3721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a safe haven? on: August 06, 2021, 03:07:30 PM
i think there is bunch thread alike this. but in my opinion it always depen on you for long term run bicoin already proof that the value always up. but for short term you can see the volatility and looks not safe at all
Precisely, but still many aren't aware of this or, still thinking about the safety assurance that the crypto space could give to all crypto holders. Because whether we like it or not, Bitcoin and the rest of cryptocurrency can never be called a "safe haven" due to the market volatility. Well, you put some trust in investing in Bitcoin but talking about if we can assure that everything will be fine and profiting, it certainly depends on us.

However, we can still enjoy the moment while these things still exist, while the volatility is still there. Because as the moment has come that the market turns centralized, that will be another story.
3722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the pandemic is still going on.. on: August 06, 2021, 08:49:04 AM

It is not sadly. It is not even a good way to promote such projects, because probably everyone would be just in it for free money and they would hunt another airdrops to get their shitcoins also. Even if you do those 3 you mentioned to join an airdrop with dummy information, you still have wasted your time doing all those fill-up form only to not still get paid in the end. It will be hella exhausting in the end, only to get shitcoin that wouldn't even last.

I find that airdrops became much more unreliable in the last few months than they were a few years ago. While there are still some promising new projects out there, most of the new coins will just disappear again in a few months. It is hard to tell which coin will be successful and which won't, because a coin could see little action for years and then all of a sudden to start rallying. Like it happened with Doge Coin. We can either quickly sell the airdrop or hold out and hope the project will succeed.
After the 2017 bullish season, it comes to happen that airdrops aren't realistic and the majority of them (or almost all) are useless. I'm active in participating in airdrops before but today, I don't see any reason why I/We should waste our precious time with them. It was become hopeless to see and find legit airdrops in these days. A lot of market promotions turns scam (exit scam) and the fire still continue.

So for now, the best way to survive in this crisis is to find a stable job or to offer our skills in the forum if there is. Freelancing is quite available this time, maybe we could have some place on this type of job.
3723  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Always take profit on: August 06, 2021, 04:12:48 AM
In trading there will be some loss as well as profit . But you should take profit from it whether the profitis small even it doesn't matter. You should analyze the coins first and get the profit.
I understand the thing that traders are aiming for a bigger profit but somehow, we can't escape from losing sometimes for the market isn't in our favor all the time. Now, we have to understand that every single opportunity like having a 5% daily profit is a blessed day for us. We can't be all greedy always like we have to aim for a bigger profit as this will cost us.

I could remember how I miss the 2017 market rally, I thought it keeps on growing to neglect to think about selling when Bitcoin reach $20k, it is mess and I dare not to let this things happen again as I'd never hesitated to sell once get some profit.
3724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Olympics Boxing) Carlo Paalam vs Galal Yafai (Fight for Gold Medal) on: August 05, 2021, 04:41:42 PM
Good news, Carlo Paalam is underdog in sportsbook.

Check the betting odds here https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/boxing/international/olympic-tournament/paalam-carlo-yafai-galal-610ba6c257dc6c61eae9bc58

Better put your bet early guys, who knows the odds might flip.

I like the odds here, as our very own Carlo Paalam is the underdog.

Not sure why Yafai is the favourite, but in any case, his fight against Bibossinov was a classic one, if only Bibossinov  didn't gas out in the last round, he could have turn the tide and win, but it was a 3-2 win by Yafai. Paalam though is well rounded so it will be a good fight for the gold. Hopefully, Paalam will start very fast in the first 2 rounds to get the score and take a lead going into the last round.

Paalam seemed to be so focused, he does not rattle in the ring, we saw it in the semi-finals fight when his opponent trying to pressure him, but he still stays calm, goes according to the game plan, and got a good result with a unanimous win. Paalam beat the previous world champion in the QF, so that's a good barometer on his skills.
3725  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trader took his own life after the recent huge dump on: August 05, 2021, 02:48:44 PM
Losses in trading and investing are normal. Some people who have been undisciplined will be extremely dangerous.
And now what can we do today with trade. A rainbow chart in the 1h zone looks very interesting. Lol, Fud from coinbase IPO ? After a week of lulling according to the chart, the turn follows the news. and FUD is damn. Some things are distorted here. Short latch

It is somewhat normal for those who are already aware of the consequences that we might get from trading (losing/gaining) but for those who haven't know, this was a nightmare, and like OP had shown to us, that might possibly happen when emotions can't be control anymore.

I was thankful that I could still control myself. I've been in losing sometimes but never in mind to think that way but instead, it helps me to find a way to get stronger and accept the fact that losses can be possible no matter how careful we are as sometimes we commit mistakes that cause losses. If can't manage to handle the stress in trading, it was best to stop earlier before we come into the point of taking our life.
3726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 05, 2021, 11:12:16 AM
How about this news? LaMarcus Aldridge seriously considering return to NBA after retiring last season with heart issue, per report.

