3741  Economy / Economics / Re: Start investing so you can quit your job and retire early. on: March 10, 2020, 05:36:45 PM
Honestly, this is one of the hardest things in life to do when you are married and have a family not because it will cost you more money (it will but that's another topic) but because you want them to live a better life and it is not just about you anymore. I can live with bare minimum life but do I really want to offer my wife the bare minimum as well? No. I want her to live the best life possible that she can live and that causes me to spend more money to provide a decent life for her.

Plus, not everyone lives in a first world country, if you live a third world country living even a decent life is very expensive, the average is basically starvation in many nations so if you live a decent life and go out twice a week you are basically considered rich as well.
3742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think, India lifting the ban on cryptocurrencies will impact BTC Price? on: March 10, 2020, 04:56:55 PM
We think this is huge for the crypto world looking at the current BTC price graph.
I don’t know of this sure but there are a lot going on that seems to be affecting the Bitcoin price right now, and not just bitcoin but every other assets and stocks market.

There is Coronavirus fear and it seems to be affecting everything, the price for everything has been decreased to a very low, Bitcoin has fallen back to around the rate of $7,000 after making its to $9,000 plus and apart from that miners has been another case since they started selling out less of what they mined. There are still a few other things that may have possibly affected the price of Bitcoin and caused it to fall.
3743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a failed experiment? on: March 10, 2020, 04:11:01 PM
You’re kind of confused man, you first of all said that you’re already used to the volatility of Bitcoin and then you switched to saying that you’re thinking that Bitcoin is a failed project. If you’re already used to the volatility of Bitcoin then you should know that by now that this is how Bitcoin does.

When the price went from almost $20k down to $3k plus in 2019 you didn’t say anything about Bitcoin being a failed project until now that the price has even managed to get passed that level and reached $10k before this sudden drop to $7k. Some of you are quite funny. You just want the price to be going up steadily and so you can make steady profit, but it’s not like that, there will always be risks.
3744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ⚡Bitcoin and Ethereum's Energy Consumption⚡ on: March 10, 2020, 03:34:14 PM
Uuhmm man are you expecting everybody to be mining Bitcoin? There should be those that are buying Bitcoin, because without the buyers there wouldn’t be those that the miners are going to sell their Bitcoins to; after mining Bitcoin, miners always look for buyers to buy from them.

Everybody can’t be a miner. Where I live electricity is costly and I can’t be a miner because I know how much it’s going cost which is a lot of money and I can’t afford that much. Those that I know that are into it have said it’s not profitable for them and some of them have dropped mining to join cloud mining.
3745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which altcoin will be your favorite this season? on: March 10, 2020, 12:46:13 PM
I am certain that many people must have BNB at their top 10 list, there are few coins that share a place with everyones top 10, some people have some other coins some people have others but everyone has bitcoin there, ethereum there and most have ripple and even bitcoin cash, eos is getting there slowly but I think BNB was the first one to crack there as well.

So, I think this seasons best one could be either EOS or BNB, they will probably x2 by the end of the year and that is a great profit to make inside a year. I know people here want to make x1000 profits so they can get super rich and buy mansions and lambos but if you x2 your money in one year, that is a great amount. 100-200-400-800-1600-3200-6400-12800-25600-51200-102400-204800-409600-819200-1638400.

As you can see if you double your money every year, you go from just 100 dollars to 1.63 million dollars in just 14 years, thats right, if you start now in 14 years your 100 dollars would be 1.63 million dollars, so do not think x2 is a small return.
3746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After Ethereum, Which Smart contract platform is better? on: March 10, 2020, 12:02:51 PM
Well, the question is "after" ethereum, I do think ethereum is by far the best one and I wouldn't pick any other as long as I don't have to, but if I am forced to pick one I would definitely go with EOS as well. Once again, I am not really into it and I would rather not pick EOS and keep going with ethereum if I am a developer for such a thing, however the question strictly says "after" ethereum so if I have to pick one EOS even tho being on a huge margin difference, is the second best one.

Looking at all other ones they look like either super centralized, scammy, shady or basically just bad. NEO used to be good but not even used anymore, Tron is just... justin sun. So, we are only left with eos as the second best one in the smart contract platform.
3747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Did Binance just help Justin Sun take over the Steem network? on: March 10, 2020, 09:10:12 AM
It is actually very sad for Justin that he didn't get to do what he wanted to once again. Warren Buffet didn't want him, his own team didn't want him, exchanges had troubles with him and now he got steem but lost it as well. Dude is basically a reverse magnet where he destroys everything he comes in contact with and everyone around him runs away from him as well.

