It's too complicated. Why have 4 numbers? One number should suffice - net rating.
3722  Economy / Securities / Re: Securities Newbie. HELP ME INVEST! on: May 24, 2013, 02:51:36 AM
My goodness things are complicated enough without you guys going off on an tangent about bitcoins vs. fiat as a metric.

@OP: The only thing I'd like to say is that non of the companies here are actual companies nor do they publish financial statements. Essentially you are relying on the honesty of a few people and the security of sites like btct.co. So it's not investing. It is speculation.

Buy your own bitcoin related domain for like $10 per year. Add gmail for $5 per month. Plenty of bitcoin related domains still available.

3726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange volume is more decentralized now then ever ... on: May 23, 2013, 04:40:54 PM
Our daily volume is very volatile so if we look instead at average daily volume over prior 30 days it would be between just under cavirtex.

Some time back you said you were just behind btc-e:

Thanks, however in full disclosure the past two week may be an aberration and too short to draw any conclusions.  On a longer timeline (say 30 day moving average) we are just behind btc-e.

So quite a fall in your business then?
3727  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: F-yeah! (bitcoind port) on: May 22, 2013, 07:21:20 PM
256MB is not nearly enough. I ran it on a VPS with 768MB ram and from time to time it would run out of memory and kill bitcoind. You might want to install monit too to restart it automatically should it get killed.
3728  Economy / Speculation / Re: Criptocoins vs. Linux on: May 21, 2013, 09:49:31 PM
The world doesn't ABSOLUTELY NEED linux ...
The world DOES ABSOLUTELY NEED cryptocurrency (like Bitcoin).

Of course it absolutely needs Linux. This very forum for instance is powered by a Linux based web server. Linux dominates servers that power the Internet.

They don't allow Americans. Maybe they detected you are an American and sent back your money?
There is no way to detect who sent bitcoins  Roll Eyes

Maybe the OP mentioned his address and nationality on a public forum. Or maybe the just did a geoip lookup on the node that relayed his transaction.

3735  Economy / Services / [WTS] (Takeover) VPS 768MB RAM BTC 0.04 ($4) for 2.5 months on: May 20, 2013, 09:28:58 PM
I have a VPS with baltic servers in Lithuania that I no longer need. It is paid for until October 28 2013.

Basic Specs:

OpenVZ 768MB RAM + 256MB vSwap
20GB HDD
100Mbps bandwidth (unmetered)
1/2 a core of Intel Xeon CPU X3470 ( 1/2 of 2.93GHz )

Benchmarks: http://serverbear.com/benchmark/2013/05/11/8OW4qibxDwTONknK

You can takeover this VPS for just BTC 0.04. I can also take Skrill in which case it will cost you USD 4.

Renewal cost is Euro 35.97 per 6 months after Oct 28th.

Please PM me if you want it.

Go to a gaming forum and you'll see people bragging about their computers or the games they play. Go to a hosting forum and you'll see people linking to their hosting sites. This is a bitcoin forum so you see bitcoin addresses. Seems normal to me.

But yeah I don't think anyone gets any coins for posting here.
3738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Prediction of my own $200 per BTC by September this year on: May 17, 2013, 03:59:26 PM
The problem with bitcoin is that I can't predict the future!
3739  Economy / Economics / Re: Selling Digital Goods with Bitcoin on: May 17, 2013, 02:34:21 PM
One problem with selling for bitcoins is that transaction confirmation takes too long. I suppose users could be emailed the link to download after confirmation. But there are problems with that approach as well. For instance what do you do if the email ends up in the spam folder and the user doesn't see it? Email tends to be unreliable.

He's basically saying that the rich will get richer and that Nakamoto didn't want this. Well I don't know what Nakamoto did or didn't want but the rich always get richer. Life isn't fair etc.
