3741  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin ATMs forced to shutdown in the UK on: March 12, 2022, 09:14:29 AM
I’ve used various atms from 2017 - 2019 around the UK - never had any KYC. A few atms wanted some KYC details for over Ł500 , but you could do multiple transactions up to Ł500. BUT, the fees were crazy - minimum 7.5%.
7.5% fee minimum? That's crazy high. I was using BATM from 2017 up until 2021 (No KYC whatsoever, no matter the amount) and fees were around 5% which for me was already high. The last straw was when they increased fee up to 7%, and Ive been 'mostly avoiding them ever since. I know that owners have a lot of expenses (ATM itself, renting the place, paying taxed etc) but I simply don't wanna give them 7% of my money/BTC. For that amount I'll rather do it some other way and nowadays we don't lack options.

So, why do we need a physical machine, location to exchange Bitcoin. It breaks the core idea behind Bitcoin network.
I don't get this part; why is BATM against the "core idea behind Bitcoin network", can you please elaborate more on this? I don't know if you ever used Bitcoin ATMs, but all transactions there are done on blockchain, so for example when you are selling your BTC you have to send it to designated address, wait for a couple of confirmations and then you pick up the money.

3742  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: March 12, 2022, 08:57:12 AM

I fully support this idea, and I would also suggest disabling the merits in this thread in order to prevent competitors from motivating voters in this way.
Good, idea but was that ever done before? I mean wouldn't that mean theymos would have to intervene and make this specifically for this contest? Imho, more elegant solution would be to simply disqualify anyone that merits the voters, like @GazetaBitcoin and few others suggested. In the end, it goes in line with bitcoin philosophy about personal responsibility.

That's a terrible idea: anyone can vote on a poll, which makes (alt) abuse very easy.
In some others forums that I am active on and that are much older than bitcointalk they have the option to make poll voting public, so everyone can see who voted for who. Would something like that be possible to implement here as well, forum software wise?
3743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What happend to these Dex on: March 11, 2022, 11:23:40 AM
I've heard about etherdelta and idex but not anymore, can anyone share what happened to these two exchanges?
Etherdelta founder was fined by SEC in the late 2017 for operating unregistered exchange which he then sold to someone else and that was pretty much the end for Etherdelta. Regarding IDEX, I have no idea what happened to them.
3744  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin ATMs forced to shutdown in the UK on: March 11, 2022, 11:14:23 AM
I'm not sure what does that mean exactly, but I'm assuming it's because most of these ATMs don't require identity verification unless you're buying/selling large amounts?
One of the problems might also be the fact that they are not registered at FCA to offer ATM services

None of the crypto-asset firms registered with us have been approved to offer crypto ATM services, meaning that any of them operating in the UK are doing so illegally and consumers should not be using them.

What are your thoughts on this?
I am no surprised that goverment agencies are getting stricter when it comes to ATMs and any other way that enables you to cash out without doing KYC. In my country BTCATM I use occasionally doesn't ask for KYC no matter the amount you are taking out and I know its just a matter of time when they change that here as well.

Then again, if you remove the advantage of not having to do KYC while keeping high fees (which ATMs usually have) they might become completely obsolete.
3745  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: March 11, 2022, 10:56:27 AM
I would call them "sup fellas..." spammer fellowship.
Hah yeah, I guess person behind those sock pupper accounts is a big Scary Movie fan Cheesy

they all have an identical way of writing, just a few of them from Mavatrix thread (this is how every post starts, I cut out the rest of the nonsense)
wazzup fellas, I have a question.
I quoted Indacoin as I think that there is a big chance that this account was either sold or hacked. That's the official Indacoin account here on bitcointalk and AFAIK Indacoin is a legit crypto exchanger and somehow I doubt they would bother with thread bumping. Then again, looking at their bpip profile, I don't see any email or password change.

3746  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: March 11, 2022, 10:07:59 AM
Another group of ANN threads that hired bumping service just discovered. If anyone has any doubt about what's going on, just look at the screenshot below and the same group of 7 accounts working across at least 6 threads. There are probably more but this was enough to make a point and provide enough proof.

Ann threads:
Horizon Protocol is a differentiated DeFi platform
[ANN] Cypherdog - innovative company operating in the IT, cyber security sector.
MAVATRIX, THE LEGEND OF REWARDS!
[ANN] WELCOME TO PKT! Internet By The People, For The People!
[ANN] Affyn - Reimagine a Play-to-Earn Metaverse
[ANN] ROBO INU FINANCE The community-owned crypto inspired by NASA

On top of writing in same threads, some accounts also have certain similarities when it comes to merit: 2 Member rank accounts used Bordijo and Efarilino got 10 merit each from two merit giveaway threads, [Merit] Hey Newbies! Can You Sign A Message? and [Merit] Hey Bitcoiners! Can You Send Encrypted Messages? which then they used to rank up other at accounts. That's just the tip of the iceberg though as several other accounts that can be connected to this group did the same; they got the merit from those merit giveaway threads and then shared them to their alts.

