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] BPIP Extension User info add-on/extension for TOR (preferred) etc. on: August 27, 2020, 05:16:28 PM
The way I read suchmoon's post is that the official Firefox doesn't allow the extension anymore, but the Tor browser still allows it.

Yes. Tor Browser is based on an older version of Firefox (v68; the one the breaks extensions is v79) so it will likely support the extensions for some time until they decide to force an upgrade.

So far so good.  It's been interesting seeing the various exotic destinations that I've been logged in from.  Thanks for the suggestion.
3683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Casinos that accept ERC20s on: August 27, 2020, 09:48:26 AM
Several of you are presuming that the token has no liquidity, no use case, no demand, and the developer holds all of the supply. None of those apply to the token I am referring to. So far the only decent casino I have seen that is willing to integrate ERC20s is OreCoinGames. Are there any others?

Maybe the reason you can only name exactly one ERC20 token is for the very reasons you've given in your post as to why they aren't seen as even being worthy of being gambled away.

Casino's know a sucker when they see one, that's why people go to them, not the other way around.
3684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whale Sold at $12,000 After 2 Years HODLing on: August 27, 2020, 09:45:41 AM
I think the shock to many right now is that the price of Bitcoin has stopped rising, and for the last week has been in a slight downtrend. It's painfull to some to look at the daily pricechart and see that one has been losing money. Sometimes the best thing to do is to take a step back.

There' s a whole other set of investors that are looking for stability, so, for BitCoin the reach a reasonable price after it's Covid shock and awe fall is welcome news for advocates and investors alike.  (people able to buy just months ago will have at least doubled their funds should they look to cash out).
3685  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] BPIP Extension User info add-on/extension for TOR (preferred) etc., on: August 27, 2020, 09:41:17 AM
I just installed Tor under your suggestion @suchmoon only to find that it's a mozilla/firefox product.
The Tor browser is based on Firefox, but it's created by The Tor Project, Inc..

Quote
So, although the Tor Browser sounds interesting, why should I install a different version of mozilla/firefox if it won't accept an extension (BPIP) that isn't "recommended"?
The way I read suchmoon's post is that the official Firefox doesn't allow the extension anymore, but the Tor browser still allows it.

Hi and thanks for the clarification.  As I said, I've installed it and like anything new am trying it out.  If I shut the browser down and restart, my log-in site changes, so that's going to be useful.  Perhaps the Thread should be changed to read:

Code:
[BETA] BPIP Extension User info add-on/extension for TOR (preferred) Firefox, Chrome, et al

or above...
3686  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] BPIP Extension - user info add-on / extension for Firefox, Chrome, et al on: August 27, 2020, 08:39:20 AM
Warning for anyone using this extension (or any extension really) with mobile Firefox: Mozilla is rolling out an updated version of their browser that seems to allow only "recommended" extensions, which the BPIP extension isn't and probably won't ever be. So if this is important for you - might wanna hold off that Firefox update, or perhaps this is a good opportunity to switch to Tor Browser.

Well this is awkward:

(And yes, that really is a screen grab from a Tor Browser).

The only way I'd agree to go into BitCoin rehab is if I could pay for it with my bag of Crypto.

COIN TELEGRAPH:

Also, it is difficult to estimate how much of the 9,000 BTC the whale sold.

No one here can actually confirm the coins were sold, the only thing that is know for certain is that the coins were moved out of that wallet address, quite likely to multiple wallet addresses diversifying the value into more realistic sizes (and to also protect against theft losses)

3690  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: August 26, 2020, 07:47:13 AM
Just change the :
Code:
https://bpip.org/report.aspx?r=mostmerited
to:
Code:
https://bpip.org/report.aspx?r=earnedmerit
and it will be fine. I think there was an update, now I get also reward for the "Most earned merit" Smiley Well I lost 2 positions due to inactivity the last few months but.. still in top 25 Tongue

Most merited is not the same as earned merit - the link is contained in the first shield of the five shields on each users' page information.

Hopefully it's just a glitch during the fortnightly update. (have gone back from 39th to 37th with my last fortnight's posts, so about the same as before. Wink )

Are your house building works done yet?

