3781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 08, 2020, 03:27:31 PM
Well, considering how many tickets champions league games are selling that is one thing but also there is always the jersey sales and other merchandise stuff as well and all of that collectively becomes a huge amount of loss for the teams. I think uefa or serie A or any other should finally get an agreement with the TV rights all around the world to increase when there is a game without any viewers, not huge a lot but a bit of difference and change would be nice.

It doesn't have to be for this corona virus because it is already too late and deals are made but for the future a deal that includes "if for any reason games are played without supporters, the price will be increased 5% for that game" type of rule would actually make teams lose a bit less amount of money in the future.
3782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What p2p games will you play? on: March 07, 2020, 08:40:00 PM
P2P games could be a great concept but I haven't seen any professional gambling site doing it. Lottery is a sort of mass P2P games but it's slow and non adventurous.
The site could just hold the coins and take away the commission. I have played rock paper scissor in faucethub that was fun playing P2P but the microwallet is closed now. And there also was a lightning gambling site that allowed P2P coin flip.
Yes such games would be fun and the casino should take profits from the winner only to be fair to the loser.

I sometimes wonder if there exist a sportsbook that could work on pvp basis and player could make bets against each other and avoid the massive house edge that is being taken by the bookies online. I mean dice is fine because there is 1% edge usually but sports betting have heavy house edge ranging from 10-20% varying on events and bookies.

The logic of pvp exist only where the games can be won using skills and not luck because any games that are based on luck you can always play such against the house for example dice and roulette. Lottery is the worst form of pvp because while you win against other players there is no skill involved at all.
3783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Supreme Court of India finally uplifts the ban on Cryptocurrencies in India on: March 07, 2020, 07:58:40 PM
For those who are unaware please read this : https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/a-long-road-ahead-for-bitcoin-exchanges/articleshow/74503190.cms

So, yes the ban has been lifted but there are some banks that are still waiting for the RBI to release notice for acceptance of bitcoin transactions through banks while some banks have already given green signal right away.

I believe now that a clear stance has been taken by the government there will be more and more legal exchanges and trading platforms but I doubt if there will be some special taxes or something on crypto transactions.
3784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Sad News]: Nigerian shot dead after resisting robbers access to crypto phone on: March 07, 2020, 06:35:05 PM
If life is not there, then what is the need for money? As the police station was nearby, he could've just gone there and asked for help. Though in situations like these, one hardly knows what to do next, and he did what he thought would be best for the time being. RIP
But, what he could have done when they believed he has 10k while he actually had only 400 as I was reading the article and the victim's friend was involved and he told the suspects that Iroro has 10k and when he caught beaten and tortured he only could give them 400 which is all he had. I believe what could save such things is the punishment must be severe and something like shot dead on the eye because if you can beat and kill someone for money then there is no reason there should be mercy shown towards you.

I often read that an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind, but then if there is no eye for an eye then there would be no fear among such criminals and such cases will only increase.

I feel so upset and angered for the little kids who lost their father for money, seriously something is wrong with people now days.
3785  Economy / Economics / Re: Can corona virus or any other epidemic disease can collapse Banking? on: March 07, 2020, 06:03:31 PM
Imagine Corona virus or any epidemic disease affected globally. As a result, all the economy will be affected and people will face hard time. Will not it bring an affect in economic balance? Which will turn into high inflation globally and it will result collapse of the banking system. Will it? In my country, the situation is getting worse for product which we are depended on China. I can see a significant inflation here if Corona Virus issue continued.
In most countries companies have allowed their staffs to stay indoors and work from home and there are some places that have locked down and people are no longer permitted in those places. I don’t really know how banks in other countries are handling this issue, but as for my country, banks are still functioning and their staffs are going to work every blessed working day from Monday to Friday lol.

I don’t know if it’s really possible for them to work from home, but they are doing their best at work to prevent infection. I guess  the next 10 to 20 days will be more crucial like where global economy will head from today's state. If there will be an anti-virus of corona then I guess we can restore everything in the matter of few weeks. Let's pray for that.
3786  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency can not replace fiat currency. on: March 07, 2020, 05:03:52 PM
Uuhm you’re right, it’s not everyone that can make use of cryptocurrency, just like other online payment systems like PayPal and Payoneer, there are people who are not interested in such things, some of them don’t even make use of internet banking that are provided by the banks.