Totalno suludo, sto ce naravno dovesti do dodatnog snizavanja kvalitete filmova.

For the 94th Oscars (2022) and 95th Oscars (2023), submitting a confidential Academy Inclusion Standards form will be required for Best Picture consideration, however meeting inclusion thresholds will not be required for eligibility in the Best Picture category until the 96th Oscars (2024).

For the 96th Oscars (2024), a film must meet TWO out of FOUR of the following standards to be deemed eligible:

STANDARD A:  ON-SCREEN REPRESENTATION, THEMES AND NARRATIVES
To achieve Standard A, the film must meet ONE of the following criteria:

A1. Lead or significant supporting actors

At least one of the lead actors or significant supporting actors is from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group.
• Asian
• Hispanic/Latinx
• Black/African American
• Indigenous/Native American/Alaskan Native
• Middle Eastern/North African
• Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander
• Other underrepresented race or ethnicity

A2. General ensemble cast

At least 30% of all actors in secondary and more minor roles are from at least two of the following underrepresented groups:
• Women
• Racial or ethnic group
• LGBTQ+
• People with cognitive or physical disabilities, or who are deaf or hard of hearing

A3. Main storyline/subject matter

The main storyline(s), theme or narrative of the film is centered on an underrepresented group(s).
• Women
• Racial or ethnic group
• LGBTQ+
• People with cognitive or physical disabilities, or who are deaf or hard of hearing

3749  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SAFFU SCAM! Team changed tokens amount at the middle of the bounty campaign on: March 09, 2022, 12:24:55 PM

Update : SAFUU update contact them directly we transferred the spreadsheet to them. We are no longer running that bounty.
If you and your team did a proper research on SAFUU CEO, you would never even even accept to run their bounty so all this mess could have been avoided.

So, person behind Safuu is Bryan Legend, but his real name is Bryan Seiler and he is a serial scammer, so this is not his first rodeo. Before Safuu, he had 3 projects that failed miserably: Fitrova, Tagz and Clever DeFi. Feel free to google his name and the projects he was behind. As a matter of fact, there is even a scam accustaion thread here on bitcointalk, that mentions him  and his previous endevours TAGZ is a SCAM

all of a sudden they changed the bounty pool to 2000 tokens.
By the time they finish with this, these 2000 tokens will be worthless. They might have as well keep it at 20000 as in the end its going to be the same thing.

Well, the project were offering a grand 382,945.41% APY in 12 months, that's 3,829 times of your initial investment in one year, I wouldn't be so surpised if they have something fishy like a rug-pull build up being cooked in their kitchen.
This will of course end up badly, how can someone believe that kind of APY is sustainable in any longer period than a couple of weeks/months. This has scam written all over it and I am surprised to see experienced bounty managers being part of a shitty project like this.
3750  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / Re: Kutak za kulturni trenutak on: March 09, 2022, 11:47:29 AM

3751  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: March 09, 2022, 10:17:32 AM

https://card.ftx.com/

3752  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Crypto Debit Cards on: March 09, 2022, 10:00:02 AM
It was one important missing bit in the competition against Binance. Now their offers are (at least in my eyes/on what interests me) on similar level.
Same thing here, I was waiting for FTX to finally release their card as that is the only thing that keeps me using Binance.

I'll follow the FTX card story, I'm very curious if they can make it better and more reliable than Binance's, while keeping it (almost) for free. It is possible.
To be honest, they will have to offer quite a lot of things to make people leave Binance card as at the moment it's pretty reliable. The biggest issue for me when it comes to Binance card is daily ATM withdrawal limit, 290 euro just ain't enough. If FTX increases that, offer cashback that's easy to obain (1-2 % would be good enough for me) and be as reliable as Binance card is, it will be a no brainer for me. Either way, it's definitely good news as competition is good for us users.

3753  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Cashlon Casino - plagiarized whitepaper from Mintdice on: March 09, 2022, 09:42:25 AM
That's a great find, Rikafip. I'm sure this will impact their plans at least a little.
Well, I do hope that I at least messed up their plans about having bounty campaign here as I am pretty sure that no decent manager with touch this with a ten foot pole. They might find someone willing to do the job nevertheless as forum doesn't lack those willing to promote scams in exchange for a couple of $.

They did act in line with their name, after all, their ticker was named "CLON".  Grin
Haha my thought exactly when I saw that they took some stuff from Mintdice.

