That's absurd. A) If the Chinese stop increasing hash power will the rest of the world? B) China has excess capacity and pumping into Bitcoin is really a good indirect way for them to store electricity. Ideally, the West needs a less wasteful solution. Not sure if you heard the news, but China plans to ban its people to move Bitcoin outside the nation. It's not possible. This is sound stupid by the way but then it's just rumor for people to dump BTC as BTC jumping so quick and so high. Shorts panic then spreading rumor. The purpose of BTC is decentralized and it's not possible to control. One way is user simply move their Bitcoin from Chinese exchange then they can do anything or send anywere they want. It's digital money. Bits and bytes flowing thru the net. They can control the outflow in many ways. |

It is shocking to many people that Trump won the Presidential election when people were laughing at him just last year. I still think this is not the end for Ixcoin and the miners will be back supporting this coin after accumulating enough coins. Nothing is impossible in this world now. All the other altcoins are just hyped to accumulate more bitcoin. Remember bitcoin was manipulated many times in the early days.
Many were laughing at him just months ago. I never got why, given he resonates with the majority of Americans. As for IXC - we'll see, maybe we'll get our own upset and then we can make crypto great again. |

Predicted over 1 year ago, when Trump was seen as a joke! I still think Trump is gonna win. And hopefully he'll actually take office. He's either gonna totally transform America or finish the job started by his predecessor. Either way it should be amazing to watch unfold. Gotta figure out how to get Mr. Trump some IXC.  Edit: I just woke up in Europe and didn't realize the results were in. TRUMP WON!!! This really was so predictable. They even had Wikileaks on the job. Now let's hope something great comes out of it. Hey, it will at least be very different than the stuffed puppets we've had so far.

Here comes the Phoenix! --- Two days ago, when the news came up, I've created a thread ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1668584.0) in the Mining section, but I think this is important to know as it could affect altcoins as well. For those who are lazy enough to check the thread, this is what the Chinese are currently doing: http://www.cybtc.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=16490   I tried to make some calculations based on S9 miners, because no hash power is announced and I came up with ~1500PH (assuming they somehow improve their miners, or they are using slightly better tech). For those of you who doesn't know what that means, I will only say that world's Bitcoin hash power is about 2000 PH. Bitcoin mining is going to be even more centralized, not to mention that the diff. will go through the roof. EDIT: Its important to say that I first came up with 150PH, but I've miscalculated a zero (Peter Todd's tweed made me do it again: https://twitter.com/petertoddbtc/status/794206373651288064) I think its time to turn our heads to some altcoin (my best guesses are LTC and XCP). |