I guess it will be good to see him playing again, but he need to be cleared first, by the NBA's medical team. In any case, there could be many teams still interested on his services, he could still be a good man in the middle for any teams and he can contribute to the offense as well. I'm not sure if Nets will have the first crack at him.

Interesting and I'm sure KD would love to see him playing back to Brooklyn,

He can continue his quest for the title, still good place for him to play with this top 3 scorer. If he able to clear his medical condition for sure Nets management will take their step, his presence inside will help KD and if they'll still have Griffin plus Kyrie and Harden amazing all-star starting line up!

I hope he can play though, but a heart problem is a serious problem, clearance is needed for him to play. LA is already an accomplished player for me, hopefully he will think wisely not to sacrifice his health for his passion, Nets can still find a good big man that will help their chances of winning the NBA Finals.

But he is not so effective anymore, with his condition, he might not also be given a lot of minutes, and he is not getting any younger so I doubt we will see our expectation on him. Nets has to find a big man that is 100% healthy and a young one, I know they can as they already saw what the current line up can do in the playoffs and they have no choice but to improve.
3727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tokyo 2020 Men's Olympics Basketball Tournament on: August 05, 2021, 10:53:47 AM

Slovenia vs France about to begin
cant decide
i see 2019 WC was bad for Slovenia while France was doing good
current session both are great

Why not go for the favorite which is Slovenia unless you are from France?

Slovenia are the odds favorite because of Luka. I put a small bet on Slovenia -2.5 and hopefully they can cover the spread. I know that France is very strong as well, but Luka has been taking his NBA style of play into the Olympics. But Slovenia's offense is very fluid thanks to Luka. France though has Gobert, the reigning defensive player of the year, but I think Slovenia will opt more on outside shot in this game.

Nice game, this should be a close game, France has proven that they are a strong team by beating the USA, so I think even if they are the underdog here, I will still on them to win. No need to take the point spread for me, I'll go with France for straight-up win, I have 2.38 them winning, good luck.
3728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Olympics Boxing) Carlo Paalam vs Ryomei Tanaka on: August 05, 2021, 10:16:47 AM
Paalam has a good chance of getting the gold medal and that's what he wants to achieve for his country, and if you look at every fight he always uses very fast footwork and sharp right-handed counters that his opponents have to watch out for.

Carlo Paalam and Marcial's performance earned praise and support from Pacquiao, who wrote from his training camp in Los Angeles, "You two make us so proud"

Paalam made it but Marcial was not able to succeed, he finishes the olympcis with a bronze medal, still something to be proud of.

Now, we still have Paalam and we have to support him, I was actually waiting for the betting odds but could not find it, but it's okay, there's still a finals, so hopefully that odds will be available that time.
3729  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The reason why investors often lose money on: August 05, 2021, 09:10:39 AM
It's easy to list down those things but one things is for sure many investors lose money because of lack of information/knowledge or probably letting the emotion affect their trading where in fact it supposed to be pure technical. But not exactly because some times there are some cases that we are just really unlucky and lose our positions.
Some have the courage to invest but are too unfortunate that they just suffer such difficulties in order for them to learn. They are obviously not fully knowledgeable with the market and they often rely on what they feel and might follow some influencer. Their market survival is too tin and that is many of them had gone after losing their capital and hopes. Yet, some just to stay as are still wanting to recover and wanting to know more about crypto, and these people are true investors. Quitters never win, that's probably the mindset we have to keep.
3730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why shiba inu not come 1$ on: August 05, 2021, 08:36:16 AM
because in my opinion shiba inu is just a meme coin like dogecoin, meme coin like that has no utility so shiba inu and doge coin can rise only because of temporary hype, the main cause of course is because of elon musk

I agree with you, because shiba inu and doge have no function, so it's impossible for the price of shiba inu and doge to increase very high if it wasn't for the hype created by Elon Musk, therefore I'm sure if the hype from meme coin has disappeared, then of course the price of shiba inu and doge will not be able to increase very high again and can even go down, so my advice never invest in meme coin for the long term.
yes, we can say that these coins are one of those shitcoins that existed in the market but can't deny that many became profitable during its hypes. However, as the hypes are over, people are getting crazy to think about what will happen next. Most have a negative opinion, $1 is really at hard reach for Shiba Inu, and for that huge market cap, even there is a hype comes again that still impossible.
3731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 05, 2021, 04:23:15 AM
Melo, Ariza, and Howard definitely will have a secondary role on the court. However, they might be very useful if top players of the Lakers starting lineup are injured as it was during the previous season. So it looks like the Lakers are trying to create a strong bench.
IMO they want a defensive team. A team that would highlight the true nature of Frank Vogel. Defense.
They may be old but they are known for their high-level aggressiveness in D and that's all the Lakers need that had been missing last year.
Offense is not much of a problem with WB, Lebron, Melo, and Davis.
Dwight is also a good backup for AD, to avoid stressing his injuries and give him minutes to rest. I just realized they are now filled with big men. Giants.

