Its for reasons like this why I think in the future, every dice site will no long have any BTC faucets. They will probably instead just have a demo mode or play money mode to prevent this type of abuse and cheating from occuring.

It seems as bitcoin value grows there are more and more people who try and take advantage of it.

well both of these have pros and cons of their own.

1) faucet is good because it gives you real money not fake or anything. and you can experience things in reality. and also it has the benefit of making some money from it. for example in a provably fair Dice site you can make a 9900x bet and get lucky and win a big amount (I think something around 0.02BTC). and also you can try out strategies with small amount. with faucet many will want to deposit more to try out a bigger bankroll.

2) demo mode is good because it can give you a big amount without the site worrying about abuse, and also it can be big enough to give the experience of a real game with real bigger amount. lets say 0.5BTC for example. and in this case you can experience the reality of having that much. although this may be bad for casinos because when people realize they can lose the fake demo amount of that big, they can easily lose their own money so they may be discouraged to deposit anything because of fear of losing money.

Yes but is there really a different "thrill" whether you are betting with play money and when you are betting with 1 Satoshi? In either case there is no thrill or emotion because they hold little value.

Most faucet abusers don't do 9900x bet because those are extremely rare. Imagine where every 10,000 bets is probalistically suppose to be a win. Imagine if you got like 40,000-50,000 rolls before you actually get a winner. It would be very very time consuming to do that.

but it is physically impossible to make that much bet only with faucet payment. because there are two restrictions: time and the number of claims one can make.
if you make a claim of lets say 300 satoshi average and make a 9900x bet and lose you have to wait 3 to 5 minutes on average to claim again and most sites only give you about 5-10 claims per day. so that is 10 bets at most. and with 1 satoshi bets your winning amount would be small and again you wouldn't be making 10,000 nets anyways. and even if you win, paying a 0.02BTC=$25 is not going to kill the casino which is earning a lot more daily!
3682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is not Ideal, it represents possibilities. on: April 24, 2017, 07:13:41 AM
Three years ago or two years ago, if you asked me what Bitcoin is, I’d tell you it is the future of money. It is managed by the network, not by the government. Plus, it is private, anonymous and fast. It’s just perfect!
after 3 or so years I am still saying a similar thing, although I never used the word "anonymous" I prefer calling it "giving you a better privacy if you know how to" and I would never call it perfect but only because NOTHING is perfect. but bitcoin is the best thing that I have seen so far. many others claim to be better, some even come close but nothing could compete with bitcoin so far.

Quote
But it has inherent risks like anonymity,
what is "risk like anonymity" how can it be a risk?

Quote
hacking,
bitcoin has never been hacked and for many years to come, it can not be hacked. the cryptography level that it uses is good enough to prevent it and in case some vulnerability was found it will affect a lot of things, not just bitcoin. and it can be patched.
hacks have always happened because of people's mistakes. like having a key logger, having no password on your wallet, not using cold storage,...

Quote
51%attack, double spending.
I wouldn't call these as "risks". these are small possibilities that also can be prevented.

Quote
Stop imagining bitcoin is perfect. No coins are perfect.
it is best to have a better understanding of the advantages and disadvantages (or if you like calling it risks) of bitcoin or anything for that matter before starting to use it and try to learn then from reliable resources not what you read on the internet from random source or what your personal understanding is. they can be very wrong.
3683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit and Altcoin on: April 24, 2017, 06:56:21 AM
many other altcoins are talking about implementation of SegWit but it is mostly because of the hype it gives them to pump their coin and in smaller coins it can sometimes be even more effective!
but also there are more benefits to SegWit than just the hype and price rise, the malleability fix is an example and also opening up the way for easy implementation of lightning network although I doubt any of the altcoins, specially those smaller ones even need this last one.

there is a topic in this board which is compiling a list of altcoins with SegWit support you can refer to it for more information. I believe it is updated:

Where you see proof? He has not post and provide any proof!
I have rally proof, screenshot, video and TXid of transaction my deposit
It seems that they provided yahoo enough proofs:

ParaDice has provided sufficient enough evidence that this user is creating loads of multiple accounts.
You should really stop wasting your and our time because you tried to abuse site and you got caught. End of story.

Really?
Need public post proof. This proof does not exzist..

