3701  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I lower bitcoin network fees? on: February 06, 2021, 12:52:15 PM
Guys I don't understand technical things....
I can wait 1-2 days for transaction to be confirmed.

https://mempool.space showing 13 sat/bytes need 30 minutes to get confirm...

I'm using https://www.blockchain.com wallet.
13sat/byte for 30 minutes is just an assumption with the current network traffic in the meanwhile the fees can be pushed to 100 sat as well so don't consider your transaction will confirmed in the mentioned time period but most of the time if you set fee over 20sat then you have high chances that it will be confirmed even when the network is congested.

At the time I am writing this post, the fastest fee is 20 sat/byte.
3702  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Almost lost all of my coins in an exchange last week on: February 05, 2021, 05:58:13 PM
I don’t remember if any authenticator beside Google are offered in the exchange.
Google authenticator isn't the only one, there are tons of authenticators available and one of the best is Authy which is available for both Android and IOS which also provides some of the features like desktop version and mobile transfer.

You can choose any authenticator you want, all you need to do is to just scan the codes or enter the provided key to enable 2FA.
3703  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: New Bustabit phishing site - 1 day old on: February 05, 2021, 04:40:28 PM
AFAIK, bustabit owner aware of all these phishing sites and trying hard to supress them and as a security measures he added mandatory email verification on bustadice probably on Bustabit as well so no one can login without clicking the email send to the verified email when user tries to login from new device, hope this can save few people.
3704  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Almost lost all of my coins in an exchange last week on: February 05, 2021, 04:06:43 PM
I used google authenticator and sms verification too the phone that I am using doesn't have any apps just email and authenticator for me to prevent hacking.

That is a good idea.  If affordable, use a dedicated phone for Google Authenticator and the email.  The email address should be dedicated for investment accounts only.

I have a sim lock on my phone number so that it cannot be transferred to another devise unless I go to the store in person with valid IDs.

Dedicated email to register on exchanges right? But still the information can be leaked from exchange or sold by exchange itself since it happened in the past so use email in your primary mobile and the authenticator on separate mobile better consider using Authy which is better than Google Authenticator.
3705  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help a Newbie - Am I Understanding This Correctly? on: February 05, 2021, 02:15:32 PM
in binance it is possible to buy bitcoin with credit and debit card or with bank deposit (SEPA) I believe that these two options are available in Binance for people in the USA
In Binance US users can add debit card in their account as payment options and there is an official blog from Binance US itself but I don't see the credit card options, maybe it is not implemented yet.

Well they accepts ACH and wire transfer as well.

Trust wallet also supports DOT so if you are looking to store multiple cryptos in the same wallet then it can be one of the best option for you.

But if you are concerned about the security then create a wallet here : https://polkadot.js.org/apps/#/accounts
3707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The altcoin announcement forum, absolutely useless now on: February 04, 2021, 03:39:14 PM
Is there people who still investing on those shit projects? Huh

IEO and DEFI or something yet to come for future so serious projects may not waste their time with free promotions so once you find a project is legit then look for their ANN at bitcointalk, don't take the ANN too serious in 2021.
3708  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk-takers always ahead financially on: February 04, 2021, 02:31:16 PM
Life is all about taking risks and the same thing applies to getting money. You can't just fold your arms wishing you had money, the best way of being ahead is by getting started.
When opportunities that can lead to money arrive, many people out of fear, laziness and curiosity always doesn't grab them and they'll be waiting for someone to try so they can see the outcome, that doesn't make you smart it'll only delay or stop you from encountering your financial breakthrough.
You should cultivate the habit of being well-informed about the financial opportunities circulating around the globe so when you get the chance never allow fear, laziness or being too curious to stop you. money is not for the weak so be brave.
Someone who wants to be financially successful then they need to learn about the economics works because people keep working never going to become rich because they losing their salary by every year due to inflation so they actually need to stop saving money and start investing.
3709  Other / Meta / Re: Should all scam busting techniques be made public? on: February 04, 2021, 09:46:54 AM
First of all restricting newbies from scam accusation boards will do more harm than good because people who often trapped into scam attacks are newbies and real beginners who should be allowed to read and post on that section to avoid getting caught in the hand of scammers in the future. And investigation board have such restrictions so if we don't want to let the process known to others can be discussed there still it is not an convincing idea to me.
3710  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Balance not showing in Blockchain.com on: February 04, 2021, 07:25:06 AM
Currently the fastest fee is like about 3 dollars
This is the wrong way to talk about fees, especially when talking to someone who doesn't understand how fees work. First, we should obviously be talking about fees in terms of sats or BTC, since dollars is a constantly changing metric. Secondly, we need to talk about the fee rate, rather than the absolute fee. Given that 3 USD is currently around 8,000 sats, then for a 1-input-1-output transaction this could equal a fee of over 40 sats/vbyte. Conversely, for a big consolidation transaction with dozens of inputs, this fee might not even by high enough to meet the 1 sat/vbyte minimum for the transaction to be relayed. Talking about absolute fee is meaningless unless we are talking about a specific transaction of known size.
Normally we assume 1 input and 1 output transaction as an example that is why I said 3 dollars could be enough at that time I was writing.  But you are absolutely correct the fee should be always calculate based on the size of transaction which is irrespective to the amount we are transacting.
3711  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: txfee.org neat bitcoin fees estimator and tx checker on: February 03, 2021, 05:36:23 PM
~

Same issue and I think it fails to look up on the data on a real time txfees. A little code failure I guess that's why it doesn't change nor return any value.
The value loads up in the real time but If I kept that tab open for hours like above 10+ I can face such issues, but since when I opened the new tab the fee is getting updated with no issues and have to wait for another few hours to find it is still in the place!

