3681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: They found Satoshi on: April 09, 2017, 10:02:38 AM
Also John Nash has already been considered as Satoshi Nakomoto before and it has been debunked many times over the years.

My evidence is new and very solid. Please stop your FUD.

no it isn't you are just tossing around random conjecture that you think are worth something based on connections that you do on purpose to make your argument sound more legit, when it's not legit at all, please stop this thing about satoshi, i don't think anyone care who was satoshi anymore, satoshi himself don't want to be the leader and i respect his decision to be anonymous
3682  Economy / Gambling / Re: eSport BTC betting site? on: April 08, 2017, 04:30:32 PM
If you love Esports you should try NitrogenSports.eu I had experience their service and the convenient transaction that there are no fail in it, and actually there are many games in it that you can choose to bet on and in every tournament of league of legends, DOTA 2 register and see for your self, Good luck.

they have starcraft 2 or starcraft broodwar also? i'm looking for something with these game, or maybe doom or other new fps, not always dota and LoL, getting boring after a while to bet only with those two games
brb i had a quick look and they support all the big starcraft 2 tournement, but the betting is fixed to a win of only 50% of what you risk, not sure if i would like this, and no doom sadly
3683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC round 2 begins? on: April 08, 2017, 04:26:08 PM
try to remember that litecoin was worth 0.05 back in the past, going 200% now is not that fabulous, would only be a good price correction, litecoin was very undervalued for many months when ethereum and dash took the throne, you have now that those two coins are dumped and money move again to the next big train, which look like will be litecoin, i can see a 0.05 again like in the past better to buy now if you want a good profit
3684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin dies, what alt would you go for? on: April 08, 2017, 04:16:25 PM
Bitcoin would never die and many altcoins today are dependent only on bitcoins as their buyers/sellers are only active in the BTC field. I would choose ETH, DASH, EDG and DTB as of now as they have a great potential to reach 0.1-0.2 BTC if there are enough traders on exchanges and their starting value is much higher than what BTC was when it was just launched.

if bitcoin die, what would be the price of other alt in bitcoin? i think all the alt would lose value and die as well or becoming not that good as they are now, all the money are in bitcoin, which make all the other coins valuable, when bitcoin was going to fok with BU, the money were moving from bitcoin to dash and ETH, the strongest, this scenario can repeat itself every time bitcoin is in trouble, but it could also be that the money will move to something else, if bitcoin go down too much, like gold or stocks market
3685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Becoming rich owning all altcoins in 5 years? on: April 08, 2017, 04:13:09 PM
I think to become rich by holding altcoins is very unlikely to happen. As of now the only most reasonable cryptocurrency that can bring some fortune is certainly only bitcoin as of today. One possible but minute alt coin that has future can be Etheruem (ETH).

actually ether is always going to be one of those altcoins that will be good in short term and nothing else. you buy it low before the pump and just wait for the pump to reach its peek and then dump it to move on because history has proven that the price will go down in a slow fashion making everyone double think their decision to sell and end up keeping it and lose profit.

not sure man but $1000 invested in 1000 different alt, mean that you need at least one that reach 1000x or 10 that reach 100x or 100 that reach 10x, to me seems unlikely, one someone find a good alt that alt reach at best 10x and it happen one or two times per year, i think it's a bad strategy and he will lsoe money
3686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not creating BTU as altcoin ? on: April 08, 2017, 04:09:43 PM
Assuming miners are rational they will switch to the highest valued coin in the case of a fork, so the fork should not be sustained for long.
SegWit is the alt

SegWit has many radical changes.

BU just puts things back the way they were before 1MB limit.  BU is the same old bitcoin.

