3701  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin losing its purpose? on: August 12, 2021, 11:45:05 PM
Do you mean OP that we are losing the purpose of being anonymous due to the KYC system implemented by some banks and exchanges?
Personally, we're still not but can't disclose any possibility of losing it in the future. As long as you can still make use of it and do the transfer without any KYC verification, you are still there. But the moment that you are using a third party and pass the KYC, you will no longer enjoy the anonymity that you've wanted.

Well, they have some purpose as well and I understand that. But of course, you can also understand that not all will stay forever, like losing our anonymity is an example. But still, I'm in trust with Bitcoin and also those who ask for my personal information, so it was not a big deal for me.
3702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you make your HODL or dump decisions? on: August 12, 2021, 01:15:14 PM

It's hard to make a HOLD or dump decision. if you are not sure about the prospects for the SUBX token, you better sell it now if it is still profitable for you. you have to be realistic and do your own research and don't be swayed by the sweet promises they offer if in reality it doesn't turn out as expected. you need to know that tokens that do not have strong fundamentals are difficult to survive and their prices continue to decline.
That is certainly hard if you don't know the background of the project but that seems not an excuse as in the first place, we have to a search before investing. It is very important for us to know the capability of the project, otherwise, we are just blindly buying the project. Apparently, this was a common scenario that we have seen around.

To HOLD and to SELL, that actually depends on the potentiality of the token/coin. And we should not hesitate to sell if we are doubted on the project, better to secure our funds rather than to regret later.
3703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hoard Bitcoin? on: August 12, 2021, 08:55:26 AM

Although people can pay in any way, will Bitcoin be your first choice?

If it is only applicable in our country, I supposed to pay with Bitcoin of course.
I really don't think hoarding is a must when we are considering Bitcoin as a form of currency. This is what makes the adoption so slow because instead of encouraging people to use Bitcoin and able for the merchants and business owners to accept Bitcoin the more we are encouraged to hold.

I could say this will only drive Bitcoin far from what we aim for as a currency.
3704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum @4k on: August 12, 2021, 06:26:03 AM
If you look at current market conditions, the stability level of ethereum is very likely to provide the best surprise in the future, this is comparable to what ethereum has achieved today, ethereum's momentum is currently above $3k.

It is more rational if you expect the price of ethereum to rise at $4k, overall cryptocurrency market conditions are normal and tend to be bull run, this greatly affects the current level of market stability, the possibility of an increase in ethereum above $4k is very large.
$3.2K current price. The graph improvement seems to be continuing. This is a rare opportunity on Ethereum. I can say this month the increase in the price of Ethereum lasts a long time.
However, above $4K I don't think it will happen.
If it sticks to the current momentum, early next month it seems possible to reach. But we can't be sure of anything in the coming days that will go so good and full of positivity because of the fact that FUDs are still around we can never the chance for an unexpected drop in the price due to panic selling.

But despite the uncontrollable events around, there is a need to keep our faith intact and never have to lose no matter how many FUDs created. If ever we can't make reach the $4k price target but never I think it drops below $2k.
3705  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I start trading? on: August 11, 2021, 11:49:37 PM
What I would do if I were new to crypto trading:
- Read a few books on the subject (good quality books)
- Read and not ask questions first (the forum is full of various topics)
- Ask myself questions: like why is Bitcoin so popular? why most of the money is going into it? Why institutions prefer Bitcoin, etc.
- I would not put any significant capital in something I don't understand.

Hope this will give you a bit of inspiration. Smiley
That probably inspiring and not only that, it is a must.

Generally, we have to invest first in learning things that could help us to clearly understand the world of crypto as this was totally different for the stock market. We don't have to jump on the boat not knowing where it goes, the same thing that we have to apply in here. This is some reason why many traders had to fail because of the lack of preparation and they just underestimate the market.

@OP, just to remind you that trading isn't a joke nor you can think about easy money as this needs patience and focus. These are the things need for you to succeed.
3706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casimero vs Rigondeaux this August 14, 2021 on: August 11, 2021, 10:20:38 PM

For those who had been eyeing for Casimero then having him in underdog would really be an advantage since odds were really that considerable for you to place some bucks on.
Odd is already available and Casimero is not the underdog here but instead they gave him as favorite, if you read some post above harizen already shared the available odd inside stake and it's only 1.44 for  casimero while  2.75for Rigo.

I like Casimero, but I'm gonna take this opportunity to bet against him, 2.75 odds are hard to resist, hey! this is Rigondeaux, the one who bet Donaire and other champions before, with only 1 lose, so I know it's worth taking the risk.
3707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: August 11, 2021, 10:00:51 PM
I'm disappointed because my bet was cancelled, I can't anymore bet on Pacquiao as an underdog as the current odds against Ugas, he is a heavy favorites.

Odds in sportsbet

Manny Pacquiao 1.26
Yordenis Ugas 3.45

Also, the title thread should be changed now to Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas. I feel you. Since Pacquiao is the favorite on this match, the odds are quite low which is not very favorable to those who want to bet on him. But anyway, if you are really rooting for Pac, just bet any amount you feel comfortable of. Still betting on Pac even at low odds. Hope he can finish the fight early with TKO.

If there are TKO odds, it would be nice but currently, there are only limited odds, the money line is only present, no other odds at all, probably sportsbook are currently preparing the odds as they themselves did not see this coming too.
3708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum pump on: August 11, 2021, 02:35:44 PM

I do not see the movement of ETH as a big pump, I see it as an eventual movement that has been executed successfully thanks to the bullish rally of BTC, if BTC continues to rise it is obvious that ETH will also rise, it will rise by a much higher percentage than BTC , this is what many are waiting for to happen, that is why those who bought in the dip are making big  profits.

Indeed, right. The same thing that I saw. Maybe it is just to happens that the people are focus on the ETH hard fork and believing this was the reason for its current highs but neglecting to see Bitcoin's movement which is also in the rally. That certain people are overacting the situation and then thinking for another ATH which I think wasn't impossible if the current momentum will continue.

Anyway, back to some presumptions that ETH is bullish again and runs independently. I think we have to wait for what will happen if Bitcoin will drop. That is the only way to find out if this is true and the hard fork is the cause of this surge.
3709  Economy / Speculation / Re: People are panic buying right now! on: August 11, 2021, 09:29:59 AM
Then we're going to see $100k. Roll Eyes
But honestly, this is just another typical day for bitcoin that we're seeing. People are only buying when bitcoin is going up but when it's down, many of them don't feel that they should buy at that price because they think of the negative side. In result, they're in fomo and feel that there's a need to rush but the best strategy is to feel that every single price increase, you're part of it and when it's down, you knew what you have to do.

it has become the behavior of those who have a panicked soul. when the price starts to rise rush to buy and when the price fluctuates a little immediately panic again rush to sell again. they belong to the category of amateurs in the investment business and people do not dare to take risks in investing.
The real traders and investors won't have such a kind of mindset that is why they mostly succeed and are in profit. They keep themselves calm and acted seriously.

Emotions are a great enemy that is hard to control, like panicking is mostly what we feel especially when we don't have trust in crypto and ourselves. Might these buyers are in a panic to miss the train but I'm going to feel how fast they will sell when the price will start to dump.
3710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin in the highest level of trust? on: August 11, 2021, 08:56:13 AM
I think only people who make money on the internet believe in bitcoin (Some People), the popularity level of Bitcoin increases when big investors enter the Crypto world so that ordinary people who don't know Blockchain also invest in Bitcoin. But I firmly believe that Bitcoin is a valuable asset besides fast transactions, its security is unquestionable and maybe in the future everyone will also feel the benefits of blockchain technology.

It is indeed internet users who are starting to trust Bitcoin, because Bitcoin can be used if there is internet access. Bitcoin is getting more and more
popular after some people who own Bitcoin get profit from Bitcoin. And the peak after big companies and rich people decided to invest in Bitcoin
made the price of Bitcoin more expensive. Finally made many people see Bitcoin as a promising asset, and thanks to promotions by influencers,
Bitcoin is finally getting to be known to many people. That's what finally until now makes Bitcoin's level of trust even higher.
Some did the profit and also many had suffered losses because of their actions. People had come and invested in crypto not only they are in considering the trust level but obviously, they just come for money and a sort of curiosity. And you know what? The majority of these investors will be in a panic once the market showing a decline and they just often sell. This will have to tell us that these people aren't giving such trust in Bitcoin but still in doubt.

3711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: casino chat moderator on: August 10, 2021, 09:19:02 PM
I guess you start with familiarizing the platform yet of your target casino, I'm sure there's a big competition in this kind of job but if you are ahead of them are you are really eager, you might still land a job. Go with the start up casino as they don't might expand and you'll be hired.

check-in the services (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0), they usually post an announcement there.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Errol Spence Jr. forced to withdraw from fight with Manny Pacquiao due to a retinal tear in his left eye 🚨

Yordenis Ugas will step up to replace Spence and will defend his WBA title against Pacquiao on August 21

Still a big fight for Manny though, retinal teal would probably take a lot of time to recover, so hopefully we can still see a fight this coming August 21.
The fun will continue.
3713  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is this a good divide? thanks on: August 10, 2021, 02:35:44 PM
i was thinking %35 bitcoin, %25 eth, %15 cardano, %15 ravecoin, %10 alt coins just for the fun of it lol.

does this make sense?

keep in mind im 15 and dont got that much money lol
If do you believe that these coins could give you decent returns, then do it. Of course, some don't agree with you as they also have different coins to choose but I've noticed that you only invested only a few percentages on Bitcoin, I think you have to diversify it and put more funds on the valuable coins as you are aiming for long-term investment.

I understand that you are still young and that is a need for someone who can give some advice when talking about investment management. May you consider the suggestions in here but of course, the final decision is yours.
3714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do whales manipulate the market? on: August 10, 2021, 02:02:55 PM
Yeah, they are those who manipulated the market, they can easily dump and pump the market because they ar holding huge amounts of coins. So you should not be FOMO because of what whales are doing, if they dump it then just and hold and never sell yours because you won't lose money if you will still hold your coin because if it results in panic selling then that would be a good entry for the whales then the market will get hard to reach the moon.
it's actually not that easy. the whales in the market are also waiting for a good moment to start their market manipulation. sometimes they work with influencers or they themselves actually provide the signal in their channel group.
although whales with huge money, they also need a lot of followers to be able to generate some sentiment in the market.
I think there is no need for them to have a number of followers as these whales can manipulate the market if they want. Well, that timing might be a need for them and sometimes they take advantage of the FUDs and started to manipulate the mind of the people. But I doubted that they always succeed, maybe they also suffer losses just like us. However, if we think the risk that they are doing, I can say that they are taking more than for us a causal investors and traders.
3715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: some people uneducate about Bitcoins on: August 09, 2021, 11:48:38 PM
5 years ago I heard about Bitcoins  some feedback are good but some of them are negative

Untill now In my country if you say/discuss about Bitcoins expect that their response are negative.

Why does some people always say negative about Bitcoins?

1. Lack of knowledge about Bitcoins, uneducate People only saw the negative sides of Bitcoins.
2. Some of them say negative feedback because of their experience on some sites about Bitcoins,  because now a days Bitcoin are popular but there are many site will scam you if you are spontaneous to invest in not trusted sites.