They have also Marc Gasol, another big men who has experienced as well, and a threat to the outside. He didn't get a good exposure last season, but I'm sure Vogel will insert him if needed as we have seen in the playoffs against the Suns as he hit crucial 3. They let go of Caruso, but added Ariza to play the defense for them against shooting guards of the opposing team.

Until Mark Gasol prove his worth with the Lakers, then I might start believing that he is still a good piece for their success. Gasol is good, no doubt about it as he already won a championship back in Toronto Raptors, but playing with Lebron could be different so he might not fit with his current team.
3732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to invest in nft art work? on: August 04, 2021, 11:42:49 PM
NFT market is booming recently, many people are investing more and more in NFT art work.
But I think the potential of these art work might be overvalued.
Take an example, I've just participated in an NFT art work value prediction on X Predict market.
Most people estimated the final bid value will be more than 150 busdt, but actually it reminds at 77 budst.
I think it's a sign that most nft art work is overvalued.
It's so easy to make nft art work now, the value of the work itself depends on it's art value after all, nft didn't really add anything on art itself.
I'm not sure if this will just stay for long that is why I'd never had the interest to invest NFT tokens for now. What I did is to still observe the market trend. We know how devastating ends when the hypes are over, can't imagine what happens to the previous projects where they all gone after the hypes and that might be possible for the NFT's projects. I certainly don't rush, I simply put my money in a reserve position and wait when the surge is over coz that is the only way to find out if there is a potential or another useless project.
3733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I feel like there is no way to keep up on: August 04, 2021, 01:29:36 PM
Long as the market is going up and appreciating in the long-term and the interest of the people only goes up, I don't think that it's going to be a problem not keeping up because even if you invest at 100k and the market appreciates, it will still be profitable if you hodl in the long-term.
it's true as you said comrade, because our goal is to invest in bitcoin for profit, if we save our bitcoin in the long term it is certain that the profits will be in our favor, actually it's not that we can't follow but maybe you are too afraid of the risk, if we can't face it risk is certain that success will not be on our side..
Worries will certainly come to our minds if we keep looking and monitor the market every day. Maybe we have to try to skip sometimes checking our portfolio and enjoy ourselves to the other things, it is likey giving us some peace of mind. Because the more we are focus on our investment, the more we get attracted to some negative thoughts and especially when we keep listening to the FUDs. This is not to wonder why newcomers come too fast and also leave so quickly, this is what I think about and many have such a sad ending story.
3734  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why newbies lose huge money in trading on: August 04, 2021, 12:52:00 PM
Because newbies probably think that investing in cryptocurrency and trading is easy, they rush to take decisions.
It is very unfortunate that most newbies had come to that end due to their emotions. But I believe that not all newbies think like this, some have also knowledge as they might have some experience in the other form of investments which gives them a reason to survive.

Quote
Also one of the reasons is that just one click separates them from loosing money - they buy what shows most gains on the exchange right now. I've seen how people sort cryptocurrency trading pair by "descending change" and buy the one that shows most % growth. Their graph is set to 4 hour, or 1 day or even 1 week. They see that altcoin shows a huge growth with probably a little decrease and that suits them perfectly. What they dont know, is that if they switch to 1minute or 5 minute graph, they would see that there are huge volumes of sales and they would understand that they has bought their asset at ATH. And it is not unusual that they go all in with that altcoin.
That is certainly hard for them if they just have limited knowledge of the market. I surely seeing that no one will ever succeed in that position. Knowledge is one of the vital things needed in trading, most of the traders are investing this and even to spend a lot of time for this and that is not to wonder how they become successful in the end.
3735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: August 03, 2021, 09:57:59 PM
Every increase in taxation is really good for a country as long as it will serve the right purpose. It's a valid point that government will rely on their source of revenue for those industries that are not affected during the pandemic and one of those is gambling.

