3741  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Binance overview wallet as graphs on: February 18, 2021, 10:47:41 PM
Use portfolio managers or trackers.
I have personally used BitUniverse and Delta crypto app. You will be able to see how your portfolio has been performing overtime through graphs too.

You will need to import your API key from your exchange to the apps. Make sure trading and withdrawals are disabled so that In case the apps get compromised, your funds are still safe in the exchange,

Here's some additional information which you might need

Delta App  - https://delta.app

Pros
- Can support a number of blockchains which i think you are interested in. So you can import each watch address of a specific blockchain. Incoming and outgoing transactions will be auto recorded
- You can also import exchange transaction records using an API key

Cons
- Will only support importing 2 exchanges and 2 addresses on a free version. Pro version which gives unlimited access is around $60 a year. If you can afford it, well and good

BitUniverse - https://www.bituniverse.org
Pros
- Completely free

Cons
- Some exchanges all one to only import balance minus transaction history
- Supports only Bitcoin and ETH for watch address importation

>>snip<<

You haven't explained your problem very well, but Ethereum Classic is not and ERC20 token. It's a coin of a different blockchain like Bitcoin, Litecoin or Ethereum. I think what you should do is first move out the coin you think has more value, either Ether or Ethereum classic.

To move out Ethereum classic, you must import the private key to a wallet that supports Ethereum classic. The fee you will pay will be in ETC and not Ether.
3743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Failed as Money? on: February 16, 2021, 11:55:11 PM
Fee spikes can be annoying at times but when it comes to that,  timing matters when you are going to make a transaction to avoid spending lots in fees (yes, that what we are left with right now). I made a transaction early yesterday and spent less than a dollar in fiat value.

One of the major contributors to the very high fees is the price of Bitcoin today, many early Bitcoin developers and users probably never thought Bitcoin would worth $50K each today

I feel it hasn't yet failed as money because when you look at the other side of the situation where you are making transactions of large value like $10,000 or $100,000 not many services will charge you a fee of $2 for that like Bitcoin.
3744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decreasing Bitcoin price volatility on: February 16, 2021, 11:36:06 PM
Volatility has nothing to do with money getting taken off the market. If this was the case with the increased adoption of bitcoin as compared to a decade ago, you would think the markets be less volatile now, but it's still the same as 10 years ago.

Price Volatility has more to do with the traders (People buying and selling) and how much they are buying or selling. Those who HODL the coins will keep them, but they won't affect how volatile the market prices will be.

Bitcoin is not just limited to 1 BTC, one can still own and easily transfer mBTC, bits, sats etc
3745  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Exchanges' Trading Fees on: February 16, 2021, 10:26:52 PM
There are many types of fees taker and maker fees that are not a problem 80% platforms ask for fees less than 1%.
It doesn't seem like a big deal until you look at the detail. Let's say an exchange charges 0.5% on taker and maker fees and I have $10,000 in my spot account. So i try to make some profits by buying low and selling high for a week and let's say I make 20 traders in the process (both buy and sell orders filled)
Exchange trade is taking a 0.5% hit on my account and by the end of the 20 trader. I have already lost $1000 in fees ($10,000 x 0.005 x 20)

At least if an exchange charges 0.1%, that's 5 times lower and a little reasonable

Scam Exchanges give you lowers fees. avoid them
That why it's good to stick with popular exchanges that don't have issues. Most still charge less fees compared to other

Aside from the previous thread which proves the wallet not too good. I am still surprised that some people still fell for all the hype created by Elon Musk because the tweet chat between him and the free wallet representative on Twitter is clearly hype base. Are people so dumb? There is absolutely no reason for a billionaire like him to use a cheap wallet to keep his investment.
What's even more absurd is that even after the first time ugly experience that Elon Musk had with freewallet, OP still sheepishly believes it a good wallet to use. Whenever such people end up getting scammed or getting their money locked up. I usually have no pity for them because the decided to ignore all the warnings.

OP, Here are Elon's last tweets about the wallet you think he's using.

3748  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Struggling to transfer a small amount of BTC from Binance to Bybit on: February 16, 2021, 05:42:14 PM
I stopped using binance a while back as i just couldn't get on with it, and I've moved over to Bybit which i prefer way more. I only have about £60 in BTC in that account and wanted to transfer it to my Bybit account, but whenever I paste in the wallet address i want to send the funds to on Binance, it initially says "This address matches a BTC network address. Please select the correct network you wish to make the withdrawal on."

the options i have are these;

Binance Chain (BNB) BEP2 - Fee £0.097813
Binance Smart Chain (BSC) BEP20 (BSC) - Fee £0.192133
BTC - Fee £17.47
Ethereum (ETH) ERC20 - Fee £10.48

If i select anything except BTC I get the message "The address does not match the currently selected network, it is recommended that you switch to another network."

Obviously, i don't want to spent near a third of the coin i have on binance on transferring it over if i can help it. Is there anything i can do here? I tried using the support option on Binance, but I wasn't able to get through to an actual human, and the autoattendant wasn't much help.

Thanks.
I am one person who usually transfers funds between Binance and Bybit. The best Options to use are EOS or XRP since they support both coins
Binance charge withdrawal fee of 0.1 EOS (0.46 USD) and 0.25 (0.13 USD) for EOS and XRP respectively.

- Make sure you select the EOS and XRP main chain options when withdrawing from Binance and ignore the other BEP2 and BSC options because Bybit doesn't support them
- Remember to include the Memo for EOS and Destination tag for XRP alongside the deposit addresses generated from Bybit or else no deposit will be credited to your account.
- Bybit has an internal exchange you can use to swap you EOS or XRP back to BTC if you want.