Regarding their team, I believe you're right. Neither Google, nor Facebook, nor Twitter, nor LinkedIn find anyone named "Mark Deltan". I have yet to meet a CEO of a company who hasn't left a digital footprint online. No matter how small. Even if he lived under the rock all this time, there would have been mentions of it somewhere.
Yeah, names do sound too generic and as I said, that was the the first suspicious thing that I noticed, that made me check it a little bit deeper. Regarding CEO, his Instagram account is private and I don't plan to create the account and follow him just so I am sure whether he is real or not as at this moment it wouldn't change anything even if he  exists.
3754  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Alternative CoinMarketCap stranici on: March 08, 2022, 06:42:45 PM

Hey @julerz12, I made a thread in scam accusation board about Cashlon being a scammy project that took content from bunch of other sources without referencing. Thread link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5388874.msg59463831#msg59463831
3756  Economy / Scam Accusations / [SCAM] Cashlon Casino - plagiarized whitepaper from Mintdice on: March 08, 2022, 03:41:07 PM
What happened; as the title says, Cashlon took content from s everal different sources (MintDice, Fasttoken, Investopedia) without adding it to the reference. While it's trie that they did include some less important ones, they decided not to include rest of it as it would be obvious that they written very little by themselves and that majority of their whitepaper material is taken from others.

Screenshot on the left is comparison between Cashlon and Fasttoken medium article. As you can see, they are unable to write even this kind of project explanation and have to take it from someone else.

There is bunch of other copy/paste examples, especially from Investopedia that weren't referenced at all. Here are few exampes:

There’s one certainty in gambling—nothing is left to chance. The house always comes out the winner in the end. A casino is a business, not a charitable organization throwing free money away. Like any other business, it has a business model in place designed to ensure its profitability. No matter what game you choose to play, the odds of the casino winning your money are greater than the odds of you winning the casino’s money. That’s because all casino games are designed to provide the house with a built-in edge, diminishing the chances and size of potential payouts.

Many people who are aware of the house edge still don’t really grasp its implications for their bankrolls. They believe that the roughly 5% edge the house has at the roulette table means that they can reasonably expect to sit down with $100, gamble for a few hours, and the odds are that they will only lose about $5. They fail to understand that the house edge doesn’t apply to their starting bankroll, but to the total amount they wager. The longer you play, the greater the odds are that the result of your play will match up with the house edge. A player may well be ahead in the short term, but over the long haul the house edge will eventually grind them down into unprofitability.

But all this really started when I check their website and saw their team. I've busted quite a few scams and saw enough fake team members so I can regognise when something fishy is going on. Maybe I am just too paranoid, but all these names sound to me like they were taken from some name generator. Add on that no social media profiles (all they have really are links to their Tg profiles, expect CEO who has Instagram account as well).

Given the evidence, I think it's pretty much obvious what is going on here; another lazy scammy altcoin project. Looking at the comment made by OP (@julerz12) they planned to have a bounty campaign as well to spread this scam further which I  kinda doubt it will happen now.
3757  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ukrainian Scam Donation Posts and Users on: March 08, 2022, 10:44:37 AM
Yet another scammer attempting to profit from this ongoing situation by creating an useless token that will allegedly be used to help the people but we all know that he will only help himself with donated money. They invested a little bit more effort though than a regular scammer just sharing address as they launched the website as well, to appear more legit.

Ann thread is of course self-moderated so he can easily delete all warnings.

So you mean that this scam exchange is developed by him ?
Yep, its the same group of people that are behind that website and those that are advertising it.

Not many people are that much capable. Even i don't know how to make an exchange website. If he had so much talent that he can develop his own exchange, why not he use his skills in positive manner  Huh
What you have to understand is that this Top-Trade-X is not an exchange but just a scammy website, which is immensely easier to create than an actual exchange. The sole purpose of that website is to lure you into depositing your own money (after they send some numbers to your account) it usually doesn't have any other typical exchange functionality like exchanging currencies, trading etc. Another thing that they might do is to ask you for KYC and that way they can use your documents for scamming others.
3759  Economy / Services / Re: ✅✅✅Easy job! Urgently need a person to work.✅✅✅ on: March 08, 2022, 07:16:51 AM
He didn't ask me to deposit anything but i did not agree to work from him.
No worries, once you try to withdraw the money from that scam exchange, then they would ask you to deposit something in order to confirm your legitimacy, or whatever bullshit reason they come up with.

What if he had that hacked account and he wanted to transfer the fund to me and i may get into trouble  Huh
What you have to understand is that there are no funds there, its a scam and he is behind that "ëxchange" so all he would do is transfer some numbers to your account.

One small tip: when adjusting image size, you don't have to insert codes for both height and width as either of those things is enough and the other will adjust automatically. This way your images won't be distorted like they are now.

I would probably get on the nearest plane and fly to the main office of the exchange, because the amount is quite large, if the correspondence does not work out, then there are lawyers who can help, consult a good lawyer and everything will work out.
Heh, it's no so easy as you may think. Exchanges have TOS written in a way that they can always find some bullshit reason why they take your money so good luck with  getting your money back via lawsuit, in a foreign country. By the way, I am not saying that people shouldn't fight if they are 100% certain that they haven't done anything wrong and can afford it, but in vast majority of cases you will just end up wasting even more money.

This case just surprises me.
Surprising? Not at all. I would say business as usual when it comes to leaving large amount of money on centralized exchange.
