3761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we make BTC mainstream? on: March 22, 2014, 06:43:33 PM
Bitcoin will make itself mainstream because it is a superior currency. It doesn't need any marketing campaign.

While it is very good currency, there are many competitors and I dare to say nothing much will happen without good marketing. My experience tells me that good product is not enough.
The internet didn't have any marketing to speak of.

Technologies with real utility, real practicality, real value, don't need "marketing".

Marketing is an industry that was invented to sell people shit they don't need or want. It's psychological warfare.

You realize, of course, that google's search suggestions are tuned to your personal search history, right?
This also confirmed by all his posts, everyone is welcome to search the OP's post history and see for themselves, a troll? or a hater?
Probably a bankster shill who is afraid of losing his job.

Who will defend us from the ignorant government-controlled media puppets now.
The truth defends itself by being self-evident. All you need to do is wait, just as atheists who are old enough to remember religious-dominance have been doing for most of their lives.
3764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin had existed in 1930... on: March 22, 2014, 05:39:10 PM
wouldnt be very useful pre- computer/ mobile
It's a hypothetical scenario - forget the technical impossibility and just imagine that cryptocurrency (or some other, real-money global non-fiat currency exactly like it) existed.

Follow the logic of the individuals and play out the game theory.

Germans would've bailed out of their tin-pot dictator's fiat currency, opting instead for crypto - just like struggling Argentinians are doing RIGHT NOW as we speak.

Make no mistake, this technology will help humanity transcend the need for both bloody revolutions and bloody wars.

It is absolutely a step in the right direction, away from the dominance of the nation-state and toward empowering the individual.
3765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin reputability on: March 22, 2014, 05:35:35 PM
Looks like hard science to me!

Welp, time to sell all our bitcoins, guize!!
3766  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterflylabs legit? on: March 22, 2014, 05:34:22 PM
Just buy bitcoins straight up, rather than over-priced, delivered-late (if ever) mining software scams.
3767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin had existed in 1930... on: March 22, 2014, 03:39:46 PM
How bitcoin could stop Hitler and the second World War?  Cheesy
Hyperinflation in Germany post-WW1 resulted largely from Germany mass-printing to pay off their war reparations to neighboring nations. This hyperinflation led to a horrible depression to the point where Germans were filling wheelbarrows of money to pay for a loaf of bread.

They were poor and desperate as that nation's people had never before been. They were ashamed, and they began to felt like slaves - hopeless and resentful (sound familiar, American$?).

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Then along came a charismatic leader who promised to return Germany to its GLORY DAYS of the past, assuring everyone that Germans were a MASTER RACE and deserved their place on the throne atop the world. As a nation that was broken economically, there was only one way for Hitler to fulfill his promises...

war.

Reread those 3 paragraphs and replace "hyperinflation" with "all German people bail out of German fiat and into crypto to avoid having their wealth destroyed (=stolen by government) via hyperinflation.

Viola, no Hitler, no war.
3768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY does the media have so much control over Bitcoin price? on: March 22, 2014, 05:26:43 AM
Because most people are very stupid.
3769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we make BTC mainstream? on: March 22, 2014, 05:25:17 AM
Step 1: Wait three to five years
Step 2: Huh
Step 3: Profit.
3770  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to prove Bitcoin transactions to a bank? on: March 22, 2014, 05:09:41 AM
The better question is, how can a bank prove its utility in the era of cryptocurrency?

Spoiler: It can't, not anymore that blockbuster rentals can prove their value in the era of the torrent.
3771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I loaned you 1 bitcoin today, how could i expect you to repay if value rises? on: March 22, 2014, 05:08:22 AM
Right, we just need to get back to the "good old days" of capitalism.
Bitcoin, with the monetary freedom it provides, is a giant leap in the right direction.
On that point, we agree. Cryptocurrency is an incredibly powerful technology for liberation.
3772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I loaned you 1 bitcoin today, how could i expect you to repay if value rises? on: March 22, 2014, 05:03:22 AM
whats wrong with capitalism?
If you have to ask this question, congratulations you live an extremely privileged life, pretty much in a bubble from the awfulness of the rest of the world. Typical westerner.

whats wrong with capitalism?

