3721  Other / Politics & Society / Re: REEEEE: PussyGate, a Collection of Trump Investigations on: April 22, 2019, 06:59:59 AM
I was going to post in the censored thread, but didn't want my post to get deleted.

Many Trump supporters have noted that there is ~zero evidence the Trump Campaign colluded or conspired with the Russian government, or any Russian person. I do not think this is the best approach.

President Trump has made it very clear that he identifies as not colluding with Russia, and to not having obstructed justice. Based on this, and this alone, if anyone disagrees, they are a racistCheesy

Unlike most liberals who identify as something, what Trump identifies as is actually true.

If your concern is that you don't want to lose all your coins because your entire seed was kept in one place, then why not implement a multi-sig solution instead? Much better than having to split keys and deal with weakened security?
multi-sig is one option, but is more expensive to get a multi-sig transaction confirmed.

Splitting keys up and storing them in two locations will increase security from that of the location with the lessor security that holds each of the 12 words.
it will increase the security but also it will decrease it. the increase however is tiny while the decrease is gigantic so the total is not acceptable.
note that what i said above about splitting was about splitting the encrypted result not the seed itself. when you split the seed your choice is still from 2048 words but when you split the encrypted result your choice is the missing bytes. so for example if you split a 32 byte result into two 16 bytes and one part is compromised you still have 2^128 choices to then decrypt! and that is only for the paranoid.
You are assuming that half the seed will be compromised, but this is not the case.

Let me explain it this way:

I am going to use a vault located at 555 Main Street, Springfield, US. If the vault is broken into:
  • if I keep my entire seed in this vault, my private keys are instantly compromised and known to the thief
  • if I keep 1/2 of my seed in this vault, my private keys are less secure than they previously were, and I have some time to move any coins secured by these private keys before the thief can reasonably know my private keys

As of prior to when the vault is broken into my private keys are equally safe in both scenarios.
3723  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [tagged in red] BetKing.io broke ICO promise and dropped token value 99% on: April 22, 2019, 05:46:39 AM
I have to agree that JollyGood looks like he is pursuing a smear campaign against you and your business. It was in part because of this that when I started writing my first post in this thread, it was defending you, however once I worked through the details my opinion changed against you.
There was no agenda for a smear campaign against betking or against scammer Dean Nolan.
Noted.

My suggestion is that you stop posting in these threads about betking. If you will not do that I would stop referring to its owner as "scammer Dean Nolan".

My personal opinion is that betking appears to be owned by a scammer, and if its owner is named "Dean Nolan" my opinion is it would not be inaccurate to refer to him this way.

The way you post in this thread gives me sympathy to betking, that only goes away after a close examination of the evidence and facts surrounding his ICO/debt tokens. I don't know that other people will be willing to take the time to review the evidence as closely as I did.

Just my two cents, you can take it or leave it.
3724  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should I leave the Yobit signature campaign? on: April 22, 2019, 05:38:02 AM

If you want a recommendation for an alternate signature campaign, I am advertising for HoweyCoins currently. The education they provide to investors is very good. I have to warn you that I have not yet received any payment for advertising for HoweyCoins yet.
I will never promote ICOs or shit tokens in my signature. Except for the one you promote, as recommended by Theymos and SEC.  Don't treat me like an idiot, I consider your suggestion as a disrespectful intuition over me. So stop playing the smart role please because I was here when Theymos wear HoweyCoins.
BTW, how did you get this fantastic design in your signature, as you are still a Junior member.?
I am just trying to give a suggesting to participate here without getting paid for doing so. I did not want to give the false impression that "advertising" for HoweyCoins would result in you actually getting paid. I admit that getting paid to participate here is appealing.

As I mentioned in my prior post, I would not personally advertise or otherwise be associated with yobit. I would personally rather not advertise anything that I am paid for.
3725  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can yobit.net Signature Campaign Bring Bubbles? on: April 22, 2019, 05:34:07 AM

An exchange running a signature campaign is an indicator they believe trading volume levels will increase, and are trying to increase their customer base prior to a new serge in trading volume. Increased trading volumes will generally be synonymous with higher prices, or increasing prices. A reputable exchange will often have good reasons to know one way or another if trading volumes will increase, such as on-boarding large new customers.