SegWit + LN is an entirely different 2-layer system.
SegWit is the alt

but if satoshi changed it to 1mb there must be a reason right? we should follow what satoshi did and remain with 1mb for now, until better proposal are accepted like segwit, going back to 32MB is not a solution dude, it would make bitcoin suffer ddos and spam attack, because bitcoin don't need 32MB of block, i'm looking more forward to extention block than segwit, i like that new idea just need more testing
3687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Ban on: April 08, 2017, 04:06:47 PM
What will cause a government to ban bitcoin in the country? In what circumstances will that be justified by the government?
And how can government actually ban bitcoin? I mean they can ban people selling or buying stuff with bitcoin in the country, can they actually ban people from holding bitcoin?

the government can ban bitcoin because they think bitcoin is making people avoiding tax, or making people use it for deepweeb CP, like in russia, or any other illegal things, but no government really banned bitcoin for now, ah well maybe bangladesh, but they can't ban people that use bitcoin, when they ban bitcoin they say, that if you use bitcoin they put you in jail, this scare people and make bitcoin less usable in that country
3688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin dies, what alt would you go for? on: April 08, 2017, 10:45:09 AM
i would go with the fork that would come if bitcoin die, basically bitcoin can't die, because if it die like you said, they make it an altcoin based on bitcoin, with new market and value and everything begin from zero again, but if this is not possible because there is no interest anymore and this is the only reason why an altcoin may die, i could go with HLM new spreadcoin project, i love that project look very promising to me
3689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: They found Satoshi on: April 08, 2017, 10:39:58 AM
NO evidence can be better than satoshi signing his address, if he can't anymore, there no way you can prove that john nash is satoshi, this https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2gzoxa/john_nash_is_satoshi_nakamoto/ all other way to say he is or he is not satoshi are pure speculation, and also satoshi stopped posting here in 2010, his last post was in 2010, that guy die in 2015, too much time between the last post and his death, i don't believe that he was satoshi
3690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Segwit for LTC really necessary? Why? on: April 08, 2017, 10:35:38 AM
I cannot think of a practical reason why Segwit needs to be activated in LTC if the coin itself does not attract enough users to make it necessary. What if it becomes activated but nobody uses it? What good is it if it is not really that necessary?

no i'm with you i can't think they need segwit, when they have the block time of 2.5 minutes, which everyone know that mean you have 4x the block size of bitcoin, but litecoin have no where near the same amount of tyransaction per day let alone 4x lol, are they , maybe pushing it to help bitcoin do the same decision? could be, there are plenty of manipulators here from all sides
3691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long? on: April 08, 2017, 10:33:50 AM
According to you, on average how long is the period of a long term investment in an altcoin?
Does it actually depend upon the coin or the margin of profit you're after?

it depend by many factorr some coins can be hold for a long time if you see the dev active and proposing new idea, other coins better to hold them for few weeks or one month and dump if nothing change, because i don't want to be a bagholder of shit coins, in the last category we have those coins that die quickly and is better to dump when they hit an exchange, it's a very risky and gamble world this one of crypto
3692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Launched: PiCoin [POS+POW] [SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN=AIRDROP] on: April 08, 2017, 10:30:42 AM
What is the OTC price now?

5000 satoshi at least, i'm not selling for lower than that, mining is bareli profitable with 4000 satoshi, so 5000 is a right threshold imho

Earning PI coin everyday with POS staking!  Really cool being part of a new crypocurrency.  Looking forward to a solid roadmap to get this party started.

yeah but pos is very low, 0.002 per day is nothing at all but maybe the value will be very high? who know
3693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ETH hit 0.100BTC? on: April 07, 2017, 03:57:44 PM
I bought some ETHs when it was 0.055btc but I forgot to sell it, now its playing between 0.038 to 0.42, what shall I do?

  • Sell the ETHs and face the 30% lose .
  • Wait for the ETH to reach 0.055 again?

Newbie trader here Sad

sell and buy cheaper is a good strategy now that you ahve this situation, if you wait 0.055 you need to wait also for higher price to sell right? very unlikely now, bitcoin is going up and all alt going down

Anybody see a head and shoulders on the 1D chart ?

yeah it look like it, and the price speak for itself, ethereum is going down and down, i can't see anymore any 0.1 like this thread was predicting, but still 0.04 is a very high respectable value for a coin that also have the biggest marketcap after bitcoin
3694  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think Bitcoin will reach $1500? on: April 07, 2017, 03:54:03 PM
i'm sure that when the debate will end about the block limit and scaling, bitcoin will go much higher and $1500 would look like a joke or new bottom, $2k and more is the value that will come if everything go well, no more bad news are coming right? well nothing can stop bitcoin now from growing, and check it, japan government already approved bitcoin as a legal currency, this is huge and will boost the value greatly
3695  Economy / Speculation / Re: My take on BU's long-term impact on the price of BTC on: April 07, 2017, 03:51:46 PM
I invested in bitcoin to get away from centralized banks, not to be controlled by it.