Wait Lauda and Lutpin!
I deposited 0.0033btc

what you are currently doing in this topic is called extortion!
even if you were telling the truth, with each comment you make in this topic you are proving that you don't have any proof and are simply attacking to get some money in exchange for your silence. and that will get you banned eventually if you keep this up.
if you have any better proof, go to scam accusation board and make a topic, which you already did. and provide the proof there.
3686  Economy / Speculation / Re: effect of Japan on bitcoin price speculation on: April 23, 2017, 07:27:52 AM
Japan exchanges has one of the highest rate of daily transaction
you can't measure the "rate of daily transactions" going in and out of an exchange, unless you know all their bitcoin addresses and are watching and analyzing the whole blockchain.
I think you mean the "daily trade volume" which is a completely different thing, and yes that is high.

and we expect for massive adopters in there which they might be adopt this technology.
the technology is the blockchain technology and adopting that means creating your own alternate cryptocurrency. if they adopt that, then it has nothing to do with bitcoin.

Quote
Maybe, other major countries will permit it if bitcoin become scalable and there is no transaction issue such as we have right now.
what you call "transaction issue" is not a concern for any country while making a decision about letting bitcoin be legal or not or even do what Japan did and accept it as a real currency.
3687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any good coins I am missing out on: April 23, 2017, 07:19:30 AM
it looks good to me.
but you should keep one thing in mind, these days the altcoins are getting pumped. if you stick around for long enough you will see them get dumped too and that is the part which you should be looking out for. and then there will come a time when all these coins are just going down and stay there for a long time so make sure you are not bagholding anything more than you are willing to.

in your list for example I see XRP, and as you can see that coin is already declining coming down from the high price of 7075 satoshi down to 2500 and eventually back to 3 digits.
3688  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Your advice needed - updated on: April 23, 2017, 07:07:30 AM
It would be also cool to make a service which will allow you to bet money on your team before play in official DOTA 2 or CS. But I do not know how to realize it, and not sure if it's legal with a steam company.

there are a lot of places that you can gamble on your favorite teams in Dota2 or CS:GO games but none of them are affiliated with Steam or Valve. they are all third parties. there are casinos that work with bitcoin even, but there are more working with fiat and even more working with in game items (like the cosmetic items you use in Dota2 like the AntiMage weapon or Pudge's hook).
there is also GosuGamers which is one of the biggest gaming related website that I remember it had something called "branches" in dota2 page that you could gamble them (they had no value) and then they added item betting.
as I said I don't know how legal any of these are, but they are happening.
3689  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▂▃▅▆█ BITSLER █▆▅▃▂ 🎁 50% affiliation promotion NOW 🎁 Biggest trafic on: April 23, 2017, 07:02:01 AM

This promotion will not attract players more but it will encourage site promoters to bring more players to the site. So many people try their best to post links in all over the social media and automatically site will become very popular in the gambling industry. It is a very good thinking by admin and I too don't have any referral to this site yet.

it is kind of a double negative, your statement Smiley
all the promotions will always work on everyone, not just the site promoters. both the players that are already playing in the site and also others who are not yet a part of this site would want a piece of the action. and it is always the expectation of the next promotion which is always around the corner, and it doesn't end just on one promotion.
Yeah so i like as always what bitsler admin make always in their promotions. They have everyday bounty hunt and montly promotion and in that way they can get bring more players/gamblers in their casino. Anyways i just want to congratulate all bitsler that made succesfull casino and make #1 now best gambling in thus month

i'm just use bitsler.
the game is nice but i don't like one thing is the chat box rain.
When people donate to rain, why the rain only go to the people who wagered 1 btc (lv5) ?
that's unfair, and too high.
I know u want to prevent the spam, but i says really, i don't really feel good. rain rain rain only on few people only.
I sometimes in play and chatting, at first see wow people in rain, they said random and finally i find the unfair rule..

The money came from the player who donates. they donate for their happiness. The money should not be use like that.

Pls consider to do adjustment on that. That will make bitsler lose his social types of gaming.

I do not think that to wagered 1 btc is really huge amount, because this is a lifetime, so by keep spending a little time here you will get that 1 btc wagered in no time. This is 1 btc wagered so winning and losing will count and if you are luck enough you will only use a little bit of coin to achieve that. I never heard anyone complainr this thing before, so it is fair enough for everyone. May be you should consider to get some coin from now on Grin

1 BTC is worth $1250 on average so it IS in fact a very huge amount, we having multiple bitcoins doesn't mean it is a small amount. for me it means I bought them cheap when it was $200 Smiley
but I agree with what terrate  said, I think the level 5 requirement for being eligible for the rain is a bit too big. rain or generally giveaways are usually small and are given to active players as a reward for simply being there and playing. and with the new rules change (the change that Baryom said in the algorithm they use to find whom to reward) it can't be abused.

NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS

Just minutes ago I have pushed some large changes:

* Users now have LEVELS, the more you play the higher level you get. Levels will open a way for new awesome things: faucet will depend on user level, there will be rakeback with % depending on level. Levels will unlock customization features too.
* 0-confirmation deposits now work for deposits up to 0.2 BTC (was up to 0.1 BTC)
* slightly changed page design

Stay tuned for more exciting changes! Levels open a lot of possibilities and we will keep working to make YD even cooler!

Cheers,
Ethan

BTW: we are running a wagering competition, check it out at https://yolodice.com/#bonus

I have checked YOLODice in the early days, and checked it today too, I am glad to see a lot of improvements in the site, specially changing how switching to different tabs/sections work, I found it a bit weird in the early days.
now I specially like the "Watch bets" tab/section with the pause button and the settings you can apply to filter out the bets and only show what you want to see.
I also am loving the Level system that dice sites have these days, specially if it is easy to achieve not like some places that you need to wager a big amount to reach level 1. I hope you work on it more and we hear the new decisions about this feature soon.
3691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP at the top 3 of Market Capitalizations - Ripple 79.03% Up in last 24h on: April 22, 2017, 08:07:24 AM
I dont understand what gives XRP value. Could anyone explain?

Is XRP used for anything? Does anyone need it for something? When would I need to have XRP?

if you have a question like this you should ask it in a new topic instead of bumping an old topic which was created before the pump 22 days ago.
and for technical answer about what Ripple is and what it is offering you can read
- their website: https://ripple.com/
- there is also the announcement topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=301635.0 (I think it is this one).

and if you want my opinion it is not much different from other coins, it is created to pump and dump and that is what it has been doing so far.
I do not like that massive supply of this coin that is circulating currently in the market and I also don't like how it was distributed by releasing massive supplies.

and also this "Ripple 79.03% Up in last 24h" should be enough indication for anyone to know there is something pump and dumpy going on.

3693  Economy / Speculation / Re: Segwit agreement on LTC: Do you trust the miners? on: April 22, 2017, 07:46:20 AM
I don't trust that miners will vote for it, no.

Jihan Wu controls a large amount of the hashrate on Litecoin and is clearly trying to personally block SegWit happening so that there's less chance of an increase in SegWit economic support on Bitcoin.

The longer he keeps this up, the lower the SegWit hashrate on Litecoin will get because people lose hope of it happening and move on.

I am not really following Litecoin hashrate apart from its price, but this doesn't sound right to me at all. so do you have any solid information or is it your personal guess?
my observation was that miners were joining SegWit slowly and the percentage went up to about 81% and then the new hashrate came online and it could only push it back to 71%, I wouldn't call this exactly "a large amount of the hashrate on Litecoin".
3694  Economy / Gambling / Re: ADMIRALSPOT.COM | DEPOSIT 0.5 BTC PLAY WITH 1 BTC on: April 22, 2017, 07:30:41 AM
Well it doesn't surprise me because the ADMIRALSPOT signature campaign seems like the worst out there. In almost every topic there are newbie accounts which are posting irrelevant gibberish. Some posts not only aren't related to the gambling site but they aren't even related to Bitcoin.

I would say most of the signature campaign promoters that are with ADMIRALSPOT don't even speak english.
It is not every user. There might be few users who might be lacking a bit in the language. This happens with the users who have English as second language. There are newbie account members who seems to have better knowledge than Hero Members, so it's not good to indicate the entire campaign, better try to indicate users separately.

the discussion of being in a signature campaign and writing very poor English has been brought up to several of the campaign managers as it has become a very evident issue!people as myself that speak read and write English as a second or third language are not all the same. so crowding all of them into one heaping barrel of turds  would not be a good thing. but they are addressing this issue as to clean up the forum in general .but you are correct that this campaign is pretty notable as the non English speakers use English very poorly!
Yahoo as announced as downsizing the campaign I think it was this reason or maybe the budget exceed and not affordable by the owner. By the way it may make easier for the manager to manage the campaign as now he will have lesser amount of members to participate. By the Yahoo is able to handle much bigger campaigns but here the newbies are new to understand the posts and they often cannot post accordingly.

I doubt Yahoo has any trouble managing the numbers or detecting who is spamming, the only reason for down-sizing, or pausing or stopping signature campaigns have always been money troubles in the past 2-3 years that I am on bitcointalk and a part of different signature campaigns. Wink

...
I had the same problem, even posted about it earlier.