Embattled Broncos coach Anthony Seibold has stepped down immediately to spend more time with family, saying they have made "enormous sacrifices" for him.
Key points:

    The 45-year-old coach ends contract immediately after 2018 hire
    It comes a fortnight after online trolls published rumours about his personal life
    Seibold said he will be going to the police with names

Seibold officially cut short his five-year contract this morning after approaching chairman Karl Morris about his intentions last week.

The outgoing coach addressed the media this morning, after an "emotional" meeting with players.

"I get judged with what happens on the field, I take responsibility for that," he said.

"I thought it was best for the Broncos and myself that we separate.

"The final straw was hopping on a plane back from Sydney when I wanted to be with my daughter.

3693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overview of lightning network nodes owned by forum users on: August 26, 2020, 04:57:58 AM
I started making a list you are welcome to either reference or copy which can be found over yonder: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5206115.msg53238766#msg53238766 (not just users' but other sites etc)

(and I didn't say it's a big list either)
3694  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is there a list of members of the forum (preferably trusted) with LN nodes? on: August 26, 2020, 04:52:45 AM
I'm wanting to open up a few connections with people so I can have more of a reach with my electrum wallet and can increase their reach while my wallet is online.

IS there a list or should we make one,  I'm considering whether to run my own node as well but all I'd be able to run it from safely is a pi with a pruned chain (and without a constant connection)...

I have an Eclair LN Wallet on my Android Device and a Zap LN Wallet on my PC.  The Zap wallet I leave open for days/weeks on end (PC restarts aside) while the Eclair LN wallet is open every few days either to see the balance or add fresh funds I am receiving from the Signature Campaign I am in.

Neither wallet shows up on 1ml.com nore do the channels I have opened on either platform.  I figure because of the mobile phone's regular on/off I don't have a static enought IP and the same is probably true for the PC on Broadband.

If people want to PM me their node address (such as the one below) I'd be happy to add you to my list which I am rebuilding after I uninstalled an earlier Eclair LN on my phone.

You can always open one to me:

Code:
03400a67375da5d5d04dd59514452ce9f0cadb2fbec65863073897d52843b61c80@whacker.cas8.com:9735

Thinking about it; someone should probably start a thread where everyone here can post their LN info for other people here to open channels to.
Kind of keeping it in the family.

-Dave

@philipma1957 I've only just come across this thread and am sorry to hear about the recent power/storm issues in your area.  Can I suggest you look into investing in some solar/power packs from the GoalZero.com company?  I have some of their smaller products and recommend them over similar due to their use of USB or 6V connectors between products unlike other products that rely on copper wires you have to wind up or around.
3695  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of CRYPTO GAMBLING & BETTING SITES with Investment. on: August 25, 2020, 04:59:21 PM
I always like seeing dot points for lists.  If you copy this code you can have a nice looking list:

Code:

[list type=square]
[li][url=link]yolodice.com[/url] - <Information here>[/li]
[li][url=link]Mintdice[/url] - <Information here>[/li]
[li][url=link]Bitvest[/url] - <Information here>[/li]
[li][url=link]Bustabit[/url] - <Information here>[/li]
[li][url=link]Bustadice[/url] - <Information here>[/li]
[li][/li]
[/list]

If you go the other way and use tables they take a little bit longer to compose but can also look quite nice.

The OP needs to fix up this line in their post as the URL comes up as broken when I tried to visit it.

Wow,,, yesterday, I got a red trust from e-gosha saying I work for you guys (sportsbet) and in my whole life I have never even done anything with you guys, is there a reason I have been involved in all this?

There I was minding my own business and I got a red tag. Am I going to get accused of red trust for every casino thread that I participate in? I think accounts should be penalized on this forum for just abusing the trust system,,, how annoying Sad

You're all good to go @leea-1334 as others have pointed out user @gosha@e-coin is most likely on a downward spiral like game-protect (more than likely IS game-protect) and others wanting to crash and burn and take out as many as they can on the way down.

Your trust feed-back score is

while gosha@e-coin is down to:

You're always going to have the nay-Sayers trying to steer you clear of any site (regardless of whether or not they themselves have actually played there is irrelevant to them)  Given the age of the thread and the small number of posts it's probably safe to say that the Casino hasn't really fired up the imaginations of many people here.
