3701  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Safest wallet and method to sweep a paper wallet on: February 19, 2021, 05:41:52 PM
Thank you,
Yes, I was considering Electrum, only downside is that when creating a wallet, seed creation is exposed to screen loggers & no machine is 100% secure.

It's true, if you can't secure your device, seeds, and private keys then no machine is secure. Even on Electrum, there was a hack attempt a few months back. If you are wondering to handle a big amount then it's strongly advisable to move into a hardware wallet. You can use Electrum with 2FA but you need to spend a few extra fees. I wouldn't recommend paper wallets for various reasons especially change address issues. Keep in mind, you have to secure your device and wallet credentials to secure your funds.
3702  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Aes.json wallet and forgot password? on: February 19, 2021, 05:26:19 PM
I think the file was encrypted with a password. Your wallet password and JSON file password aren't the same. You may try brute force but it's quite complicated to creak a password if you don't any clue. If wallet, wallet id, and registered email still under control you then there is hope, but too complex if you don't have the clue. So just try yourself by watching tutorials from YouTube (just find a trusted source, don't follow scammers). Anyway you can try what malevolent said.

Besides that, perhaps many scammers would PM you to recover the wallet. Just avoid any private discussion, ask them to discuss on this thread.
3703  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it really a benefit that nobody controls the price? on: February 19, 2021, 04:05:47 PM
I can't recall the platform but I have seen that they are accepting bitcoin through an exchange to avoid volatility. This means when Bitcoin sent to the platform Bitcoin will receive on the exchange and convert it to fiat. So the platform owner's fund will not affect due to volatility, on the other hand, users are able to pay via Bitcoin. If you are worried about volatility and want to accept Bitcoin as well, most likely you would seek such features. Otherwise only stable coin options are available to accept cryptocurrencies.

Your thoughts make stable Bitcoin via exchange wouldn't happen ever. Because then the crypto game will end. Peoples can't buy that amount they want, can't sell they want, means they will be bounded with the limitation which is against the decentralized ecosystem. You are just talking to kill the decentralized crypto industry and financial freedom.
3704  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did people buy bitcoin and other cryptos back in the old days? on: February 19, 2021, 06:41:08 AM
Like around 2011 to 2015? Before it became available on major exchanges?
I think until 2015 there was already a major exchange that started the business. See the list of exchange when they come on the market. Even a few crypto exchanges were founded in 2011. Before that Bitcoin mostly traded peer to peer, because there wasn't another way to gain Bitcoin except mining. Bitcoin wasn't much popular back in 2011, there weren't many propels to buy it as well. And not much altcoin was there. When altcoin started development then slowly exchange is coming as well. Think simply, no demand means no opportunity to exchange. When demand increasing exchanges increasing as well.
3705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think the price of BNB will go above $ 300? on: February 18, 2021, 06:26:37 PM
We know everything is possible in crypto. And BNB directly manipulating by Binance. So hitting $300 for BNB just a matter of time if Bitcoin holds current resistance. On the other hand, Binance expanding uses of BNB by BNB blockchain. Many platforms moving on the Binance chain and I think it will increase day by day to get Binance support. Besides that Binance somehow will try to keep up their coins. I am wondering even it would touch $3K near future although I do not hold it. Now it's hard to believe other coins except Bitcoin for me due to loss by my past mistakes.
3706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if the major holders of bitcoin all decided to sell it all? on: February 18, 2021, 05:45:37 PM
Keep in mind, when massive sales happen then Bitcoin prices drop automatically if there are not enough buyers to buy it. It's a pretty simple calculation on the crypto industry. If all the big holders attempt to sell their Bitcoin at a time and there are not enough buyers then Bitcoin price would fall for a certain period. But if we can imagine that then we should Imagine there would buyers as well. Because many institutional buyers would attempt to buy it which would lead to a stable price.
3707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Elon Musk's dispute with a cryptocurrency wallet on: February 18, 2021, 05:31:06 PM
If I were in his place, I would ask Freewallet to send 100K dogecoins to me and I would write good words about them or write bad ones.
or I would choose a reputable wallet like trustwallet.
I am not criticizing you, but most probably that's why you weren't Elon Musk. This is one kind of threat or blackmail. The funds are of Elon Musk, he shouldn't threaten to withdraw it. He has the right to move his funds any time, but since Freewallet makes trouble then Elon did the right thing by creating a public post. On the other hand, he had spreads the word that why a custodial wallet shouldn't use to hold your assets. Instead of asking them privately, Elon made it public, so all the crypto users are now aware of the Freewallet's shady behavior.
3708  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com experiences on: February 18, 2021, 05:20:11 PM
The worst Bitcoin Buying system ever I have seen on the Blockchain wallet. Although likely they will not scam you but they will harass you definitely. By the, I think you got answers why your fund isn't movable. But seems your wallet is not synchronized very well and that's why many features aren't visible there. Are you sure your internet connection is good or your browser is up to date? It shouldn't happen. I can't understand why other wallets synchronized well and only problems with the wallet that you bought Bitcoin. Any just try to contact support although their support system is worst ad well. Just avoid blockchain to buy Bitcoin and look for some other reliable exchange that isn't too complex.