Maybe he is not as bad of a dude as he lets off people think but he has to at least make some sort of effort to make sure his enthusiasm for tron is actually founded on something solid and not just because its "his coin". The way it is built right now, we just see a rich dude who made his own currency because he wanted to and plays with it thanks to all others who buy from it and does whatever he wants with others money.
3748  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does the bitcoin price go up and down correlation to the stock market? on: March 10, 2020, 08:44:47 AM
I doubt there is too much of a correlation but we can't say it is totally unrelated neither. Remember last years start, the stock market crashed like hell and then the price of bitcoin crashed like hell as well, then at the April or so the price got leveled out in stock market and it did here as well, now because of corona the dow jones are all going down and there is still some sort of drop in bitcoin as well.

I am not saying they are fully correlated and they always act together because they don't but there are some few times when it does and you will never know when it will act together and when it will not act together unfortunately, it is just a mystery to all of us and we only get to learn it after it happened which it doesn't help us out at all.
3749  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Leave crypto trading in lost condition is not an option. on: March 10, 2020, 08:06:40 AM
Well, there are people who make forex trading as a living or stock market investment as a living in some sort of way and there is nothing wrong with that. You can make crypto trading your income as well if you are too good.

I just think that it would be really difficult and would be very dangerous if you are not careful about it. Also when we are talking about traders that are doing it full time we are not talking about small timers, those people can't afford to live with the money they make, we are talking about people who have tens of thousands of dollars to spare and try something like this, I personally do not even have that much money for myself let alone to spare for trading, so they must know something better than me to have that kind of money to begin with.
3750  Economy / Speculation / Re: Value of technical analysis vs sentiment for you on: March 09, 2020, 06:00:51 PM
If we want to separate the two that is fine, however do we really have to separate them? Isn't the humans with emotions and sentiments that are building the technical analysis as well. If you ask me when a person wants to look at something positive on TA they have all the tools in their power to build something like that.

If they want to look at charts that looks promising they can find indicators and stuff that will make it look like bitcoin is going up, if they feel like bitcoin will go down they will find stuff that will make it look like it will go down. I have seen two different charts on the same day that showed different directions all because it used different timelines and different indicators, so it is possible. TA is not really that further away from sentiment.
3751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will 2020 be ETH's biggest year yet? on: March 09, 2020, 05:29:50 PM
There is this "building up" phase on ethereum nowadays that will probably show itself in 2021 and not this year. Right now there is development going on and there are many other companies and projects that are basing their situation on ethereums 2.0 upgrade to staking. As soon as it hits proof of stake and not mining there will be a ton of changes going on that will make the price skyrocket but until that moment I feel like it is probably just building up to that point and not doing anything right now.

The real deadline was January 2020 and that is why there was such a big topic for ethereum and such a huge increase as well but they missed that deadline, it looks like they may not do it at all in 2020 and that is the reason why it stopped, the moment they give an exact date we will definitely see a huge change.
3752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Hardware wallet really secure enough? on: March 09, 2020, 03:46:00 PM
In the end nothing in the world is "safe enough" if you look at it that way. Your cash could be stolen at any moment you step outside, your credit card information could be stolen when you are shopping, even money in your bank account could be hacked or worse when your national crisis reaches to a point they can get a hold of it and ban you from using it (Cyprus anyone?).

So, as long as you have money, there is no way you can keep it. Let me tell you what happened to my grandfather, he had a HUUUGE land in right at the heart of the city where I live, government tried to negotiate with him to buy that land from him so they can build a hospital, however they literally offered 2 years salary for it, now we are talking about one of the most crowded hospitals in our city and they offered just 2 years salary for that.

My grandfather of course declined, what happened? They just took it and courts basically punished the government and made them pay 2.5!! months salary worth of money, 2.5 months, it was basically nothing in the end, just a big zero for the biggest hospital in all of the city. Nothing is safe enough.
3753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Coronavirus never happened on: March 09, 2020, 08:13:49 AM
Honestly, until it moved out of China I was seeing it as unimportant as any other person here but since it moved to other nations as well and now the west is in danger of getting it, I can tell you that it might be really dangerous now for the financial world. I am not saying it is definitely a threat to economy of the world but I guess it is not a nothing neither now.

However, if the study is right (which usually turns out wrong but anyway) it is said that the virus can't defend itself against heat so the scientists are hoping that by this summer there will be no one with the virus. One of the reasons why there was close to none in southern hemisphere as well because their winter is actually summer and hot so I assume they are actually not getting affected since the virus dies at high heat.
3754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 08, 2020, 03:27:31 PM
Well, considering how many tickets champions league games are selling that is one thing but also there is always the jersey sales and other merchandise stuff as well and all of that collectively becomes a huge amount of loss for the teams. I think uefa or serie A or any other should finally get an agreement with the TV rights all around the world to increase when there is a game without any viewers, not huge a lot but a bit of difference and change would be nice.

