Despite the asinine comments, I did upgrade the wallet. Now it's synching at an acceptable rate. We'll see where it goes. Thanks to The Real Steve for being nice, and trying to be helpful Cheesy

Of course you upgraded it but you need to learn to give credit and respect to people who helped you regardless of the way they have chosen to help you.

wallet link is not workin for the initial sync one.  I have the other one w/o the gradiant, the qt only, but when I launch it fusses about missing files.

me too Cry

1. Download and unpack https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0M-bp2HC0eYYWprYXNYNl90aEE somewhere on your HDD
2. Download https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6FbZoRgtIW2SHFpUlNIMlVpLVk to the same folder you used in step 1. (overwrite old file)

In other words, download in step 2. is not complete installation, it is just non-gradient version of tekcoin-qt.exe file so of course it needs
other files to work properly.

Do not forget to upgrade OpenSSL to version that fixes Heartbleed bug. And please get rid off custom font. And please make it so window
size and location are saved.

Only one pool is finding blocks, and the wallet moves slower than a glacier.
Well, that's not true - there's 4 major pools, with 1gh clearly being the biggest;
(click for large)

Were you going to mine with the client, though?  I'd imagine the external miners would be more efficient - and you wouldn't have to worry about how far the client has synced.

I mined at 1GH. Tried several others. I was using a rental. I generated an address with the client for payout. I shut it off after about 9 hours of it jacking up my bandwidth to download something like 100 blocks.

If there isn't a blockchain download, then I'm just out 27 coins. If the client is this slow to sync, after just a few months, then I can't see any reason why I would mine it again. It's profitablity is highly variable. It could easily become valueless before the client syncs. I should have known when the official website was not available, and I had to search the internet like crazy to find a viable download.

Lesson learned.

The truth is you are the one of many who are jacking up others' bandwidth with your outdated Maxcoin wallets. Fucking morons. How
about bookmarking Maxcoin GitHub and then occassionaly do a check to see if there is a new, updated wallet posted there?

3705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: March 25, 2014, 01:20:25 AM
MaxCoin has been updated to reduce the total coin supply and the current block reward, this was requested by a large number of our users and has been implemented at their request. The hard fork will take effect from block 140000, this Thursday evening. Please ensure your wallet is updated by this time.

The new specifications are as follows:

BTC 48 MAX per block
BTC A total of ~100,000,000 coins

The updated wallets, v0.9.0, are available via GitHub or the MaxCoin website.

Mining maxcoin is somewhat more profitable as compared to mining VTC (due to the lower electricity cost for SHA-3).
This does not only change that for the worse, but also makes it look like some ponzi scheme as in: Mine early, hold your coins, when we're not satisfied with the current market pice + our wallet is full of coins we will alter the parameters of the coin to drive the prize up.
Pathetic...

The thing is nothing really important changed, price went up short-term to compensate for less coins to be mined in the future and that's it. Majority
of miners are still at 1gh pool allowing them to 51% attack MAX at any moment or at least earn the highest mining fee in the sector. Nothing of any
real importance is added to Maxcoin yet. To reduce coin generation is a minute job and it actualy helped just insiders and lucky traders, those who
started buying MAX at 0.0003 BTC or less. "A total of ~100,000,000" is also major bullshit, value must be specified exactly in the code at some point.
There is no ~ in programming languages. If devs can't do the math and come up with exact number of total coins than they better ask for help, to
post shits like that one is far from serious business. Around 100M coins could easily mean 90M or 110M, values which affect coin valuation big time.

But the real proof of MAX actualy being shit is 1gh still having over 51% hashrate and price not dropping more and faster. Try the same with Bitcoin
or Litecoin, where majority and major investors actualy understand what 51% attack means.

je li ko proba GPU miner for DarkCoin, QubitCoin, MyriadCoin, Quark, Fuguecoin, INKcoin  AnimeCoin
da se manje struje troši itd itd.
a ono najbitnije da je veča zarada nemogu pronači nikakav kalkulator
Napisa san sta se isplati i koliko struje, a ti ne virujes.

evo pogledaj malo ovdje

https://cointweak.com/calculator/index/scrypt

Mlatis pare i sjebes difficulty a onda isporucis robu!

I hear what you say suSTRATA about stakes but is 40% the actual % rate of stake you get a month or is it a figure? i read it was modified by the difficulty of stake and by the number of people minting at the same time, how much can that drop?

I'm about to buy some, just waiting to see if price stays at 9000 satoshis or drops a bit...we'll see

23 mined PoS blocks all returned over 40% TEK. I don't know about % being affected by PoS difficulty (not all PoS coins use that math) but looking

All altcoins where huge premine (or part of it) is supposed to be airdropped, sent to people living in some country or any similar story are 100% scam
and the only way those scams could be reduced here (forum owner don't give a shit) is by "killing" people starting them over trust rating, check below.
Anyone with few negative trust ratings will most likely be ignored even by very dumb people especially if he is asking for money or offering downloads.

Imagine Bin Laden is still around.

We find out his Bitcoin address. It contains 10,000 Bitcoins and we can see transactions entering it.

We then see outgoings, some of which are traced to weapons used to kill 1000s of Americans, think a major bomb or subway incident.

What do you think is going to happen? Media outrage and congressional outrage. "We must ban this worldwide!". It's exactly what will happen. Bitcoin being so public is a double-edged sword.

I guess you would not have a problem with let's say Americans BTC funding radicals in some country with the goal to overthrow legit government.

The status quo isn't going to work.

Sure it will.

We should change the core devolopers of bitcoin, we can just do it.

In Bitcoin, miners are God. Do not waste time on wrong people.

3. walletpassphrase pwd 9999999 true (in case wallet is encrypted and locked).

Huh

One question: where do you put/enter this variable? Thanks.

Help menu > Debug window > Console tab then find input box at the bottom.

I'am considering buying some but honestly price drop is a bit scary right now

You buy 100 TEK at 0.00015 BTC (0.015 BTC total). After 1 month price drops by 30% down to 0.000105 BTC but you will have around 144 TEK so

144 * 0.000105 = 0.01512 BTC

1. Buy TEK
2. HOLD and stake it!
3.  Huh
4. Profit!

How many TEKcoins are there in existence right now?

I'd like to know that as well, ABE blockchain explorer anyone? Maybe we should offer a bounty for it?
3717  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin section is out of control, expect even more bullshits on: March 20, 2014, 07:17:53 PM
We do believe many of the coins has been having a great succes and that is why a few has took a place on our exchange.

They are success for you because you made a killing on trade fees, nothing more. All in all, exchanges are cancer of cryptocoin scene so fuck off.

Fuck off also goes to moderator who moved this thread to Meta from Bitcoin Discussion. Let's hide from Bitcoiners info about potential threat, right?
3718  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin section is out of control, expect even more bullshits on: March 20, 2014, 07:01:00 PM
I believe deleting the section is too radical. After all, this is the forum where the crypto adventure started being discussed, and the existence of alts is a further step of de-centralization, and so is Asic resistance, concentration on less hands and plan B just in case Bitcoin is destroyed by external forces.