3710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After Tesla, others began to pay attention to Bitcoin. Is this the future trend on: February 17, 2021, 06:11:57 PM
Worlds moving trend toward digitalization, so I believe accepting and supoorting Bitcoin is a trend. Tesla is already involved with Bitcoin. So now other big companies would take advantage of Bitcoin and they are involving with it day by day. Stuck with the old system wouldn't be a business policy. So, go with the trend would be the right decision. When big companies will start involved with Bitcoin then more will start to follow them. As a result, we will see more instinctual investors and supporters as well.

Microsoft does not yet plan to join this game.
It's a matter of time.
3711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Elon Musk's dispute with a cryptocurrency wallet on: February 17, 2021, 05:26:11 PM
If you see deeply both are win-win situations. Elon Musk tries to express his opinion about the disadvantage of a custodial wallet. On the other hand, Freewallet trying to convince the community that they locked the account due to security reasons. As a custodial wallet, it's their responsibility to secure their user's funds, either he is a multi-billionaire or a normal user. That's why they locked the account to make sure the original owner wan to withdraw his funds. But for me, Freewallet could contact via different ways instead of lock account. It doesn't necessary to lock the account to verify the real person.
3712  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: looking for recovery/unlock service for the scam company localbitcoins.com on: February 17, 2021, 05:04:33 PM
Warning: You just inviting scammers by creating this post. Because many scammers would PM you to help unlock your Localbitcoin account. Usually, they will try to get your account credentials from you. So, be careful if you receive such as PMs, just ask them to come on this thread and discuss publicly. Do not handover your account credentials to others for any cost.

Regarding unlock your Localbitcoin account, only an authorized person from their platform would help you. Just try to convince them via a support system. Otherwise, anyone wouldn't help you in this situation. Sorry to say, anyone shouldn't keep their funds on such an exchange. Keep your funds on a noncustodial wallet or on a hardware wallet to avoid such issues in the future.
3713  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sportsbet.io scammed me $8080 on: February 16, 2021, 01:20:44 AM
Quick Update:
In regards to the 8,000 confiscated from the customer.. yes Coolcryptovator, this is exactly what is happening, I need to look at all the evidence enough to overturn my own company's decision basically. A few other things have popped up and all of a sudden its monday.
Good to hear from you. I have to admit it's quite a lengthy process to review an account for second times where need verify all the evidence provided by OP. It is better to know that my assumptions were true which would lead to a positive outcome for OP. Don't be scared of the personal attack by the Adkinsbet army. The community will never support anyone who will abuse the forum system and advertise their own platform by attacking someone else wouldn't be a good practice. But a constructive discussion on the topic should be appreciated as well.

Since Steve already connected OP via PM so I think OP should stay calm and wait for a final decision.
3714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking For Best Self Hosted Crypto Wallet on: February 15, 2021, 06:10:12 PM
Trezor or paper wallet with more than one backups is enough.
I do not recommend a paper wallet. OP is asking for a wallet that will support multiple currencies, not only Bitcoin or Ethereum.

