This is going to be the next bitcoin ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I consider this coin a worthy alt with its own unique parameters. Be ready.

With the first known altcoin since 2010, alts sure are killing Bitcoin. When will this fable finally die?

For those pumpers who has been pumping moon for weeks, maybe time to take a break...... go pump your wife or girlfriend first....
Why? After all its their money...

XMR just has to go through this phase. The price does not lie, the initial price was apparently a bit too high. Patience is a virtue.
Bitcoin price had several 5-fold drops from ATH and even one or two 10-fold drops. XMR is likely to be even more of a roller-coaster. Bigger risk, better reward ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Great. For Windows and for Linux? How is the official release of the Android client going? I think it's working.. but after this next release we will have to test it again... its always been working just that we were waiting for a new mined block which hasn't happened yet according to hunterbunter... but Im pretty sure this code should work as I did mergemining patch for syscoin so I know it pretty well. I say after we test it and it works.. lets just release it and go with it going forward instead of "waiting" I tend to agree. If the Android client works fool proof (no manual entry of nodes), why not get it into the Play Store?

That's the spirit. I remember the faucet payments from the old days and what they were worth a few years later.

It's just price discovery. Earn your place in the crypto world with hard results and price will eventually rebound.

I think the average user wouldn't care how it works, as long as it works. Only a handful of people understand the thing we nowadays call money either. Crypto must solve a real world problem to gain substantial use in everyday life. From my perspective, this premise is met. It only takes some time (and perhaps a financial crisis or two) for the larger public to become interested.

I consider the anonymous coins 'theoretically' better coins, although I am not that afraid of the transparency of Bitcoin.

" If you’ve followed Bitcoin for any time, you’ll know this is a seriously eminent group of authors" I plead ignorance, but none of these names are familiar to me. Bitcoinica, Goxxed, Prirate40 etc, on the other hand... ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) But having said so, the breakdown in the link is indeed a very comprehensible layman's summary of side chains.

I admit rptiela's interest in this coin eventually sucked me in. This coin is still incredibly technical and unattractive from a user perspective ( reminiscing a command line program), but even in this (from an Apple user perspective) horrible state it is already doing great. The amount of innovation going on in the 'money scene' since 2008 is astonishing and this coin actually sets out to solve a real world problem.

The only reason why BTC will grow and increase in price is Anonymity. Each and everyday people are tired of showing ids and passports to banks to send money to someone or receive. With BTC its all cool and your anonymous what more is needed? BTC Can grow a lot more in developed countries with high tax rate and strict control. As people want to live free not in a cage. One of the reason Sweden loves bitcoin is this.
There are way better alt coins for that. It does not have to be 100% privacy. It can just be something that is similar to cash: payment is visible for the receiver, but the identity of the payee is not necessarily known to the rest of the world (e.g., stored in a central system with access for government officials).

The lower and lower price sure makes it easier to step in with 1,000 XMR. It's about the number of coins in the end, not the entry price in a long term strategy. Privacy is a very valuable asset for crypto's and at some point, a lot of people will recognize this is essentially absent with Bitcoin. I consider dev activity key for the coming 12 months, not price. It will take some time for this one to fly.

Finally took the effort on reading up on this coin. Seems to offer a lot and it's pricing becomes increasingly attractive. This could be a good entry point for steady accumulation.

It's just the phase Bitcoin is in. Early adopters will force others into the game. As long as Bitcoin solves a real problem, adoption will inevitably follow.
