We can’t really judge after FP1.  That’s why I don’t really watch these until FP3 when the results somewhat starts to matter.  That’s when the car is tweaked mostly right for the driver to go to quali then some small tweaks for the race.

But what I see based in the results is it looks like Hamilton is trying to make a statement from the get go.  No sand bagging.  Grin

^  The next bunch of matches could be easier for making Majestic 7 picks imho..  Except for maybe Aston Villa vs Wolves.  It could end in a draw with nil - nil.  I feel like the rest of the matches should get some goals from the usual goal scorers.

Edit:  Just realized...  It’s an international break.  Now that changes things.  These matched could may very well end with nil - nil draws.  -_-

^  We’ll see...  I really feel like Dern could start getting uncomfortable in there after eating a couple of solid punches from Rodriguez.

Rodriguez also had the tougher competition moving on up the rankings.  And her last match was vs Waterson who’s a slightly better wrestler than Dern imho.  I think Rodriguez defended Waterson’s TD attempts well.  I gotta watch that match again.

Edit:  Here it is!

Going to watch it now...

Edit:  Go straight to the third round.  Rodriguez is nasty.  Dern would have to take it to the ground early.

Weigh ins in a couple of hours.

This is weird..  I’ve been whining that BTC is dragging everything down with it when it goes down.  Now it seems it’s going up fast and it’s leaving everything else behind.  Cheesy  Can’t really complain but I feel like it’s one of those things with the market when it goes BTC up, alts flat - BTC down, alts down more.  I think the last leg of this bull market is all BTC.  What do you guys think?
3785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 06, 2021, 08:38:16 PM
^  I can’t disagree.  Dern should win it and the books lined her to win it, but dunno..  I think Rodriguez is just that good of a striker to win the match.  And remember how Rodriguez was lined to be a 3 to 1 underdog vs Ribas?  Different story when leather starts getting thrown to the face.  It could happen again here.

I really don't follow DWCS so this is an honest question, but what are the numbers regarding ratings and how is the fan reception to it? Just based on my short time viewing it I really don't find it entertaining or that interesting. When Dana White Looking For A Fight was first out I thought that it had a cool concept that grasped the viewer's attention and had some entertaining value. However, DWCS is just flat and not much more than a televised local promotion. But that's just my 2 cents.
You are wrong, and good thing you are not any factor for this, you should just look how many DWCS fighters signed for UFC in past few months, that shows how Contender Series became main source for new signings.
It's much easier for Dana to organize something in his own arena and fighters came from all over the world to him, then make some blind signings.

What am I missing here? Cheesy Isn't the main idea of DWCS to get those fighters signed to the promotion Cheesy Why would I be surprised if the sole thing the show was created for is doing just that? Of course, they are signing fighters. What I am questioning is the entertainment value of the show, not its legitimacy of fighters and potential UFC newcomers. As for entertainment, it falls flat. Sure, you could argue that some of the fights themselves are entertaining, but you could also then argue that watching any UFC fight card from start to finish or any other organization could be considered entertainment and, besides of a couple of honorable mentions, I do not.

Haven’t been watching the last couple DCWS events but the guys who fight in it fight for something more important than money or fame...  They fight for their careers and climbing that ladder for the betterment of their lives and the lives of their families.  I’m pretty sure everybody gets it and would appreciate it from that perspective.

And if all else fails, makes bets.  That should entertain you.  Lol.  Grin

^  And as said:  ‘Right out of nowhere.’.  Cheesy  The long wait and anxiety, asking why everything else is moving on up except SHIB has been worth it.  It’s up more than a lot of alts that have been going up for the last couple of weeks.  It’s nice to get paid for being patient this time around.

In case some of you guys are interested in this old game...  ASL 12 is at the elimination bracket with the quarter finals starting on October 10...

As for the lines, I think they’re all sharp and parlayable except for Soma vs Rush.  Rush a slight chance of winning as an underdog in a Bo5 which makes him the value bet of the bracket.  FJ has SC/BW listed under SC2 if you’re looking for a betting market.

Good news? Bad news?

More fun for us.

RAIN IS EXPECTED for Saturday 70% and Sunday 60%

I’m hoping it’s dry but then again I won’t be disappointed if it rains.  And yeah, definitely more fun for us.  Lol.  It’s still going to be slightly good for a Russell points finish kind of bet.  Grin

And the rain should open some more opportunities for value betting.

I am really not interested in most of the fights for upcoming UFC event except maybe one fight in heavyweight category Alexander Romanov vs Jared Vanderaa.
I never watched any of this fighters, but Romanov has perfect 14-0 record with a nickname King Kong, now that must be interesting fight to watch.