I don't want AXACoin, I want bitcoin.

A decentralized, P2P currency.

Bitcoin Core will turn it into a centralized settlement layer with 3rd parties.

Nothing of that is bitcoin.

i see your point mate, and LN and other shit are not bitcoin to me too, blockstream also it's centralized crap, what iw ant is that everything is done with bitcoin alone, not any other party, in the bitcoin discussion, there are other proposal to the block solution, which don't go away from decentralization too much, it's called extension blocks
3696  Economy / Economics / Re: Intrinsic value?? on: April 07, 2017, 03:44:19 PM
yes bitcoin has the value backed by the miners and their consumption, bitcoin has a minimum value which is equal to the consumption of miners i think, and the real value which is the one that a users is willing to give to it when buying, we can also say thta the blockchain have a value, because it's a new technology, and like anything revolutionary it hold a good value
3697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum - why buy coins? on: April 07, 2017, 03:40:24 PM
Is it as big as Bitcoin ?
not even close!

Quote
Should we buy some tokens ?
right now, no because it was recently pumped and now the price is in a bubble which means it will only go down from here with some small come backs (dead cat bounces). and you can see it already going down hard because it is getting dumped these days.

generally again no. because it is a manipulated coin, and the coin itself is centralized unlike general altcoins.

Looks like Ethereum can be mined as well.. what is the profitability like, has to be better than Bitcoin at this point, plus good to reuse all those miners hardware ?
mining ethereum was very profitable at first but i think it is nearing the end since the difficulty is higher now and price is not really as high as before.
and when it comes to mining you have to consider the electricity cost too.

Why would you say Ethereum is centralized ? Isn't it the same like Bitcoins, once you have ethers in your wallet you can send them to whoever you want ?

Is the ethereum supply capped to a maximum like bitcoin ? Or is it they just "mine" as much as they want.

From what I understand the Ether is supposed to be "fuel" like but is being traded at the moment like currency. I guess no harm in that. Since Microsoft etc have joined it, seems like it is here to stay, given its API innovation over Bitcoin.

ethereum is not centralized, but buterin dumped a big amount in the past and this make it like it seems centralized, because a single person holsding that much it's bad for the coin, and ethereum supply is like bitcoin, there is a limit but it's much higher, making it less rare, afaik only doge has infinite supply, all other coins can be mined until the reward end
3698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DASH crypto-son "SibCoin" is conquering Asia on: April 07, 2017, 03:37:39 PM
never heard of it before and by the sound of it don't seem to be worth much.

what killed this coins, back in around 6 months ago, was that the mining was private with more speed for some miners that had an optimized miners, now we have access tot hat speed, and this made the coin more recognizable imho, and also now this coin is on bittrex, in the past this coin was only on yobit, which is known to be a bad exchange already
3699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum - why buy coins? on: April 07, 2017, 10:31:59 AM
HI,

Is it as big as Bitcoin ? Should we buy some tokens ? Looks like Ethereum can be mined as well.. what is the profitability like, has to be better than Bitcoin at this point, plus good to reuse all those miners hardware ?

yeah profit of etheruem is better, one 480 rig can do 0.01 per day, which is very good, for instance the antminer s9 is crap in comparison and consumption is also very bad, it's always better to mine if you want to accumulate, because mining is profitable for now, the only bad thing is that with mining you generate in a slow way your coins with trading is faster but more risky
3700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to maintain consensus without the use of inflation? on: April 07, 2017, 10:29:33 AM
why you say that fee are not enough to pay for the pow network? fee is the final point of any pow network that don't have infinite supply like doge, doge could in theory get rid of fee, if they did not already, other standard coins need high fee, which can be made higher if the coins become big among the comunity, and accepted everywhere, and the only good example is bitcoin
there were some deflationary coins in the past but they didn't work good, because the first investors had more coins that the one that come late, and they dump everything on the new investors, same for miners, i don't like the first come first serve idea behind deflationary coins