But cryptocurrency will be adopted by the government, and it will play a major role in future. It’s not going to be a replacement for fiat, there is still going to be paper money and banks, we will have fiat but cryptocurrency will be another currency that will be created by the government. You should take JP coin as an example, it’s owned by a bank in the US and when it’s released it’s going to be a stable coin that’s pegged to the US dollars and customers of that bank will be able to convert their USD for the JP Coin which should probably be considered an asset. That’s how it’s going to be.
3787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Age restriction in gambling on: March 07, 2020, 09:30:14 AM
When I saw 5 years old is allowed, I tried searching where this country is. And Malawi is in Southern Africa.
Thanks for the information and actually their currency is called as Malawian Kwacha and 1 USD gets you 732 MW which shows us how terrible the condition must be in that country and I really feel for the people there.

The country had suffered poverty over the years, Country hardly recovered depression and still the exploitation of the large estate owners. Maybe at early stage people are resorting to gambling but its still quite not right to have it approved by law to allow 5 year old to gamble.
Maybe even the law is bound to make such decisions to get enough profit to run their government but I indeed agree that allowing a 5-year old kid to gamble is just like allowing him to take drugs and I don't know this country will recover in future because their condition is dire financially and they are not making wise decisions either.
3788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can writing how hard you worked for earning money restrict you from gambling? on: March 07, 2020, 07:42:39 AM
Well that's some hardships you got there bro even i wouldn't do task or job just to get a $20 reward and on top of that, it was a electrical engineering assignment. If you have brains like that you should go to college and study. So you can have a hobby and stay away from gambling if its destroying you.
But, hardships are important in life because hard times are nothing but learning times because you understand the value of money and the value of your talent. I mean yes I would myself never waste my sleep and wake for a 20 bucks specially when I am mentally exhausted but there were times in past when I used to do such tasks and earn money but those times just shaped me as a better person eventually.

You know gambling is just for the rich with extra money to burn or spent carelessly, so hard earn cash should be throughly carefully spent in necessities.
Gambling is made for rich I can agree with that but if you actually do a survey you will realize the big percentage of people that suffer from gambling addiction are poor people because they feel gambling is their solution to monetary needs and they get trapped digging a bigger hole slowly and eventually realizing but it's too late by the time they realize it.
3789  Economy / Economics / Re: You will be able, slowly, to pay one bitcoin for 25000 pizza. Any other opinion? on: March 06, 2020, 05:07:26 PM
Lol LMAO Huh this is true meehn, as times goes you will be able to buy up the whole Pizza in a Pizza store with Bitcoin lol.
The price is really going up and I’m just wondering what’s going to happen after the next Halving that will be taking place on May. The price has been increasing recently after a fall back to around $8,000 price rate.

Today the price has gone from $8,700 to over $9,100. I’m looking forward to further up movement from bitcoin. And then I can’t really wait for the month of May, I just can’t wait meehn, I hope that things happen for the better because know that there are people who are waiting for that as an opportunity to say some trash.
3790  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to Precious Metals Companies on: March 06, 2020, 03:16:34 PM
Hi everyone. I'm looking for a company that will convert BTC to Gold. (Or precious metals such as Platinum / Silver etc)

Example , If BTC is worth 100K USD , Then i'd be able to transfer my BTC to them for 2KG of gold. (Assuming Gold Spot Price is 50k USD)

is there any companies that are able to do this? I remember GoldMoney backed by Sprott Capital but they no longer have the option of doing the exchange anymore.
As much as I know there are no companies that are doing that. If you want to buy gold you should sell your Bitcoin and then convert to fiat before looking for where you can be buying the gold you want. The same thing applies to when you want to convert your gold to cryptocurrency, you will have to sell to fiat and buy Bitcoin.

