I was not able to find it, seems to be delisted already.

Still there - https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_silk

Market is still active on Poloniex.
Get those cheap coins!

Maybe midnight is the de-listing deadline. Or are they having a double thought? Are they actually considering to preserve the SILK exchange. That would be a wise move for them.
Bittrex is going to see some fireworks in the next weeks.
3742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big Finance Firms Now Want to Hire Bitcoiners as ‘Specialists’ on: September 05, 2016, 06:15:15 PM
Bitcoin is here to disrupt the old legacy system there's no possible integration.
Their private blockchains will not work and actually they seem not to work.
They pumped so much money into the blockchain world and what do they have achieved?
Nothing.

The only app is Bitcoin

I was interested in that change as well since I usually post my picks on the gambling thread. Good to know.

By the way, thanks for the payment
3744  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-09-05] Bitcoin: Will it be a major threat to our banks in 2017? on: September 05, 2016, 06:04:59 PM
In such a scenario, people will turn to gold.
Bitcoin's adoption is not that widespread for it to be considered as a safe asset for common people.
Banks have tided over bigger crises than this.  Smiley

Banks will not "tide over" a 19 TRILLION dollar hole of debt, when the interest payments come calling.

As for gold, there are logistics to it that are necessary to attend to, like making sure you aren't being sold gold-cladded garbage - like some in NYC found out when buying bars. Even coins aren't immune to potential counterfeit attempts. Unless you want to become an expert at assaying, you are taking a risk every time you trust a gold seller with your money. (Much like any other financial transaction.)

For me, I don't need the weight or the worry of verifying my coins or bars are "pure", I'd rather just have 6 confirms on my transactions and backups in suitable places as needed. Good luck getting gold across the border, they tend to frown on concentrated wealth moving out of the country.

Me, I'll just bounce my wealth to a secure location and travel with zero problems.

Thanks Bitcoin!

I'm all in on these words.
Bitcoin proved itself to be the best innovation since the internet itself. There 's no doubt about this. All the fuss about the "blockchain" will eventually whane and disappear.
Bitcoin is already challenging banks. If one uses Bitcoin he suddenly realize its potential.
I do hope that more and more young people will get on board.
If a teenager starts using bitcoin today he will refuse to have a bank tomorrow.

3745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Games Prediction Thread on: September 05, 2016, 05:59:08 PM
There are a lot of games to pick and bet on but they are also quite difficult: I am referring to the World Cup Qualifications.
I did some digging and found these as the most suitable games for a good parlay.

Israel - Italy Italy wins
Spain - Liechtenstein Spain to win + over 2,5 goals
Albania - Macedonia Albania wins
3746  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 05, 2016, 05:51:58 PM
Finally some green all over the major exchanges even though I expected a much bigger price rise. But I can't complain it's ok we crossed the 600 dollar mark. Now BTC needs to keep above it.

p.s. That Satoshi Nakamoto is such a character  Grin

I have to report that on Android 4.3 the app crashes at start unfortunately.

In any case I read and looked very closely what are the actual app functionalities and I'd say this is going to be something good. I do hope the development will continue because it can be a killer app!
Good DMD is a privileged coin in this sense.
3748  Economy / Speculation / Re: What did I tell you? BTC will stay down under $600 on: September 04, 2016, 09:40:33 AM
I have been saying this many times and falls under deaf ears. BTC will stay under $600 until the end of the year. But right now most of the people here are still in denial. Once they realize that it will really stay under $600 they will start getting angry. So expect many bearish threads and "bitcoin is dead" threads to come. Cheesy

I think you were clearly in denial when you wrote this non-sense. We got back to $600 and now your useless thread is here to stay to prove that your advice meant nothing.

3749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Games Prediction Thread on: September 04, 2016, 09:35:20 AM
For the first stages of the next World Cup 2018 I picked the following games

San Marino - Azerbaijan Azerbaijan wins
Denmark - Armenia Denmark wins
Kazakhstan - Poland Poland wins
Romania - Montenegro Draw
Norway - Germany Germany wins

Tell me if you guys have any suggestions since I would like to receive some feedback before placing my bet.
3750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Silk Network: Silk(SLK), DarkSilk(DSLK) and Weaver on: September 04, 2016, 09:16:48 AM
OK thanks
So what happens with the coins if they stay in our desktop wallets?
will they stake from 5th to 17th or not and will the amount staked on that period will be up for swapping to SLK?

Yes all coin created prior to the 17th will be eligable for swap.