EDIT: resolved
3712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What address sent me a payment? on: February 03, 2021, 03:22:13 PM
^If you just want to know the price of BTC at the time you bought/ received can be simply done with your current wallet's transaction details itself using the app you mentioned above. AFAIK, Electrum doesn't have buy option so you probably bought BTC from coinbase then later moved to Electrum.
3713  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: txfee.org neat bitcoin fees estimator and tx checker on: February 03, 2021, 11:16:59 AM
If not visible any value then refresh browser with ctrl+f5 best full refresh way
I am often facing the issue in the last two days, refresh doesn't work. I need to open new tab with the same link to get the value so issue is on my browser side?

Tried two different browser but still it is same!
3714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing the Bitcoin on: February 03, 2021, 09:20:07 AM
There are three typs of human;

1. Some People devoted to the Bitcoin
2. Some People are only interested when Bitcoin prices goes up
3. Some people are not interested and trust Bitcoin.

So we have to focus on 3th group to make them understand what is the philosophy behind Bitcoin. We have to introduce the  bitcoin and try to help them to understand, trust and use Bitcoin. people blongs to the 2nd group will never defend Bitcoin if they saw a price down.

This is a kind of war between conventional money and cryptocurrencies. I blieve that cryptos will never die.
We actually no need to introduce bitcoin to anyone, it will happen eventually once there is a need for it. Until now we can't actually use bitcoin as currency so what we need to focus now is to create more opportunities to spend bitcoin then we can introduce people into it.

There are some people who hate bitcoins as well.!
3715  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Balance not showing in Blockchain.com on: February 03, 2021, 06:48:53 AM
I got all my coins there I have to even if I have to spend $15 for $110 worth of Bitcoin, I have been using blockchain.com but I need money at the moment I still trust Blockchain.com but having to transfer when you need it, and this bug happens is a big concern, I am now using Exodus wallet I'm using both but between the two Exodus has not given me this kind of concern, well not yet.
Better use electrum to receive such small inputs so you can consolidate them when the fees are in single digit sat/byte so later you can make faster transaction at the cheaper fee using the mempool feature. Currently the fastest fee is like about 3 dollars so paying more all the time you want to withdraw your bitcoin is not a wise choice, so move to a wallet which gives complete access to your funds.
3716  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bisq exchange 100$ Warning on: February 02, 2021, 04:58:20 PM
The same old trick now applied to the crypto field as well, hmmmmm....

Have you ever received any messages from your contacts like click this for a surprise new year gift or amazon special offer deal can be availed with this links are just contains spyware which will be installed once we clicked that link or downloaded.

Even if someone didn't fell after receiving such messages but their system is at the rick of getting compromised because in my personal experience it happened even when I am always aware of such tricks.
3717  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING Do Not use GMAIL for Exchange email on: February 02, 2021, 02:43:30 PM

Yeah, i have Yubikey on email now.     There is zero explanation why people got locked out, they just did.

The Point is. Its impossible to get back into Gmail once you are locked out.
The links are useless as you end up stuck in a loop where Gmail says they cant verify its you and so on.

These are the countless posts im seeing from people and i now know this from personal experience. Gmail think, "just make another one" Which is all fine and well unless you need your email to log into exchanges.   Cry Undecided

You opted for highest security with yubikey like gadgets but made mistake with logging in with wrong email, never trust google products for anything with your money is my recommendation for anyone in the future.

I never used Yubikey like authentication keys for accessing so not having much knowledge about it but if you added any recovery methods in the past then it is easier to recover right?
3718  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING Do Not use GMAIL for Exchange email on: February 02, 2021, 11:43:52 AM
I am also having my Gmail on my Android for half a decade now and I never faced any such issues with it?

I am having recovery email and verified mobile number which is not the case with you?

You will not be facing any issues when you are having 2FA via authentication apps instead of OTPs to your email or phone number so how exactly people got locked due to Gmail issue?
3719  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sort of a Newbie - Questions I should have asked on: February 02, 2021, 09:00:26 AM

If he is looking a way to freeze his money or just stop from trading at all then converting/liquidating it to fiat is the only option and not to some kind of stable coin because in his scenario we don't even know if stable coins will also be vulnerable is some kind of decline. Aside from that @OP if you are planning on freezing your fund you better take it out from an exchange because it is more safe for your money lying around in a bank rather than an exchange.
It seems OP wants to HOLD the profits or actual portfolio value at the time of DUMP so it is not going to be a long term HODL for sure in that case a truly decentralized crypto like DAI which is actually backed by ethereum smart contracts unlike other fiat backed stable currency so it can be an alternative to converting into fiat because converting to fiat instantly is not actually possible but to a stable coin can be so he can later convert that stable coin into fiat can give more profits than direct fiat conversion.
3720  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: txfee.org neat bitcoin fees estimator and tx checker on: February 02, 2021, 06:52:57 AM

Thanks for your response and i see that. the 6 hours and 12 hours is for sat/byte -> legacy transactions not segwit but i didnt bothered to change.
it happens sometime where there is very low fee. also  only   fastest, 30 min and 1 hour is real-time Smiley

Still the numbers are 5x higher than the actual fastest fee, even if the address is legacy still it will be included into the next block when they pay the higher fees (if I am not wrong). So anyone who visit your site may assume there is wrong details provided there so better remove 6hour part or add the optimal source for it.