I am curious to know what misinformation about Ledger? The only thing that happened with the Ledger website is a data leak. It doesn't relate to the Ledger device, so the device still secure. I have been using Ledger for a long time and hadn't faced any issue yet. Database of Ledger website wouldn't harm you, because wallet seed wouldn't be pre-generated. This means no one has access to your Ledger wallet. For more security, create a seed for the first time after receiving the device and reset it by entering the wrong password 3 times. Then create another seed and write it in a safe place. So, there is no doubt that the seed was pre-generated. Any wallet wouldn't save your assets if you can't save the wallet credential. This means you have to stay away from a possible attack like phishing websites. Always try to verify any updates from the official websites. Keep in mind, you should need to buy a hardware wallet from the official site/store.
3715  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Email extortion/blackmail for Bitcoin. on: February 15, 2021, 04:42:18 PM
It will be more believable if he sends part of the video or a photo that you haven't taken.
Usually, they can't do it. Because this is just a fake threat, they don't have anything. Basically, they assumed that most of the crypto users visit the porno site, that's why scammers are telling you that he/she has injected a virus from there. So those who have been visiting porno sites would be afraid and believe in the story. And eventually, newbies would attempt to send bitcoin. Most probably scammer generates term one-time mail, so they wouldn't be traced. Replying to them wouldn't help you, ignoring is the best way to avoid any unexpected issue.
3716  Economy / Reputation / Re: The AdkinsBET Army of Alts on: February 15, 2021, 04:25:30 PM
Yea, I noticed this group of army from the scam accusation board. They are attacking a few casino/betting sites. They just didn't stop by spamming there. They are trying to scam newbies as well, contacting newbies victims via forum PM to solve the problem. But they aren't authorized to solve any issue related to that accusation. Seems most of them received negative feedback, and I believe it's appropriate based on their current behavior. I am pretty sure all accounts had changed hands or bought.
3717  Economy / Scam Accusations / Emotional scam attempt. on: February 15, 2021, 06:20:46 AM
The title is something new, I don't know if you are aware of this type of scam. But I experienced it for the first time although I think it isn't a new technic.

A few days back I have received a PM on Telegram to help him. He referred me to a Bitcoin thread where an exchange locked his account with funds. I told him we are unable to help with this because the only exchange that would help you, exchange already tagged by forum DT members. We can't do anything except tagging them. But the use continues to asking help. In the end, I discover he is asking for financial help.

So, what you think? Isn't that an emotional scam attempt? Will you just help a newbie who created a scam accusation against an exchange? How we would know if really he is a victim? Who knows if that user also PM others for help?

I hadn't revealed his username and didn't tag him because I let him get the benefits of my suspension. It would possible he is a real victim and he needs financial help. But my common sense indicating that is an emotional scam attempt. I will suggest just avoid such situations because we are unaware of the real scene behind the story.
3718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin did you make the most money from? on: February 14, 2021, 07:15:07 PM
For me, it's Bitcoin. Honestly whatever I made a profit it's from Bitcoin. When I moved from Bitcoin to altcoins then I had lost my portfolio. Doesn't mean I didn't play with other coins nor make a profit but Bitcoin was best for me. It was a long time I was far from trading since Bitcoin rasing very well, I have been trying to play with it. And had made some profits from Bitcoin as well.
3719  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: "BTC giveaway" scamming sites get mind boggling BTC inflows... on: February 14, 2021, 05:42:36 PM
It's very difficult to control our greed when we see a greedy offer. Scammer already received a huge amount of bitcoin, that means there is a lot of greedy peoples those fall into this trap. It's not surprising to me, because many newbies entering Bitcoin nowadays and they aren't aware of such scams. The warning about such as scam would find only a few websites or forums like Bitcointalk. Most probably newbies would learn nothing is free on the world and how they become a fool.

Anyway, increasing awareness somehow helping propels. Because this thread is reflected on Google as well. So, in case someone search on Google before sending bitcoin then they would discover this thread and save their money. The problem is scammers continuously scanning their domain names.
3720  Other / Meta / Re: Changing email for Bitcointalk account? on: February 14, 2021, 05:30:18 PM
When we flag an account for ownership change? Just because of change email and password? No, I don't think so. When there will a few suspicious activities and changed email and password then we flag an account. For example, changing posting behavior, change posting of local boards, etc. Simply change the email password doesn't mean the account has changed hand. I have changed my email address due to security issues, can't remember if changed the password as well.

Anyways, this post and sign message is enough to prove ownership. So don't worry and go ahead. For those who want to change email passwords and if you have fear to get a tag, then it's better to create a post on reputation about change password & email and lock the thread. It should be done before changing the password and email including sign a message from your Bitcoin address. If there is an existing signed message then it's fine, but you can add a new sign on the same topic you are going to change password and email from the same address.