Yobit could have done this easily if they have trade volume because higher volume in trading can push the price upward which can be a good opportunity for the general market to soar high. Yobit not haven the required ability seem not reliable of the bubble. Also, there past records will not allow that to happen because they are yet to address the public against some of these accusations from forum members.
I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say.

If an exchange thinks overall trading volume is going to increase in the near future, they will want to increase their customer base among existing crypto holders and traders.
3726  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should I leave the Yobit signature campaign? on: April 21, 2019, 01:51:38 AM
Yobit.net is not a "confirmed scam exchange" but they have a history that makes me not want to be associated with them. You can look at a tweet they posted promoting a "pump" of a "random" altcoin they wanted their users to buy. This is the beginning of a "pump and dump" scam.

I would not want yobit to be on my resume, and I would decline if they asked me to work for them. I would also decline if they asked me to advertise for them.

If you want to join a signature campaign, I think you should find a business that has a better reputation.

If you want a recommendation for an alternate signature campaign, I am advertising for HoweyCoins currently. The education they provide to investors is very good. I have to warn you that I have not yet received any payment for advertising for HoweyCoins yet.
3727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can yobit.net Signature Campaign Bring Bubbles? on: April 21, 2019, 01:39:37 AM
If yobit.net did not have a suspect past, here is what I would say:

An exchange running a signature campaign is an indicator they believe trading volume levels will increase, and are trying to increase their customer base prior to a new serge in trading volume. Increased trading volumes will generally be synonymous with higher prices, or increasing prices. A reputable exchange will often have good reasons to know one way or another if trading volumes will increase, such as on-boarding large new customers.

yobit does not have a very strong history. In the past, they have run what I can only describe as a "pump and dump" scheme that violates US securities laws, and have done other shady dealings. It is not known where yobit is operated out of, but there is evidence it is run out of Russia. It is possible they are wanting to get more people to participate in some kind of pump and dump scam, or some other abusive scam.
3728  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking to borrow 1-20 BTC. Stable coin as collateral on: April 21, 2019, 12:19:09 AM
I believe what you describe is true for anytime collateral is used for a loan.

Thus exorbitant rates and short terms around here. The OP wants no risk all reward.
I prefer to let the free market work itself out. There are plenty of people willing to lend at crazy interest rates, but few people willing to pay. Thus we see a lot of scammers here and not many interesting opportunities that are open very long.

2% a year is incredibly good - hopefully you get that, but even with collateral it doesn't seem likely.
I am looking at interest rates for crypto lending on margin exchanges, and poloniex allows someone holding bitcoin to earn ~3.0%/year, but this is subject to change, and is not available to US residents.
Interest rate on poloniex is still 3%/year.

I am confused why you would say 2%/year is "incredibly good" when 10 hours later you are having to try to take out a loan at 20% over 11 days.
3729  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking to borrow 1-20 BTC. Stable coin as collateral on: April 17, 2019, 06:07:40 AM

interest : 2% a year

You can try to borrow on whatever terms are acceptable to you, but I think the interest you are offering is too low. If someone was willing to lend at 2%/year, they might go to Bankrate CD rates, and see FDIC insured banks offering 2.80% APY for a one year CD, and the lender would have virtually zero counter-party risk. It is up to individual traders to price their own risk, but I would price in something more than a 2% discount for having to account for the risk of whoever I am dealing with running away with my money.
I give 2% on bitcoin risk free since I fully collaterize at all times. If we ever get close escrow buys bitcoins with my money and sends them to you. Banks give interest in usd. It's a difference. I am open to any offers but no crazy interest rates
I think I may have misunderstood your intentions, I understand now. You are wanting to short bitcoin via an OTC trade.

I am looking at interest rates for crypto lending on margin exchanges, and poloniex allows someone holding bitcoin to earn ~3.0%/year, but this is subject to change, and is not available to US residents.

Your reason to not just buy Bitcoin with that USD?

Seems like that's exactly what the OP is trying to do, using the loan as a hedge:

1) BTC goes down, OP repays devalued bitcoins, walks away with the USD, the cost is only the tiny bit of interest.

or

2) BTC goes up, OP walks away with bitcoins, leaves the lender with the collateral USD.

I believe what you describe is true for anytime collateral is used for a loan.

I am trying to brainstorm solutions to this problem:
The lender [if applicable: through a trusted middleman] could hold both the stablecoin and bitcoin, and once the OP is ready for the loan to be repaid, the lender can settle with the applicable coins he is holding for the loan.