Silkcoin(SILK) created once the Silk(SLK) market opens will no longer be eligable.
Cool and clear answer

Good news, so we can keep on staking those days to get a bit more silk and to continue to secure the network.
Are you guys aware that it is very important to keep the network up and running those days?
Keep staking if you can, ang get more coins.

We saw days like these over and over again, don't worry action will come. There's a bit of fun and enjoyment happening in the altcoin world at the moment. Let it be, let's just recap where we are.

Coindesk data

1 week
-4,62 $ -0,80%
1 month
-7,03 $ -1,21%
3 months
+18,48 $ +3,33%
1 year
+346,05 $ +152,22%

So, let's not forget that: if last year you would have bought 1 BTC now your BTC value would be 152% higher.

Think ahead  Wink

Good morning Bitcoinland.

No change... $580 on Bitcoinaverage.

When this thing finally breaks, it should be fun to watch. In the meantime, yawn.

Ahhhh, good things come to those that wait  Grin

Oh yes pal!
Found my phone LED blinking yesterday with the green colour: I said gooood. That was my price ticker going up to $600.

So where do we go from it now? I said some weeks ago that we had to wait for the summer to end to see some more fun. And it will come.

Very nice! These are the kind of initiatives that bring people, especially youngsters, to learn and to study what bitcoin is and what it could do. I hope this will succeed and that more will follow.

I repeat: Poloniex will realize that they made a very bad mistake. This was not some shitty altcoin sitting on their exchange. This coin is an example of resistance for what I saw since I started to follow the coin.
And now let's move onto bittrex
3755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Games Prediction Thread on: September 02, 2016, 06:58:45 AM
Portugal Win 5 goals without Ronaldo.
That is prove that Ronaldo isn't everything.
He just a player, lose 1 player,  they still have so many players.

He is the center of attraction to football, nowadays most kids only know either messi or ronaldo but they dont really realize that there are other football player as well though not as good as both messi or ronaldo. In the euro final, ronaldo wasnt even playing there and they did win the euro as well

Come on guys they played against Gibraltar, we could as well played for Gibraltar. 5 goals was the mininum for them. This Cristiano Ronaldo is necessary for this Portugal to win something (i.e. Competitions) after Ronaldo they 'll come back to where they started.

Good headline, I appreciated you exchanged the value in the article to represent it in BTC

Finally we know what we really drink, the original recipe was like that and the name and how we spell it says the rest.

(don't) Drink Coke

Super interesting stuff I must admit: I mean a real-world use of cryptocurrencies is what we are missing the most. This is going to be massive, I believe that this is the missing link we are meeting today. Once we can use crypto like we use fiat it's done.
And then people will start to see what has been achieved by the few.

Good
3758  Economy / Auctions / Re: Hero account for sale on: September 01, 2016, 02:27:53 PM
You're right,  its a couple months away from legendary.
[/quote]

The legendary rank works by this simple rule

Quote
You are guaranteed to become Legendary somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity

When this happens is not certain, so stating that in a couple of months you'll become legendary is false.
There are people here with 1000 activity and their are still hero members.
3759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 01, 2016, 02:22:12 PM

it well known that italian clubs fix and scams scores look how juve and Milan went several years ago they are very strict about this and they don't tolerate this

Juventus has gone back to the way they were however milan keeps on getting sillier day by day however since that they have a new owner right now perhaps they could be the way they were again. However the new owner doesnt seem to care about the club and hasnt give any significants funds for transfer window yet

I read the contract details between the Chinese Fund which is acquiring Milan and the club. The Chinese accepted to invest at least 350 million over a three years timespan. They could be enough to start all over again with new players.

2 proprietary Chinese companies of Inter and Ac Milan are behaving completely differently. Inter bought many players and has invested heavily ( Banega , Joao Mario , Gabigol ). Milan has not bought anyone. The milan ac could have taken players on loan with the right of redemption and pay next year

Well... Erick Thohir, owner of Inter Milan, happens to be Indonesian and not chinese.
Anyway, I said that the new owners of AC Milan stated they have a plan to spend those 350mln in 3 years: they are not going to spend them all today. Also some contract clauses still need to be matched.
3760  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-08-31] Blockchain and the promise of cooperative cloud storage on: September 01, 2016, 06:56:09 AM
Blockchain technology allows distributed retention of encrypted data and is at the heart of cooperative cloud storage.
Given that crypto-currency bitcoin is the poster-child for blockchain technology, it’s no surprise that much of the blockchain fuss – and, indeed, much of the actual blockchain work – is focused on payment systems and related areas such as invoicing and tax reporting.