As long as the added percentage given is reasonable, gambling owners will fairly accept it without a problem.
Exactly, if it goes in the right direction then I wouldn't mind having a big tax imposed on me, just look at some of the successful and 1st class economy in Europe, they make free healthcare and colleges hell some even pay students to attend college because they have high taxes and people sees the taxes being used the right way.
People will not complain if taxes are used the right way, besides, this tax is not a tax for necessities, so it's alright to increase the tax as we have an option to gamble or not. Like a lottery, the revenue is used for government projects and we play the lottery although the chance is very slim (close to nothing), so it should not be a burden for us gamblers.
3736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 03, 2021, 09:50:33 PM
Gilas finishes fourth in Amman as fightback vs Tunisia falls short

The Philippines lose because they did not play Ange Kouame, their naturalized player, I bet for the Philippines but unfortunately, they did not as competitive as they were when they beat Tunisia, of course, Ange Kouame was playing that time.
I haven't followed the King Abdullah cup but it seems that tournaments like this are going to happen from time to time which is a great sign that these funds from the basketball team will be used for what it used to be. We see those critics that are saying that instead of funding the basketball team and improve it, since we know that our country cannot beat other countries in official tournaments, the budget should be allocated to other sporting events and athletes. But they just can't accept the love and passion of our country for this sport which is valuable to us. Anyone who has an idea if there's another tournament like this where Gilas is invited or eligible participant?

They can't say about the budget of this fight because it's not funded by the government funds, it's funded by private funds and this is not a major event, it's just a friendly match although the players represent the Philippines in their campaign.
3737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in cryptocurrencies. on: August 03, 2021, 01:19:07 PM
Some say cryptocurrency is a low risk investment but high return and also does this digital currency have a fundamental value so that it is feasible for investment?
What do you think ?
Unfortunately, those SOME say that crypto investment is low risks are just assuming and underestimating the capability of the market volatility. That is why a lot of people had come into this investment even though they don't know anything about crypto. This case isn't new to everyone but something it was just ignored or it is because some influencers are too promising to look at and really makes the mindset of their viewers think and act differently.
3738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Most Bullish Altcoin of the moment on: August 03, 2021, 12:41:45 PM
If you have been following up with the event in the entire cryptocurrency market lately, you will be familiar with how volatile and bullish some alt-coins have become since the past two weeks, take for example Hex token in the last one week we have seen how the coin did 40x price rise given investors and holders huge profits. At the moment the market is in a bull mood again and I would like to know which alt-coin is making the wave at the moment and what is the price differences in the last one week.
it is not bullish altcoin but instead that is a well manipulated currency and like most of them , will be dumped soon.

this is not far from Polkadot and Defi projects in which what happened now?

never look on what those coins did because if you did not ride the train then you must forget and and find another one to seat and ride on.
Buying at low and waiting for the hypes comes, I think most of the short-term investors are looking for these kinds of coins. As they enjoy riding on the hypes, the more they gain profit, even far from what they will get from Bitcoin. Well, choosing them is really a huge risk but they can't find great rewards if they are afraid to risk their money in these shit and manipulated coins.

With the current market surge, I think a lot of people benefited from this. And I am sure as well that many are also in regrets for not seeing these trends to come.
3739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bye Bye Bitcoin on: August 02, 2021, 11:54:44 PM
I advise you not to read this type of news on the internet because they will always catch your attention in order to spit some nonsense about bitcoin.  We should read some articles that promote and use crypto in their research because having a use case and developing a technology out of it is a good thing and a boost for the crypto community.

They've been spreading FUD since 2017, and crappy news like this will continue to exist, and I'll just laugh at them for doubting in BTC. Roll Eyes
They are mostly paid and baked scenarios. These people never stop ruining cryptocurrency until they don't succeed. Even to ask them about Bitcoin, they just only talking about the negative side without letting people know the positive side of this project. Not to wonder reading this kind of article and ignoring them is the best solution. We are here in the crypto space for many years, we already know the situation and it was different from what they think.
3740  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Beauty Of Real Trading on: August 02, 2021, 11:27:28 PM
The real thrill of trading is experienced in those moments when, after numerous mistakes, you begin to understand how to do it or how not to do it.
By collecting information about old mistakes and using it to get maximum profit, it is at these moments that you feel that you understood something and did something right.
and in essence is an experience that is needed to do real trading. Experience will play an important role in reminding us of mistakes that have been made before. I even had many mistakes in the past when I started learning to trade. Don't be afraid to try. In the beginning it was always a loss, but after learning about basic trading, technical analysis and fundamentals, my trading mentality was formed and I started to make profits. Never give up and keep learning.
precisely, we could learn a lot if we suffer losses as this was a toll helping us to find where we are getting wrong and to evaluate if our strategy is working. Thus, if we easily give up and help not to find a way to improve our trading mindset and strategies, that seems impossible to have positive outcomes, that certainly be our losing ends.

However, trading is not always a winning game for everyone, most of us are in losses than in profit, that was the truth behind. And why, it was the majority are still learning and it was so hard when we are in a volatile market. Maybe 1 year in trading could give you enough learnings and we already have a deep knowledge on the market flow.
