3681  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie problems - help needed on: October 20, 2015, 05:58:45 AM
So I'm finding this about as simple as trying to program a monkey-driven rocket trip to Pluto.

Trying to get bitcoin today.

Went the paypal route to VirWox, put in a transaction that supposedly went through.

Downloaded Armory wallet.

Then had to download bitcoin, since I got a message directing me to do that.

Nothing in the Armory wallet from the paypal transaction though.

So I then try to fire off an interac-transfer through quickbt.com

Again, transaction goes through, but nothing in Armory wallet.

Armory is giving me this message "Downloading via Armory CDN", and a torrent rate, along with "7 hours" (was 8 earlier).

Can someone please advise me as to what is going on, and also if there is any possibility of actually getting some bitcoin today, please advise on that method as well.

Thank you.

I see you are a newbie, yes, you should not start with armory, because you need to download the blockchain and its hard for newbies.

Try electrum, and import your wallet there. You will see your money there instantly, electrum is a lightweight client, no download needed.

3682  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn 1BTC a year? on: October 20, 2015, 05:56:44 AM
You can easily earn dozens of BTC each year just by participating in Signature Campaigns.
Honestly you can probably earn 1BTC/year just by filling out captchas or by heading over to a faucet.
I've earned probably close to 1BTC just cashing in on sign-up bonuses on Casinos!

You can probably earn tons of more  even in a week if you watch on social media all the giveaways.

Rarely bitcoin anymore, but they do altcoins, and then just convert back to btc.
3683  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why did you come to Bitcointalk? on: October 20, 2015, 05:55:31 AM
I usually came here to learn and talk about bitcoin.

Today I teach about bitcoin and mostly debate people in the economy sector, exposing the keynesian ponzi system.
3684  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin - Having some issues on: October 20, 2015, 05:54:06 AM
Hello! I am not sure if this is the right place for this but i will give it a shot anyways. I use Electrum as my wallet and today i made a purchase from a bitcoin atm machine locally and then transfered the coins into my electrum wallet. The problem that i am having now is for some reason my wallet is showing that i have an insane balance and i have no idea where my bitcoins that i purchased with cash through the atm went and its saying that i have a balance of 597.34327 mbtc which i have no idea where it came from. I still have the receipt from the purchase from the ATM and am just trying to figure out what happened to the 0.60210145 that i purchased. Thank you and if that makes no sense please feel free to ask me anything to clarify the issue.

Yes it is a pretty misleading but yes we have a unit system for bitcoin:

1 BITCOIN =1 BITCOIN

1 mBTC = 0.001 BTC  (2 zeros)

1 μBTC =  0.000001 BTC  (5 zeros)

1 satoshi = 0.00000001 BTC (7 zeros)
3685  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many bitcoins do you have to sell to make a living? on: October 20, 2015, 05:50:15 AM
If my dream comes true then 1 bitcoin will be enough for your entire life. If not then at least 100 Cheesy

Look bitcoin will probably have a shiny future , its the saviour of humanity!

3688  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cheapest electricity in the world on: October 20, 2015, 05:40:23 AM

That is crazy if you stole that much electricity in US it's hard to tell what you would get.  It's technically a felony just from stolen electricity in value pretty quickly.  We have meters that are pretty smart lately.  Now they are using digital some cities send out the info of meter.  I'm far enough away though they come and read my meter once a month.

I can't imagine getting away with just a fine.  Definitely different cultures, which is part of what makes the board so intersting.

Pretty draconian laws there, but yea, this kind of collectivist theft is annoying me too.

They do the same for water, heating, and property taxes here, and the fine for each one is about the same. Even the 3 month jail sentence is rarely given, and only to industrial thiefs who like connect their factory to the power line and cheat, but I guess they sometimes get away with that too.

The funny thing is that there werent any inspectors even in the past 20 years, they only reintroduced them a few months ago.

The problem is that for honest people like me, they put 100 taxes on electricity, yes its relatively cheap to international levels, but as in my income/electricity cost ratio, its pretty high, and it sucks.

Its not that electricity is not subsidized here, its taxed 1000 times. Starting from EU taxes to green taxes , VAT, and other bullshit (just to cover the cost of these thiefs).

I have no chance of mining here profitably.
3689  Economy / Services / Re: YoBit.Net - Signature Campaign - Realtime Payouts (daily) on: October 20, 2015, 04:59:39 AM
Guys the affiliate program is a mess, i`ve worn the signature for 2 weeks, and my guy didnt get not even 1 referral.

It was modified with bright colors, but not a single subscriber. The signature system must be broke or something.

i doubt it is broke, it could possible be that its just no user joined yobit using your ref link as there are lots of yobit campaigners all over the forum and some user can go directly to yobit without clicking your signature

I designed a new one ,and will give it a shot for another week. This one is more detailed and catchy, I hope we will get atleast 1 affiliate.

I doubt there are that many yobit users, there is still room to do this referral program, but i hope this niche is good.

RealBitcoin, this is a challenging question but I will add my thoughts.

To answer your question we must first examine the role of government and it's relationship to the base state of nature. This relationship was analyzed in depth by Thomas Hobbs in his book Leviathan.

In the state of nature, each person would have a right, or license, to everything in the world. There is no centralized authority and no external recourse against violence, coercion, or defection. This, Hobbes argued, leads to a "war of all against all"

Yep I analyzed the role of the state in society too. I dont really have a problem with social order that is created by the state, I have a problem wit the taxation system, the keynesian ponzi scheme financial system, and the corrupt bureocracy.

I think the best form of governance would be a Terran Federation, that would be subdivided into the continents, and it would not be nationality/race/tribe/religion based, it would be a unified culture. Also this global government would be direct democracy based, with real  transparency, given to us by the decentralized blockhain systems.

It can be a decentralized legislature, based with the current system, or it can be a balanced one with some other clever ideas.

I also think that this global government should not interfere in the market, nor it should have a tax system. Maybe a 1-2% transaction tax, imposed on every transacton, but other than that, nothing else.

Also it should not be keynesian, it has to be austrian school based with gold or bitcoin or whatever backing, so that there would never need to be a debt system that needs to be funded by taxes.

Most taxes go anyway to fund the debt based system, and with a global government, a 1-2% transaction tax, on every transaction is more than enough to sustain every public institution, and all other taxes can go directly into the trash can.

Nonprofit organization could reclaim the taxes at the end of the year.

It would be a really nice system.
3692  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: October 20, 2015, 03:38:13 AM
You're demonstrating that your own beliefs are morally superior to others and they must be adopted, how is this different from islam or socialism?

How can you preach individuality while you wish to impose your belief system upon the masses.

The only way a free market can survive is if it cannot be corrupted by anyone, including you.

I dont want to impose anything on anybody, you spin my words again Cheesy

Please read my posts word by word to understand what I`m saying, because you just put words in my mouth.

I only said that free market is not possible until humanity is not united, because individualism is not possible until humans are not viewed as brothers.

Tribalism creates collectivism! Even Ayn Rand admits that, and she was a  real free marketer. The collective belief / group associacion is based on ancient primitive tribalist instincts.

Uniting humanity doesn't mean a marxist world domination, nor any sort of collectivist borg/zombie system. It only means that humans drop their childish tribalist mindset, and start treating people as their fellow humans, with respect and friendship.

Quote
Tribalism (which is the best name to give to all the group manifestations of the anti-conceptual mentality) is a dominant element in Europe, as a reciprocally reinforcing cause and result of Europe’s long history of caste systems, of national and local (provincial) chauvinism, of rule by brute force and endless, bloody wars.
...
Philosophically, tribalism is the product of irrationalism and collectivism. It is a logical consequence of modern philosophy. If men accept the notion that reason is not valid, what is to guide them and how are they to live?
...
If men accept the notion that the individual is helpless, intellectually and morally, that he has no mind and no rights, that he is nothing, but the group is all, and his only moral significance lies in selfless service to the group—they will be pulled obediently to join a group.
...
This, of course, is racism. But if your group is small enough, it will not be called “racism”: it will be called “ethnicity.”

3693  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: October 20, 2015, 02:51:08 AM
Who are you to decide what does and does not belong in the 21st century? Are you god?

Well look if you want a truely productive society, and cost effective business (i presume) that costs the least amount to maintain and the most productive outcome, then this has to go.

Tribalism only gave us genocide, mass murders, hatred, concentration camps, bullying , discrimination, racism, religious wars, and unmeasurable brutality.

Now if you are a nice person, and I assume you are, then you want to end this madness, and that can only end if tribalism goes away.

Our technology and civilization is too advanced now for such primitive 100,000 year old society system, and we need a better one, that would enable everybody to reach it's true potential, individually, without any tribal supremacy crap.
3694  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: October 20, 2015, 02:20:28 AM
You wont unite humanity by installing a global marxist dictatorship, you're beginning to sound like Ted Turner.

Humanity might start bickering less after all attempts at controlling the free market via warfare, etc. Have proven futile due to it's decentralized nature.

People don't like eachother, you can't force that or eliminate violence.

Again you are ranting here, and way out of line. I`m not a leftist, but I would like if naturally people would not differetiate eachother, like in terms of bigotry and racism.

Also it's not about individual hatred, so what if individual people dont like eachother, thats one thing.

I`m more concerned about group hatred, based on tribalist and religious division, the primive/animal part of humanity that doesn't belong in the 21 century.

____________________

The leftist-marxist equality is nonsense. I know that. But that doesn't mean that humans should not respect eachother like individuals and put aside these primitive tribalist hatred that they have, and it's based on nonsense.

____________________

Humans are already more mixed than before 1000 years, people can travel, and move to many places, and this regional tribalist mindset is just annoying and non-productive.

If you guys want a real knowledge age with prosperity and world peace, then tribalism must go.
3695  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: October 20, 2015, 12:18:15 AM
Mobs formed because the state created a black market for them to be profitable.

You can't eliminate nature no matter how hard you try or dislike it.

I find cultural diversity interesting, even warfare and death, and you want to pour multiculturalism on top of everything because it's "savage"

The problem we have now is people like you create laws and attempt to control nature without thinking of the consequences.

I would also feel safer to defend myself and family from such mobs in a free market, because I would have adequate home security to do so (not relying upon a mediocre police response after the fact) which would discourage mob warfare or claiming territory.

Hold on a second, you totally misunderstood my post. I`m also for free markets.

I just have a different theory about war/maffia/crime/genocide and other bad things. My theory is that these are created based on social segregation and isolationism.

I don't think we can achieve a free market, before we unite humanity, because there will always be an isolationist group that will either invade or get invaded either by gangs or military.

The only way to achieve peace, and you wont even need policing after, is to make humanity homogeneous, and then we will have peace and prosperity, with free markets, and no isolationist gangs to destroy it.

All gangs are race, religion, or other isolationist idea based. If you eliminate tribalism and isolationist behaviour, you wont have any gangs anymore.

Yes obvious...

I really love when I get half of my income stolen, then my bank account being frozen for no reasons, then thousands of pages of regulations, then taxes upon taxes, and no free markets...

Oh wait. I don't. So yeah, bitcoin is the digital messiah Smiley
3697  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: October 19, 2015, 10:18:00 PM

OK, let me try and give my best shot at what I *THINK* it would be best. Local communities are the primal cells of a healthy government. The great success with the Athenians of the gold century of Pericles was that they actually could speak and debate up close and personally with their leader. Personal contact is mandatory afaic the democratic control. This happens because the leader cannot do harm to the people that they look him in the eye (because tomorrow they will meet again!).

Globalization on the other hand, tends to leave the leaders to their absolute solitude and delivers the ability to perform whatever discrepancy they wish from what they might have suggested during their election campaigns. This way, they have nothing that keeps them from stealing for their own benefit, enforce certain politics that oppress the people, to name a few.

The best politics should have been a form of local globalization. This comes as a draft to my mind but I surely think that if we formed a global government that we could actually see and talk them (while everybody listens at the same time), will somehow prevent them from doing harm... or not. The tech is here anyway. Roll Eyes

Alright then, it can be a bottom- up organization too.

However these local communities must be tied into a network. Otherwise you end up again with citi-states and wars  and bigotry between eachother.

I mean some form of ties and collaboration must always occur.

If you want a free market, prosperity and world peace, the I think you have to eliminate tribalism. Because if you think about it every single mob/gang in human history was race based: italian mob, russian mob, latino mob, irish mob ,etc...

They were all segregated and felt hostile in a different enviroment, so they organized and formed crime organizations, as a process of leveraging the society in their favor.

A  "knowedge age" free global market has no way to defend against mobs or military defense, when a hostile bigot group attacks a certain sector.

So I start to belive that for a real free market , tribalism must be gone, because then gangs will be totaly eliminated ,and it can be a  real era of peace and prosperity.
3698  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: October 19, 2015, 08:21:31 PM
mining if you have free electric Tongue

Free electricity doesn't mean it's profitable. You're burning up your video card/CPU at the same time. Factor in those costs.

when i was instamining alt in the past, it was basically with free electricity, because i was mining for 5 min and then repeat for another coin, and it was everything but not profitable

also if well cooled, usually custom gpu are the best, you can be assured that your gpu would last very long, and anyway gpu are not like asic, they have warranty...

This is one edge of gpu mining: the warranty of the card itself. Nowadays, altcoins mostly are GPU-dependent on their algorithms thus making GPU mining profitable (if in case these coins hit the exchanges). Also, a few cards would probably give you some profit if you mine a low-difficulty coin already out in the exchanges, it's also a plus if you got a cheap electricity.

Overclocking your GPU will void the warranty. I believe mining at 100% will as well. And sadly, nobody has lifetime warranties anymore, Sad.

Because we live in a consumerist economy where the more you consume the better the economy is, fallacy is on.

Regardless, the maximum warranty you get is 5 years here, and that is on TV and PC. For shitty small stuff, 1 maybe 2 years.

They make shittier items for the same price (shrink-flation), to hide the inflation in the economy. So no producer will assume the risk of warranty.

Blame the money printing Smiley
3699  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cheapest electricity in the world on: October 19, 2015, 08:16:54 PM
Well, you could always tap into your neighbor's line.... that would probably be the cheapest.  But other than that, the cheapest may be to start a company and register as commercial.  Most places have a preferential commercial rate.  Obviously this has other overhead costs as well.  There's no such thing as a free lunch.

That's kinda common here on our country (mostly known as jumper) especially on most of the squatters areas, actually it's free of cost but its illegal (you can bribe policemen here though whenever you've been caught Cheesy ) and they are more likely prone to fire. I've heard that's what also some miners here on country do cuz electricity here was so expensive.

What country are you in? Seems crazy to screw around with the meters.   Let alone add theft to it.

Are you saying they are just bypassing the meters?  Scary stuff.

I'm from the Philippines and that scary stuff was pretty common here Cheesy We are living on a poor country with high cost electricity so that poor people used to do that just to have an electricity, not only poor people. Also people that can afford to pay electricity do it just to have some savings on their income.

Thanks for telling story about it OP.  Interesting to say the least.  Hard to imagine people doing this.

You could not pay me enough to work on live wire bypassing a meter for safety reasons.  Let alone the legal reasons on not doing it.

In my country the fine for manipulating your electricity meter used to be about 200$ (i dont know the current fine), or in larger (industrial scale) theft cases 3 months prison.

The electricity costs about 100$ for a normal household.

Thus if people bribe police (which they do), and can get away for 2-3 years, then it's cost effective to do so.

You dont pay for 2 years, that is 2400$ saved and then pay a fine of 200$.

__________________

I think they made the fine bigger by now, but many people did this here. I never did , plus I live in a rent so I cannot do it anyway, but many of the ex neighbors where I lived in the past did it, and got away with it.

I dont know in what country you live man, but there is big corruption in the world , that you cant even imagine.

Big justice what can I say, put 1000 new taxes please, I cannot wait till I get all my money stolen.