3750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: goldshell.com / coinminingcentral.com / blokforge.com on: February 15, 2021, 11:25:22 PM
Thanks for the reply  Roll Eyes

I was half way to order from coinminincentral.com since they are a long time sponsor of Vosk and have 4star reviews on some rating site.. but now I don't know what to do.. Lips sealed lol
You mean these reviews?
1. https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/coin-mining-central/
2. https://www.trustpilot.com/review/coinminingcentral.com

Most of them especially the positive review are fake. I would advise you not to use such sites to determine something positive about a site because most services especially shady ones manipulate such reviews with multiple accounts to fool people.

Let me give you a couple of tips on how to sense if the reviews are fake.
1. Most of the fake 5-star reviews are usually one liners and extremely full of praise about a service
2. Most of the fake 5-star reviews are made  in clusters. For example, you can find like 5 to 10 positive reviews made in a day or 2, the location tags for example for the case of Trustpilot are also always the same for the specific period.
3. The profiles that make the fake 5-star reviews usually have one review on to their profile.

I tend to trust some negative reviews because you can find an old profile that has made 10+ reviews

Now check those review links and see for yourself  Smiley

Maybe you could wait for more input from other members, but anyway it's you call.

3752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: goldshell.com / coinminingcentral.com / blokforge.com on: February 15, 2021, 09:32:56 PM
IMO, you must be very careful when dealing with third party resellers A big number of them are scams and always prey on buyers who are not well-informed

Blokforge.com seems legit - Here is one thread that talks about them - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2627311 thou it hasn't been active since 2019. You can read through what different users said

As for coinminingcentral.com, avoid like a plague. So many scam accusation about them
Just type this on your search bar
Code:
Coinminingcentral.com site:bitcointalk.org

I don't know about goldshell.com
3753  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Noification when Bitcoin TX fees reduce on: February 15, 2021, 08:55:30 PM
The reason I think this is not possible is because;

1. One can only know of a transaction with the least fee rate after the block has been confirmed. No one will be able to guess the exact range of Bitcoin fee rates for the transactions to be confirmed in the next block especially for the low rates.

2. The randomness of interval between Bitcoin blocks. The longer the next block takes to be confirmed, the higher the fees increase, for example

Look how random the last 7 blocks have been and see how the fee rate ranges have been changing with the different confirmed blocks. Just because the previous block had the least fee rate at 9 sats/vbyte does not guarantee that the next block will also have the same or even less.

They only way is to probably observe through different mempool tools
3754  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any non kyc fiat to btc exchangers ? on: February 15, 2021, 08:30:08 PM
Aml kyc regulations ? What crap is this ?
So you don't know what Know Your Customer and Anti Money Laundering regulations are?
He's trying to tell you to check out the KYC/AML regulations in your Country to avoid getting to a part where Financial services such as bank end up blocking your transferred funds from cryptotrading just because to were ignorant about the regulations.

To avoid KYC, this is what you can try to do
1.  Buy and sell directly to trusted forum members in this section  - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0
Use escrow if someone is not an old trusted members in the forum.

2.  Use Non KYC P2p exchanges, like some in this list - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224711.0

3755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking For Best Self Hosted Crypto Wallet on: February 14, 2021, 11:50:12 PM
The most secure multicurrency type of wallet you might be looking for according to your description is probably a hardware wallet. The most commonly known and popular are  Ledger Nano and Trezor. They do reduce a lot of risk of losing funds as compared to software or web wallets.
Personally, I don't know of any multicurrency software wallet that is Open source .
3756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DOT'S testnet coin ---KSM is now more than 100USD ,testnet3 of bitcoin no value on: February 14, 2021, 10:41:51 PM
What a stupid way of thinking.
Why are they called testnet coins anyway if they are going to cost some dollars just to acquire for testing purposes?
A $100 testnet coin vs free testcoin, which one contributes a lot more to the development of the network?

Take your greed else where, we don't need it in Bitcoin.

Freewallet is scam and i don't recommend anyone to use it. It's one of the wallets with the highest number of accusations in this forum. Here is a list of a few scam accusations that @DireWolfM14 was able to search.

Here's a list of scam accusations reported here on the forum.  I'm sure there are more, but I got tired of digging after 5 pages of google search results.  There are likely many more on other social media sites.  Some of these have been resolved, but almost all follow the pattern described above.  I did not confirm the validity of any of the reports below, you'll have to judge for yourself.

3758  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is antares an legit website for investing ? on: February 13, 2021, 10:52:58 PM
It's scam. I just saw this and noticed that they are promoting a bunch of ponzi and pyramid scheme model site

Pyramid scheme = Scam
MLM = Scam
Ponzi Scheme = Scam

What you need to know is;
1. "If the deal is too good to be true, it's probably not true and scam"
2. Making money isn't easy, nobody is going to make for you money while you are sleeping. If it was that easy, they wouldn't be asking you to pay some membership/subscription fee.
3759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Uniswap Airdrop on: February 13, 2021, 10:09:27 PM
Move this post to altcoin discussion because that's where it belongs

Back to the question, you won't be able to connect to Uniswap with an address that you have no ownership of private keys. I believe Bitit.io is a centralized service so forget about the airdrop. it's only Bitit.io that can claim the airdrop since they are the owners of the private keys
3760  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is tax calculated on crypto currency conversions? (general question) on: February 13, 2021, 12:28:30 AM
I always thought they only tax your gains as you are cashing out back to fiat and not the crypto to crypto trade profits and losses but well who knows, it could depend on the country's taxation laws too.

cointracker.io claim they can accurately calculate one's crypto tax but i advice before using them do some reading about what's supposed to be taxable and not taxable
