A school with only one teacher and one student



Sixin primary school is located in Gaoyang, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality. With the reform of rural education and urbanization, more and more rural students have gone to the central primary school in town. Wu Tao became the last student of Sixin primary school in 2013 as his parents engaged in farm work and they did not want their child to stay far away from them. The teacher who has been accompanying him in the school is Xiang Zhengguo. As the only teacher in the school, he teaches 10 courses including Chinese, math, PE, and music. Two bronze statues of girls — one representing a South Korean and the other a Chinese —have been made in a studio in Gyeonggi, South Korea on Oct. 25.

Both girls wear the traditional clothing of their country. They look around 14 – about thesame age as many comfort women when they were forced into military brothels run byJapan's imperial army.

According to Yonhap, the life-size statues will be placed in downtown Seoul in a park nearthe Seoul National University on Oct. 28.

The Korean girl statue was made by a Korean couple - artist Kim Un Seng and Kim SukJeong . The Chinese one is made by professor Pan Yiqun of China's Tsinghua Universityand filmmaker Shi Yong.

Last autumn, when Shi Yong saw the girl statue standing in front the Japanese Embassy inKorea, he was so moved. "I was touched by the way how the Korean artists reflect thebrutal history," he said. When he came back to China, he talked to his friend Pan. Theywent back to Korea and persuaded Kim Un Seng and Kim Suk Jeong to make a statue of aKorean girl and a Chinese girl with them. The idea was accepted. After finishing the works,they decided to place them in Korea.

Professor Proposes Polygamy and Gay Marriage for China's Bachelors

The birth ratio of boys compared with girls in China has been rising steadily, peaking in 2009 before dropping to 1.16 in 2014. Studies anticipated that at least 20 percent of men will be unable to marry in mid-21 century. By 2020, China will see 30 million unmarried men.

An economics professor has a unique, economic perspective: Chinese bachelors should be allowed to share wives and marry each other.

Xie Zuoshi, an economics professor at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, said, "In terms of supply and demand, the rising number of bachelors has deepened the scarcity of women, whose value is increased consequently. Men with high incomes find wives first because they can afford to take care of their women. For those who are earning less, one option is to share a wife with another man," Xie wrote on his blogpost. He also proposed that China should make polygamy and gay marriage legal, or encourage men to marry women from other countries.

Xie's comment immediately sparked heated debate online. Many netizens were offended and raised questions on his moral standard.

Man walks with 50 kg stones on his feet

How much weight can you carry with your hands or on your back? Maybe 50kg, 100kg or something approaching the weightlifting world record of around 200 kg? But how about lifting loads with your feet?

A 55-year-old man, surnamed Huang, can surprisingly lift 50kg of stones with his feet and carry them, along with two dumbbells in his hands for 200 meters in Bairen village, Supo town in Chengdu, South China's Sichuan province, dfic.cn reported on Thursday.

Huang said that he's walked with stones on his feet every day for years as a way to exercise and he's "worn out" seven pairs of stones.

He also said that someone once challenged him but it ended with the challenger suffering a fractured foot bone.