After seeing chat message about hot wallet refill, I realized that this error was caused by the fact that how wallet ran dry.
I tested it and was able to bet with no problems. But that error is confusing and should be explained better than simple: 'you can't bet'.
yeah, sorry I missed it, and it is literary the first post of this page. apparently I am blind. although my post was partly me wanting to say something as a feedback of my experience on trying this new platform.
suffice it to say that the problem was fixed when I tried the site again today, and I have made it up to 11000 satoshi. and back to zero since I lost it all Tongue

but the platform still seems buggy. for example (812676) is supposed to be a 1000 satoshi bet but it says 1001, I don't get why I made a 1000 satoshi bet and lost 1000+1 satoshi Smiley although it doesn't seem to be deducting that +1 satoshi from the balance.

also in my opinion the provably fair thing should be implemented on each bet. meaning if I click on any of my bet numbers (eg 812676) I should see the seed,... and be able to verify it. right now it only gives me the last bet.
3696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is YoBit.net provably fair ? on: April 20, 2017, 06:55:18 AM
And why so many players there.
what i see is simple design from year 1990.
what so special that 2 Millions players go there  every month ?
yobit is not gambling site , this is exchange trading..

it is not even an exchange service!
Yobit is a place made to make money for the owners. they do all kinds of shady behavior to make more money. a non provably fair dice game is only the smallest part of it all.
checking the trading part you can see how many fake pumps they do which you can not even join in. the deposits of that particular coin they are pumping will be disabled first a couple of days before and then during the pump you can easily see orders being filled which are below your order and history reports of fake orders that aren't even doable according to their minimum volume rule!

Please stop making weird advice to someone who has a very simple problem, you are doing more harm than good.

Brave browser is still in beta (V 0.14) and there are still problems with it needs fixing, and if someone can not access a site on old and nearly bug-free browser such as Google Chrome, a beta version browser is not going to change anything for them.

0.00000500 ฿ Faucet (Free Bitcoin) every 5 minutes

faucet amount is not 500 but instead it is 321 satoshi.
and trying the site out, it feels a bit buggy. for example I made a bet with 321 and 2x and won the next bet I made was max amount meaning 642 satoshi and I get this error which doesn't even make sense Cheesy

also the design looks too simple I think it is better if you work on it a bit more.
Chat is also broken, I had to refresh twice to get it to show up.

Love the Futurama icons though.
3699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PIVX speculatation + POLONIEX? on: April 19, 2017, 07:52:43 AM

Poloniex guys only care about big coins that pays them money and they can add to also pump themselves and make money. it is possible that they don't have as much PIVX themselves as they have other coins like Dash or ETH so they are waiting to add it and then pump it properly with the stash they get.
Polo is Pump Central of Altcoins Smiley

my understanding is they don't like forks, i honestly don;t see what pivx offers over dash.
a lot more profit! and a lot less centralization and zero premine.
you can pump a coin from 100 satoshi to 0.01BTC or even 0.1BTC but as price goes higher the pump gets harder. for example you can't easily pump a coin from 0.05 to 0.1 (a simple 2x rise) but you can pump it from 100 satoshi to 10000 satoshi (a big 100x rise).

Yea I saw the same tweet, so I would expect PIVX and other popular coins to get added soon. Also, is it up to the Developers if their coin gets added?

what tweet?
3700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the Bitcoin war is stupid and Bitsend isn't. on: April 19, 2017, 07:33:47 AM
Why the hell are we in this bind with Bitcoin when the solution already exists today as Bitsend which has a block size of 10mb....even DASH only has a block size of 1MB.

bitcoin has been around for 8 years with 1 MB max block size and the blockchain size is already above 100 GB and that is proving some difficulties for many people to run a full node. when you can't have enough distribution among full nodes and it becomes difficult, Full nodes will be run by only services, miners, ... which means centralization. I should add we are not yet there in bitcoin, and the distribution of nodes is well enough to ensure a decentralized system.

with 10 MB block size the size of blockchain is potentially growing 10 times faster and the number of nodes will fall that much faster and leads to centralization. this coin and coins like that are already centralized with their "Master Node" feature.

imagine a fork needs to happen, there are millions of users but none of their opinions matter and only a handful of master nodes will decide the fate aka centralization.

Look at PIVX, people wouldn't ever mention it untill it had a big price rise. Then people start talking and then you see articles written etc. Bitsend isn't even in the top 100 coins so no one cares as yet.
this is what altcoin market is all about: the price and the bitcoin profit we can get from it.

interesting part is this:
