3721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ponzi accusations on: March 11, 2014, 09:16:22 PM

The world economy is a damn Ponzi scheme.

It rely on lies : infinite growing economy, infinite resources, blind trust in the church "Economy".

It is build to fail : exponentially growing dept, exponentially growing FIAT supply, exponentially growing inequalities, environmental destruction.

The ones who come early get rich, the others die miserably. The ones in between work in McDonald.

Then I suppose it is safe to say that we are from the early adopters?

Guys, please answer my questions above. Do you think it's worth it if ROI is 5 months? It's 3 months without VAT and PSU, but 5 with them.

It all depends on how you see ROI.
If you think the price of btc will stay the same then it is 5 months.
But..... it can always go back to $1000 or it can go down to $100.
This is a gamble my friend.

Here is my opinion. If you only have one unit then you can plug it in and  let it run for  5 months and I think you will make a little profit at todays prices before the machine uses more electricity than it makes in US dollars. You may win big, you may lose, you may break even in US dollar terms.
However, if you plan on using many machines or building up to more machines then the real game will be to buy and sell your gear as new stuff comes up for sale on the market. If you have many machines you will have to continually buy and sell them to make big money.
Sadly, it's going to be one machine only.

That's what I said, sadly I am addicted now  Tongue
I keep ordering more....
Yeah, but you have the money, I can only buy 1 right now.

To be 100% honest with you I have borrowed the money for my first miner.
I didn't have it. So a friend put the money down and I the knowledge.
Now we have 4 Smiley

EDIT: If you are uncertain about this I would suggest to buy the coin and keep it.
5 months from now it will be worth 5 times that (I hope).

EDIT 2: I only got the first miner on 26th of Jan and we already sold a coin as my buddy needed some cash back.

As prices keep dropping I feel so tempted to buy a 2nd one, but at the same time, I want to save my BTC to buy an S2 once they are available. Aiiiiiiiieeeeeeeee.

At less than 1BTC I would buy it, mine with it for 3-4 weeks before the S2 comes out and sell it.

3726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iran and Bitcoin.... on: March 11, 2014, 08:44:57 PM
one word....eheeeeooOIL
what would happen to price of bitcoin if Iran says " ok.. sure.. i'll sell you oil in BTC"

Imagine what would Iran say when a smart guy asks for a huge amount of oil supply but to pay with Bitcoins Wink
Would they not accept it then?

3727  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: March 11, 2014, 08:42:50 PM
Yes blockchain has its ups and downs today.

Just search for your address - the one you sent the btc from - and check your latest transactions.

3728  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 11, 2014, 08:38:14 PM

Hi all,

I receive the following message when I try to connect to the miner.

LuCI - LUA Configuration Interfac (blanc screen)

Can someone help me please?

For some reason you have not actually accessed the interface.

Try a reload and give it a minute.

3730  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.998 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 11, 2014, 08:35:25 PM
how long will it take for them to be shipped to uk??
Has anyone tried it ??
Thanks,
JT

China to UK is 2 days by UPS

So usually from the day you order it's in your hand in 4 days.
Okay thanks, do they deliver on saturdays ??

Don't think so, UPS site says "business day delivery" and all mine have arrived during the week.

It's Wednesday in China now, so if you placed and order would likely ship Friday and be delivered Monday.

Bitmain now ships to the E.U. using DHL. All my S1's with DHL have been 3 working days. They have all been delivered on weekdays. I think he changed courier because he had a problem with UPS and Customs due to shipping it at a reduced value. It helped the end customer with VAT charges but got Bitmain into a bit of trouble.

This is only in certain countries.
I still request that my packages come with UPS and they ship with UPS.
No problems here so far.
I think the biggest problem was UK.
3731  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Can't Find Antminer S1 On Local Network on: March 11, 2014, 08:18:17 PM

I don't know if there is a tutorial about it but I have set all my Ants to mine wireless from:
Network - WiFi - Scan and set the network with your password.
Then on interfaces create a new one and use the new connection you have just created.
Click connect if it didn't already and enjoy Smiley

EDIT: USE DHCP on your new interface not static IP

Maybe you should let them know that there is no bigger ponzi SCAM than fiat currency: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=510710.0

thx, after any trys the order was confirmed   Smiley

According to the website yes you have the amount within one hour Transfer?
immediately after ordering I have transferred the amount. Until now I have 0 confirmations and is 70 minutes have passed ...

I hope the Bitcins climbed in there, I get bezieheungsweise confirmed the transfer?
Not that the order will be invalid, and my Bitcoins are away Huh

Bitmain only requires one confirmation.
If your order gets expired before that contact Bitmain with your TXid and they should take care of it for you.

3735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Want to get your friends into Bitcoin? Show them this! on: March 11, 2014, 07:31:05 PM
Good video, but sadly a lot of the gold bugs that enjoy watching such videos are fiercely against Bitcoin, which I personally have never understood as I love both gold AND bitcoin, they both have their strengths in this modern internet wireless age.

Wouldn't the world be a better place if we only traded in Bitcoin and Gold Bitcoin pieces?  Grin
3736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iran and Bitcoin.... on: March 11, 2014, 07:19:59 PM
It's the kind of think that could save Iranian Rial, and I don't see why the Iranian Gov would be against it. Iran is religiously controlled not Bank controlled as we are here in Europe.

LOL  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
Religion has a lot of control but not even close to the kind of control the Banks have.
Don't forget ALL of our churches here in Europe are money driven Wink

Look at all the bling bling the priests are wearing then ask your self again, who controls what?

3737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Want to get your friends into Bitcoin? Show them this! on: March 11, 2014, 07:03:29 PM
good video,  but be careful, btc is not for everyone, especially ones with weak heart.

That is very true.
I have lost MANY money from selling coins to soon in my begining as a Bitcoiner due to the fact that I was impatient.
Patience is a virtue.

EDIT: I wish I never done that, I could have had ALOT of money now, instead I got jack shit  Undecided

"As soon as your payment is received in full you will receive email confirmation with order delivery details."

I'm not questioning Bitmain; I really do like them over all the others, but did anyone who ordered yesterday receive any email confirmations of their orders?

Check your order on their website.

Ordered on Sunday and received email confirmation.
Ordered again yesterday and the order is shipped but no email.

It is a manual process so do check your account under my orders, if it says shipped click on view to get your tracking number Wink

Thanks! Just says: "Paid, Unshipped, Valid" for the two I ordered yesterday. But I'll wait. Just ordered one more today. Want to mine a full BTC, so can give my wife that as a birthday gift before April Smiley

You will probably have them in 3 days Smiley
Good luck and happy bday to your wife Smiley  (great idea btw)

3739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can replace the credit card today on: March 11, 2014, 06:45:34 PM
Something in the digital currency space will eventually replace the debit card, I'm not sure it will be bitcoins though.  Too slow and transaction limits that simply can't handle the world's transactional volume.  Bitcoin is better suited as a store of value and IMO, shouldn't try to involve itself in micro-transactions because it's simply not good at it.

Bitcoin + Ripple....now that's a different story and a viable solution that should seriously concern payment processors.

I don't understand we you keep hanging on the fact that it requires 10+ minutes for a transaction WHEN if you have already deposited your coins in a card wallet the transaction goes automatically from your card wallet to the merchant wallet.
All you need is something like a bank that say: Yes this guy has coins so we get it from him and give it to the merchant.

You know somehow NEO-BEE comes to my mind Wink

EDIT: Same as credit card, the money is not moved from your account immediately. When you swipe your cards the service checks if you have enough balance and holds it, but doesn't send it to the merchant immediately. This is much better. If you have the coins the merchant gets it in 10 minutes or something. So if you were a merchant what would you choose considering the transaction fees as well?

3740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Want to get your friends into Bitcoin? Show them this! on: March 11, 2014, 06:42:27 PM
I used to recommend buying bitcoins to friends and relatives when bitcoin was in the 25 to 100 USD range, but at current prices I don't bother anymore.

That's one more of a reason to tell them:
I TOLD YOU SO!!!!
You can still get in before it goes over $1000 again Wink
