I agree with the opening post. I'm starting to look at the purchase of alternative cryptos, and the claiming of my forked coins. I did have a look at the trading boards, but I didn't feel safe or comfortable with the trading that was going on there.
If Bitcoin Talk offers members who can be trusted to act as escrow, it ought to be able to list members who can be trusted enough not to need escrow. I've bought Bitcoin in three transaction with JackG, and I haven't felt that I needed escrow. I'm sure that there are several other members who are just as trustworthy.
I wouldn't trust PayPal though, I still believe it to be more concerned with its profits, than the welfare of its users.

Oh dear, another new member who is going to throw away the chance of future riches by scratching in the gutters of the bounties and airdrops.
Please don't try to drag us down with you with low level spam in your quest.

I know someone, they have a lot of merit in their account. They don't want to share it.
You don't "share" merit or sMerit. For an explanation of the Bitcoin Talk merit system, please read my article. - https://talkmerit.com/the-source/index.php/articles/the-bitcoin-talk-merit-systemThere is no real benefit to be gained from hanging on to sMerits. Awarding them doesn't decrease your merit total. The only advantage in saving your sMerits is that you have some to award when you find a really good post. This doesn't apply to merit sources, as their merits are replaced 30 days after they are awarded. The real problem is finding post to reward. Every sMerit that stays in my bag delays its replacement, so all those bad posts that slow down the awarding of merits, actually decrease the number of merits to be awarded.

I see I have slipped to 320 now that I am following OgNasty's advce to stop starting threads.
I suspect that a lower profile may lead to a quieter life. As a Legendary and a merit source, I don't need to earn any merits, so this could help me to avoid those annoying conflicts that seem to come from high activity.
I'm still looking for good posts to award with merits though.

Aside from the issue with people's proficiency with English, there's the separate but very much related issues of the content of what's being written and the motivation behind why people are trying to write in a language that they obviously can't use effectively to communicate. The language issue wouldn't be so contentious if it weren't for the fact that most of the indecipherable gibberish posts wouldn't be worth reading even if they were written in perfect English.
Part of the problem with learning English is that it has become the lingua franca for world trade and communicaton. This has led to the craetion of a wide variety of dialects and vocabularies. There is quite a difference between received English and American for example, and political correctness seems to have led the BBC to drop their role in helping to preserve good pronunciation.

I don't merit boards, I merit good posters.
As has been mentioned many times, awarding merits for reportung posts and bad behaviour is open to abuse, and should not be encouraged.

Thanks for the mention of the Fit to Talk project.
I started it for two reasons - one was to help members from "emerging economies" to improve their English communication skills. This will help Bitcoin to become a global store of wealth for other than the wealthy bankers.
Another reason was more for my personal interest. I'm anti the deep state that has morphed from the old British Empire, and I would like to know more about the countries that are being destroyed and taken over by this new banking/pharma elite. Obvious examples are Greece and Venezuela. I hope that Bitcoin Talk members in these countries can start threads about their local economic conditions, and how crypto currencies are helping them to cope with economic disadvantages. These threads can be posted on the political board here, and hopefully they will stimulate some good discussions.
Members who are unsure of their English can make a starter post in Fit to Talk, and we can optimise it for subsequent posting in Bitcoin Talk. You will get full credit for creating these topics. You shouldn't use Google translate to create threads for Bitcoin Talk, but, as we are more interested in your opinion, you are allowed to do this on FtT. The sanitised post can then be copied onto a Bitcoin Talk board. To avoid charges of plagiarism, we insist that you use your Bitcon Talk name to join Fit to Talk.

Welcome, and I gave you a merit for your first post. I hope that this will encourage you to continue in your quest.
Being a woman won't limit you in this forum. We have some very knowledgeable and intelligent women who post here quite regularly, and they are farmore valuable to the forum than the male spambies who seem to infest someof the boards.
I weas interested in your comment about your country disadvantaging women, and I hope you can comment on this on the political board here.

As probably the oldest member of Bitcoin Talk, I can confirm that it has been proven scientifically that people who have more birthdays live longer. Why would anybody want to reduce their birthday count?

Don't tell anyone - they will think you are an alt. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I'd post there more often if they got rid of the spambies, and the bounty hunters low value stuff. I looked through your post history ( the OP ), and I managed to award 5 merits spread over 3 post. Now you are ready for the next rank. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Patience would enable you avoid panic sales, and you'll also be able to hodl your coins till you're comfortable selling off..
A good trader can make more money in a bear market than a bull market. HODLing isn't an option in this case. In fact an uncovered bear with gearing runs the risk of getting wiped out pretty quickly, if the whales decide on a temp. pump to squeeze out the bears. I would advise against short term trading until you find out about Bitcoin's differences. I find Carl from The Moon interesting, but there are several other You Tube posters who make good and informed videos. This is Carl's latest video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYxFWOEbuPU

Some people enjoy the drama. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ps. not me - I think it's boring, and should be sorted by pm, or on a ban appeal sub-board.

Technical analysis, if you’re trading is probably the most important thing still.
I'm not sure that is true of Bitcoin, unless you are a day trader, or trying to earn in a bear market of course. For a long term investor ( a couple of years or more ), the fundamentals are more important in my opinion. The price seems to be heavily manipulated at the moment, and many a forecast based on TA seems to be self-fulfilling. I suspect that this is the result of whale manipulation in periods of low activity. Other factors such as the hash war surrounding the Bitcoin Cash fork can also have an impact on the price.

Sodium Bicarbonate ( or baking soda) has other benefits for coffee drinkers. Coffee is acid, and drinking several cups can disrupt the acid balance in your stomache. This can lead to reflux. If you add a pinch of bicarb to your coffee, you won't notice any difference in flavour, but the alkaline bicarb will help to reduce the acid level without any side effects.

WQe don't have a health care system inBritain. We have a system of symptom suppression and pain relief with the use of drugs. We also have a system where healthy people are drugged and vaccinated to weaken their immune systems. This means that there is a never ending market for the poisonous and useless drugs that are dispensed.
Blockchain won't help to reduce costs. Blocking most of the prescribed pharmaceuticals would be a greater help. Blocking the sale of hospitals to the banking elite, and stopping them from charging high rents would be another benefit.

I'm fortunate in that I am no longer a city dweller, and I travel around quite a lot. This means I am able to harvest the food that nature provides. It is healthier, and it is free. Nettles, dandelions, wild garlic, clover and many other plants provide a healthy diet at no cost. Roadkill pheasant and deer are also good sources of meat.
Plants that have had to struggle for survival ( ie. what most peope call weeds) contain more nutrients and fewer poisons, and are fresher, than their cultivated varieties, who have had a pampered life in preparation for the long and slow journey to your larder via the supermarket shelves.

English is my first language. How can I help?
There are three things that can help. One is entering into English language discussions with "overseas" members. Another is making suggested improvements to posts, this help members to consolidate their knowledge. The editing of posts for the translation project is a bit more complex, but comments in the preparatory thread are always welcome. If you want to help, then please send a pm to my JetAid alt here in the forum.

What a dreadful opening post. I hope any members hoping to increase their rank will learn from the mistakes in it.
- It is a tired old topic with no new information. - The formatting is dreadful, and I didn't bother to read most of it. - I see the merit begging has been removed, that is enough to get you put on ignore on its own.
Anyway - I put the OP on ignore, so no merits for him in my weekend merit giveaway.

it is complete absurdity. How can you compare forum post and killing?
Low value posts from bounty hunting spammers kill threads, and, if left unpunished, will eventually kill the forum.