Exactly but the major issue right now is someone new to cryptocoins browsing altcoin section will most likely miss altcoins that add something new to
scene and thus can serve as a backup in case Bitcoin goes down. Altcoins that are actualy useful and differ enough from Bitcoin to be considered good
other options, like Primecoin and similar ones which offer different algos or some other extras are nowhere to be found, they are spammed out to 2nd
and further pages in a matter of minutes by hundreds of shitcoins where nothing of any importance is changed vs Bitcoin or Litecoin. I have spoken
recently with few Bitcoiners who live in my area and not one of them likes what is happening on this forum and scene in general. Majority opinion on
the matter is that besides obvious threats to newcomers (scams, IPOs and so on) some other threats could be behind all that, like intentional attempts
to divide and conquer by spreading total hashrate over thousands of cryptocoins thus removing some hashrate from major cryptocoins. While Bitcoin
is probably out of reach, Litecoin, Primecoin and similar useful altcoins are seeing either drops in hashrate or little new hashrate added compared to
all new hashing hardware added. Bitcoin is also affected, maybe not PHashes less for it but certainly over few % less right now but the point is if new
altcoins are not put under more control some of it might actualy take considerable amount of hashrate from Bitcoin. You should not underestimate the
possible impact of shills, multi-accounts and propaganda. Just like recently pitched shitcoin Aurora took considerable hashrate from Litecoin, something
that also happened earlier with Dogecoin, that same way a new SHA altcoin could emerge and affect Bitcoin. It obviously makes no difference if story
behind some new altcoin makes sense or not, if it is pitched the right way it will negatively affect hashrate of existing cryptocoins, Bitcoin included.

Altcoin sections should stay but random newbies should not be able to create threads and post links to wallets. Any and all clone and shitcoins should
be removed. There are over 400 of them right now and unless something is done there will be 1000 and more. Not an issue? Do nothing and wait but
make sure you are always ready to dump your BTC, LTC and other major altcoins, if major hashrate drop happens you will not be able to move your
coins to exchanges fast enough to cash-out before price is 0.

Also to take into consideration is an impact on Bitcoin price from all miners who are mining altcoins. Can they pay electricity in DOGE, AUR or some
newer altcoin? No, they must sell those for BTC or LTC and then sell BTC or LTC for fiat. Bitcoin is getting a noticable hit there, much more than LTC.
3719  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin section is out of control, expect even more bullshits on: March 20, 2014, 03:13:43 AM
Yeah! Damn those fuckin' kids, thinkin' they could post Alt Coins in the Alt Cryptocurrency section!

Ain't they fuckin' bright to realize what that section 'fore?

Why don't you send some coins to guy who started the thread linked above and then tell us later how it all ended up? You sure sound like perfect
victim ... I mean smart investor!

The alt coin section is good but it needs more subforums to guide the spam giveaways and what not.

What you posted proves you have no clue about situation. Giveaways were forbbiden and highly moderated for over a month now. Stay ignorant?
3720  Other / Meta / Altcoin section is out of control, expect even more bullshits on: March 20, 2014, 03:04:50 AM
Is there anyone who could persuade theymos to finaly increase threshold for creating threads and posting at altcoin section? The situation there is
completely out of control, there are multiple scam attempts posted every day, promoted by dozen or an army of multi-accounts. Altcoins where some
wannabe developer just changed logo, few variables and added quite often completely dumb story are daily occurence. Think about number of daily
downloads of suspicious software (wallets). Think about number of bullshits and scams there, they are all over the place and will be used to attack
cryptocoin scene sooner or later. New members are constantly lured into some scams or get-rich-quick schemes and some of them openly attack or
speak negatively of Bitcoin, on bitcointalk forum! Do you people who have your head into Bitcoin only really think no damage will come from all that
chaos over there at altcoin section?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=522956.0

Check it out, it is one of threads where few people and myself got enough and openly called out the scam. Just look at all those multi-accounts and
attempts to create investment histeria, to lure new members into sending money. Do you have any idea how many similar threads pop-up per week?
I think most of you are clueless but that will not make you resistant to shits that will surely come out of current situation. You may stay ignorant and
waste time on Bitcoin situation only but keep in mind once situation goes bad due to your ignorance it will hurt so much more than MtGox or whatever
other topics you are mostly into. I strongly suggest you to put 1 hour per day into altcoin section, you might start realising what this forum became
lately and what new attack vectors you should start taking into consideration. Angry mob who got scammed around here is so much worse enemy
than governments, banks and hackers. No amount of media brainwashing will make people buy again into cryptocoins after they were robbed here
possibly multiple times so allowance to rob or attempt to rob for practically no costs should be reconsidered.