News for Kevin Holland vs Kyle Daukaus rematch could happen very soon for UFC event on November 13!

I like Romanov too but his line is too deep.  A line like that at heavy weight feels kinda iffy to put some action on or put in parlays.  It could be a pie shitter.

Another interesting underdog pick for the event could be Tim Elliot.  Watch Elliot vs Royval at MMA Core if they have it.  Elliot lost but he is relentless.  I don’t think Nicolau could out last Elliot like Royval did.

Edit:  The books will make Daukas a slight favorite.

What do you guys think of Turkish GP’s track?  I’m looking at Russel points finish at 2.75 but I was wondering if the track is more suited for Merc powered cars or not.  What do you guys think?  coinlocket$, you’re the guy who knows a lot more about F1 that the average BCT poster...  What do you think?

Hard to answer, at this moment I can't see a dominant car but the leading change is based on the type of track.
This is a mixed track with fast straights.

It depends on tires for Pirelli too, if they are going with harder compounds Mercedes will work better.
The wheater could be rainy this year too.

I say Hamilton with Norris fighting if is dry, if it is wet Verstappen.

So that’s both Merc powered cars if it’s dry.  But I think it’s a crap shoot if it’s wet.  Who knows what could happen if it’s raining.

So...  If Merc powered cars are strong if it’s dry, would you say Russell could finish with points in this track?  And an argument could be made for Russell finishing way better than where he started if it’s raining too.  Smiley

^  The return of Pep will be the only thing that could take them out of the rut as quickly as possible imho.  And even then, it would take years of rebuilding the squad and years of fixing whatever is going on at Barca behind the scenes.  I always go back to the Liverpool example...  Something which Man United is experiencing.

Looking at these matches..  At first glance I feel like the underdogs have no value and the favorites are not really parlayable.  Lol. There could be some good spots there at the over/under that’s parlayable.  The main event is kinda weird tho.  Dern is the favorite? I think Rodriguez is way better on the feet and has the TD defense good enough to defend Dern’s wrestling.

Brighton and Brentford are 6th and 7th respectively in the league with 14 and 12 points each.  It’s nice to see Brighton finally getting the results they’re due.  Last season they were playing very well, esp during the beginning of the season but the results just weren’t there.  And Brentford, what can I say..  I was all praise and was telling everybody to watch out for this club before the season started.  I expected them to stay up but I never expected them to do this good.  Lol.

MVPs split decision is not so impactful as the TKO Lima had over him in the first fight. The level of competition Lima had after their first fight is way tougher than MVP had leading up to their second fight, and it still looks like MVP is cherry-picking his opponents to have a better record. Not a fan of his.
Looks like it is hard to get a decision right when they fight in England in their homeland. It is a robbery and i cannot understand how the judges can give a split decision victory to Michael Page when Douglas Lima clearly won the fight in my eyes. The good thing is that Michael Page wants the trilogy and even i would like to see them fight again rather than giving Michael Page the title fight.
Yup, that's the issue here, when you have fought so close to make a quality decision, the judges tend to sway for the hometown fighter if that's an option. There has been a lot of talk regarding MMA judging and the fact of the matter is that it's just not up to standads. But there are also no steps made towards improving the judging, at least none that we can see have any effect. It saddens me to say this, but in the words of the Michelin mascot Dana White 'Never live it in the hands of the judges'.

If you lengthen the fight so much that the judges have to make a decision, a biased decision is to be expected with a hometown player in the ring. What Lima should have done is play more aggressively. He played a bit passive and that cost him the match. I also feel like that is a kind of biased decision. MMA Judges should be I guess trained more or maybe necessary steps should be taken so that the judge calls are more accurate and unbiased.

A take down at R2 would’ve done the trick imho.  And I scored the match for Lima as is.  But you know..  The judges prolly wanted to get out of there in one piece.  Lolol.

3798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: October 02, 2021, 03:46:05 PM
It was 2 - 1 for Lima for me.  I mean it was close but it really looked like Page didn’t land 20 punches on Lima.  IMHO.  Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me.  What Lima could’ve done was get a take down in the second round.  If he had done that, he would’ve gotten the W imho.
3799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 02, 2021, 03:33:21 PM
^  I think after Hooker, if he wins, he’d then be matched up with the winner of Gaethje vs Chandler.  And if he wins that, then the title.  Poirier is kinda out of the mix for the time being for choosing a McGregor trilogy.  And with the money he made, we won’t be seeing him for a little while.  Lol.

Anyway, Aspen Ladd is out.   She looked really bad at weigh in.  She couldn’t stand on her own.  This happened twice to her now.