I know a lot of companies that are selling gold where you can be investing in gold but none of them are accepting Bitcoin as payment, the only payment they are accepting is payments to banks direct, and no other. I don’t even think their kind of business is the type that requires have different payment methods, they should be working with banks.
3791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Assess your gambling addiction level. on: March 03, 2020, 07:19:58 PM
Hey OP, you probably might have come up with the most needed self-assessment tool for this community. Really a good piece of work for this gambling community; still I am not sure how many of this community will be making use of such self-test as they are TOO BUSY with their gambling Roll Eyes. You must have done some good work for this community whereas making use of it or not will be up to individual gambler's preferences.

I believe I am at the level of zero because I rarely go to gambling. So far all my gambling are only online even we are having lots of physical casino in our country. The fortunate thing is the religion which we are following; even I'm not that much religion oriented, I never prefer to go for gambling. I believe this is the simple way I do safeguard myself from gambling addiction.
3792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Compulsive gambling. on: March 03, 2020, 06:32:44 PM
I hope that some day, people will start recognizing themselves and if they find themselves under a 'gambler's' category, they will take necessary steps to remain under controlled mindset and not to get addicted to it and cut their connections with almost everyone in their life.
Yes, to get rid off the problems of compulsive gambling, gamblers must realize themselves as the category of "addicted gamblers", only from that point they could make differences into their gambling activities. If they do not take time for self evaluating about their addiction levels on gambling, they will never able to get out of it.

I believe most gamblers do not recognize themselves as a gambler but they do think like they are making fun out of gambling still they do believe they are not the actual gamblers. Before they are realizing about their addiction, most gamblers are getting addicted to gambling severely. From the point when they are doing self-evaluation, I guess changes to their life will be happening.
3793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling or Casino gambling? on: March 03, 2020, 05:13:10 PM
I would prefer to gamble with online casinos because it's more convenient and I don't have to exert any effort to travel just to go to casinos. I'm also able to focus and enjoy without hassle. I will also be able to control and know my limits whenever I'm playing. The good thing about it is I could also gamble anytime and anywhere. I was also a fan of physical casinos before but I switched to online casinos when I have found its benefits.
You might be wrong here because actually when you are playing online you sometime get blown off with the loss and there is no one near you to wake you up before you deposit more and ultimately loose more than what you originally allocated for gambling.

While in a physical casino you always have friends and foes around you and the continuous talk with them keeps you in reality. But everything these are all just a personal preferences and definitely we cannot have any common thing because gambler's preferences are just case to case. We may choose the right one which will be not making us addicted to it; in my personal opinion it will be casino gambling because visiting it frequently will not be possible unlike online gambling.
3794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A question about halving on: March 03, 2020, 04:30:09 PM
A friend asked if Halving is enough reason to invest in a coin? What do you think about this question?

My own answer is nope because halving is just a feature that won't work out until several years and if the project never have any good use case to begin with the halving won't make any difference.
You must have answered in terms of bitcoin. In my opinion halving must be the biggest feature in bitcoin's economic rules because only because of halving deflation will occur quickly which must be the important thing for making bitcoin as one of the attractive investment opportunity of our life time. Yes, we do not need to bother about any other coin's halving feature because other halving will not impact crypto markets unlike how influentially bitcoin's halving will be impacting.

Simply I must say, halving will be the enough reason for anyone to invest with bitcoins. But do not get mislead by same kind of halving feature for any other coin. This way I believe you might have answered to your friend in the right sense.
3795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't hate long term promotions on: March 03, 2020, 03:54:11 PM
There will be no reason for anyone to hate long term promotions when there will be superb rewards for their contribution, or at least "enough rewards" for their contribution. But, as far as I have observed long-term promotions are paying only at the end of their campaign and which will be after few months still the rewards will be less than what weekly campaigns are paying for a week. In that case it must be definitely waste of time, and obviously everyone will start hating such a long promotions.

It must be a long-term request from altcoin bounty hunters for getting paid in ETH or BTC but no devs/project team is ready to listen such requests even they are doing crowdfunds in BTC or ETH. When there will be weekly rewards in BTC or ETH, I believe everyone will be preferring to work for long-term promotions as there will be no room for hating it.
3796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Protect your cryptocurrency, only means, protect your account. on: March 03, 2020, 03:00:56 PM
Safety measurements of crypto currency holding has no different from what we are doing with our physical assets for years. I mean to say we must follow what experts are suggesting for protecting them from hackers or from fire or from any other critical situations. Without listening to experts suggestions and opinion, I believe no one could get a right knowledge for protecting their crypto assets.