Most of the time OP, negative and fake news are more to listen to than hearing about the positive one. No matter how we encourage and tell them the truth, it was just ignored and sometimes asking for any proof. They are not uneducated people, I think but they are just one-sided. Or, they are not totally aware of the market situation leaving behind this development and some factors are having no internet connection and their capabilities.
3716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: busd or USDT safe on: August 09, 2021, 01:02:19 PM
I do have both USDT and BUSD, and so far I have no problems with them as stablecoins. However, USDT is the most popular stablecoin out there because it was mostly used in centralized exchanges (CEXs). For me, both are safe in terms of volatility and storing them in a non-custodial wallet.
Yeah, there is no wrong and a sort of problem holding them as long as you are holding them in highly secured exchanges like BNB. I often used BUSD for my trades and even to stake for some a few weeks and I'd never found anything bad to happen.

Not only is it paired to many coins in the market but the so-called volatility is not present. At times when I can't understand the market situation, I deem to convert it to BUSD. I don't mind the small profit I could get from staking stablecoins but at least my funds are still safe.
3717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casimero vs Rigondeaux this August 14, 2021 on: August 06, 2021, 09:30:49 PM
Only 1 week now before the date of the fight, as of today, there's still not sportsbook that offers the betting odds of the fight.

I think our patience will be tested here as I'm sure just like me, you are also eager to put your bet, but we can't do anything since we don't control the bookies and it seems this fight is not so popular resulting in a lack of bettors interest.

I'm waiting for the odds as well, and I want to see the odds that were shared days before to be displayed in the bookies. That odds were good, Casimero was the underdog with +200 and I think anyone who supports the Filipino fighter will be happy to bet in this fight.

BATANGAS won’t be able to host the PBA Philippine Cup.

On Friday, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) gave the league the go signal to resume its games in provinces which are only under a regular General Community Quarantine (GCQ) or a modified GCQ.

Too bad, Batangas has just been placed under GCQ (General Community Quarantine) with heightened restrictions starting Friday.

No venue for Batangas, I think this is the final venue and I hope they'll prepare it soon so they can resume.

They are back to their old location, well, this is a guaranteed success as they made a successful season during their first bubble, and that was a full bubble because there's no vaccine at that time. I'm glad the PBA had quickly decided, they don't really want to cancel this season.

Great news, at least for now the venue is already assured and all we have to do is just wait for the schedule of the resumption of the games. As per their official website (https://pba.ph/), there's no written schedule yet, so they are probably still working on the requirements and getting the place ready.

Meanwhile, this delay in the conference helped Paul Lee to give time in recovering from his injury.

3719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 06, 2021, 08:47:44 PM
Iguana signed back with the Warriors and it’s looking like a Wiggins for Ben Simmons deal is close to happening. I’m not sure how I feel about that.
You mean Iguodala? Smiley
Well, this guy wants to retire with the warriors that gave him multiple championships, that's probably the main reason, and aside from that, he is still a big help for the warrior despite his age.

I thought Wiggins was a perfect fit alongside the splash brothers, while Ben Simmons can’t shoot the ball, literally. I guess there’s no better place to learn to shoot, but this seems like Golden State is really risking a lot here.
Wiggins is also inconsistent, Warriors had the offense they need as Thompson might be back next season, so they need the service specialty of Simmon which is the defense and I'm sure the Warriors will develop him to be one of the elite NBA players.
3720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should online gambling companies be responsible for harm related activities? on: August 06, 2021, 08:22:10 PM
at least they will be required to put some amount each month for funding in case there is a need for gambling related activities?

example if someone tries to rob or other related case and he was killed or hospitalized because of his action and obviously done because of gambling addiction , then there is some funds that can be use to support their family or at least medications.
And I don't think if there is a rule like they cover any medical expenses when a gambler/s has been injured/killed even they can prove that they are in gambling. Or the CSR will take responsibility with you? This is not what I see as the function of the CSR as they are not created to take responsibility for this because it was the fault of the gambler, not the site itself.

Even in gambling addiction, companies are still out from this and we can neither claim to help us.