If the OP wants to hold the bitcoin, the lender can add a clause to the Note that automatically terminates the loan if the value of the owed bitcoin exceeds the value of the stablecoin for an agreed upon length of time, and no additional stablecoin is deposited to the lender, or lender's behalf if using a middleman.

The OP can solicit entering into a straddle option agreement with who he is doing business with. This will probably make the transaction more expensive for the OP.
3730  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance going to delisted BitcoinSV on: April 17, 2019, 05:46:55 AM
There is no any reasons why community should accept fork of fork.
The market had given BCHSV actual value, even though its actual value is debatable. Binance, and other exchanges were earning commission revenue from BCHSV trades, and I assume keeping it listed would be profitable.

I am strongly against the heavy handed tactics of CSW, and believe there is a near zero chance he is satoshi. I do find it hilarious that CZ pwned CSW by delisting his coin, but I am also in favor of free markets and would rather see the free market help BCHSV fail on its own, as I believe it would given enough time.
3731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Delete Telegram Message! on: April 17, 2019, 02:14:22 AM
So, It's better to avoid Telegram or any other chat method really.
Telegram was not really designed as a method for conducting business, and when people try to use it for this, they will encounter poor results.

If you wish to trade with someone, and are communicating on Telegram, you can negotiate the terms and conditions on Telegram, and finalize the terms on a platform where communications cannot easily be deleted. A superior way to finalize the terms of a transaction is for both parties to sign a statement outlining the expectations and obligations of each party that can be saved and easily independently verified by a third party in case of a dispute.

I am not sure if you have heard of google. It is this website that lets you search the internet based on keywords.

I searched "borrow against bitcoin" and the first three non-ad results were:
https://saltlending.com/
https://coinloan.io/
https://lendabit.com/

I have not done any kind of due diligence on any of the above companies. You will need to research any company you decide to use before entrusting them with your money.

I am also still confused why you would not just use USD, or even DAI to purchase your investment.

i googled and cant find anything
i dont want to borrow against bitcoin, i want to borrow bitcoin against usd. which isnt common
The first two platforms do not appear to offer the type of loan you are asking for, but for the amounts involved, they might try to work something out for you. I reviewed the FAQ on lendabit and it appears they offer BTC loans secured by USDT, but if I am reading their restrictions correctly, they will not do business with US residents.

If you are considering using some kind of mixer, I would suggest first reviewing this thread about mixers.

Almost every exchange requires KYC in order to even deposit, so if you ignore the above thread you will not have any real privacy above if you send coins directly from coinbase.
3736  Economy / Services / Re: [For Hire] Increase your Twitter followers on: April 15, 2019, 05:57:09 AM
Anyone buying what lolxxxx is selling is violating the TOS of Twitter and your twitter account will possibly be suspended.

Even without the TOS violation, what lolxxxx is selling sounds shady to me.....
that is about fake followers. legit twitter marketing and growth is legal and thousands of people on the web offer this service all over the web (freelancing websites etc)
Are you speaking on behalf of the OP Huh

Can you explain how someone could buy twitter followers that are not fake? I cannot imagine how what the OP is buying is possibly legitimate.
3737  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mother Forcing Chemical Castration & Gender Reassignment of 6 Year Old Boy In TX on: April 15, 2019, 12:32:51 AM
In reality, there is no "rise of the transexual movement." There is only the media hype of issues surrounding a very, very small percentage of the population.
There is probably a small increase in the number of transexual people recently, but only because of the media hype you discuss.

It is undeniable that the left has made "transexual" rights a talking point and a way to reduce everyone else's rights by way of being forced to change to appease the needs of well under less than 1% of the population.
3738  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mother Forcing Chemical Castration & Gender Reassignment of 6 Year Old Boy In TX on: April 14, 2019, 11:17:48 PM
If you,re looking for people to blame, blame the people who won't let women with penises into the bathroom.
I think most people would call this type of person a "man"

True, but one would strongly argue the oppose if his goal was to sow division and discord into the population of the USA.
You have to be deluded to believe anything different.

Maybe the rise of the transexual movement is the taxpayer funded teaching of far left wing extremism present on college campuses. It is no wonder why so many Democratic Presidential candidates  in the states are pushing for "free college", they want colleges to impose liberal ideology onto as many students as possible.

edit: spelling