It doesn't have to be for this corona virus because it is already too late and deals are made but for the future a deal that includes "if for any reason games are played without supporters, the price will be increased 5% for that game" type of rule would actually make teams lose a bit less amount of money in the future.
3755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What p2p games will you play? on: March 07, 2020, 08:40:00 PM
P2P games could be a great concept but I haven't seen any professional gambling site doing it. Lottery is a sort of mass P2P games but it's slow and non adventurous.
The site could just hold the coins and take away the commission. I have played rock paper scissor in faucethub that was fun playing P2P but the microwallet is closed now. And there also was a lightning gambling site that allowed P2P coin flip.
Yes such games would be fun and the casino should take profits from the winner only to be fair to the loser.

I sometimes wonder if there exist a sportsbook that could work on pvp basis and player could make bets against each other and avoid the massive house edge that is being taken by the bookies online. I mean dice is fine because there is 1% edge usually but sports betting have heavy house edge ranging from 10-20% varying on events and bookies.

The logic of pvp exist only where the games can be won using skills and not luck because any games that are based on luck you can always play such against the house for example dice and roulette. Lottery is the worst form of pvp because while you win against other players there is no skill involved at all.
3756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Supreme Court of India finally uplifts the ban on Cryptocurrencies in India on: March 07, 2020, 07:58:40 PM
For those who are unaware please read this : https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/a-long-road-ahead-for-bitcoin-exchanges/articleshow/74503190.cms

So, yes the ban has been lifted but there are some banks that are still waiting for the RBI to release notice for acceptance of bitcoin transactions through banks while some banks have already given green signal right away.

I believe now that a clear stance has been taken by the government there will be more and more legal exchanges and trading platforms but I doubt if there will be some special taxes or something on crypto transactions.
3757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Sad News]: Nigerian shot dead after resisting robbers access to crypto phone on: March 07, 2020, 06:35:05 PM
If life is not there, then what is the need for money? As the police station was nearby, he could've just gone there and asked for help. Though in situations like these, one hardly knows what to do next, and he did what he thought would be best for the time being. RIP
But, what he could have done when they believed he has 10k while he actually had only 400 as I was reading the article and the victim's friend was involved and he told the suspects that Iroro has 10k and when he caught beaten and tortured he only could give them 400 which is all he had. I believe what could save such things is the punishment must be severe and something like shot dead on the eye because if you can beat and kill someone for money then there is no reason there should be mercy shown towards you.

I often read that an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind, but then if there is no eye for an eye then there would be no fear among such criminals and such cases will only increase.

I feel so upset and angered for the little kids who lost their father for money, seriously something is wrong with people now days.
3758  Economy / Economics / Re: Can corona virus or any other epidemic disease can collapse Banking? on: March 07, 2020, 06:03:31 PM
Imagine Corona virus or any epidemic disease affected globally. As a result, all the economy will be affected and people will face hard time. Will not it bring an affect in economic balance? Which will turn into high inflation globally and it will result collapse of the banking system. Will it? In my country, the situation is getting worse for product which we are depended on China. I can see a significant inflation here if Corona Virus issue continued.
In most countries companies have allowed their staffs to stay indoors and work from home and there are some places that have locked down and people are no longer permitted in those places. I don’t really know how banks in other countries are handling this issue, but as for my country, banks are still functioning and their staffs are going to work every blessed working day from Monday to Friday lol.

I don’t know if it’s really possible for them to work from home, but they are doing their best at work to prevent infection. I guess  the next 10 to 20 days will be more crucial like where global economy will head from today's state. If there will be an anti-virus of corona then I guess we can restore everything in the matter of few weeks. Let's pray for that.
3759  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency can not replace fiat currency. on: March 07, 2020, 05:03:52 PM
Uuhm you’re right, it’s not everyone that can make use of cryptocurrency, just like other online payment systems like PayPal and Payoneer, there are people who are not interested in such things, some of them don’t even make use of internet banking that are provided by the banks.

But cryptocurrency will be adopted by the government, and it will play a major role in future. It’s not going to be a replacement for fiat, there is still going to be paper money and banks, we will have fiat but cryptocurrency will be another currency that will be created by the government. You should take JP coin as an example, it’s owned by a bank in the US and when it’s released it’s going to be a stable coin that’s pegged to the US dollars and customers of that bank will be able to convert their USD for the JP Coin which should probably be considered an asset. That’s how it’s going to be.
3760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Age restriction in gambling on: March 07, 2020, 09:30:14 AM
When I saw 5 years old is allowed, I tried searching where this country is. And Malawi is in Southern Africa.
Thanks for the information and actually their currency is called as Malawian Kwacha and 1 USD gets you 732 MW which shows us how terrible the condition must be in that country and I really feel for the people there.

The country had suffered poverty over the years, Country hardly recovered depression and still the exploitation of the large estate owners. Maybe at early stage people are resorting to gambling but its still quite not right to have it approved by law to allow 5 year old to gamble.
Maybe even the law is bound to make such decisions to get enough profit to run their government but I indeed agree that allowing a 5-year old kid to gamble is just like allowing him to take drugs and I don't know this country will recover in future because their condition is dire financially and they are not making wise decisions either.