Before crypto, people must be familiar with online transactions like Internet banking or virtual visa card or paypal/payza accounts. What were the protection steps they have followed for those things, they must follow again given that adding few new things additionally required for the case of cryptos. But it is always good to remind people about protecting their crypto stash by having discussions like these. Good work OP!
3797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin The Best Safe-haven In The Wake of Financial Crisis? on: March 03, 2020, 12:46:51 PM
I am not hundred percent sure about this, but I feel that Bitcoin would be a really good option for anyone that goes for it. Bitcoin shouldn’t be the only thing to be considering , there are lots of other assets that you should look into if you’re afraid to invest in Bitcoin. Gold has always been another good option to consider apart from bitcoin and some experts have said that gold is a better safe haven than Bitcoin.

I would prefer to invest in Bitcoin because I know that as time goes on the price of bitcoin will keep going up. From 2008 that bitcoin was created to now the price has been going up. Every year the low for the cryptocurrency is always higher than what it was in the past and that’s because the community keeps growing. I know that in the next years more people will discover bitcoin and start investing in it and it will keep on growing.
3798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Longest Break You Have On Not Gambling on: March 03, 2020, 12:10:57 PM
Im just curious how much do you earn in gambling in a daily basis ?
That's not a good question, I don't know why people expect that gamblers earn on a daily basis, we need to cut that false belief, even the gambling sites which has the advantage does not earn on a daily basis, how much more the gamblers who are just betting on luck.

There are gamblers who are successful but they don't need to earn on a daily basis as it's impossible, they just have more wins than loses.
But, unfortunately that's the truth that some guys still believe that there are gamblers who earn money on regular basis from gambling which to me sounds really idiotic and doesn't make sense either. The best someone can do at gambling is follow a particular sports tipster and just bet as they give picks and maintain some profit but even that is not possible because there is not even a single tipster who can guarantee you profits.

9 months is a long time! How did you not manage to leave it totally lol? It's understandable if it was just your hobby and not permanent type of addictions as those are really hard to get rid of haha.
I was wondering the same because 9 months is almost like quitting gambling and then getting back to it again because you cannot call 270 days of no gambling as a break at all.
3799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Multi-accounts, the industry-standard and KYC. on: March 03, 2020, 10:04:09 AM
I am really glad someone came up with the point because people are worried that if they speak against the casino they will be treated with harsh statements and if you honestly ask me, any casino that wants to ask ID documents should ask as soon as the gambler registers because if the gambler does loose the money that money should also be count, I mean OP made a valid point as of how the casino can just swallow the money and ask no KYC if the gambler looses or wins small, but if they win big they will be passing through tough KYC process.

This does not make sense to me, either you verify all your gamblers or none. I was reading the thread in scam accusation and actually felt the gambler was robbed but that is just my personal opinion. Some reputed members were on the side of Fortunejack too so we all have different opinions.
3800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Local bookie with high limits for fixed etc on: March 02, 2020, 08:26:28 PM
"Fixed games" is the red flag which gave you away op. Don't waste your time people. This guy is probably a scammer who is looking for gullible newbies and is trying to entice them with high limit local bookie bullshit.
But I was wondering since he is the bettor and claims to have money and bookie so basically he is the one looking for that fixed match and want to bet himself and pay the person who gives him that imaginary fixed bet, I actually wonder if this is an attempt to lure people into talking him and then slowly turning the table and getting them into sending him money.

If high limits and no-ban is what you are seeking, there are plenty of books out there like Pinnacle and asian books like SBOBet etc which get the job done and charge low margin on your bets.
Pinnacle needs ID verification since it is a standard casino and one would be in trouble if they use Pinnacle for suspected matches so I think anyone would rather try sportsbet.io and cloudbet maybe for such things and maybe even stake as now they take sports bet.

Here is an article how Pinncale would void your bets in such cases: https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/2015_Match-Fixing_Scandal