The better question is where can we find capitalism? All I see is corporatism.
Right, we just need to get back to the "good old days" of capitalism.

When was that exactly, when women were property? The slavery era? Capitalism is a horror show, and it's only getting worse until it's dead.

3773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I loaned you 1 bitcoin today, how could i expect you to repay if value rises? on: March 22, 2014, 03:41:32 AM
If I loaned you 1.00000000 bitcoin's today, which has a value somewhere around the arbitrary number of whatever value $600 i really supposed to represent, With a 10 year term.

If bitcoin rises in dollar value over 10 years by a multiple of 10, or the dollar devalues by a factor of 10, how could I reasonably expect repayment of the original loan of 100 million satoshi's.
Debt is slavery, if you give me a dollar, don't ever expect it back. There's a reason bitcoin transactions are one-way, just like cash.

If I'm so poor that I need to borrow money to meet my needs, my society has FAILED at both equality and solidarity.

Did I mention fuck capitalism?

Because fuck capitalism.

lol jesus christ I can't believe people like you exist
That's what religious folk have been saying about atheists for a long, loooong time. Every day there are less religo-bots and more free-thinking, reasoned human beings.

Your time will come soon too, capitalist.
3774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you explain BTC to a friend or family member that has no idea? on: March 22, 2014, 03:40:27 AM
My family thinks I'm crazy for believing that BTC will succeed. I'm trying to educate those close to me about the benefits of BTC but can't seem to find the right words. Any help?
Solution:

Have you and your family members take IQ tests together, after getting results, explain to them that they should just STFU and listen to you.
3775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin had existed in 1930... on: March 22, 2014, 03:39:00 AM
LOL but no.
Fractional reserve, money creation, credits etc. are actually needed to move forward.

Good thing then that Bitcoin already has moved forward with the fractional banking that MtGox did?

Why is more money needed? Real wealth is the houses, machines, foods, services and other goods that we produce. If more money solves anything, why not just add an extra zero to all the bank accounts every year and we'd soon all be trillionaires?

3777  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Popescu'd need not be a verb nor a discussion. All say aye.., say AYE!, "AYE!" on: March 22, 2014, 03:34:47 AM
Who is this Mircea Popescu and what has he done ?
My favorite poster here, easily one of the smartest and most crypto-knowledgey legends to ever grace this forum.

OP stinks of envy.

The Feds are hunting Mircea Popescu...
So what you're saying is that Mircea is a hero of truth and justice, than? I mean, if the fucking FEDS are after him/her...

I am on your side.  I don't want to shout it out too loud though.  I want to engage discussion.  We, as a community, need to stand up against potential dictators.  Are we not supposed to be all about decentralisation?  If so, let's commit to that very concept when it comes to choosing leadership.   Bitcoin is becoming very powerful and power corrupts, like it or not.  We have a duty of care to protect ourselves and each other, and ensure that the bitcoin code prevents such ills.  Bitcoin will only ever succeed if we allow it to do what it is meant to do.  In my view, it is only a matter of time until we all hand over trust to mathematics.  I can't wait!
Now that there is a great post.
3778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi was a "genius", then why do BTC transactions take so long? on: March 22, 2014, 02:36:43 AM
Because Satoshi is almost as intelligent as you are unintelligent, OP.
3779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Critical Importance Of Cryptocurrencies - What's your take? on: March 22, 2014, 02:35:24 AM
This is the exact reason reason why people are jumping on the cryptocoin wagon, but some will be overtaken by greed.
The current fiat system is on purpose designed to enslave people through interest and at the end of it will fall so that many people loose their material life.
Interest is forbidden by God/Allah since it is an injustice system, and so are illegal collected taxes - I mean they are both from the same source (the Illuminati of whatever name you wanna give them).
Poor people are taken advantage of and the [antisemitism redacted] bankers and governments get richer and enjoy seeing people fail miserably.
Quoted for truth.
3780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: on what condition can people have fath for bitcoin just like for gold? on: March 22, 2014, 02:32:02 AM
Condition? It's not about conditions, it's about IQ, and ability to learn - and more importantly - unlearn.
